Malai kofta
Nina K.

VEGAN OPTIONS - Sort of. It's Indian food, so you should ask based on whichever dishes you are ordering. But it's *highly* likely that everything contains at least butter, ghee, or a dollop of yogurt, somehow somewhere. Trust me on this. The best part about this place is that they are open LATE. I came in around 12:30am, but if I recall correctly, they are open until 2 or 3am most nights. I ordered the following: Malai Kofta Jeera Rice Garlic Naan The garlic naan was VERY good. The rice was ok, as was the malai kofta. Nothing to write home about, but definitely nothing to complain about either. Overall it was quite good for the late hour of the night. The place had a steady stream of patrons, almost all of which were locals. Good value and a great option if you are craving some fairly authentic desi roti after 10pm any night of the week.

We were visiting in the vicinity from way the other end of the GTA and needed a restaurant open after 10 pm on Boxing Day. Yelpers recommended this restaurant; Yelpers were spot on. The place was packed with a minimum half hour wait for a table. The atmosphere was young and lively. The servers were efficient in resetting tables and order taking, as well as friendly, courteous and accommodating of special requests. Water jug on the table was replenished without having to ask; kudos to the servers. A slight misunderstanding resulted in the naan orders being brought out much later than the tandoori orders. *Hint: specify that naan should be brought out with the "appetizers"* It was nice to have pretty serving dishes, and real plates and cutlery instead of paper and plastic. Even the take out containers were of superior, non-leak variety :D. The seating system was efficient, once we were able to determine how and where we were supposed to register for a table. All the food ordered (mostly tandoori, naan and vegetable curry) was excellent, freshly made, generous portions even for sharing, the naan light and tender. But the real stand out was the tandoori fish (salmon?). We would make the long trek back for the tandoori fish alone! This was food quality that belongs in a 5* restaurant where the prices charged far outstrip what we were charged here. One star off for the following: - No sign explaining about registering for a table. - Decor and ambiance could do with an upgrade. I hope they open branches in other parts of the GTA! Without compromising on their food quality.

This is my new favorite Indian restaurant. Food is awesome. Taste is great. Only thing missing is ambiance but authentic Indian taste will not let you miss that. Will keep going back there.

It is a very cozy place. Minimal investment to the decore was obvious. I don't think the chairs matched at our table. The plates and utensils were almost clean. And the water tasted a little off. There were tonnes mosquitos. Be prepared!! With that said... the food was authentic! Which is the most important part of dinning out! I saw them make everything in the back. There were 2- 3 cooks. And they each specialized in something. It took no time for the food. Will definitely go back for takeouts.

Absolutely THE BEST tandoori salmon I've ever had. Very tender with the perfect amount of spices. Very delicious baigan Bharta and bhindi masala. The naan was also delicious. The mango lassi and salty lassi was just ok. The place itself is not the nicest but the food definitely deserves the four stars. The service was friendly and polite.

Simply delicious

Poor quality, even the butter chicken was bad. How can they mess that up ?!?! Biryani was full of onions, what a cheap way to make a dish.

Amazing food. Truely indian taste. Will go again. Though waited almost 40 mins for food due to a rush of customers, but worth the wait.

The only thing that I didn't like the first time around, and didn't like this time around either, was the lighting. It was much too dark in the restaurant, even though it was daytime. We were even sitting at a table near the bar, which had potlights however, it was still dark. We were served by Nimrat, whom brought over our menus, and allowed us ample time to order our items. I had settled on butter chicken, with a side order of regular naan, and plain rice. The food took a bit long to arrive however, since there were seven in our group, I understood why the food took longer to prepare. However, once the food came, I was very happy with how delicious everything was! The butter chicken came in a large dish, which was placed on top of a small pot with a flame inside, which kept the butter chicken hot during my entire visit; this was a great addition to the meal! The naan was an excellent accompaniment, along with the plain rice; everything was well-prepared, with the perfect amount of flavouring. It also wasn't spicy, which is perfect for my taste buds; this chef definitely knows how to cook an excellent meal! Nimrat checked on us regularly, filling our glasses with water, and taking away any dishes that we had finished with. Even the owner came by to greet us, and ask how we were enjoying everything. Overall, this place had excellent food, with wonderful service provided by Nimrat, and beautiful décor. The only thing that I didn't like was the lighting however, I would definitely come back.

So I usually do a yake out of mains as they have a long wait for dinner but if i am in mood to enjoy appetizers i will definitely visit them by 6. Now why 3 stars- when generally they don't do reservations. But for a party of 6 or more they do and charge 18% gratuity by default. And in one of our visits they added gratuity and without informing they also asked for tipped. Blind sided us ( 2 families) paid 15 % on top, which was way more than actual bill, as 15 percent was paid on total bill . After going home when we realized, we called them but they refused to do anything. We felt like cheated and misinformed.

The space itself is very cool, with lots of interesting artwork on the walls and a big bar at the front where you enter the restaurant. The menu is extensive so we had a bit of a hard time choosing what to try but we ended up with the gol cuppe, hare masalay ki tikka app (basically spiced and fried potato patties), malai chicken tikka, fish masala and avadhi paneer, jeera rice, and dahi (yogurt) with butter naans. I was surprised they don't offer a specific kids menu but perhaps they may add one in the future. The food was tasty and presented nicely - my fave dish was the paneer. There did seem to be a bit of a wait in between dishes but that was ok as we were having a family visit and not in a rush anyway. Our servers were nice but again were a bit slow to check in, etc. Would like to return again to try more dishes including the fusion pasta items as they sound very interesting.
