Lots of tables enjoyed their ox tongue dish I like how the rice had fried option Would go back to try other things

Shrimp with spaghetti and cream sauce
Sarah P.

The shrimp with spaghetti and cream sauce at LC Cafe was tasty. There was a decent portion of shrimp and sauce. However, the service was subpar, especially because the servers did not remember which orders were for our table, which caused some confusion. We had to point out our orders on the menu again to let the waitresses know. The ambiance was casual and great for a hangout with friends. Overall, the food I ordered was decently good, but the service could have been improved.

My family and I were craving afternoon tea at a HK cafe and we noticed this place was relatively new in the Scarborough area so we wanted to try it. We arrived ~15 minutes after afternoon tea started and the restaurant was full, we had to wait ~20 minutes for a seat. After scanning their menu, the prices are generally more expensive than surrounding HK cafes however their afternoon tea menu was only $10 with a hot drink. They had a wide variety of items you would see at most Hong Kong cafes; I ended up ordering the fried chicken wings with fries, as I had inspiration from a customer sitting beside me enjoying their fried chicken leg, paired with a hot milk tea. Overall the chicken was crispy, although a tad overcooked and dry. The fries were crunchy, reminiscent of Costco fries, which I personally find tasty. The hot milk tea was aromatic and creamy, and hit the spot on the cold Saturday afternoon. I would definitely return to try other dishes on the menu and for afternoon tea!

Swiss soy sauce noodles

Highly recommended by my friend on their afternoon tea specials (only between 3-5pm), most dishes under $10. Got there by 4:30pm, drove faster than normal, green lights were my friend, place was packed but got a table with no waiting. Ordered 2 dishes recommended by my friend, the Club sandwich & the Swiss soy sauce fried flat noodles with Angus beef. Yeah, that's right, a club sandwich, and you know what, it was damn good, no dried out white chicken breast meat was used but instead moist dark chicken thigh meat (it's an asian thing) in addition to the other ingredients normally found in a club sandwich. 4 nice size club sandwich triangles, oh my The other dish was on point, not sure what Swiss soy sauce is, but it was damn flavorful, the noodles were firm and chewy and the Angus beef slices were charred, grainy and not overly tenderizer, kudos to the chef. Because it is an afternoon tea special, the portions are slightly smaller but still large enough to satisfy your appetite, well worth the price. You also get the normal free drink, upgrade to a lemon ice tea for $1.50. Funny thing, mostly everyone left by 5:10pm which indicates how popular the afternoon tea specials are as their normal prices are almost 50% more expensive! I'll plan on spending my afternoons now stuffing my face with club sandwiches and swiss soy sauce noodles, never pass up a good bargain, let's do this. Btw, what's up with this Labubu craze, just sayin

. we were quickly seated . all seats were full on a midday friday? . meals come with a free drink (my friend informs me very typical/ normal for hongkong resturants) . food portions were huge . great pricing for the amount of things- left super full . dessert was interesting! the foam on top is definitely a different texture than normal? not marshmallow more like fluffy and gooey . overall good service great food, will be back to try more of the menu!

This restaurant located in an old mall where lots of restaurants located. It is Hong Kong style with western food . Why Hong Kong style? Most of the main comes with Hong Kong milk tea or coffee. The milk tea is excellent. The food is a bit more expensive in the area but has good quality. I ordered chicken with black pepper sauce. There is good quality in the food as I can taste the chicken cooked with butter and there is a pinch of microgreen on top. I only found micro green in some western restaurants with focus on fresh and healthy. The waitresses are very polite and efficient. It decorated a bit luxury. It tried to but not enough . It has parking and washroom is handicap accessible

I ordered Lobster spaghetti with Rose sauce. I love the rose sauce, it goes well with the lobster. You can tell it was freshly made. Hot, aromatic and nice flavor. The waitress are so attentive and it was not noisy.

Location/Service This place is in the Midland/Finch plaza where Marathon Tea and Twilight Board Cafe Game is. It's a very busy plaza with limited parking, so you might need to browse around and behind the back as well. Inside is pretty spacious for a cafe - very modern interior and high quality utensils like le creuset cups and such. Staff were very nice and friendly - orders came in a pretty fast pace as well. Food This is a more modern HK style cafe with a few fusion styles mixed into it. So things are a bit on the pricy end -- with dishes at around $20 or more. Quality and quantity wise is comparable - I was pretty stuff from the items and I can tell the kitchen did put good effort into designing the dishes and the ingredients they chose. I tried their mushroom pasta (The LC Signature Set) and the classic HK style french toast. The pasta was well done, love how Mixed Wild Mushroom and Black Truffle Sauce compliment well together. There were a lot of mushroom as well. This came with a drink of choice - so I opted for their milk tea, which is consistent to their Noodle Bar. As for the French Toast, done to perfection - not fried too oily, but also crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The butter also just adds an extra punch! I do like this cafe a lot - it's not something I would come regularly for a quick meal, but once in a while splurge for a HK Cafe is great.

Shrimp toast

A good high end HK cafe, with the usual suspects but often elevated with execution or ingredients. The ambiance is new and modern, with plenty of dark leather and metal accents. It is quite popular, so expect to wait during peak hours. We had the beef tongue rice, shrimp toast and the beef fried noodles. The beef tongue rice came with three thickly sliced pieces of meat doused in a dark gravy. The meat was super tender and delicious. Great pairing with the rice! The shrimp toast was also a hit at the table, with one large shrimp and plenty more shrimp paste embedded in the super crispy fried toast. Very nice with the cream sauce. Good beef fried rice that doesn't skimp on the beef or the veggies. The food prices is higher than a regular HK cafe, but it is worth it for the quality of food!

Hk style toast with whipped butter

Came for afternoon tea (3-5pm). Got my usual hk style toast and lai cha. The hk style toast doesn't come with peanut butter and can't be added either. I always get it with pb, but still had to try it. It was soo tasty! I didn't even miss the pb! It came with lots of whipped butter and predrizzled with syrup. The hk style tea is pretty good. Not oversteeped, creamy. Also got a yin yang, and it was to my liking. I could actually taste the tea flavour, but my partner did mention it had a bit of a sour coffee taste. Also got their mini beef rice noodle ("mini fried Angus beef ho fan with swiss sauce"). It was standard fare (meets my expectations). Not too many bean sprouts (my preference). The venue is very nice. Black with gold accents, some wood features, and cement floors. Matches a more western feel. Service is okay. Pretty fast, but they got the wrong order and one of the staff members is a bit clumsy lol (lots of clanging and falling cutlery). Food is well worth it though. They also have a deal where everything (on the afternoon tea menu) is $10 each if paid in cash. Better than the 10% off elsewhere. Just a disclaimer though, the hk style toast increases by a $1 in this case. Will come back to try the deep fried hk style shrimp toast!

November 9, 2024 - Tiger shrimps Pad Thai
Ann B.

November 9th, 2024 - been here a few times with my friends. I decided to treat my family. This a a nice restaurant in a popular area. We ordered: The Tiger shrimps Pad Thai, we did not enjoy this dish (it was the least favourite). The Indonesian grilled chicken steak (fried rice) was okay, meat was a bit tough. The star of the show was Fried Angus beef Ho Fan with Swiss sauce! 10/10 Also the Thick French Toast with LC butter cream is a very nice dessert. Service here is fast, atmosphere is good. The seat has lots of seats and can get busy. Definitely try the Angus Beef Noodles!!

Baked Rice | Chicken Steak | LC curry sauce

We visited LC Cafe to celebrate a birthday lunch. I hadn't heard of this place before, but when we arrived, it was packed! Since the restaurant doesn't take reservations, be prepared for a wait or try to time your visit strategically, especially if you're with a larger group. The restaurant remained busy during our meal. The wait staff was moving from table to table. You might get the feeling of being rushed, especially since the food comes out so quick, but while we were eating it felt like you could take your time to eat your meal. The restaurant itself was loud enough with voices talking from different tables, but not too loud that you'd need to yell across the table to speak with your own group. We were a group of six, so we ordered a variety of dishes, including shrimp toast and Portuguese-style clams to share. The LC Iron dishes come with a very generous portion of protein--pork, chicken, ox tongue, or AAA strip-loin steak. You can add a lobster tail or tiger shrimp to your dish. Each dish is served with salad, soup, grilled veggies, fries, and your choice of sauce (curry, tomato, espagnole, mushroom, or black pepper). You can request the sauce on the side, as it's typically poured over the meat and fries tableside. The Baked Rice dishes are served in Staub ceramic bakeware, with a layer of rice on the bottom and your choice of protein on top-- ox tongue, grilled pork chop, chicken steak) They also offer HK-style dishes, and we ordered the Fried Angus Beef Ho Fun with Swiss Sauce. The portion was large enough to have leftovers for lunch the next day! To go with our meals, we enjoyed a variety of beverages, with the Iced Lemon Tea and hot HK-style milk tea (served in a Le Creuset mug) being the standouts. Overall, the food was delicious, and the portion sizes were generous. We will return again and try other items

LC cafe is a Hong Kong style fusion restaurant. Their Ox tongue is one of the best I have ever had. Very crispy on the outside and the inside is tender and juicy. The ox tongue rice comes with 3 thickly sliced pieces. The German salty pork knuckle is another signature item. It's is $36 but it's well worth it. First the pork knuckle is huge with a lotsa meat. The skin is very crispy and the meat is not dry. The only negative was one of the waitress didn't really know what is included in their dishes. I was going to order the ox tongue on sizzling plate at first and when I asked if it comes with rice or spaghetti, the waitress says it doesn't and it doesn't come with fries as well but the menu clearly says it comes with fries. I asked about 5 times explaining that the menu says it comes with fries and she insisted that it doesn't come with fries. At the end, I ordered the regular ox tongue with rice. Then 5 minutes later, I asked another waitress and she told me it does come with fries and veggies. That's pretty messed up. I don't think the first waitress wants to work there. If you are not sure, you should at least ask someone else and not provide the wrong info to the customer again again and again. Would have given a 4 star if it wasn't for the bad service experience.

Another element of our food court lunch was this Lamb brisket gui-lin noodle soup!…read more I love noodle soups. It would definitely be my last meal on earth for sure...but it would be impossible to pick which one. ;D This noodle soup came topped with loads of zha cai (chinese pickled veg), cilantro, green onions, stir-fried ground meat and freshly chopped tomatoes. The balance of flavour in these soups are hard to beat as you get all the flavours in one satisfying bite/slurp. The lamb bits in the soup were not fall off the bone tender but who cares! With the rest of the soup being so good, I didn't mind gnawing on the bone a little while longer to savour this noodle soup. I will try one of their other noodle soups next time we dine in!

I'm surprised their baked rice is only $8.99 and it's fried rice too whereas other places charge at least $11 and up. They don't even charge you for cold drinks. It's definitely a steal! No where else beats the prices here. There are a great variety of dishes to choose from. They also offer party trays starting from $35 - $70 depending on size. I ordered a baked tomato sauce w/ chicken steak on fried rice. Portion is decent. It tasted like what you would be getting from a full service restaurant. The service was great. This is usually one of the places we like to get food from when we're in the area. Very affordable.

The restaurant is bright and spacious with lots of seatings. Bonus, they even have a few individual seating area. Service was polite and friendly. Ordered a few items to try. Beef fried rice noodles (hor fun), tons of sesame seeds and bean sprouts. Beef was tender and can taste the wok hey. However, the soy sauce is a bit on the sweeter side. Spicy pork soup vermicelli combo comes with eggs and toast. Soup vermicelli was good and flavorful. I opted for scrambled eggs and it was perfectly smooth and creamy. Toasts were a bit on a bland side. Curry fish ball, turnip and pig skin was decent. Slightly oily and also a bit on a sweeter note. Curry beef brisket has a hint of spicyness and has coconut milk. Nice curry taste but also a bit too sweet imo. Brisket was tender overall. Tomato sauce pork cutlet with rice was good flavour. Pork cutlet was crispy and juicy but tomato sauce was a little sweeter than usual. Coconut red bean drink was decent but the red beans were too hard and lacks the sandyness (softer texture). If you've had red bean dessert soup then you would know what i mean. Would of been better if the red bean quality was better. 4 stars overall.
