Yummy .. must try I like the special Thai Masaman curry beef Brisket noodle & Thai chicken noodle soup

The Thai boat noodles weren't boat noodles. The noodles were wrong (too thick) & the taste was off (though it was decent on its own terms). The noodles were also rather soft. There was an above average amount of tripe & the balls were pretty springy.  The green Thai milk tea looked, had the texture of & tasted like matcha with a hint of Thai milk tea flavour. There wasn't enough condensed milk either.

3.75/5 is my real rating. The "restaurant" is on the top floor of Pacific Mall in the less crowded food court section. Even though it is less crowded, finding seats for more than a few people is always a challenge. Pacific Mall has to put in more seating for food...it's been years and the problem still exists. Aside from the seating issue, the service at Siam is very attentive and they even accept credit cards! My dish was very fragrant with tons of fresh herbs and the soup was very hot. But it lacked depth of flavour, I expected to be overwhelmed by rich deep flavours with sour and spice but it was just okay. I love noodle dishes but I didn't like the actual noodles in this dish. I know it is traditional but I would have preferred a broad rice noodle, pho noodle or egg noodle. I don't like the round vermicelli type of noodles. Siam is a good option for those who want something different than Chinese food at Pacific Mall.

Service is great. Beef noodle is tasty, portion is big with meat and noodle. Beef brisket would be better if made even softer.

Today was Tuesday, so we were good to go. The promo was $25 including 1 bowl of noodle, 1 bowl of clay pot rice with meat and 1 of snack dishes. We could choose them from the special menu. We chose the beef noodle soup, chicken & mushroom clay pot with soup, and the snack was the deep fried wonton. The wonton was great, so delicious and my little one loved it so much; the beef noodle soup was ok, but only a few pieces of beef and radish; the clay pot was the most I like, when I put the soy sauce in, the pot was boiling. That's so nice. That also caused the crackers at the bottom. That's really amazing. We also got a little bowl of the seaweed soup for the clay pot. So nice. This special deal was so good that enough for all of us. Next time, I would like to try other options.

The Lanzhou noodles had a great chewy texture and tasted super fresh. The claypot rice was warm, savory, and had that nice crispy bottom layer which made it extra satisfying. Portions are generous and the flavors feel very authentic and comforting -- like a home-cooked meal. It's a great budget-friendly option in Markham, especially if you're dining with a friend or partner. Definitely a hidden gem for cheap eats. Would recommend if you're craving noodles and claypot rice without spending too much!

If you're not a fan of natural fish flavours, this might not be the spot for you. But for me, I love the fullness of the soup, and how all the flavours provide a hearty and comforting meal. They also have tomato base, spicy or other options if you're not a fan of fish, but my favorite is probably the original fish broth base. It comes with pieces of white fish. You can also switch it up and have it come with other ingredients such as fish tofu, or brisket. Definitely recommend to come try. There is a bit of a wait often when I come on the weekend but service is quick and speedy, in a typical hk-Asian style. The space is also a converted house so the layout is a bit odd and a bit hot in some corners, but manageable. If you cannot do steep steps, ask the servers to have you seated on the main level.

I'll probably have to try the sweet and sour pork in-house next time. Do not sleep on the salted egg yolk chicken wings either. Everything was so good. Service is very fast, they are very fast paced and you can notice they work hard. Ambiance is very cool, they have a very old school chinese vibe going on. Also, when I came back with my parents, they loved all their dishes! Trust me that really says something!
