The guy I was talking to while in line for food at another restaurant told me that Big Trio was the spot in the Markham area for wonton. He was not wrong. I went there 2 times in the 3 days. Service was good both times I went in. They remembered me as "the vacationer" during my second visit. They serve both wontons and Cantonese style dumplings here. Both the wontons and dumplings were huge and filled with meat and shrimp. The wontons were very good, maybe better than anything in California. I got takeout both time I went. They packed it nicely. It's a good place. Good people!
Family favourite! Fast, affordable and delicious! Casual Chinese fast food. LOVE this wonton noodle place! Service is super fast and food just hits the spot. The shop is not too big and often is packed. At big tables, you may be asked to share a table with strangers -- as you would do in Asia. Tight corners here, and not very accessible. Highly recommend the classic wonton noodle bowl, stand veggies with oyster sauce, and deep fried fish skin. The food is so nostalgic, and they really do have some of the BEST wontons in the GTA!
Classic Hongkongness style noodle in soups satisfying my cravings for wonton, and their homemade spicy sauce are so amazing, perfect match the wonton! The staffs are friendly and they have hongkong style service The serving time is very short and it is alike Hong Kong wonton restaurants!! The inside of restaurant has great atmosphere which let me thinks of Hong Kong! Superrr recommend for those wanna try shrimp want!!
Very classic-tasting soup base. The dumplings were very large. If you're wondering what they put in their dumplings, they had large pieces of shrimp and mushroom. Very reasonably priced at just $10 per bowl. The staff members were very nice and service was quick.
Usually I don't give a 5 for a chain restaurant , but based how much my husband and I enjoyed the noodle soup, it's a 5. Nice atmosphere, not fancy, needs a little freeing up, very clean, the kitchen was clean. The portion size of the meal was good. The brisket was tender, had a nice amount of meat to fat ratio. If it's too lean it's not as tender or flavourful. This was good. It had a bit of tendon attached. I was so happy. The wonton was big , but only had 4. The wontons were delicious. We had the thin noodle in the soup. It was not home made noodle. , but very delicious. I wanted to know the brand. Service was excellent, the tea was refilled quickly. The meal came without delay. Not many customers as it was getting close to close. Meals might take a few more minutes at meal times. The servicer saw we were new customers and came over to be sure we enjoyed the meal after we finished. The cook wanted to know if I enjoyed the brisket. This is a place I would recommend, a place I we will return to and bring friends.
Comforting wonton noodle soup! When you're looking for comforting cheap eats, this is the place! They're a busy establishment with people coming here to grab a quick bite - in and out! Their bowls of wonton noodle soup come out quickly right after you order. The menu is simple with options of noodle choice and topping choices. I opted for the wonton egg noodle soup with brisket - always a winner in my books. The brisket is always nice and tender, complemented with the clear hearty soup. The shrimp wontons have a bouncy texture that is always nice. I also always get the fried fish skin on the side for dunking into the soup - it's delicious and a must get! Also can't forget about the veggies on the side for only $5 - why not!? Staff are friendly and quick to serve you here. Stick to all the classics you can't go wrong!
Ordered the shrimp wonton with beef brisket to go. $14.70 for two kinds. Well worth the $. The broth is packed with flavourful and the toppings are delicious. Will order again if in the area!
Located in Langham Square plaza across from New Kennedy Square, the parking is not the best but luckily there's parking in the underground garage. The resto itself is like 10 tables and turnover is super fast. Wonton noodles: Fresh egg noodles and wontons. The egg noodles are springy and firm, comparable to Jim Chai Kee and the wontons are packed and taste great but I still prefer JCK for my wonton noodles. Dumplings in soup: Nice and plump. And the wood ear mushrooms added a really nice crunch to the filling. I wouldn't order this again but it was tasty. Beef brisket rice noodle soup: Ok so the brisket was tender and the noodles were nice and slippery. My mom can definitely make a way better broth though. It was slightly on the bland side for me. Maybe cuz her soup is just so damn rich, salty and umami. On the menu they should also change it to beef brisket and TENDON noodle soup because I literally got like 2 pieces of brisket and the rest of my bowl was filled with tendons. I love me some tendons but be careful if you want brisket, you might have to specify to the waitress you don't want any tendons. Pricing-wise, I do feel like these wonton noodle joints are starting to creep up into the "not worth it territory" if I'm being honest. Any item at these joints should always remain under $10 no matter how much inflation hits the resto. Right now the items at this place sit at $10. As it stands, I'd give this place 4 stars. Doesn't beat JCK on quality which is why JCK gets 5 stars from me even though both places inflated their prices astronomically.
Fave place to grab a quick meal of wonton noodles! This place never disappoints really. A solid bowl of noodles and your choice of toppings like MASSIVE shrimp wontons, beef brisket/tendon, fish balls, dumplings, and more. You can also order their dumplings frozen which is for perfect hotpot at home. Workers are friendly and efficient as well. COVID protocols are followed here!
Bang-average. Located in Langham Square, usually quite busy any day of the week given there's a T&T in the plaza. I really like the wonton noodle places albeit they are a bit rare in Markham. It's always consistent, reliable and fast. What it isn't now, is cheap. For a quick Dace Fish Ball Noodle in Soup, is a whole $9 now. To be completely honest, for what you're getting, it really isn't value and for me is now just a once in a while guilty pleasure. There really isn't much to write about in terms of taste since, you kind of know what to expect. Some good noodles and some good fish balls. Nothing exceptional, nothing bad either.
Wow I just realised I have not been back here since they changed their name and that has been a while! I totally forgot about the shrimp wonton noods. Finally came to eat here recently and Big Trio is still serving piping hot noodles. I got the two items with flat rice noodle. I ordered the shrimp wonton and cuttlefish balls. A lot of patrons around us were ordering the beef brisket and dace fish balls. I definitely want to come back to try their dace balls next time. Overall this place serves up my comfort food in a great way and very constant quality each time. If you ever craving a wonton noodle and such, this is the place :)

This place has a lot to like, with fast service with reasonable pricing to delicious classic hk style noodles. I definitely can get my fix of hk noodles here! A nice simple menu thats easy to understand and straight forward. Wontons definitely are very plump and filled with fresh ingredients. I personally prefer the pork and shrimp dumplings because I find them to be more flavourful given theres pork in it as well as wood ear which gives it that textural contrast. Either way, both are well composed and good balance in flavour. Can taste the shrimp throughout with a hint of chinese seasoning and sweetness. The noodles are well cooked. I like the yellow noodles with my wontons, but would opt for the flat noodles if I'm ordering beef brisket. Both are nicely cooked and not mushy/ overcooked that it splits apart. In terms of the brisket, nice big chunks and tender as well. The soup base for this is very fragrant and I honestly can probably drink it all. Nice beef flavours with soy. Rich but not oily or heavy. The beef stomach, which is a love of mine, is texturally present with a good chew but still soft to eat. Highly recommend if you like the offals! They also make dace fish balls and cuttlefish balls, which both are springy and full of the flavours as described. A nice change. Lastly, I highly recommend their jajang noodles, which is a mildy spicy meat sauce with their noodles. It has a hint of spiciness from the chili oil, but also some sweetness shining through, then a little bit of sour which completes the dish! Good pork pieces and I believe some mushrooms to add to the flavours. Well marinated and flavoured overall. Would definitely come back. Even for takeout it's quite hot and keeps temperature well. Everything is fresh too and so great option for a quick meal any time of the day.
I haven't had a nice wonton noodle soup in a long time So I decided to come here for my fixings. I ordered their two item noodle soup. 1st item: beef brisket 2nd item: wontons The beef brisket was very touch and not tender at all The wonton had an amazing shrimp flavour. The broth was kinda bland at first. Not a good start. But As I continued to finish my meal. I must say the soup broth, the egg noodles and shrimp wontons got better and better with each mouthful bite. The beef brisket was still tough I recommend you avoid this item. Overall all, upon finishing my meal I was thoroughly pleased with this experience. I will be back and recommended for their wontons, again recommend avoiding the beef brisket. read more
Big Trio Wonton is a quick and easy spot for satisfying wonton noodles. The wontons are generously sized, and the noodles have a good texture with the right bite. While it may not be the best-value wonton place in Markham, it definitely stands out for flavor and overall quality. My uncle comes with his in-laws every Sunday and raves about this place so I had to give it a try. Wontons were so good, noodles had the perfect amount of chew. My mom liked their spicy chili oil so much that we bought a few jars to bring back as souvenirs. Food here was really comforting, no wonder my uncle comes every week! read more

Typical Chinese noodle shop. Good value for money and wonton noodle soup is only $9 when compared to other places where prices go as high as $12. All their dumplings are big and fresh. Well known for their minced fish balls and fried fish skins If you're in the area, definitely worth a visit read more

This review is based on Food Delivery Service Uber Eats during Pandemic. Love the rebranding. No longer call Wonton Chai but Big Trio is just as good or better! The food I ordered was well packed! Everything looked clean. Red vinegar and chili oil were included without me requesting. Their house made chili oil is the best! Food is good as usual. I really missed my Wonton Noodle as I used to have it once a week before Covid 19. read more
Yummy wontons!! They have a variety of traditional wonton noodle soups...egg noodle and flat rice noodles. Service was great. Cash only. They are in a shopping complex so there's parking but you'll likely need to circle till you find a spot. They also have fish skins and beef tendon...all delicious read more
One of the fastest services at a restaurant but I'm not surprised because they have a more specialized menu. I really enjoyed my shrimp wonton noodles ($9) as the noodles tasted fresh and aldente, the shrimp were juicy and the wontons were enormous read more

Excellent fast service and the type of food exactly as expected. The menus are integrated underneath the surface of the tables...Genius! Good servings of wonton, dumplings, beef brisket, or whatever else they offer with your noodles. They have FRIED FISH SKIN! Awesome!!! Can't go wrong with this place! They're so polite here! Same as the other location I frequent it is amazing for what it is. I brought le boyfriend with me since this is the only location that is open today. I feel like my only complaint is - if he wanted to order 3 toppings he can not make two of them beef brisket. They have to be three DIFFERENT toppings. Let be real tho, can really complain about it because it's amazing for the price it is. Service was quick, food was fantastic and I always recommend this chain to anyone who will listen! read more

Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. Limited menu, but everything they make is amazing. The tender beef flank slices, stewed beef brisket, and signature shrimp wonton are all flavorful and refined in texture. These rival the best I've ever tried in Hong Kong. But if you can only try one thing -- make sure you try their amazing shrimp dumplings. This is a step above their other excellent options and an unforgettable experience. This is so juicy, the shrimp has the perfect bounce, the wood ear provides a nice small counterpoint to the saltiness, and the dumpling skin is perfectly thin and silky. Probably a destination dish if you are looking for a taste of Hong Kong. All of this is at extremely reasonable prices and nice portion sizes. Definitely make a visit to this or any of their other locations if you're in the Toronto area. read more

This place was recommended to me by a fellow instagrammer. I haven't had wonton noodles for a very long time and being easily influenced, I decided to order delivery from Big Trio Wonton Noodle via UberEats! I was quite amazed that the broth was still piping hot when I received the delivery. The noodles had a great bouncy texture and the plump wontons were packed full of large, juicy shrimp. Highly recommend adding a dash of their insanely fragrant hot chili oil if you like your wontons with a kick! P.S. I didn't order veggies with my noodles so I just added my own baby yu choy. P.P.S. They included little containers of vinegar and their homemade chili oil with the order, which was a very nice touch! I might have to go back for a jar of that chili oil! read more
A very consistent chain! We spontaneously wanted some wonton noodles and decided to have lunch at Big trio in the Langham plaza location. The parking for this location is either on the ground level outdoor area or in the underground parking lot. It is quite convenient as there is plenty of parking in this busy plaza. Since we had a late lunch, the restaurant wasn't too full and I was pleasantly surprised with the fairly "new" interior compared to the Scarborough location. We were greeted and seated quickly by the staff. Next they checked our vaccination records and ensured that we provided contact details for tracking. Our orders were taken promptly and we were served our hot and tasty noodle soups pretty quickly. I ordered the 3 topping noodle soup with egg noodles. The three toppings included 2 of each item: Dumplings, Squidball and beef brisket (this may have been 4 pieces actually). This combination made the noodles super flavourful due to the beef brisket sauce. It was quite tasty! I enjoyed the dish as all the items were very fresh and the egg noodles had the perfect chewiness along with the bouncy squid ball and tender beef. The hubs got his usual which was the wonton and dumpling rice noodle combination. All I have to say is his bowl was completely empty at the end of the meal...I guess he enjoyed it lol! Hands down the wonton and dumplings are delicious and you can never go wrong with these items. The hubs mentioned he likes how Big trio uses thick/wider rice noodles so this is definitely a plus. Oh! The chili oil..you gotta try some of this when you're here...it elevates these noodle dishes to the next level (if you can handle the spice) Two thumbs up! And we'll definitely be back! read more
They have the best wonton! They are so huge! The soup that the wonton noodles came in was delicious and very flavorful! The place is not very big so I would recommend going there as soon as they open! They also sell their own hot sauce which is the best I've ever had! We ordered won ton soup, beef tendon which was made perfectly and very tasty! If I ever go back to Toronto, I would definitely stop here for some good old won ton soup! read more

This place is soooo worth it! I got the Three Kinds of Toppings Noodle Soup (yes that's actually what it's called on the menu) and decided to go with shrimp wontons, dumplings, and beef as my toppings. I also went with egg noodles but you have the option of choosing rice noodle or vermicelli as well. The food here comes out super fast. After ordering, my soup came out like 5 minutes later. I was really surprised by the portion sizes. The shrimp wontons and dumplings were huge and there was a lot of noodles. The shrimp wontons were so delicious and was actually full of whole pieces of shrimp. I was expecting it to be minced and mixed with more pork than anything but that was not the case. I was honestly not expecting it to taste that great as most restaurants use lower quality shrimp compared to what I'm accustomed to eating but it definitely surpassed my expectations.. by a lot. The noodle soup only cost me $9, which is a complete steal! My stomach was satisfied and my wallet didn't cry. Definitely coming back here again when I'm feeling some Wonton noodle soup! read more

Usually we don't go for afternoon tea. But my MIL wanted wonton noodles, so here we are. :) Small joint, nice and clean, staff were quick and friendly. And yum they got fried fish skin!!! We ordered that ofcourse and part of the proceeds go to Sick Kids Hopsital. They were really large pieces, lightly seasoned and super crispy. Came with a bowl of soup for dipping, buf I like it as is. Had their 3 item soup noodles which consist of 2 big shrimp wontons, 2 fish paste dumplings, and a bunch of beef slices. The noodles were super al dente, nice snap to them! Soup base was nice and clean. Tea is also served to you at your table. And you also pay from your table as well. read more
