Giving a high rating because the food was really good. Broth was excellent and a generous amount of fish as well! Definitely recommend for a nice bowl of fish broth noodle soup. Would be perfect if they offer other types of noodle selection as I'm not a big fan of the grain noodles. But that's just personal preference. Service was alright, the lady wasn't too helpful when I asked to purchase some extra broth for my left over noodles to take home.

Come early in the weekend. Table filled fast. First time I am in . The noodle has multiple type. I like original noodle but my family like tomato soup noodle. The snack aka French toad is Nicely made and with equally spread condensed milk. Deep fried drumstick is everyone favourite as it fried crispy outside and inside still juice. Interesting enough this place looks like a residential house and there is extra seating area in the second floor. Limited parking and washroom has to walk downstairs. The accessible washroom is on the same floor and no need to walk stairs.

It has been a while since I last visited this place. This time we had the tomato fish soup noodles and fried chicken steak with rice in gravy sauce. The noodles were good with generous portions of fresh fish chunks, the tomato soup base was delicious and not salty, it's a heart-warming bowl of noodles, however the chicken steak rice tasted just average. Servers were polite and enthusiastic to serve their customers, but as we seated inside one of the dining rooms, we're not able to get their attention, this could be done better to improve customer service. Again 5% off if pay by cash.

Original Fish Noodle Soup

Aptly named, this restaurant specializes in grain noodles & fish soup. The menu is small and almost everyone comes for the fish noodle soup - so comforting and perfect on a cold winter day. This restaurant is a converted house, so the interior is quite unique (like stepping into someone's living room). The inside is always packed and crowded, and the distances between tables are quite small - so it can feel cramped and loud. We tried the Original Fish Soup (their most popular and signature item), Tomato Fish Soup, and the boiled vegetables (yu choy sum). Every bowl of noodle soup came in a very LARGE bowl (big portion size!), enough to feed 2 people... with plenty of grouper fish fillet, tofu, noodles, and a little bit of vegetables (Napa cabbage). The Original Fish Soup was very flavourful, comforting, and they were generous with the amount of fish in the bowl. I loved that they mixed 3 different types of grain noodles - my favourite was the dark grey one (buckwheat, I think?). The Tomato Fish Soup had the exact same ingredients as the Original Fish Soup, except the broth was a tomato soup broth. It tasted just like a typical tomato soup. Between the two, I preferred the original. Boiled vegetables consisted of yu choy sum - a bit too soft to my liking, wish they were more firm and crispier. They were able to put the oyster sauce on the side / have them without the sauce, which was great. Service was speedy. They have a private parking lot with more parking spots at the back of the house. Turnover of the tables is very fast. If the restaurant is fully packed, usually you don't have to wait long until a table becomes available (fast service, food comes out fast, and the guests all seem to eat fast too).

This restaurant is tucked in the back lot, so if you don't know about it, you wouldn't stop by. However, it is very popular, so be prepared to wait at peak hours. We came about one hour before closing, and was lucky enough to grab a table for a late dinner. We ordered the original fish noodle soup, the tomato fish noodle soup, and some fried pork knuckles. Notably, there are non-noodle options like rice with various protein options. We got the chicken steak with rice. I really liked that the dishes came out piping hot, as the broth was extra delicious this way. The fish soup is amazing with large chunks of tender fish. Great noodles, which are made with five grains which the store is known for. Pro tip: ask for an additional order of just noodles for no charge. This is fast becoming a family favorite.

One of the best fish broth noodles I have had! They use grouper instead of the usual cheaper fish like tilapia, which makes a big difference. Prices are reasonable considering they use more expensive fish and offer a free noodle refill. They have a number of different broths like spicy/non-spicy, tomato, and sweet and sour. I have tried a few and they are all pretty good, although I do feel very thirsty after which suggests MSG. The service is good but it's also a very casual setting inside a renovated heritage house.

Good comfort food. Lots of fish in the soup and I also like getting their crispy fish skin. Their fried chicken that comes with the potato salad is hugeee. It's really tender. The restaurant is usually pretty packed and it's a smaller space so it's hard to accommodate a huge group of people.

Recommended to try this restaurant as they advertised using ling cod as their sliced fish on their menu. The layout of the restaurant feels like it's in a house, with an upstairs and downstairs. Previously, this location was a HK cafe and they kept the interior the same. I ordered the N9 Sichuan spicy beef while my partner ordered the N3 Spicy pumpkin. My initial thoughts was that the soup was very fragrant, as the sichuan flavours were spicy, tolerable and complimented the fish soup well. The beef chunks were a tad too chewy however flavoured well. The noodles were very unique, as the Chinese name implies, there were 5 types of grains used for the noodles and they looked visibly different. I did however think the noodles were too soft, softer than most rice noodles, which wasn't ideal for me. The spicy pumpkin soup was tasty, less spicy compared to my spicy beef, however more flavourful. The ling cod fish slices were fresh, and complimented the soup well. The restaurant also allows you one free noodle refill if you're feeling extra hungry! Overall I would come back if I'm in the area and craving fish noodle soup.

Very nice and attentive service! The restaurant is an old house that's been converted. The fish soup is tasty, almost creamy too. It comes very hot and you get a free noodle refill which is enough to take home to enjoy!

Was shortly cafe Tea Era, it closed quickly and became grains. Some of their menu still has the Tea Era items suggesting that it is from the same management. They also added a huge selection of soup with rice noodles. Fried chicken thighs with potato salad - This was on their old menu and never had a chance to try. Super glad that they kept it on the menu so I can have a try. The chicken thigh is massive! It was a bit under-seasoned, acceptable for the older crowd, but nothing a little salt could not fix. Potato salad was pretty simple, felt like a Costco or wholesale club salad. Fried fish skin - super crispy fish skin, pretty neutral in flavour. The batter And fish is perfect for soaking up flavour from the soup! Recommend to dip in the soup just before eating so the fish skin stays crispy. Original fish soup - Great value for the meal. It's big enough to share, especially with free rice noodle refills. The soup is super flavourful with loads of fish and other ingredients would come back for the soup!

In the neighborhood, decided to give this place a try. Interesting, stand alone restaurant in a renovated house Ordered their fish noodle soup, went with regular instead of spicy. Plenty of fish and 3 color noodles in a rich fish broth. Cantonese style fish soup instead of the numerous China/Beijing style fish noodle soups that seems to be infiltrating every square inch of Markham. If you're really hungry you can ask for an extra bowl of noodles free of charge. Made the mistake of ordering their fried Garoupa with potato salad. The fish was not garoupa, i think it was cheap basa, and their potato salad tasted exactly like the Costco potato salad I bought last week. The choy sum was way overcooked to the point of green mush. Their saving grace was the fish noodle soup, plenty of fish, extra noodles if needed and the fish broth was on point. I would come back just for this specific dish and maybe try one of their rice dishes. As Meatloaf would sing "one out of three ain't bad"

I wrote notes on my images, so check them out. This noodle soup has two checkmarks of differentiation in the gta's competitive soup noodle market, for this reason they get a 5 star. First is the grouper fish filets in our Original and Signature bowls. They're really nice and perfectly salted. A step above the fish filets in Deer Gardens's noodle soups (which are also good) Second is the different types of noodles in every bite. The combined resulting texture gives an interesting mouth feel. You also get a stamp card with a point earned on every $10 spent. 10 stamps = a free snack. Snacks on the menu look pretty good to try. The service was quite polite and friendly too. Also, The restaurant is in a previous residential house, so it feels like you're eating in one of those restaurants in the boonies. Really great overall. Definitely try it.

This is their first location outside Vancouver, the restaurant itself is quite hidden. You have to walk past the Dairy Queen located on kennedy x 14th Ave. They are famous for the fish soup 5 grains noodles with a kick of spice. It's different from the suancai fish style. It tastes good and portion is big with 1 free refill in store, but I can't eat that everyday (maybe too healthy). I think they need to have more promotions to attract customers because of its hidden location.

That's so nice. That also caused the crackers at the bottom. That's really amazing. We also got a little bowl of the seaweed soup for the clay pot. So nice. The meat to rice ratio was like 1 to 10 There wasn't even any crispy rice at the bottom. and the meat itself was not tender. It was dry and rough. No wonder why I can't find any reviews of their clay pot rice online. Probably because nobody orders it. Other than the Clay Pot rice and shrimp rice roll everything else was really good so I definitely would come back again.
