My Experience at KFC - Don Mills & Finch (July 24, 2026)
Today I visited the KFC at Don Mills & Finch and ordered a 3-piece combo with coleslaw. While waiting for my order, I witnessed something that I found completely unacceptable.
The employee preparing my order accidentally dropped my coleslaw onto the floor. I then saw him pick it up and place it into my bag. I immediately spoke up in front of other customers because I could not believe what I had just witnessed.
I brought the incident to the manager's attention. The manager told me the employee had only received two days of training and said he had been instructed that if anything falls on the floor, it should be thrown in the garbage.
Whether this was a training issue or a failure to follow instructions, it raises serious concerns. Two days of training should never result in food that has touched the floor ending up in a customer's order.
Food safety is not optional. Every customer deserves confidence that the food they receive is handled properly and that employees are adequately trained before serving the public.
I hope KFC reviews this incident, reinforces its food safety procedures, and ensures all staff receive proper training. Customers place their trust in restaurants every day, and that trust should never be taken lightly.
