Jangteo Gukbap located at the corner of Yonge St. and Byng Ave is a recently opened new Korean restaurant in the Willowdale area. They specialize in gukbap (a Korean dish consisting of cooked rice served in a hot soup or broth, often with various meats and vegetables), however, they also have items like gamjatang (pork bone soup), as well as Korean cold noodles (mul-naengmyeon). They also have soju available as well! The space is small, with seating for around 30 customers. The menu is simple with many gukbap options. I dined at Jangteo Gukbap recently on a Sunday night a few weeks ago. We got there around 6:30pm and the place was half full, by the time we left the restaurant was completely full! Both of us decided to get mul-naengmyeon as it was a hot day. Our noodles came at a reasonable time and the broth was nice and cold. We got 3 banchan dishes to go with our noodles as well as vinegar and mustard to add to our broth. The noodles were great! Service was efficient and the staff were busy with customers. We decided to walk up to pay at the cashier. Great Korean place that opened in the Willowdale area, would love to return to try their gukbap!

Always walk by but never got to try.. till now! Wow, we've been missing out on this friendly and cozy store that tastes like homemade cooking! We were really impressed by it.. ordered our food and it came out fairly quickly. Everything was delicious and honestly, no complaints here! Really loved the bean sprout side dish!!

Debs was in Hansik Heaven! Great gukbaps. I had the beef cheek soup ttukbegae and spouse, the yukkaejang. The broth tasted natural without an added taste of dashida. Not salty, just clean food. The panchan was lovely ESPECIALLY the garlicky, spicy chives. We walked in, were warmly welcomed. It has the feel and fragrance of Halmoni's kitchen. Definitely will be back.

This place was busy on weekend even after 8pm but the wait wasn't too bad. The service was good and quick. Food was very good and price is reasonable. It's definitely one of the good Korean restaurant I have ever been. It's located on Yonge and Finch so parking was a little tricky. You can try on street parking or paid parking beside around 3mins walk.

This is a wonderful classic Korean restaurant offering everything I wished for. Authentic dishes, friendly staff, and cozy vibes make it unforgettable!

This is a Korean Gukbap place that is near Younge and Finch. They specialize in Gukbap which is soup with rice. We ordered the Soondae Gukbap and the Daeji Gukbap. The Daeji Gukbap has a clear broth with pork slices. The pork slices are super tender and the soup base is very clean but flavourful. The Soondae Gukbap is a pork bone soup base with Korean blood sausage in it. They have 2 different kinds of blood sausage in there, original and spicy. It also has a ton of different pork offal mixed in there as well. Jangteo Gukbap is definitely one of the best Gukbap places I've been to in the GTA. I would highly recommend this place on a cold winter day or if you're just craving some soup with rice!

I was starting to get really hangry and irritated after walking around the city all day. We started with Korean beer and shots of Jinro Is Back Soyu. It was a good idea. Overall the food was quite good. I recommend everyone to check this restaurant out for themselves. The Korean pancake with seafood and vegetables was huge and much crispier than the one I've tried before. My beef tartare bibimbap was perfect. Just thinking about it makes me want to have it right now. The sizzling hot plate with pork and squid also looked very impressive. It must have been delicious as well, because one of my companions ate the whole thing with no problem. The spicy shredded beef brisket stew/soup 'Yukgaejang' was something which i wouldn't survive, but my man finished everything to the last drop. Hence we entered Jin Dai Lae. Good decision (yes, I am patting my back). Entree pricing was $3 to $4 lower than Markham/Richmond Hill. Portion was so big that you would be full, and might have to doggy bag. Most importantly, food tasted good. Short ribs stew had many pieces of beef. Squids hot plate was saucy. It wasn't too spicy, so it was good for me (menu didn't have a chilli sign either). For people who like it hot, you can ask for some chilli sauce.
