Finally came back to Mandarin for their Christmas buffet. My family and I used to go frequently for a special treat. It was nice to see the place was busy as ever with large parties celebrating birthdays, workplace holiday parties and families celebrating the holidays. The food quality has not gone downhill, in fact it might be even better than before. The service was top notch with all staff working together to provide the best customer service experience, from the manager, to the host, to our servers and other staff. We were greeted upon exit by friendly staff who provided a candy and thanked us for our visit. They had a seasonal Holiday Drink Menu with a blended drink called Happy Ho Ho Ho! It looked so festive when it was brought to the table. It was a blend of Piña Colada and Strawberry Freeze featuring Captain Morgan Rum served in a souvenir glass that you can take home. Also available in a Piña Colada and Mango Freeze mix. They also serve Royal Martinis, Mandarin Coffee with Baileys, Grand Marner and with a hint of chocolate, and non-alcoholic Blueberry Lychee Fizz. They even had salmon sashimi and real fish in their sushi, something previously not seen before. The hot food was fresh and constantly replenished even as it got closer to the end of the buffet time. All the favourites were there along with some traditional Chinese dishes. The dessert choices were so plentiful, it was was hard to choose which ones to have with limited real estate left in my tummy! I'll definitely be going back again and save more room next time for dessert.

I was pleasantly surprised by this buffet. They have a variety of dishes that is not typical for these types of buffets. There's a carving station, sushi, a variety of soups, salad bar, desserts, and your more traditional Chinese food. The hot towel they give you when you sit down is so nice! Staff is friendly and kept plates cleared from our table as we finished eating. We definitely enjoyed our meal.

Mandarin is a popular buffet choice with our friends especially during special occasions. We were here to celebrate a birthday, but they didn't have enough seating to accommodate our group; management was quick to fix the problem. I was very impressed on how the staff handled our large group. We were warmly greeted by the wait staff and there was always someone available to attend to our needs. Water was frequently topped off and dirty dishes promptly removed. On the way out, we were all thanked and given a complimentary pink mint from a pretty glass bowl. Food was ok, typical of an ayce Chinese buffet; however, their baked salmon with teriyaki sauce was a standout. My only complaint? Their gaudy, over-the-top decor.

My friends love this clean location and have been coming here for over now 10 years. I've joined them on a few occasions for the AYCE venue like tonight. The food is great, the service staff is excellent and there is something at the buffet to satisfy everyone; vegetarians, meat lovers, Sushi lovers, seafood regulars, etc. Desserts are also plentiful to fulfill that urge! Parking is free and reservations are recommended. Meal prices vary depending when you want to dine! Discount available for Seniors 65+ years of age.

Nothing has changed but!!!! But!!!!! You can now get a free meal on your birthday! You have to sign up at least a day before. I just thought someone would like that info because I wish I would have had it before I went.

Great food, and also JoJo! We loved the creme brule, the grilled chicken, and the ginger beef.

We made reservations in case but hardly a line unlike the experience at Dragon legend( had reservations but line up for it was still out the door and around building) It was busy but lots of food at the hot tables being refilled often, beverages refreshed and dishes from our table promptly removed. Service was attentive in the dining rooms and friendly by the hostess station. Lunch had enough items to be happy with, but it seemed like they altered the BBQ/Grill station to breakfast foods, like bacon and fried eggs and had a few empty slots where I remember had items previously. Highs: -Black peppered beef cubes very very tender and flavourful - fried noodles on point - tofu pudding dessert had a gingered sugar syrup to drizzle on top Lows: -peking duck seemed more hard instead of crispy skin - fried egg Left the restaurant very stuffed, kids were happy. They felt this buffet was decent and had more flavour than the buffet on Royal Caribbean. Was worth the trip here today, would return again.

I don't know why the hate for this place - perhaps in the classic buffet days the food was bad, but perhaps the shift to buffet at the table (aka a la carte buffet) improved the food quality greatly. The menu is actually reasonably 'authentic' - there isn't much Americanised Chinese food here. Hot & sour soup was decent. There was quite a lot stuff in it. It was quite spicy. The fried oyster was dry and didn't have much flavour. The BBQ spare rib was ok but was hard to eat with the provided plastic cutlery. Plus, the bone fragmented quite a bit which was unpleasant. The breaded shrimps were decent. Pan fried pork chop was a bit plain though it was fried pretty well. Lobster (for the weekend buffet - limit of 1) was a little small but was really good. Again plastic cutlery made eating this a pain. Salt & spicy shrimp was decent. Shrimp dumpling (har gao) was somewhat mushy - not good. Shrimp salad was just boiled shrimp with cocktail sauce; the shrimp was good quality but the style was a little boring. Steamed scallop with garlic came in its shell and was decent. Shanghai noodles was OK; the portion was a little too big for AYCE. The black pepper beef was decent. The curry fishball was awful - rubbery, with curry sauce that tasted like a mix of chili and something used to clean the kitchen. General Tso's chicken was so-so. It wasn't very crispy & had a bit too much dark soy sauce which threw off the balance with the sweet, sour & spicy flavour. The custard bun tasted pretty good - there was enough custard & it was rich, though it wasn't very liquid (even when hot it wasn't a liquid). The BBQ chicken leg was ok - it was crispy and had a soy sauce flavour. Salt & spicy squid was ok, though the squid was a bit soft. The steamed fish was surprisingly good - it was fresh, good quality fish & was quite fragrant. The green beans were fresh, light & retained their bounce, though they could have done with more smoky wok flavour. Sauteed cabbage with chili was decent. The spicy wings were only slightly spicy & were crispy & tasty. Fish-flavoured eggplant was pretty good (and I don't even like eggplant). It  was fragrant with a hint of spiciness. Honey garlic spare ribs were decent - a bit better than BBQ spare ribs, though a touch tough. The desserts weren't very good. Golden Wantons were just fried dough - crispy with a bit of sweet sauce. They were fresh and good. Mini cake was cheesecake but I could see the ice crystals - it hadn't been properly defrosted. It had been taken from the freezer and was dry. The biscuit wa a palmier and it wasn't flaky and was even a bit moist (i.e. bad). The cookie was so-so. The ice cream was green tea flavoured and was ok - there were some ice crystals but it tasted OK. Sweet taro tapioca was actually sago with taro and was okay. The sesame ball was ok - fresh & crispy but with not much stuffing, plus it was mung bean and only passable.

The take-out counter was open, so we opted for that instead. Most of the foods on display were ready-to-go and vegetarian / vegan. You can also order manakeesh (Lebanese flatbread topped with toppings such as cheese, spinach, and za'atar - akin to thin-crust pizza) to be made on site. We opted for the vegetarian mix-and-match plates, which came with either rice or salad, 5 small sides, and 3 falafels. Most of the items were pretty good, my favourites being the arnabeet (cauliflower), eggplant with chickpeas and tomato-based sauce, bamya (okra), and white cannellini beans salad. The warak enab (also called dolma or stuffed grape vine leaves) was flavourless and had too much ratio-to-grape vine leaves ratio (more rice inside that I'd like). The tabbouleh was way too salty. The other dishes were good though. Although the manakeesh was made fresh to order, it came out pretty fast. It was also extremely salty. There were a few small tables by the take-out counter, for those who wish to eat the take-out items on the spot. They packaged all the items very well to avoid leakage.

The restaurant is spacious - lots of seating available for small and large groups. It was a highlight for both of my sons when we took them here last year. My aunt made a reservation well in advance for us to sit at a long table near a window, as that's exactly where my grandfather would have enjoyed a meal with such a beautiful view. It was easy to park nearby, and the views of the lake from Bluffers Park were amazing. When arriving to the restaurant, any window had a wonderful view. While the tables that my aunt was envisioning weren't set up the way she envisioned upon arrival, but the staff did a great job rearranging tables to honor the request. We kept everything simple by having everything paid on one check. We ordered a large-sized portion of the Grilled Mediterranean Vegetable Platter, which is a combination of grilled peppers, grilled zucchini, grilled fennel, basmati rice, mixed olives, feta cheese, hummus, tzatziki, and pita bread. In addition to this, several of our family members ordered desserts or other appetizers and a variety of drinks. The iPad ordering system is a standout feature, allowing for fast, seamless service that keeps the food coming fresh to your table. While the atmosphere is lively and casual--perfect for large groups or families--it can get quite loud during peak hours. Overall, it's a reliable spot for diners prioritizing quantity, variety, and speed in a modern setting

We were 5 and went for a birthday. We had a reservation but they still made us wait for 15 minutes. They don't have many tables for 5. 95% of the tables are for 2 or 4. Who plans a restaurant that cannot accommodate groups of 5-8? Poor planning. Someone had to sit at the end of the table which means you're encroaching on the table next to you. Our table wasn't set up with plates, glasses, chopsticks or napkins and it took 10 minutes to flag someone down to request. They have staff members walking around, but being located in the back room means fewer people walk there. We chose the full package. You order sushi and meats through an iPad. There's a good selection of sushi and sashimi. I believe they're missing some rolls that are quite standard elsewhere but you can definitely find things. The meat selection is not great. They have beef, pork, chicken (only 2 choices and not great) and shrimp. The meat wasn't all that flavourful as it's not really marinated. Order the beef with garlic and you get a few slices of beef and they throw some garlic on top as they prepare it. If it were marinated it would taste a lot better. They're fast about being out the dishes. The tables are quite small, especially when they stick 5 people that's meant for a table for 4, so don't order too much at once or you will run out of space. They're quite slow with picking up dirty dishes and getting refills of drinks. You can try to flag them down but often they just ignore you. So, sushi was great. Bbq was poor. Service was lacking. Seating was terrible. 3 stars!
