Adda you blew my mind!! Absolute heavenly tasting bengali food which I got introduced to my later in life. So let's get the basics out of the way and they move onto the good. The service is excellent and the servers and very quick-the food comes out in timely manner. We ordered the fuchkas which are hollow crispy balls with spicy potatoes/chickpeas/chutneys/yogurt topped with sev. It was perfect definitely recommending it. For the mains I ordered the fried pomfret which was super fresh and perfectly seasoned and topped with fried onion. Very delicious. Next with the shrimp Malia curry with rice or pulao as the name suggests it's a creamy shrimp curry. I absolutely loved this dish. There was so much more on their menu that I wanted to try-will definitely be going there again to try out some new things. It's a nice and warm feeling restaurant serving quality food and pricing is pretty standard to other restaurants serving similar food. There is parking outside the place but limited. Great work team. Adda lives up to its high ratings and reviews you see online. It's probably the best South Asian restaurant I've been to in the GTA (which says a lot, because there are hundreds, if not thousands, of such restaurants in the GTA). It excels in all aspects: the food, service, ambience, operations of the restaurant (you'll see why when you go there to dine in or order for to-go). They ony take reservation for parties of 6 people or larger, so we just came as walk-ins. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by very friendly staff and the manager himself made sure we were taken care of throughout the whole time we were there. They were very busy and packed when we went (on a weekend late afternoon / early evening). We were glad to be seated right away (they accommodated us by splitting a table for 4 into a table for 2). They also have the back patio open during summer months. The unexpected but amazing thing was that the manager came to move us to a different, bigger table (booth-style seating) that was more comfortable, as soon as those tables for bigger parties cleared up. I thought that was very nice and attentive of him - going above and beyond with hospitality to make sure that we were comfortable (instead of sitting right by the front door) and had more space for our dishes. You can access the menu by scanning QR code on your mobile phone. The waiter who took our order was very helpful and made great recommendations, knowing that we couldn't handle spicy food well. All of his suggestions turned out to be amazing (especially the Shrimp Malai Curry). All of the dishes we had were excellent, high-quality, and very delicious. The Fuchka / Pani Puri was a great appetizer, and you could choose between mild, medium, and very spicy. The outer shell gave a great crunch, with the soft interior consisting of potatoes and chickpeas. I loved the shaved boiled egg, sev, and coriander toppings. Most of the dishes were spicy (such as the bhortas), but there were non-spicy options as well (such as the fish fry, shrimp malai curry, mixed labra). My favourite dishes were the Pomfret Fish Fry (loved the fried onions) and Mixed Labra (so flavourful, and good mix of different types of vegetables all in one dish). The Pulao Rice was very fragrant. Borhani was the traditional Bengali drink that we wanted to try (made from sour curd, mustard seeds, green chilli, black salt, coriander, and mint), and we were glad to finally have tried it here (as not a lot of other places seem to offer it). Service was top-notch - not just by the very friendly manager (who seemed to run the place really well logistically), but also by all the staff. All waiters and waitresses were super attentive, helpful, and provided quick service (including the cooking time) and overall really great customer service. Note that there is free parking right outside of the restaurant, but it's limited space. There are extra parking spaces right across the street, and also street parking around the corner along Danforth Avenue. read more

First wanted to start off with how packed this place was usually you can't get in this restaurant without reservation the owner greeted us and is very humble, we got the fuchka, the walima roast, the beef curry, kacchi biryani, chi khicurri, the decor was really nice, nice ambiance, I did not like the bourhani it's too spicy but that's how it's supposed to be so I can't argue with that, yeah good flavour on the roast you have to eat that with palao that is a flavoured rice with desi ghee, absolutely amazing, yeah can come back here again for sure read more

Bangladeshi restaurants in Toronto (North America in general) has it tough. Most of the time they are advertised as Indian or Pakistani restaurants to draw attention to the familiar; and authentic Bengali items on the menu don't get the love they deserve. On the other hand, most Bengali (at least in my circle) tend to cook Bangladeshi meals regularly to preserve the heritage. So true Bengali restaurants are critiqued quite intensely by amazing home cooks. Now Adda caters to the community through their well rounded traditional Bengali menu, and draws in the mainstream with their inviting space. Let's face it, we are not usually very good at creating ambience, so I am really happy to see a restaurant with good food, service, and a clean space! I took my parents here and we ordered a combination of regular food items (things Bengali people eat every day) as well as special occasion dishes. And here is a summary of what we had... Paach mishali bharta: Bharta is a mash. It could be made of almost anything, and this "platter" features 5 different types: potato, eggplant, lentil, tomato, and dried fish (a bit smelly for some) mixed with fresh herbs and spices. And comes with rice, daal and a friend eggplant. (@Adda Auntie/Uncle, who ever made the fried eggplant, I think but you forgot to salt it... the fried eggplant needs some love. My mom was confused and still telling me about it a week later.) Chingri Dopiaza: Shrimp in a curry gravy - it's one of my favourite dishes, and I got it with some pulao (fragrant rice). It was delicious! Almost like how my mom makes it. My mom agreed. Biye Barir Roast = Wedding Roast. Traditionally at weddings, chicken roast (Bengali style, not rotisserie) is commonly served with pulao, and it's the classic scent of any banquet hall. And it's absolutely delightful - order it! Kacchi Biryani: Most people are familiar with Biryani, and Kacchi is like "dumm" Biryani where everything is cooked in a sealed pot. Bengali style... Fuchka - pani puri, but better in my opinion. Most items on the menu are traditional Bengali dishes (except for Butter chicken), and I would order almost any of them. Note: traditionally fish are cooked with bones... so you likely won't get a nice de-boned fillet. Despite asking for green chilis on the side and a couple snarky comments, my parents really liked it. First time having Bengali food and it was a delight. Pulao was delicious and pomfret fish very well seasoned. Albeit a bit on the small side for $15.99 combo price. I also really enjoyed the fuchka and tamarind sauce. I found the began vorta lacked depth of flavour and perhaps salt. It was also a bit too smoky or chalky tasting for me. Just not my thing. I prefer the Pakistani Baingan Bartha style much better However I am glad I tried several different items. Plenty more on the menu for me to experiment with. Adda, a gem that few friends introduced to me in Toronto. As a Bengali person, the last time I had authentic Bengali breakfast when I was in Bangladesh. We were greeted by the owner of the restaurant, Mohammed Rashid. A most humble restaurateur I have ever met. From the owner to waiter and waitress, the service was top notch. I took the vegetarian breakfast platter (mixed fruits, paratha, aloo bhaji (potatoes dish), fried egg, sweet polenta) with puska (pani puri) on the side. Adda was our first time eating Bengali food! We loved it! We flew into town from Oregon to visit my father's retirement home across the street. We wandered in looking for lunch and didn't except such a tasty meal. My wife and I shared the veggie singhara and Biye Bari. The singhara comes with two sauces that were delicious. We both likes the green sauce best. The Biye Bari chicken was super flavorful and tender enough to take apart with a butter knife. The interior is clean and stylish, and the service was excellent. I wish we discovered Adda earlier in our visit. read more

Went there for new years dinner with my family This is rip off.. Here what happened Ordered fish plate ( Promfret Fish Fry Meal ) . It was so small No even had one bite . It was the size of one sardine .. no even one bite if fish .. Curry chicken had one cube of chicken . Jus gravy We were given large amount of white rice but every dish had a lot of gravy but no meat Khashir Mangso Rezala a Goat dish. , had two pieces of meat but all bones .. Daal Bhorta .. was one spoon .. Haleem......... was a bowl of runny gravy nothing else in it . we keep ordering more dishes to see if the next one is gonna be better but they were all disappointing the least .. after spending more than 200.00 , we ended up leaving and ordering Pizza on our way home ... do not recommend at all ... Unfortunately, I had three unexpected experiences with their food in the last 2 years. Couple years back we ordered food and everything found okay except aloor chops which were stale. 2nd time got home delivery , and begun fry was so bitter and allergic for all of my family members. We called and they said they can't pay back but will provide complementary food which we didn't try to get. After those two incidences I didn't complain but the recent one so extreme which intended me to write the review. A week back my wife bought piyaju and it was kind of ok when we ate, after that I got severe diarrhea , nausea ; clearly some food poisoning. I was so week for 3 days , and had to stay home. As a Bengali person I/we always petronize our culture and food and also valued their good quality and service. However, after paying a handsome price value we are not getting good quality in aspect of hygiene and freshness. I believe the owner should take it seriously as it's not only me , my some other friends they also had some unexpected experiences. The best Bangladeshi food in Toronto so far. We went in to place an order and was greeted courteously. The menu was on the table, and we only ordered Beef Bhuna and Vegetable Labra. When we got back home and tried them with our home made roti, me and my wife, we were both pleasantly surprised how good they tasted. We have been living in TO for many many years and this is the best tasting food, outside of our home, so far. What a great find. Amazing Bengali food, my dining room is still fragrant with the scent of the aromatic pulao, that we ate with the delicious rezala; we also loved the biryani, the Haleem, the chicken roast, cholar dal, basically everything. I am from Windsor and went there after hearing about them on facebook. Now I am happy that I choose the right place. I liked fuchka, haleem and ginger tea best while piyazu was very good. The restaurant offers excellent environment and is very clean. The behaviour of people working there was excellent too. Perfect choice for adda.
