This place checked off all the boxes- fast, delicious and a great value! Mogouyan Hand-Pulled Noodles was just what we needed to refuel for more waking in Toronto. Upon walking in, we were promptly seated by the hostess. We were given menus and shortly thereafter, our order was taken. I opted for the Cold Noodles with Sesame Sauce. This was the perfect dish. The noodle texture was bouncy and chewy. The Sesame Sauce was peanut based. There was also a second sauce at play at the bottom of the dish that mixed very well with the peanut sauce. There was also sliced picked carrots and cucumbers that added some crunch to the dish. The whole thing was just perfection, and I'm so glad I ordered it! To accompany my meal I also got their Passion Fruit non-caffeinated drink. This was a great compliment to the saltiness of the meal and provided some balance. It was served in a HUGE glass. I only got around to drinking about a sixth of it- so just know you get a lot of drink for your money. They also serve carafes of lemon water at the table, so you can stay hydrated as soon as you sit down. My guess is that most of the dishes are hot and spicy, so you'll probably need some extra water to quench your thirst. The space itself is small. It's long and narrow. But, when we went around dinner time, there were still plenty of spots. The price was excellent. For my husband and I to get two entrees and two drinks, it ran us about $34 USD- not bad for such a great deal- oh, and the portion was HUGE. Give Mogouyan Hand-Pulled Noodles a try- it's an all-around gem!
Amazing affordable dishes with exceptional quality. Nothing compares to mogoyuan for the price point that you are paying. Comforting food at an affordable price.
Delicious and solid noodles! We got to Toronto late and this was one of the only places open, great for a quick casual meal
Came here for their braised beef noodle soup: asked for spicy level of medium but it wasn't really spicy (they do have a jar of hot sauce on the table that you can use), I made a mistake and requested the widest noodle - not my favorite because it is too thick and I felt like I'm just eating gluten after a few bites. But the braised beef was good, tender meat, nice flavor and generous portion. Quite chill place with a very diverse clientele.
Omg.. the first night arriving in Toronto, especially on Yonge Street, and there were so many food places to choose from! I decided I wanted some comfort food and saw Mogouyan was nearby to the hotel we were staying. Called in an order and walked to pick up! They had everything packaged and ready to go when we got there! The broth was amazing, the beef was tender and hand pulled noodles?! What? They were thick, and fresh, and delicious! I was either really hungry or loved everything I got here! We loved it so much, I didn't mind it again the next night and went back for more! We decided to eat in the restaurant this time cause nothing beats it coming out hot and fresh! Wish we had something like this back in the states!
The beef noodle soup was ok. I did not enjoy the potato salad at all. The seaweed was good. I honestly cannot remember the name of the other dish we ordered but it was not very memorable. The passion fruit refresher was really good!!
It was either this or a katsu place, I'm happy that my friend chose this place because this was one of my favourites during my trip in Toronto. My husband and I were staying at the Four Seasons in Yorkville, so this place was just walking distance to us. Parking can be hard as it is downtown. The restaurant isn't big, it's very narrow and the tables are quite small. I wasn't able to take a picture of the food menu as I got busy catching up with an old friend. But we ordered: * Squid Tentacles -- very flavourful, a little chewy though. * Beef Spicy Skewers -- again, very flavourful. Super soft and so so delicious. This is a must try! * Mango Juice -- the name on the menu is pretty long but it's just mango juice. Really refreshing and not overly sweet! And it came in a huge glass! * Signature stir fried noodles -- OH MY GOSH. THE NOODLES ARE COOKED TO PERFECTION. I don't know the best way to describe this, but please order this when you go. The portion is huge, so I ended not finishing my food. Ever since I tried this place, I've been looking forward to eating it again. I wish we had something similar in Hawaii. The service was great, very attentive and we came around 1:30pm, so there weren't many people. But if you do visit Toronto, check this place out! Definitely worth it!
Amazing hand pulled noodles... The layers of flavors were incredible We tried one in the broth I wanted to bottle the broth! Then we also tried dry noodle with minced pork. Noodles were slightly undercooked. The cold shredded chicken blew my mind as well as left me, wondering if I had a food allergy until I realized it was the tingling/numbing sensation of the Szechuan peppercorn !!
MOGOUYAN HAND PULLED NOODLE . . first time trying and was not disappointed! The store is rather small, so we had to wait around 5mins for lunch on a Saturday which really isn't bad at all. . . Hand shredded pepper chicken 4/5 It was really flavourful and yummy. The sauce was very addicting Classic beef noodle 3.75/5 spice was lacking a lot... but the noodles are very chewy and delicious Tomato flavoured stir fried noodles with beef 4.5/5 the noodles were very chewy and fresh. I loved the tomato flavour and the beef was nice and tender. You can really taste the "wok hay" with this dish.
I came by on a super rainy and cold day so I was craving some warm soup noodles. This location has a dining area towards the back of the restaurant and fits ~30 seats. I ordered a regular size braised beef noodle with regular noodles and mild spice. The texture of the noodles were bouncy and tasted hand made. The flavour of the broth was really heartwarming especially for a cold day. The beef seemed a bit mediocre to me as I think it could've used more seasoning. Overall, this is a nice pulled noodle place that is a great alternative to ramen and super accesible by transit (right outside Bloor-Yonge).
I am a complete sucker for hand-pulled noodles and Mogoyuan offers some very satisfying lunch dishes for us during our visit in Toronto. We came by around 12:00 and luckily it wasn't too busy. The restaurant has limited seating so it's better to come with a party of 2-4 for optimal seating. We ordered the Vegetable Stir-Fried Noodles ($17) and Cold Sesame Noodles ($15) to share. Both were vegan friendly which made it perfect for our diet, and both dishes were fabulous. The stir-fry dish was just the right amount of spicy with tender vegetables that left a good numbing sensation in our mouthes. The sesame noodles were great and the perfect contrast with the spicy hot noodles. The noodles were devoured in no time and we left feeling vert satisfied. Hand-pulled noodles are the future and need to be available more often. read more
3.5 stars rounded down. Was stuck at yonge/bloor when the subway was flooded so popped in for dinner on a Wednesday night. There were lots of tables and no wait. The place sells classic Lanzhou beef noodles. I ordered their hand- shredded pepper chicken and a braised beef noodle with their thickest noodle option. I picked regular spicy for the noodles. The chicken had decent flavour and despite the small plating it has more chicken than it looks. The combination with peppers and onions added an extra layer of texture to the dish The braised beef noodle was subpar unfortunately. The spicy level turned out to be practically zero, there were only 2 thin slices of daikon radish Nd no other greens. It could definitely use bigger pieces of beef and more pieces for the price. Overall the dinner was disappointing, read more

Saw this in the area wanted to try, I got the Dan Dan noodles I was a big fan of Dan Dan noodles in food ranger in china the noodles has a strong peppercorn flavour I ordered medium spicy, good texture on noodles massive portion, nice heap of chilli oil, service was so quick mind you there weren't any customers, overall not bad but it's not my cup of tea, read more
Their noodles are so good and addicting that I can't believe they don't put drugs in them. Top tier Lanzhou style noodles at this place! Their sauce, flavours, and noodles are all knockouts and a must try! Portions are also very large and prices are so worth it. Special highlight to their stir fried noodles, their spice and sauce combo is so incredibly amazing I don't even know how to describe it. Their fried noodles are amazingly savory, while their tomato flavoured stir fry noodles have an added sweetness. I love me some sauce so this is a mandatory dish you get when you visit! Their side dishes and skewers are also awesome. If you're into the Lanzhou style (spicy, cumin, fennel) then this is for you! Every dish is perfect. It just is. My only regret is that I don't live closer to this noodle place, otherwise I would actually be going here all the damn time. read more
Needed some noodle soup for the chilly weather. Got hand pulled beef noodles with pickled mustard greens. Full of beefy flavor, noodles had perfect chewiness and pickled veggies helped break up texture/flavor. Beef super tender. I tried my boyfriend's beef stew noodle and which was good too but I preferred my noodles more. Lamb skewers melted in your mouth and was seasoned well. Happy surprise to see childhood candies with the bill. Servers were super nice too! read more
When you think of hand pulled noodles, the majority of people think the dish itself will be ramen, PHO, or some type of noodle soup. This place has hand pulled noodles, but on top of the expected soup dishes, they have stir-fried noodle dishes! Their signature stir-fried noodles can be had with beef, chicken, vegetables or shrimp (or a combo) while the same can be had for their tomato flavored stir-fried noodles, basically a Chinese spaghetti dish! read more

As a noodle fiend, I definitely had to check this place out while visiting Toronto. We luckily got the last two-person table and were seated immediately. We got the Dan Dan noodles with wide flat noodles and the Signature stir-fried noodles with vegetables. The Dan Dan wide noodles were a great chewy texture, and the noodles soaked up the sauce flavors really well. It was a little too spicy for me though (I'm kind of weak). The stir-fried noodles were the star of the show in my opinion. The flavors were soooo good and addicting. The noodles and vegetables were cooked perfectly. Honestly one of the best noodle dishes I've had. read more
Loved their pepper chicken appetizer! They offer a lunch promo where you get an appetizer and a noodle dish! The noodle dish I picked is usually 13$, so the lunch promo is an amazing offer. Pepper chicken appetizer: 9/10, comes drenched with house made hot sauce and onions. Spicy beef noodle soup: 7/10, big portion with flavourful meat, the soup was a little blend though read more

Got the Braised Beef Noodles with classic noodles at spice level 1 ($18.95 for the large) and the spicy lamb skewers ($7.95). The spice level 1 is only a little spicy and it's a good amount of heat for someone who doesn't want something super spicy. The lamb skewers were pretty good too - very well seasoned but still juicy. The noodle dish is very flavorful, the beef is tasty, the noodles have a good texture, and the portion size is great. The service is good and there's a decent amount of seating in the restaurant (maybe around 20 seats). Overall, would recommend, particularly if you are craving something warm and soupy. Perfect for a cold winter day! read more

Got the basic beef noodles extra spicy with the flat noodles and it did not disappoint! It came out very hot with a good amount of beef but actually I felt no kick of spice. The broth was very flavourful and the chili oil added another element of tastiness! The noodles were good too but I preferred if they were a little flatter as they were quite thick. Still, I enjoyed the bowl of noodles. Service was quick. read more
We ordered the tomato flavored toppings dry noodles (with chicken), bean jelly and classic beef noodles. Didn't really like the dry noodles - felt like it had a weird taste... the classic beef noodles were nothing special either - can definitely order similar dishes elsewhere. The only remediating dish was the "bean jelly" - not sure why it's called that in English but it's basically this "jelly-like" noodle dish that's seasoned with sesame oil and cilantro. Pretty good but also I might be biased since I think it's an amazing combo (it's probably hard to go wrong with this cold dish anyway). Also it's not a very big place but somehow was almost totally full at around 5:15pm already but it was a Sunday so maybe that's why... just be prepared for a potential wait read more
I rushed here late night to grab some food before the restaurant closed. I placed my order to go and it was ready in minutes. The noodles were packaged separately from the beef and the portion size was enough for two servings. I later combined the broth and fresh noodles to reheat. Once I sat down to eat, I began to revel in the rich savory flavors I was experiencing. The braised beef was so tender and the broth had a well developed serious flavor profile. Even fresh green onions and other herbs floated around on top. I loved everything about this dish and was left wanting more. read more

The staff were welcoming and the restaurant atmosphere/ambience was nice - similar if not identical to it's new Dundas location but a lot less spacious. I ordered the garlic seashell scallops and a large size of their classic beef noodles with thick-round noodles. You can choose the thickness and roundness/flatness of the noodles among 5 different levels. The flavor was there for both dishes but they were also a tad-bit too salty for my liking, especially the scallops. The garlic paste they put on top overpowered the scallop and the vermicelli with too much salt. The classic beef noodles were significantly better in comparison in terms of saltiness but the beef itself weren't full pieces. There were a few on top that were whole pieces but the majority were bits and pieces that seemed overly shredded. It was hard to eat. But the noodles were great, I wish I'd gotten a flatter less thick noodle but I loved the flavoring of the noodles with the broth. It was balanced and didn't feel like it was too much. They also offered a pair of scissors to cut the noodles because they were pretty long. The portions are also very large in portion when I ordered the large. Overall, I think my rating is mostly because I didn't like what I ordered and if I had ordered differently, my rating for this location would have been higher. I tried stir fried noodles at a different location and I I preferred those to the soup noodles. The noodles itself are delicious in both. read more
I saw great reviews on Yelp so I wanted to check this place for lunch. I think I saw some reviews saying they had lunch specials, but this location unfortunately does not. It was relatively empty when I went, and the server was quick to show me to my seat and take my order. I got the Braised Beef Noodles and honestly, it took a grand total of maybe 5 minutes to get my order. The Braised Beef Noodles was good in terms of noodle and flavour. Good portions and definitely filling. There wasn't anything really noteworthy to say, but it was a decent bowl of noodles. read more
Mogouyan is a solid pick if you're looking for a cheap sit-down eat near Yonge and Bloor. The noodles are hand-pulled - if you peek into their window from the outside, you'll see them being pulled before your eyes. My server and the table beside me both recommended either the Mogouyan Beef Noodle Bowl or the Dan Dan Noodles. I tried the former and found it to be pretty decent. While I enjoyed this meal, I would say that you'll get more flavour from a similar dish by getting a bowl of ramen, though Mogouyan still does the trick. read more

Man.... Went to the other and happened to come here cause my flight was cancelled. Just as satisfying and delicious as the other Mogouyan. The thick noodles are so chewy and satisfying. Another hand pulled noodle place just like GB and Four Four South Village! Located right outside the Bloor Yonge Station, Mo Gou Yan is a popular chain from China that serves the original LanZhou soup noodles, braised beef soup noodles, and a variety of sauce and stirfried options. You choose the type of noodle you want. Personally i like the medium wide noodles because it is chewier and can better reflect the chefs kneading skills. This time though, i had the braised beef broth noodle with a thin noodle choice (server's recommendation). Each table gets a jug of ice cold lemon water, which was good for cleansing my palate after a few hot sips of broth. There is no MSG taste imo, and the beef broth tastes very authentic. The beef is also very flavourful and the spices reveal themselves with each chew. I found that the 花椒 (spice) was the right amount of numbing; satisfying but not overpowering. Even though it was hot outside, the steam of the noodles cleansed my insides and had me breaking out in a good like of sweat. One thing to mention is that the noodles were not eye-opening as the highlight of the dish. Although they were not soggy nor stringy, they could have been taken out a tad earlier because i enjoy springy noods over well done noods. But thats just me. Oooh, what really stood out was the sliced radishes on the top of the bowl. Yum! The refreshing taste helps to cut the fatty rich taste of the meat and broth. 3 slices is perfectly enough~ The interior of the restaurant is simple and neat, and fully makes use of the long and narrow space. Good for eating alone, or a with a couple of friends. I will come for the 炸酱面 (noodles with pork sauce) next time! read more
