Pad Thai and Malay curry huge portions
    Elvis A.

This is a review of the food delivery. They had a promo on the mango salad. The portions are on the big side IMO when compared with other spots. They have their work cutout for them otherwise as the Thai food options are many and the threshold is set high IMO. One of the regular chain(?) has started to falter a bit so I m trying a few spots here and there. Not a bad spot to try especially if you find a promo or two.

    Beef pad see ew
    Sharon Y.

Ordered delivery from here and the portions were extremely generous and everything was delicious. I got the beef pad see ew and despite it being delivered the food was hot and fresh, and the noodles were not too mushy. It also came with a ton of beef and veggies, the Chinese broccoli in the dish was also cooked perfectly with a good crunch. Currently there's a buy one get one free deal at Uber Eats so the dish works out to $13 each (after BOGO) before tax and fees, which is a great deal. Highly recommend ordering from here, and I bet it's even better fresh at the restaurant.

Pad Thai with thin beef that smells sour and sour
    Verlin W.

Ordered from UberEats and the food is AWFUL. Placed a order of Pad Thai and Red Curry, their staff delivers the food if you order on Uber eats, FYI,so the delivery will never updates. The food.... Sourness flooded when I opened the lid for pad Thai, literally like it's poured with white vinegar, and the beef had a funny flavour of sourness, while dish does not look right. Red curry, I've never seen mangoes in Thai curries, excuse me if I've offended anyone, but if a restaurant wants to fushion up their food please indicate it clearly for their consumers. My partner is allergic to mangoes, and nothing in the ingredients list indicates mangoes are included in the dish, so how do we consume it now? Besides tasting nothing but watered down coconut cream and a bowl full of mangoes we can't eat. FYI, I did my research of this restaurant before placing my order, so either they treat their delivery consumers differently with different standards of food than they serve their dine in customers, or else I highly doubt the honesty of those who left a good review

I went to Thairoomgrand location on Eglinton for some takeout. They are located on Eglinton Ave West near Allen road. I ordered the green curry chicken dish special. It came with some rice. Service was friendly and quick. I found the green curry chicken dish very good and delicious. Thairoomgrand is a welcome edition to the Eglinton Ave W strip.

Thai Basil Stir Fry (w/ Tofu)
    Jo-Anne L.

Great food + huge portions + ridiculously fast delivery = WIN! I ordered the basil stir fry, which came with tons of fresh vegetables and an excellent proportion of tofu. The sauce was delicious as well, a fantastic mix of flavours from spicy to sour to sweet. The food was nicely packaged, economical and tightly sealed. Am already planning my dinner here tomorrow!

    Grand platter

I saw the good reviews and like Thai food so we came out. 4 people ordered. All their dishes are very sweet like putting tons of sugar in them. I can say it's not authentic Thai food. It's very hard to taste other tastes or the taste of the food itself. All dishes taste similar, be lamb or chicken, coconut or curry. The price and service is okay. Obviously it's a new restaurant and the waitress knows very little about their dishes. We definitely won't go back.

Curry pad thai and Golden curry with rice
    Amber T.

I have been craving curry pad thai for years and finally found a place that does it just right! I was immediately smacked by nostalgia as I took the first bite of the savory noodles topped with crunchy peanuts (packed seperate so they stay crunchy). Although I would have loved more tofu pieces, you definitely get your bang for your buck here with a huge portion size. Also had the Golden Curry with rice, which had big, tasty pieces of broccoli and Bok Choy. But the Curry pad Thai was the clear winner for me. I'll definitely be back!

I was trying to eat a little healthier so I asked the waiter if it was possible to get the chow mein noodles simply boiled instead of also fried - if not that's totally okay I would simply get a different dish. There was a bit of a language barrier but he seemed to understand and said they could do it. The food took a very long time to come, well over half an hour. Unfortunately it seems like my request for the noodles wasn't interpreted correctly, as they came deep fried as normal. I know this is a risk that comes when ordering with a language barrier, but slightly unfortunate nonetheless. The chow mein was definitely heavy on the dark soy sauce and too salty for my preference. I did appreciate how generous they were with the meat and veggies though. My boyfriend got the cashew chicken and he enjoyed his dish. To note, none of the proteins come with rice and you have to order it on the side. Overall this restaurant is just okay, and doesn't really compare to the other great and affordable Chinese options in the city. However, in a pinch it works.

Many people complained about the lack of juice and thick wrappers. So I did not have high expectations. Surprisingly, their XLBs were good. Yes, the amount of soup is small, but it's there enough to taste the deep flavor. Yes, the wrapper was thicker than those popular XLB places, but beautifully pleated and had no leak. Transfer to the container was carefully done, which I appreciated greatly. The meat texture is good, without any stringiness. It was smooth and tender and with a well-rounded flavor. If it had a little more soup, and the skin was a bit thinner, it could participate in the best XLB competition (organized by me lol ) in GTA. Starting to feel winter in the air, I thought eating this XLB may be enjoyable on a cold day :) The restaurant had a high ceiling with stylish decorations - nice!

We have at least a dozen Thai restaurants but not a single Korean one, somehow. So I was surprised and delighted when I discovered that Hosu was operating a ghost kitchen out of ChiChop. I knew I had to try this for myself, so on a recent (and very cold) Thursday, I placed my order. I decided to get the Chicken Bibim Bap ("Original Korean bibim bop served with an assortment of vegetables & marinated chicken on rice") and it was ready for pickup as soon as I walked into ChiChop. It's fine. The accompanying gochujang sauce ensures that it always tastes like the venerable Korean dish, but the lack of ingredients was frustrating. I feel like this dish was 90% rice and glass noodles, and 10% other components (including chicken rife with inedible pieces). I ate the whole thing, of course, but was my bibimbap craving satisfied? Not entirely. We also decided to start with the Deep Fry Wonton ("Deep fried Chicken Wonton (12pcs) served with house made sweet & sour sauce), which was okay but nothing special. The chicken filling was so minuscule that it was almost impossible to taste, but the sweet & sour sauce was decent.

From the outside, the familiar black-and-white sign was clean but showed signs of age, with faint white streaks suggesting that the exterior could use a refresh. Inside, we were greeted by a wall of colourful sticky notes, adding a fun touch to the dark, brick-lined interior. I also appreciated the nearby sink, making it easy to wash our hands without heading to the bathroom. It was definitely convenient. After being seated, the menu left much to be desired. It showed its age, with white scratches that made it hard to read the items. The ordering system was not intuitive for a first-time visitor, so we had to rely on our server for guidance. Also, the drinks menu looked like a printout from Excel, which was small, hard to read and, unfortunately, overpriced. We ordered the Matey's Feast along with another order of seafood, which was a generous meal for three people. Matey's Feast is one of their set meals that allowed us to choose two types of seafood, along with a variety of sides. Each boil also came with two regular sides, which was a nice touch. We went with Captain's Boil seasoning at medium spice, which was just right for enjoying the seafood. The boils arrived in clear bags, and we had to take them out of the bag and eat by hand. Shrimp Basket: A hot and crispy appetizer served on a bed of Cajun fries, which really whetted my appetite. The tartar sauce and ketchup on the side complemented the crunch. Captain's Fried Rice with Seafood: A simple but tasty plate of rice with shrimp. We added some of the sauce from the seafood boils for extra flavour. It was filling. Seafood Boils: Each bag of seafood was packed with seasoning and came with disposable gloves so we could dig in with our hands. The clams were cooked perfectly, with just the right amount of spices. The shrimp required a bit more work, with the heads and shells needing to be removed, but they were large and fresh, making it worth the effort. The extra sauce in each bag was perfect for drenching our sides or adding more flavour to the fried rice. Sides: We chose corn for the regular sides and sausage for the premium side. Corns were quarter-length cobs of corn and the sausages were served sliced. We tossed both into the seafood boil bags to soak up the spicy sauce, making them even more enjoyable. The service was adequate, with staff checking in occasionally to ensure we had everything we needed. The washroom, located downstairs, was not spotless but still serviceable. In terms of value, I found the pricing to be on the higher side. The drinks, at $4 each, were refillable but expensive considering I only had two cups. Given that it's a seafood restaurant, higher prices were expected, but I appreciated that sides like fries and fried rice helped fill us up. Overall, I had a good time. My rating of 3 reflects the tricky ordering process and steep prices, but the food was definitely enjoyable, and I left feeling full. I'd return if I was in the mood for seafood boil and ready to splurge a little.

There was a table free, but it's like they didn't want to clear it, which is fine. We weren't upset when we were seated our server, didn't come back for a good next 20 minutes. Our server was straight to the point didn't care to introduce himself. Didn't really want to explain anything on the menu or offer us anything more when we were inquiring about different foods, which is fine our order was missing a side of calamari and literally every side with the seafood so the corn potatoes and etc., even extra sides that we ordered were missing. We thought they come separately so we were waiting, but we got so hungry. We just started eating the gloves they gave us. We didn't get a bucket, never inquired about anything. Our server didn't come back to ask us if we needed anymore assistance or anything we had to pull another server to the side and ask them if we still going to get our calamari in our sides and she implies that came in with the seafood bag. We just didn't know how it worked. We never been there and you would think someone that works. There would know what they're doing, but that's OK. Things happen so we asked for our sides but this is how I know our server which was a male was out to get us when my friend kindly asked for some water and our server proceeds to give her hot water on purpose when my friend turned around and shocked to look for the server he gave her a dead blank stare with a little grin. At that point we just wanted to go we asked the server that was supposed to give us our sides, which by the way didn't come another 10 minutes pass by we just asked for the check and told her we don't want the sides anymore. We just wanna go. Our server, which was the mail gives us our bill and I see that the sides are still on there. He proceeds to say it's a part of the package and then we said OK just give us the sides and then he proceeds with a lot of attitude to say well you are the one that sent the sides back, our food was already halfway done lol we just paid and ran out. I think the service in here is disgusting and the server that served us purposely had a problem with us. He was so kind of everybody else in the restaurant besides me and my friend all servers were amazing everybody else besides me and my friend and we didn't come in there. Complaining are making attitude are doing anything rude, we were kind and we still got treated like garbage. I think this change should be embarrassed of their selves. The manager should be embarrassed, and the guy serving us should be fired giving my friend hot water is evil and disgusting. He knew what he was doing and honestly, I don't even trust the food the way they were acting if you guys want sass and attitude with your food then yeah eat here.

We had the chicken and shrimp Pad Thai and the Nasi Lemak Ayam Goring. We really enjoyed the fried chicken, coconut rice of the Nasi Lemak Ayam Goring, and the amount of spice in the sambal onion and anchovies. The noodles in the Pad Thai had a firm texture which we liked, but for me the sauce was a bit sweet.
