    Chanterelle Fried Rice without egg

I've been here a few times and I always get the Chanterelle Fried Rice. I love the flavour and spice of the fried rice but they've recently changed it to add peppercorn to the dish. We were told it was in the dish which we were ok with but it was a bit overpowering. Tried the Assorted Vegetables on Crispy Rice for the first time, they bring out the dish with the crispy rice and pour the piping hot vegetables on top as it sizzles and softens it. This tasted pretty good but I still prefer the fried rice more in terms of flavour. Also got the Assorted Marinated Platter which was a nice side dish to eat with the fried rice. The restaurant is a decent size with seating inside and outside in the walkway of Metro Square. Service is good, food comes quickly. There's only a couple employees so you may see tables with dishes yet to be cleared, but don't let that out you off, they have some tasty food options even if you're not vegetarian/vegan.

Casual Chinese Vegetarian Fare Come here for semi-casual vegetarian dining, located inside/exterior of New Century Plaza next to Metro Square. If you're not veg primarily but still want to have some food with decent flavors, come here. Service: Decent service, seems like a mom/pop shop type of situation. Food: BBQ Lion's Mane Mushroom Skewers - comes in an order of 4. Good seasoning and chew/bite to the mushroom skewer. (4/5) Chilled Tofu with Century Egg - Can't wrong with this dish. Chinese classic staple food right here. (4/5) Fennel Dumplings: Pretty good.. They're boiled dumplings. Good umami flavor in this one. (4/5) Assorted Veggie hot pot - Decent - good flavor and enough saltiness to mask the taste of veggies (gross veggies) (4/5) Chanterelle Fried Rice - Good portion for sharing, good flavor. Also v umami. (4/5) Overall good food/decent service, we sat outside though in the mall hallway cause it was so busy. But nonetheless. We come back. No pic of the hot pot we got cause they sold out of the one we wanted :(

Came for a vegetarian dinner to reduce my recent meat-only diet guilt. The dumplings are excellent, the Sichuan cold noodles are also worth ordering. The mushu-mushroom wrap is a definite order item, I don't think I've had a better vegetarian version anywhere else. If you're looking for a light dinner that's healthy and easy on your GI system, this is it.

I came here with my family this time, probably due to Summer holiday, many people are travelling, that's why the restaurant was not full on Saturday night. The imitation fried eel is obviously a popular dish as every table ordered one and we too! It's delicious! We ordered the combo with quail eggs, seaweeds, bean curd sheet roll, mushroom and sliced tofu, it was equally good. But both times same comments on the deep fried enoki mushrooms, it was too fried thus no enoki taste and a bit oily. It's considered a bit pricey as 3 of us spent CAD100 for dinner.

This vegetarian restaurant has new varieties of dish. The eel dish is signature dish in this restaurant and it is made of shiitake mushroom. The congee is good. The bbq lion main mushroom skewers has good flavour. Just don't expect the texture is meat and won't be disappointed. The down side is there is only 1 server in the restaurant . The washroom is shared with the mall and has to walk at the end of the mall. Parking in the mall and can be quite busy on Friday night around 7pm Each person pays $30 include tips and tax with 7 dishes with 5 person to share.

We had high hopes for this place, but we did not enjoy our visit as much. The staff was unsure of the menu and had to go back several times to the kitchen to verify. The food was decent, but maybe we ordered the not so popular things. We felt it had a bitter after taste. I may give it another attempt and try something else.

Glad I stumbled upon this little veggie nook. Very flavorful dishes, quick service and nice ambiance. This will be my go to vegan restaurant from now on

The food was sooo good and pretty. Although the place is a bit small and packed, it's totally worthy to pay a visit.

Both the coconut curry and tamarind coconut red curry have very rich, creamy, and flavourful sauces. We had the spice level mild for both dishes, but that was still too hot for me, personally. That has nothing wrong to do with the dishes, but just my personal tolerance level. The coconut curry was a treat to eat. The pork jowl was very gummy and chewy. There was also a fried, battered leaf in the dish to provide a crunchy texture to the dish. The tamarind curry was equally as good. The braised beef was a little sweet and tender. There are also nuts in the dish to provide that crunchy texture. The tofu spring rolls we ordered provided much needed relief from the spiciness of the curry dishes. I would have some spring rolls in between to help subside the spicy sensation of the chilis. The spring rolls was surprisingly filling. Our group of 2 was not able to finish all of the tofu rolls and had to take some home. We ended the dish with a delightful order of mango sticky rice. It was another order that helped counteract the the spicy, burning sensation my tongue was having. We appriciated the vibe and look of the place. There were properly thought out furnishings around the space and the walls. Service was also top tier. Our waiter was very patient explaning the dish description, the spice levels, and also saying how the dish is pronounced.

We were late 15 mins and they called to follow up. We got a booth seats. It's really cozy. It's sports pub style, especially now FIFA World Cup happening. We took a little bit time to figure out the menu. The Khao Soi with egg noodles was so popular, it's curry sauce with your choice of meat. And Green curry with Rice was good too. I love Green Curry because it has bamboo shoots. They were both really tasty, and the curry comes with Jasmine rice in heart shaped. We also ordered a kid meal, included main dish as our choice of deep fried Fish, drink as Lychee Juice and the dessert as Mango Ice Cream. We got the cheese cake as my husband's birthday gift on the house. They also sang a birthday song to him. So impressive with all these. We really love to come here again.

Noodles came out piping hot, perfectly chewy and with a generous amount of huge pieces of chicken. The pad see mao was so fragrant with the basil leaf. Both had thick crunchy vegetables to contrast the chewy noodle. The beef was nice and tender. Who doesnt love a good crispy chicken skin?! For $6, we got a huge portion of chicken skin, we almost couldnt believe it. Thought they brought out the next size up by mistake. It came with a pickled cucumber vinegary sauce that was delicious when used to soak the white rice that came with the pad gra prow (which was super spicy thanks to the heavy use of Thai chill). The chicken nuggets were okay, wish they were less dense. The pineapple fried rice had notes of curry, lots of cashew and the juiciest chunks of pineapple. Great service despite the server spilling fish sauce on my arms and pants. But overall would visit again.

Our kid dropped his spoon and we weren't going to ask for another one but our server came back with a new one. We ordered some of the regular dishes that we like (so that we could make comparisons) such as: chicken satay, pad, Thai, panang curry, morning glory and khao soi. We also ordered thre crispy pork with veggies. Overall we really enjoyed the food. The taste and quality was right up there with our other faves. Their crispy pork was nicely done and didn't feel greasy. The only thing that we would change is the saltiness. Beautiful loungy decor, tinted windows, mood lighting..but somethtng threw me off immediately. The floors were slippery throughout the restaurant.. as if the floors were coated in grease. At first glance, the tables looked clean. But when you sat down and got a closer look, you can see the remnants of the ring of a plates and cups. The tables have not been wiped clean. At least I can say that about the 10 person table I sat on. I would expect that from a food court or a fast food restaurant but shouldnt be seen here. The server was friendly. Took our orders and asked about allergies, was attentive and brought out the food timely. Didnt have to wait to be seated for lunch. Moving on to the food. We tried the following: Green curry with fish was rich with a coconut milk base and a mild spice. Came with thai eggplant halves, green peppers slices and crunchy baby corn. Went great with the soft white fish. Very flavorful. Couldve came with a bit more rice. Pad thai with chicken was standard against other thai restaurants in the area. Good portion and large sized chicken and tofu pieces. Not heavy on the beansprouts which was a plus for me. Pad see mao was very flavourful. Always prefer this style thick noodle to the simpler pad see ew as it has more flavor and spice vs just soy sauce. Neat to see the whole peppercorn still on the stem. Papaya salad was great! Thin slices of perfectly ripe papaya with mini shrimps and topped with peanuts. The fish sauce dressing had great balance. Pineapple fried rice was presented beautifully in a carved out pineapple! Only down side to that is it became a space filler! Regardless, it was delicious. Great amount of spice. A generous amount of crispy pork belly. Big chunks of the sweetest most refreshing pineapple mixed into the piping hot rice. Grilled pork jowl was ok. Thinly sliced and had chewy texture. Came out with a balanced chili sauce to break through the fatty meat. Thai iced teas were too sweet. Was disapointed that they did not have the typical strong tea flavor. Even the color alone was telling. It was mainly milk and sugar. Was more sweet and icy than anything else. Overall the food was great yet I couldnt get over the greasy floors and that tables arent wiped down thouroughly between customers. Really hoping that was a one off. Because for a sit down restaurant serving great food with those price ranges, its disappointing.
