Everything good to say about Good Catch Cafe: - Great service. The server was attentive to details and making sure we got the right food. - The menu choices were extensive! So much good dishes to choose from. - I went with Singapore kway teow. We had a choice of spice level, so I stayed with regular. When the dishes came out, we were pleasantly surprised by the large quantity. Loved it!!! - The environment was great with lots of tvs. Great place to chill and watch sports. A recommend.

October 22, 2025 - I got C13 - Pork chop with onion sauce on rice. My girlfriend got the baked double cheese on spaghetti (I forget which one exactly). Both meals also came with a complimentary tea, which I did not get a picture of. Anyways, I really enjoyed the pork chop. The portion was a huge. The sauce and pork chop went really well with the rice and made sure each bite had flavour. The pork chop had a bit of fat on it, but that brought out the flavour and made it juicy. There were so many items on the menu and I wouldn't mind coming back again to try other items.

Quite disappointed with the service tonight dining on the right side where they serve HK café food The vibe was great at the bar side with all the TVs and the Jays game playing I understand the Jays were playing today but how are the servers so unattentive. Upon entering on a Sunday night, the hostess stand and wait area was crowded with lost patrons and one hostess running around The hostess finally acknowledged our need for a table for the cafe side but then forgot about us so we waited a while because she was just seating the left bar side of the restaurant. We even asked if we should get a wait number but she said no .. then forgot about us. When we got to our still dirty table with a preset (left over) plate with 3 spoons, we were not offered any waters. We had to flag for service and ask for it. We ordered (1) an assorted steak rice and egg, (2) a Bolognese meat sauce spaghetti/ tomato sauce chicken rice, (3) wings with fries and (4) shrimp toast with fries. The food came really quick however, our first dish (the assorted steak) was fully missing the fried egg. We had to tell the server but instead of just apologizing and bringing and egg, I'm not sure why the whole plate had to be taken away. We were also not given any utensils upon having our dishes delivered. So when 3 other dishes were delivered by the same two servers, no one offered us utensils while I just sat looking at my dish. Am I expected to use my hands or that left over spoon? We worked with what was already on the table ... Which were 3 spoons and one plate for a bit but seriously .. we got steak. I'd expect any attentive server to realize that when you dropped off any of those dishes that we can't just eat with one spoon. We had to flag down the server a couple of times to get one fork, one more fork, one knife and 2 more plates .... And we had to tell the server were missing a whole fried egg as our first dish. The milk tea was also bland and watered down. Overall the food was ok but the service was definitely lacking tonight. Hopefully it was just a one off night for them because of the game.

Good Catch Café remains my favorite HK style café, despite so many other restaurants opening up around Toronto and the GTA. The service is efficient, although the portions have shrunk dramatically, which seems to be the norm. It would be great if they offered non-caffeinated drinks to their included meals. While I absolutely love HK milk tea or iced tea, it keeps me up all night long. Another favorite restaurant of ours offers hot or cold almond milk for no additional fee. Plenty of parking and seating, and we have to try the newer location at Fairview Mall.

This is different then most restaurants I've been to and I think I like it. You order online and then you choose a drink from a pre set selection and customize your order. It all came relatively fast and if you are allergic to anything you ca tell them and they can take it out. Even though we ordered through our phones we did talk to our waitress a little bit and she was very accommodating. I will say the idea of everything being on their phones is a little sad but you know that is life now. The overall vibe was American sports bar with Chinese elements. I personally didn't not come for that but it did have a definite Hong Kong cafe aura. So I guess that what they were going for.

This place offers comforting Hong Kong style meals, and most of their options includes a drink for a very reasonable price! The decor is on the dark side, so keep that in mind if you're coming with young children. However, it's completely safe and comfortable. The servers are friendly and the dining area is spacious. You can order at the table via QR code for convenience. Pricing is super reasonable, plenty of parking outside. The food quality is good and super generous in portion size. We left soooo stuffed! The free included drinks were solid as well, with a good variety of options like cold or hot milk tea, and juice/water options. The menu is expansive, so there is sure to be something for everyone. The place is clean as well.

The flavor is always consistent, but their sizzling plate fell short on our most recent visit (a few months back). I was so excited about this nostalgic dish when I saw it on the menu, however the plate was not hot enough. There was hardly any sizzle and the onions and broccoli remained raw. The meal was lukewarm.... sauce and the remaining food was pretty good however.

We ordered the baked pork chop on rice with gravy as well as the fish tacos. The pork chop was delicious and the cheese and gravy complimented the rice so well. The fish tacos were tasty and had big portions. The service was great and the food was served in a timely manner. The ambience was nice with lots of televisions to keep people entertained.

I have been recommended this place for awhile but never had a chance to try it until now. This is at downtown Markham. Ambiance - 4/5: sports bar so it's on the darker side. There are overhead lights. It is a little brighter near the windows during the day. Service - 3.75/5: you are given a physical menu but there is a QR code on a printed piece of paper to access and order food from the online menu. There are quite a lot of choices. They are quick to seat you, bring you the menu and bring out the food. However, when you need service intermittently or when you are trying to get the bill, it takes awhile to catch their attention. There is a little bit of tunnel vision. They focus on going from point A to point B and don't really look up. Food - 4/5: it's good - elevated Hong Kong cafe style food flavours. I got the Prawn and Beef Egg on Rice. The egg was moist and fluffy. Prawns were large and had good texture. There was also a lot of rice so this is quite filling. I also ordered an iced milk tea. It's a standard milk tea. Overall: 4/5 - I don't mind coming here for a meal, especially if I am watching a movie at the Cineplex, before or after.

I've been here many times and the Hong Kong cafe food here always hits the spot. I really like the curry fish balls. You order food through the app and the food comes out fast. Servers are always nice. I do find that you have to request for tea/water at this cafe, instead of them automatically bringing it to your table when you're seated. Cold and hot drinks are the same prices. Love how spacious it is in this cafe. Prices are decent. Lots of free parking near the cafe.

I love a good seafood boil, and came in with high expectations. Sure the food was okay overall, but would I be tempted to go back again maybe not. The flavours were okay, and I just didn't find anything that caught my attention. Prices were quite steep, and just was not my cup of tea. 5/10 recommend!

But despite of all those disadvantages, I still give it 5 stars because it has the PERFECT food! Spicy pork soup vermicelli combo comes with eggs and toast. Soup vermicelli was good and flavorful. I opted for scrambled eggs and it was perfectly smooth and creamy. Toasts were a bit on a bland side. Curry fish ball, turnip and pig skin was decent. Slightly oily and also a bit on a sweeter note. Curry beef brisket has a hint of spicyness and has coconut milk. Nice curry taste but also a bit too sweet imo. Brisket was tender overall. Tomato sauce pork cutlet with rice was good flavour. Pork cutlet was crispy and juicy but tomato sauce was a little sweeter than usual. Coconut red bean drink was decent but the red beans were too hard and lacks the sandyness (softer texture).
