Was thinking for a while to try this place and finally the day arrived and today I wanted to tantalize my tastebuds with Indian spices . This place opens at 5 pm so no lunch .... open for late night dinner till 2 am. Went in , restaurant had an overwhelming bouquet of Indian food , after few minutes felt like their exhaust was not working and all kitchen smoke was flowing in . Not good for dine in but we resisted n ordered chicken tikka masala n dal makhani with garlic butter naan .First the servers are not dine in friendly as we ordered the server said " u will have to wait for 50 min as we are too busy with take out orders " , though the restaurant was almost empty with 2 tables occupied . We were patient n waited . To our good luck food arrived in 38 minutes . Vooooooo yeah ! Food looked appetizing , tried the crispy butter garlic naan with dal makhni n chicken tikka masala . To my surprise the food was tasty . Though it lacked authenticity but it was a great creation by the chefs toward the success of the gourmet ! Most irritating n uncalled in the whole experience was the lack of oxygen in the restaurant to breathe with all the smoke around . A hole in the wall place that to a normal person would look like a truck driver pitstop, nothing more. We went in pretty late one night, probably around 12:30 AM and the place was still super busy. Ended up ordering a couple of dishes and some bread as we were starving. The dal tadka was so tasty and fresh and my husband enjoyed the butter chicken equally the garlic naans were fresh and tasty. We ordered some rice and yogurt to finish our meal and I was throughly satisfied. Portion sizes are pretty standard. Don't expect a super clean environment, or excellent service but food is fresh and tasty, just typically reflective of what you would find in a "Dhabha" or roadside food stop. read more

VEGAN OPTIONS - Sort of. It's Indian food, so you should ask based on whichever dishes you are ordering. But it's *highly* likely that everything contains at least butter, ghee, or a dollop of yogurt, somehow somewhere. Trust me on this. The best part about this place is that they are open LATE. I came in around 12:30am, but if I recall correctly, they are open until 2 or 3am most nights. I ordered the following: Malai Kofta Jeera Rice Garlic Naan The garlic naan was VERY good. The rice was ok, as was the malai kofta. Nothing to write home about, but definitely nothing to complain about either. Overall it was quite good for the late hour of the night. The place had a steady stream of patrons, almost all of which were locals. Good value and a great option if you are craving some fairly authentic desi roti after 10pm any night of the week. read more

We were visiting in the vicinity from way the other end of the GTA and needed a restaurant open after 10 pm on Boxing Day. Yelpers recommended this restaurant; Yelpers were spot on. The place was packed with a minimum half hour wait for a table. The atmosphere was young and lively. The servers were efficient in resetting tables and order taking, as well as friendly, courteous and accommodating of special requests. Water jug on the table was replenished without having to ask; kudos to the servers. A slight misunderstanding resulted in the naan orders being brought out much later than the tandoori orders. *Hint: specify that naan should be brought out with the "appetizers"* It was nice to have pretty serving dishes, and real plates and cutlery instead of paper and plastic. Even the take out containers were of superior, non-leak variety :D. The seating system was efficient, once we were able to determine how and where we were supposed to register for a table. All the food ordered (mostly tandoori, naan and vegetable curry) was excellent, freshly made, generous portions even for sharing, the naan light and tender. But the real stand out was the tandoori fish (salmon?). We would make the long trek back for the tandoori fish alone! This was food quality that belongs in a 5* restaurant where the prices charged far outstrip what we were charged here. One star off for the following: - No sign explaining about registering for a table. - Decor and ambiance could do with an upgrade. I hope they open branches in other parts of the GTA! I've been eyeing this place for a while. The hours are kinda funky so I've had to plan it to able to pick up after 5PM. I ordered the classic meal, butter chicken spicy with rice and garlic naaan! We're all looking for the best butter chicken in the GTA and I've definitely found a contestant. Rich, creamy and spicy with the right amount of sweetness. It is a very cozy place. Minimal investment to the decore was obvious. I don't think the chairs matched at our table. The plates and utensils were almost clean. And the water tasted a little off. There were tonnes mosquitos. Be prepared!! With that said... the food was authentic! Which is the most important part of dinning out! I saw them make everything in the back. There were 2- 3 cooks. Absolutely amazing food. I never had a punjabi food as good as this place. If you are vising town or live in Toronto definetly visit this place. It is absolutely delight to eat in this place. Location is not very friendly to dine in but still their customer service is on par with really good restaurant. This place is like eating in a Authentic Five Star Indian restaurant with lots of flavor flowing through your mouth. What ridiculous take out service. Doesn't matter if you order one thing or 4. They tell you 35-40 min. No worries. I'll manage. When you get the 9/10 the order won't be ready and you'll still be waiting. I've seen this with them being full and at times with on 2 tables. Order food at 719 pm yesterday. Got there at 804pm. For two items. Food wasn't ready. Kept telling me they are "packing it " and will need 5-10 min to pack the food. Waited 5 min and when I heard the guy respond back to the front staff asking for my food with a "it's getting ready, coming soon". I left. Last straw. Food is decent. First of all let me start by say I g that I loved the fact that this dhaba is open late like 2 or 3 am...which i love. I was leaving for st catharines that night after staying in a hotel so I ordered a couple of things. The only thing I did not like we that the chicken Tikka Masala has A LOT of onions. Like A LOT. Had dinner here and I must say best and fresh Indian food at such reasonable price in entire North America that we have tried. Ordered Dal Makhani, Paneer Tikka Masala, Onion Kulcha, Naan, tandoori roti( never had this good before and I reordered) to finish with we ordered Gilar Jamuns and this blew us since they were so fresh reminded me of back home India. We asked for the chef and congratulated him for such great food and how much we appreciate his cooking. He was super nice and polite. Pretty good, with most of the 'hits' you'd hope for in Punjabi food. Perhaps wasn't quite as good as some of the other reviews got me excited for; however still pretty strong overall. I called in advance to order ensuring time for preparation but what this restaurant fails on is the poor service and time management. First time here. Awesome experience. Great staff, the young girls working here were so attentive and informative. We got take out, and it was delicious. I have been coming here for the past 3 years and when I first started coming the food was excellent! But ever since they renovated their food has been on the decline. The last time this place was good was October, 3, 2017. (Yes I remember the date) That day the naan was on point and the sabjee was great. But now the food is filled with things like onions and very little meat so that they can save money. Please if anyone who works at Baba Dhaba is reading this, change back so the fond memories of me eating here aren't just some fantasies. Drove from Toronto to try this place out based on price and review, and was 100% satisfied. The portions were huge, prices were good, service was great and food was fresh. Hidden gem located in Brampton's industrial area (Rutherford and Glidden). Food is authentic Dhaba style. (Dhaba = highway/roadside eatery). Takes a while for them to prepare food, but it's worth the wait. Chana Masala, Kofta, Baingan Bharta are veg favourites along with Garlic Naan. Tadka Daal is also very delicious.
