Food 5/5 Service 4/5 Vibe 4/5 Parking to reso is a challenge, but for Hong Kong Style restaurant , its worth it! Food was great, there isnt as many options as other cha chang tang, but still a good section. I personally love their Hong Kong Iced MilkTea. One of the best ones i had in toronto, ngl! ALSO! FRIED CHICKEN WINGS IS TO DIE FOR! Sooooo juicy so delicious! Overall worth the drive and parking pain! Haha

Ordered the hainanese chicken rice for takeout. The chicken was decent but unfortunately the broth did not have much flavour. It came with two ginger oil sauces. Wish there was a bit more variety of sauces. The rice was unfortunately mushy.. perhaps the other dishes are better but not convinced I would go out of my way to try in the restaurant yet.

2.5 stars This is pretty small cafe and has around twenty seats that are fairly close together. There isn't dedicated parking, but there is street parking across the street. Make sure you park where it's permitted. We ordered I. instant noodles with satay beef and egg in soup and H. spicy pork chop with Maggi sauce on rice. The food didn't take long to arrive at the table and you're given eating utensils when your dishes come out. The satay beef did not actually have instant noodles. They were regular noodles, and this was quite a letdown since we were expecting instant noodles. The pork chop was a decent portion and tasty.

I was 100% really surprised to find this NEW Phoenix Cafe in North York, near Fairview Mall. There were no posts on their Instagram or advertisement anywhere! It is definitely a hidden gem for the neighbourhood, and probably the smallest Phoenix Cafe yet, with maybe max 20 seats. I love the comfort food here. The food is delicious, and the service is quick. I love my Spam & Egg instant noodles, the Basa Fish Fillet Bun, and the Napoleon Styled with Black Sesame Ice cream! Underground parking is right at the same complex parking garage entrance as Fresh Co. Park and exit from Fresh Co. and walk towards the restaurant on Forest Manor Road. There are also limited street parking spots across from the restaurant, but watch out for the 2 fire hydrants. FYI, there is ZERO cell phone signal when you're underground!

I'm not a bad carb person so I can barely make a dent in their rice/noodle dishes for lunch. So I was happy to see non-rice/noodles based dishes that is served all day and not just tea time. I ordered the yuzu chicken steak with potato salad. It comes with a drink and soup. The chicken steak was deep fried, with liminal batter and the met remains juicy. The yuzu sauce was spread on top. First time seeing chicken + yuzu at a cha cheng teng. What took me by surprised was the potato salad. It was definitely made in house, with chunks of apples, carrots, red onion, ham and eggs. Love how it was also not dose in miracle whip. I chose the Chinese soup (instead of western style) and it was flavorful. I would said better than most Chinese restaurants who gives for complimentary soup for dinner. There was minimal MSG, as I didn't feel thirsty afterwards. The HK milk tea was the weaker component of this set, the tea base was lacking in flavour and didnt have the "thick" texture to it.

The taste of the food is pretty much spot on to the other locations, and very classic cha chaan teng foods. Service here is really good actually! They are super attentive and are sure to repeat your order so they have it right. They come to refill your water quickly and often as well. The place isn't very busy most of the time, so it's usually pretty easy to get a seat.

Chicken steak on rice and spaghetti - I really like the cook on this chicken, it stays moist and flavorful. The half rice and half spaghetti is always great to have two different starches. Tomato sauce is good too. 5/5. Bitter melon with chicken. Lots of rice , the bitter melon is good but felt like it was too little. 4/5. Price: Linch specials are a lot of food for a good price.

It was a bit pricier, but that was part of the identity LC Cafe had built in my mind. I especially liked some of their previous items, like their original baked rice dishes, pasta and soups. For more traditional Hong Kong café or cha chan teng style food, I'd probably choose other spots instead. Overall, it's still decent, but after the recent menu overhaul, it's no longer my first choice.

She loves the pork floss. My husband god the Curry Cheese Beef baked Rice. The curry tastes so strong that it was a bit spicy to me. I like that at least each dish has a piece of veggie. Each dish we also got the drink, so we like the Horlicks. It did come with strong Horlicks taste, which I like it too. Since so much things I like so far, I will definitely come back again.

I am never the hop-on-the-bandwagon trendsetter. Good Catch Cafe and Bar has been in downtown Markham for a few years. I decided to come here for an early dinner after work on Wednesday for the first time. This eatery is a part of The Origin, the mall that includes a Cineplex, Goodlife Fitness, Chatime, and more. This eatery has its entrance facing Enterprise Boulevard. When you're parked at the parking lot across from it, it gives you the impression that the entrance is by the patio. Maybe you can enter and exit this side door when it's summertime. I see a lot of references in a number of Yelp reviews here to this eatery being Good Catch Boil. I remember when it was more of a seafood place when it first opened for business. It then meandered into a Hong Kong-style eatery, which is the case today. I'm guessing that the boil trend wasn't as popular over time. I walked in. I looked at a screen to check in. It was probably 4 pm and it wasn't terribly busy. I passed. A female server came over and asked if I was dining as a party of one. I nodded. She pointed me to a booth. I was pleased and sat myself down. It was comfy. It's kind of like a sports bar, but it's casual. I caught up with the Blue Jays loss against the Yankees the night before. By the end of my dining experience, this restaurant had good music playing that made dining here more upbeat. She came over with a bunch of menus. She also had a printed QR code. I could either order online or wave at any staff member to place my order. Nice! There are daily specials. You get a free drink with your order if you drop by between certain afternoon hours. I decided to order through the online menu and got these items: - Iced lemon Ribena - Curry fish balls (15) - Wonton noodle soup Service was wonderful. The female server got me water and my iced lemon Ribena. I love the latter drink so much. It was excellent. It had the perfect amount of lemon with Ribena, all iced. The water was also great. It was cold despite not having any ice cubes in it. My curry fish balls came out first. The curry smelled so good. I loved each curry ball that I stabbed with a skewer and dunked into the curry sauce. Each fish ball was bouncy and yummy. The sauce had a slight spicy kick that I thoroughly enjoyed. I'd get them again. A male server came over with my bowl of wonton noodle soup. I had maybe ten different noodle options to choose from, from ramen, to udon. I choose thin noodles. If you want a noodle pull, you'll easily get it here. The noodles were delicious, long, and so good. They weren't clumpy. Perfect! I was surprised that I got broccoli. I ended up submerging the florets in the broth. They started off on the crunchier side. They softened up nicely and I enjoyed how healthy eating each floret made me feel. I am used to getting bok choy or no veggies with wonton noodle soup. It was nice that I got something different. The wontons were excellent. They had shrimp in them, which I am thinking that the seafood part of this business is still there. I loved the green onions in this bowl of deliciousness. The broth was perfect. It wasn't overly salty. I could taste sesame oil that was aded to it. I paid at the table. The female server asked if I was paying by cash or card. I rarely have the former on me, so it was my credit card. I tipped and tapped, and thanked her for everything. Staff are so nice here. I'd come back just for the service alone. The food and drink were amazing, so I'm definitely a fan who wants to return for more good eats and drinks. I used the washroom before leaving this eatery. When you walk into this restaurant, the washrooms are straight ahead, followed by a right turn. It was cool seeing bowls of noodles being made by kitchen staffers as I passed by to get to the washroom. The women's washroom was spacious and clean. No complaints. I'm so glad that I finally dropped by this eatery. At least three restaurants have closed recently at The Origin. I'm glad that this one is still thriving. I'd love to grab a bite to eat after a movie or simply come here to enjoy good Hong Kong-style dishes. (214)
