Small restaurant but fast service. Our party of 5 came for a late dinner on Thanksgiving Monday evening. The space is bright but tight. We crammed into our 4-seat table, and they added a chair at the end to fit our 5th person. No worries because the food is WORTH it. Small Korean restaurant beside Baton Rouge. This sis my second time here. On entry, if there is a line, you enter your information and they will text you when a table is ready. Today we had the Pork Bulgogi Jungsik. The beef broth was a little bland. The pork was tender but a bit fatty. The seasoning and flavour were good. There was a lot of onions which I guess is used to increase the serving. Bulgogi and Kalgusu combo. The beef was chewy for the most part. This however still had a nice flavour. Solid soup noodles - I was very impressed with the flavor of the beef soup. The combos offer good variety and are excellent value for the price. Service was efficient and the food came out quickly. Honestly, I've seen the glowing reviews and upon visiting, the place was full and packed with customers But I wasn't blown away I mean the food was ok, a little bit above average. I ordered the Bulgogi & Kalguksu Combo and the Gyoza (King-Size Dumpling). The food itself was actually pretty good and the service was fast and efficient. The food was fresh and flavourful. The service was friendly. But I have to give it 3 stars or even 3.5 stars. I won't round up though. It is worth a return visit but not in my regular weekly rotation. Price wise it is well worth the cost compared to the quality. Our meal came to $40 before tip and we left more than satisfied and full from the meal. It just wasn't a "Wow" factor for me. I would recommend everybody for a visit and to try yourself. Maybe this is your cup of tea, just wasn't mine this time around. read more

It's Korean home cooking in a fastfood design restaurant. Looks clean and nice decor. I ordered the beef combo with noodle soup. It comes with a variety of side dishes which is average except for the kimchi which was served in a separate bowl. Well made very fresh only thing is should had left to ferment for a couple more days to bring it's savoriness. I greatly recommend the kimchi If looks could be deceiving then I have been a victim over and over again. I thought the noodles in the soup would just be a regular soggy soft noodles but instead it was firm and al dente and the soup itself if between light and savory and it's good. The steamed gyozas are huge and every bite juices comes dripping out if you are not too careful you might find juices all over your clothes. I took some leftover gyozas home. And I question the way they handled their food because the next day I have experience some stomach issues and thought maybe the kimchi but found out my son also ate the leftover gyozas and also experience the same stomach issue I have. I saw other patrons also ordered gyozas not sure if they had any problems also. Now I'm having second thoughts going back to that place. read more

We signed up on the waitlist and got a text about 20 minutes later to let us know our table was ready. We ordered two kalguksu combos, one with spicy pork and the other with bulgogi. This was my first time trying kalguksu which was essentially a bowl of fresh noodles in a beef broth with some veggies (I think it was zucchini?). This was a really comforting dish on a cold day! It also came with a bunch of side dishes and kimchi which were the highlight in my opinion. The bulgogi also tasted yummy, however I found the spicy pork a bit too spicy for my taste buds. Came here on a Thursday night and it was quite busy. There's a tablet right when you enter to add yourself to the waitlist. They'll message you when your table is ready. The interior was normal, there was photographs of the food throughout the restaurant. We waited for approximately 20 minutes. I love that the menu had images of each item. We got the kimchi pork Mandu, bibim naengmyun (cold noodle) and the kalguksu (knife cut noodles). Kimchi was served as a side and it was pretty good! I can tell it's was home made and not store bought. The cold noodle was okay, it was served with vinegar and mustard. I wish there was a bit more sauce/soup though. Fantastic Korean restaurant in the Commerce Gate plaze. They are located right beside Baton Rouge. The interior is very modern, clean and has around 10-11 tables. If you want to dine here, best to arrive early! I ordered take out as I did not want to wait for a table and when I arrived to pick up my food the staff were super friendly. We ordered the Bulgolgi Jungsik and Bossam Junsik set meals. The price was reasonable given the quality and amount of food you get. The set meals come with the main dish, rice, soup, kimchi and 5 side dishes. Everything was so nicely packed, even the side dishes came in its own container! The bulgogi was cooked perfectly, not too salty and just the right amount of sauce. The bossam was a real winner. I loved the 3 sauces it came with along with the super fresh and crispy lettuce to wrap it in. Would definitely return to try out the rest of their menu! read more

We came here on the biggest snow day, so luckily that meant it wasn't too busy when we arrived. I hear it's usually quite crowded and they don't take reservation. We ordered a soup noodle (they're ALL good and comforting so you honestly can't go wrong), and an order of the gyoza. They were huge and so delicious. I love the thin dumpling wrapper. I went for cold noodles. Unfortunately, the usual Korean cold noodles in soup is seasonal and they didn't have it. I wish they'd put something on the menu to indicate this. Instead, I was directed to try the BiBim Kalguksu. It's also a cold noodle, but uses their regular noodles instead of the buckwheat ones. It turned out to be like a giant salad. Tons of veggies and all mixed together with the sauce, it was delicious. I don't know that it hit the spot for me really, but I would be happy to order that again if the cold noodles weren't available. If there's zero star I would give them that. I ordered a seafood pancake and there was barely seafood inside and it just turned out to be a big plate of gross and greasy burnt onion with flour. This plate of gross food cost $30. It was fullly robbery! Trying this place for the first time was quite the game-changer. My friend recommended this place to me as I'm a huge kimchi fan and it did not disappoint! I heard that this place gets very busy and they don't take resos so we rushed over to arrive before 6pm on a Friday evening. Luckily, this was just in time as when we arrived, there was barely a wait to get our table. But only 10 minutes later the crowd started to build, with people waiting outside and by the entrance. So a helpful tip is to get here before 6 to avoid a decent wait. I tried their meat KalGukSu which I really enjoyed. The soup was comforting and light... I liked that it didn't taste too heavy. The meat was also very tender and fresh tasting. The highlight of course was me was their fresh kimchi. It hits diff. They are also very generous with the portion and provide refills. The service is very to the point... they come to take your order but after that, it felt a bit like they were avoiding eye contact. Also, because they get so busy, you feel a little rushed when eating because you can tell they're waiting on you to finish so they can give your table to the next in line. But I can't fault them for being popular. Just be advised that you can't really chill or have lengthy catch up sessions here. This place feels like such a hidden gem. It's in the middle of what feels like a random plaza but the lines here get insane. They have some of the best kimchi I've ever had - only to be rivaled at one of my favorite restaurants in Seoul. Was looking for food recommendations on Yelp and came across this restaurant. Definitely a good find. It's next to Baton Rouge Ambiance - 4/5 - small place so limited seating spots. There were a lot of people and got busier as the night went by. The seats are tight and tables are small. They gave us disposable utensils. Service - 5/5 - they were quick. Food came out quickly too. They gave us a small pot of kimchi. Authentic spices - kimchi was quite spicy. Food - 4/5 - banchan were great, not a large variety though. Banchan are the korean side dishes. Got the Jaeyuk Jungsik (banchan, spicy pork on a hot plate, beef bone broth and rice) and Bossam Jungsik (banchan, steamed tender pork belly, lettuce, carrot, cucumber, beef bone broth and rice). The food were really good and very filling. Saw some customers ordering the king sized dumplings and they look interesting. Definitely large in comparison to the ones we normally get.. Overall, this is a good place for Korean style noodles. We tried the dumplings, the noodles, the clam noodles, and the seafood pancake. They also gave a generous serving of kimchi. I would say my favorite is the original noodles. The clam noodles comes with a lot of clams (and 1 shrimp) and the soup is less intense than the original, but it is a few dollars extra. The portions for the noodles are very generous. The dumpling was good though there are other places that do this better. Seafood pancake is great - was nice and crispy. I also wish there was some sauce for the seafood pancake and dumplings. There is some pickled onion/peppers that is supposed to be sauce for the dumplings / seafood pancake, but that is a little underwhelming - would have liked some vinegar or something like that. Kimchi is delectable. Service is a bit slow when it gets busy. They do have a waitlist system if there are no spots. There is a chart you wrote your name down and they go through the list as it's listed. So it's first come first serve. We ordered 2 bowls of the Meat GalKuSu (sliced steam pork with homemade noodles). The broth was tasty and the noodles were soft and smooth. I did wish the portions were bigger. There wasn't mist in it. You also get a couple side dishes just depends on what you order. I ordered the king size dumplings didn't realize it didn't come with noddles. It was literally dumpling in soup. It tasted really good. We added a plate of the steam king size dumplings which we saw everyone else ordering. I was still hungry lol. The service is average. 3.5 stars For two people, we decided to share the clam kalguksu and king-size dumplings. For $15, we felt that the quantity of toppings and size of the clams in the clam kalguksu were lacking. The noodles were slurp-worthy and the broth flavorful, too. I'm happy to report that I did not die of thirst after drinking most of the broth in the kalguksu. To me, this means that even if there was MSG, they weren't heavy handed with it and only used it to enhance the flavour that was already there. There are six very large dumplings in an order of the king-size dumplings. These were meaty and filling. I'm sure we'll be back to try other dishes. read more
