Great food and service! They come right away after ringing the bell. Food quality is amazing, with great side dishes. If you pay with cash, you can get a 5% discount!

Sikgaek is an authentic Korean Restaurant in Mississauga that serves AMAZING Korean dishes! Their extensive menu offers noodles, fried chicken, BBQ, soups, and much more along with some new menu items are well worth trying. This spot has a relaxed atmosphere and their staff is very accommodating. If you can't find a parking spot at the front, there's also some at the back.

Our second time coming to Sikgaek. Coming in, this place was cozy and offered privacy which was nice. We were greeted warmly by the servers. We got their donkatsu spicy buldak alfredo omurice, the boneless Joseph chicken and dakjeon. The boneless Joseph chicken (4/5) was crunchy, cheesy and a slightly sweet nutty flavour. The donkatsu spicy buldak alfredo omurice (4/5) was delicious. The spicy buldak rice was balanced well with the creaminess of the alfredo sauce. The egg was cooked well and the donkatsu was crispy and tender. I wish there was more of the omelette because towards the end we were left with a lot more rice and no omelette. The dakjeon (3.5/5) was crispy on the outside with a slight chewiness on the inside. This savoury pancake had cubed chicken throughout but we found the chicken itself was rather dry. The green onion was a good addition to this dish as it enhances the flavour. The dipping sauce had a mixture of saltiness from the soy sauce, a hint of sweetness and some tanginess as well. The side dishes consisted of pickled cabbage, pickled radishes and kimchi. The kimchi was a bit salty for my liking. Although it was crunchy, I was hoping it would be more tangy.

Okay so parking in this tiny plaza is extremely limited which started the experience shaky. There s parking to the rear of the plaza but it also fills up. The individual rooms are fun but are even louder than sitting outside n the main dining area so keep that in mind. servers were good and attentive and there are bells in the rooms to get their attention as needed. The menu is quite diverse, so something for everyone. Banchan was okay. Only 3 served, traditional kimchi, picked daikon and pickled white cabbage. We ordered a pancake which was on the greasy aide but delicious and maybe a a little undergone in the middle. Their omirice was new to me and looked very pretty. house brown sauce was super sweet but grew on me. Fried rice was ok and the egg cover was super pretty. Not sure if the price tagr matched the value here. The Beef Jap Chae was delicious, not a lot of noodles for $20 but a ton of veggies for sure. Very flavourful. The fish cake souo was just disappointing. Literally fishcakes and one each of a lobster fish ball squid fish ball and a shrimp ball. Yes it was only $14 but no veggies other than a sprinkling of green onion, and did not come with a bowl of rice. Overall I think it was passable but other really good options nearby might make a return visit a far way away.

Really solid Korean restaurant and they stay open pretty late which is make them a great spot for late night dinner or snack! We got their soft tofu seafood soup and the boneless chicken in Joseph flavor. The Joseph flavor is like a creamy nut cheesy sauce. The chicken was crispy but the sauce was very rich and cheesy. Their soup was filled with toppings and pipping hot when it came out. The staff was kind and the food came out fairly quickly! I also love that they have private seating which are separated dividers.

The food here was really good especially the spicy candy fried chicken! I would definitly come back here. It is a little pricy but expected for Korean fried chicken places. Nice and clean tables and private areas to sit as well.

We ordered: - Pork Dumplings - Soft Tofu Kimchi Soup - Original Street Food Style Ttokbokki Pork dumplings were okay, I definitely preferred the Kimchi soup and the Ttokbokki over the dumplings! The soup was flavourful and the soft was super soft~ the Ttokbokki was definitely my favourite, it was chewy and there was a good amount of rice cakes and fish cakes available. Overall, I loved the food and I enjoyed everything! ‍ Service: Service was great! There's a button at each table that can be pressed when you need assistance. The servers were super nice, even apologizing for us waiting even the tiniest bit of time (not needed but appreciated!) Ambiance: There were a lot of seats with a few private sections for KBBQ. TLDR: It felt like an authentic restaurant with delicious food and lovely waiters. I will definitely be coming back!

amazing service and excellent food choices. Got the omurice and it was very flavourful.

    Dakgalbi cheese plate for 2

We stopped by Sikgaek for a late dinner this past Saturday and fortunately, it wasn't too busy. Several tables are tucked inside these wall dividers which was aesthetic and unique. It also gave us more privacy. We enjoyed this dining experience! There's also call buttons for each table you can press to get a server's attention. The banchan here was pretty standard. There was kimchi (sour, but I liked it!!), radish, and something else that I forgot, haha. We were able to get some refills, too. MOOL NAENGMYEON - 17 This was OK. The broth wasn't very sweet and it was on the blander side, so I just added extra vinegar and mustard. The toppings included pickled radish, cucumber and half of a hard-boiled egg. It didn't even have a piece of meat. It's nothing special and I've definitely had better at restaurants. CHEESE PLATE FOR 2: DAKGALBI - 42 This was the perfect sharable for the four of us since we also got our own entrees. There's plenty of marinated (sweet and spicy) chicken, cabbage, onions, and some dukkbokki and fish cakes. Of course, there was a ring of shredded mozzarella cheese on the side. Make sure the cheese doesn't "overcook", otherwise there's isn't much of a satisfying cheese pull and it just becomes a block of hot cheese. This was tasty and full of flavor since you get a mix of sweet, spicy and savory. It also made my naengmyeon more enjoyable when eating it all in one bite. Overall, decent experience here. I wouldn't recommend the naengmyeon, but the cheese plate was well-enjoyed by our group.

Yummy food! The fried chicken was crispy and had a nice flavour. The boneless joseph chicken was my fav. The gamjatang had a good flavour but wished it was more fall of the bone. The dak galbi was also good but there so much vegetable and not enough chicken for the price. They don't check in on you but if you press the service button, they come promptly. The restaurant is really cute. It reminds me of the hanok village in Korea.

    Plain Omurice

FOOD | Came for a friend's birthday and heard good things about the omurice on Google Review! It was one of the more expensive items on the menu, and it was actually a little salty because I got the plain version ($16). I think if the omurice came with the meat add-ons, the meat would help with some of the saltiness from the cream and sauce. Get the spicy rice -- it's actually got a decent amount of heat! AMBIENCE | Love the interior here -- there are wooden panelled booths that semi-close you off from the rest of the restaurant and makes the restaurant seem more authentic. SERVICE | There is a call button at every table so that servers can be called once you're ready to order. Other than that, they do not often come to your table to check on you or refill banchans. VIBE | I think it's a good place for a group dinner!

Been here several times now for years. One of my go-to Korean restaurants in the city. And since pandemic, have ordered take out and delivery! ATMOSPHERE: Casual dining atmosphere. Love all their hand drawn/written menus with cute illustrations peppered around the restaurant. There's a row of rooms (fits up to 6 people), and an open dining area as well. Accommodates small or large parties. Not too much parking though; they are part of a very small strip mall, so while there is parking - there's a chance you have to park further if lot is full. SERVICE: Service is pretty relaxed here. They are friendly enough, but only come when called. Sometimes during busy service hours, they do require a couple of calls using the button (at your table/room) - or one of us had to get up and flag someone. PRICE: Average to other Korean restaurants in the area. FOOD: They have a large menu with all the usual offerings of a sit-down Korean restaurant. But what do they do above the rest? KFC (aka Korean Fried Chicken)! Their KFC is the BEST: Incredible crunchy exterior with moist meat and great seasoning. Padak is my go-to flavour! They also have a great cold noodles, and their Gamja Tang (pork bone soup) has a version served with glass noodles (instead of rice). For take out they take orders by phone, but also take out & delivery via food apps: UberEats, DoorDash, and Fantuan (currently 15% off)

There is no doubt in my mind why this restaurant is highly rated. The available seating is limited given COVID restrictions but you feel extremely safe. Pretty much everyone gets their own enclosed booth. You ring a bell for service which on the most part was prompt and friendly. We definitely over ordered a bit because everything was sooo good. We had the classic chicken cheese plate - chicken was tender and flavourful. It went amazingly well with the Makgulri (rice wine). We also had the seafood pancake and some appy kimchi etc. The drinks were served in these copper bowls which supposedly was the traditional way to drink and everything felt super authentic. Definitely a must visit for Korean food lovers!

Seafood soft tofu - You can see the glass cup as a size reference.

Both don't include broth. - There is a promotion going on (May 2025) where if you get the dinner hot pot for lunch or dinner, pay an extra $1 to get broth. - I'd skip the meat at the self-serve area. You get enough beef and lamb already. Last Wednesday, our departmental meeting was pushed from its usual 1 pm start to 2:30 pm. Our team meeting was cancelled due to this move. I asked my friend what his schedule was like. It was clear, except for our afternoon meeting. It was the same for me. We had talked a while back about going for hot pot. I asked if he wanted to do hot pot for lunch. He said yes. Yay! We found three hot pot places roughly twenty minutes away from the office. We decided to try this one. We both hadn't been here before. I drove us over here. There was lots of parking in front of the restaurant. I backed into a spot and we walked in. We were promptly greeted by a woman. We got a table of two. We were quickly seated at table 37. Our seats were comfortable. The table was large enough for our hot pot, and all our food and drinks during our meal. We got menus. The lunch hot pot was $20.99. The dinner hot pot was available for $28.99. The only difference is that there's a section in the self-serve area that has dinner items only. We were told that there was a special going on. If we each got the dinner hot pot for $28.99, we could add $1 for broth. We said yes. Broth is separate. It's an interesting pricing structure. We wanted two types of broth for $9.99, but we added the $1 on the dinner hot pot to check everything out. For the broths, we got clear and curry. The woman said that she'd bring the pot out with the broths and we could help ourselves to the self-serve area. We liked both broths. My friend liked the clear one better. The curry tasted like Japanese-style curry, which had my heart. There was a lot of food. I made the mistake of getting dumplings and beef meatballs that were raw. I also got fish balls that were cooked. I recommend sticking with the beef and lamb slices, and skipping the proteins in the self-serve areas. There's enough protein already. Lesson learned! The fountain drinks are at the back. My friend loved the orange juice. He said that it was addictive like Tang. Oh, wow! I alternated between the Diet Coke and plum juice. They were excellent. I was happy with getting veggies, udon, and rice sticks. The mushrooms, potatoes, and sweet potatoes were fun to cook and eat. Any green veggie also worked well. We got thin slices of beef and lamb. They cooked quickly. I liked the beef more. The lamb was gamey even after you dip it in whatever sauce you have created. We felt that the pot itself was up high on the table. The depth of this pot was probably three inches. The cooking element was not sunken into the table. Trying to figure out where our food was swimming and whether it was cooked took more care than usual. We are fairly tall people and the added pot height took us by surprise. The pot also wasn't centred properly. Our curry broth was boiling away, but the clear was at a low simmer. I shifted the pot, which seemed to have made a difference to get both broths to do the same rolling boil. Sadly, one of my huge lamb dumplings wasn't cooked properly when I checked because of the weird discrepancy with the boils. I ended up putting it in a small bowl, pouring hot broth on top of it, and cooking it that way. I had already opened it up to check for doneness and didn't want to drop it back in. I felt like I overdid the cooking, but at least it was fully cooked! I somehow managed to get some dessert, which was a small section in the self-serve area. I got a small chocolate cake square, which was delicious. There were also peaches that were clearly out of a can. The honeydew melon chunks were fresh. I frankly feel that the lunch hot pot with a broth purchase would have been sufficient. I was happy to have tried mini corn cobs, enoki, and more from the dinner section. I would have been fine without it because there were so many food options. Our server asked if we wanted ice cream. It came with our meal. We were so full that we skipped it. The washrooms are in the back, just before you hit the beverages. The women's was clean. My friend paid for both of us at the front counter. I ended up paying him back when I got us back to the office. It's not bad paying roughly $35 after taxes for such a feast. We had a good time. It was a lot of food. We learned what not to do, so we'll be back to perfect our hot pot skills and try to squeeze in some ice cream! (160)

And when we found out it's a joint where you pick out your own components for a bowl of soup, we were extremely intrigued and excited to eventually check it out. So it was that we popped in for a meal on a recent Saturday. The place is quite small inside, but the man behind the counter was very friendly and explained how everything worked. We were given a large plastic bowl and told to fill it with the various components we wanted, which proved to be no small task as there were dozens of options available. I wound up cramming my bowl with different kinds of meat and sausages, along with a few standard veggies like bok choy and mushrooms. After that was done, I took my bowl back to the aforementioned man and requested the bone broth and the spiciest level of heat they had. (I was urged to go with medium instead, which I did and which turned out to be the right move, because the medium was more like very, very, very spicy.) The finished soup was brought to the table a short while later and it looked quite tasty. I wasn't expecting much but I'll admit that my socks were properly knocked off. This is one terrific, flavorful bowl of soup. The broth is so rich and layered, and it's enhanced by a heaping helping of garlic and chili oil. I'd put this right up there with the best ramen on offer in the GTA. Did I need quite so many components in the soup itself? No, probably not. When I return (and I certainly will), I'll definitely be a bit more conservative in terms of adding in ingredients. But wow, I am so impressed by Youxia Malatang.

Walking in, we were greeted with a smile. The interior of the restaurant was spacious with a private feel since they had areas sectioned off from one another. We ordered the Japchae (5/5), Boneless Yangnyum Galbi (4/5), Pork Belly (4/5). Japchae was delicious with a hint of smokey flavour to it. The noodles were chewy and complemented well with the savoury flavours of bulgogi. The vegetables added a nice crunch to every bite. The mushrooms added a chewy and fun texture to the dish. Boneless Yangnyum Galbi was so tender. Its marinade was on the sweet side which we weren't really a fan of but we still enjoyed the dish. Pork Belly was also tender. It was thinly sliced which was quite a let down since we typically prefer pork belly sliced a bit thicker. The BBQ we ordered came with two bowls of rice and lettuce (non-refillable), ssamjang and sesame oil with black pepper and salt for dipping, and some side dishes that were refillable: kimchi, bean sprouts, cucumbers and sweet potato. The overall quality of the ingredients, especially the meats, were great. It was pretty telling how much the cooks enjoyed prepping and cooking the dishes. This place is on the pricier side which is reasonable for the quality of their food. The portions are also reasonable for their price-points. I'd come back on a special occasion and/or when I'm craving japchae. The servers we had were attentive, checking in every so often to clear our dishes and change our grills.

The meat was really flavourful and well-seasoned, and they've got a big variety of cuts to choose from. I also liked that they've also got veggie options and other sides that make the meal feel balanced. The ambience is really nice too, kind of chill but still lively, and they've got these cute lights outside. Service was great, the staff were super kind and really quick to help us out whenever we needed something. It's a little on the pricier side, but honestly that's pretty standard for Korean BBQ, and the quality here makes it worth it. Easily in my top 3 Korean BBQ spots in Mississauga.

You can choose from regular or premium ingredients which include vegetables, beef, pork, chicken and variety of seafood. The staff are very friendly and helpful. And it has a family-friendly vibes. Once you have picked your raw ingredients, you can bring your tray to the staff, they weigh your tray, you'll pay and they'll cook it for you. You can choose from different sauce options and different spice levels. Be careful if you cannot handle spicy since even the mild sauce was too spicy lol. Bt I definitely recommend "Peanut Butter Dry Mix".

Even though there was a language barrier, they put an effort into explaining the flavours of their soup bases. The atmosphere was bright and airy. They had two different pricing: regular and premium. Walking in, you grab a tray with two separate bowls to separate the premium from the regular when they weigh them. The regular options consisted of vegetables and non-meat options. These were charged under $2.99 per 100 grams. As for the premium options, these included the meat and seafood, and were charged under $3.99 per 100 grams. We chose their spicy hot pot soup and the spicy peanut butter with soup. The peanut butter one is a must. The nuttiness added a layer of creaminess to the soup. Both were definitely spicy but we really enjoyed the spiciness in Chinese cuisines. If you're not familiar with how spicy their hotpots are, I suggest to ask the staff for a different soup base. I noticed the staff didn't ask whether we wanted our soups to be mild or medium. I'm guessing this is because of the language barrier but we would've preferred the spiciest level if we were asked. We also had the option for unlimited rice and ice jelly for an extra cost to which you can help yourself to at the corner of the restaurant. However, there was no station to make or prepare your dipping sauces unlike the hotpot restaurants we've been to in Markham which was a let-down. Overall, a decent spot in the city but we still prefer the Markham ones.
