This is as authentic as it gets. The food was on point and really brings you to Thailand. The service was excellent and the ambiance was very homey. The restaurant is connected to a Thai Mart and another restaurant that services pad Thai.

Located at the back of Thai Mart We got the small size boat noodle soup with braised beef and wonton (egg) noodles, Toddy palm cakes, coconut custard, and longan pandan juice Everything was so delicious, and served quickly. I love the noodles in particular, the soup was super flavourful and the beef was cooked perfectly. The service was very bare minimum, and the atmosphere is like a food court. I do like the wall paintings though! Prices are a bit high for the noodles (the small portion was ok for a light meal), but I understand that it's the signature dish

First off, I love the name--"555" is Thai texting slang for "hahaha" (because the number 5 is pronounced "ha"). It's a clever nod to Thai culture and a great first impression. The interior also makes a good effort to mirror a classic boat noodle joint--simple and no-frills, but still neat and nicely put together. I especially appreciated the condiment holder with fish sauce, sugar, chili, and vinegar--just like you'd get in Thailand. That authentic touch gave me a little nostalgia hit. But... that's where the charm ended for me. The bowl of noodles missed the mark. In Thailand, boat noodles are small, punchy, and intense in flavor. Here, the bowls are 4x the size and come with a bigger price tag. The result? A diluted broth and toned-down flavors that felt more catered to a North American palate than a celebration of the original dish. It seems like an attempt to bridge Thai boat noodles with ramen bowl expectations--but in doing so, the soul of the dish got lost. Less spice, less depth, and a lot less character. If you've never had the real thing in Thailand, this might come across as decent. But for anyone who has, it's hard not to feel a little disappointed.

The decor is cute & you can see them prepare the noodles with the semi open concept. They get 3.5 stars. Small boat noodles with pork & rice noodles had good soup that was pretty spicy & rich. Rice noodles thickness was between lai fun & vermicelli. The pork pieces were a bit rubbery but pork balls were decent. Longan pandan juice was refreshing & fragrant, though it used rehydrated dried longan. Coconut custard pretty creamy & rich. Palm toddy cake was spongy & decent.

While walking north on Yonge, we found the restaurant attached to the convenience store selling Thai snacks and groceries. There weren't many people waiting so we decided to take a break and grab a bite while at it. I ordered the boat noodles since I haven't had it in a long time. The restaurant is cute and petite. It's definitely a great spot for a quick meal. The bowl of noodles wasn't big, but was the perfect portion for me. The soup was delicious and the meat to noodle ratio was just right. Shortly after we sat down, a wave of people arrived and there was a line up again. I'll be back for their noodles and to tray Kati, the ice cream booth that's just outside of their shop selling ice cream in south east asian inspired flavours.

A great noodle joint tucked inside Thai market. Service was really friendly and knowledgeable. We liked the flavours of the soup broths. Very bright and good spices. Not heavy. Both dumpling appetizers were very well executed.

I don't associate Thai cuisine with noodle soup but maybe I should because it's really tasty. Stopped by for dinner and got: - Supreme Yentafo: The broth was tasty and had a nice zing to it. Pretty good amount of seafood. And the rice noodles had good texture. - Kek Huay: Really refreshing chrysanthemum juice which was a great counterbalance to the spicy sourness of the soup. - Toddy Palm Cake: Sweet rice cake, a nice little dessert to close out the meal. Prices are reasonable. Service is friendly. Kitchen is quick. Place is small but well laid out and interestingly decorated. Overall, a good dining experience and would definitely stop if you're in the mood for tasty noodle soup.

Everything at 555 Boat Noodles felt very homey. I ordered the pork and shrimp dumplings, lemon pork noodles with rice noodles (M), and mango sticky rice for dessert. I loved the lemon pork noodles--the broth was tangy and not too salty, with a delicious homemade flavour. The only downside was that the rice noodles broke apart too easily, but overall, it was really good. I'd love to try something new next time. The pork and shrimp dumplings were the highlight. The filling was bouncy and flavourful, and the green sauce added a perfect, zesty kick. The mango sticky rice was good but nothing special. I'd definitely return to 555 Boat Noodles. The food was great, the service was excellent, and the washroom was super clean.

It was snowing outside, which means it's time for some hearty noodle soup. I saw boat noodle on 555 Boat Noodle menu and immediately knew I needed to try it. Ambiance 4/5: a cute homey restaurant but it was small. Maybe holding max of 30 ppl, and at that capacity, there wasn't any path to walk or move around. You are literally shoulder to shoulder and walking in between a foot (I'm from the US so you do the math on what that is in metric lol) or two of "walk space" between tables. I almost tripped leaving the space. Customer Service 5/5: even though it was crowded on a Sunday night, everyone was tentative. The server came and apologized for the delay and seating arrangements. I really appreciated that. Food 5/5: I ordered the boat noodle, spicy. It was good, pretty flavorful. The waitress brought over the spices so I can adjust to my taste. I was able to make it more spicy and sweet/tangy. The braised beef was tender and the meatballs were a bit chewy, just how I like them. I wish I hadn't gotten the vermicelli since it was so thin, it had no chew to it; it just soaked up the broth. I would have opted for a thicker noodle. I live in California and have had multiple renowned boat noodles. I feel that based on location, this is a good hidden gem but it's different than the ones in California. Regardless, I enjoyed my meal and will come back if I'm ever in Toronto again.

555 Boat Noodles is downtown Toronto's hidden gem for flavourful Thai Boat Noodles. We tried some of their customer favourite dishes and it didn't disappoint. It's a popular spot located near Wellesley station and gets very busy so expect to wait a few minutes specially during peak hours but no worries coz the friendly and helpful staff are always there to assist the customers. We love the decor and open kitchen concept which gave us access to watch while they are preparing our food.

This place has a really lovely 'homey' feel to it. It felt like finding a small hidden gem. The Thai boat noodles reminded me of Vietnamese pho with more of a beef flavoured twist to it. And although the menu said it was going to be spicy, the spice level was actually quite nice and mild. The broth was flavourful and the braised beef was quite tender. The price was not cheap, but probably around average for the area: Small beef boat noodles - $15 Medium braised beef boat noodles - $20 Thai milk tea - $6 Service was good. Friendly staff and they even have a hook wall for coats. They were attentive to our peanut allergy (although unable to accommodate being cross-contamination free).

555 Boat Noodles, located along Grosvenor St. near Yonge St., is Toronto's newest Thai restaurant serving authentic boat noodles. They offer a wide selection of noodle soups (boat - choice of beef, braised beef, or pork, pork, lemon pork, tom yum seafood, pork ribs, yentafo) where you can choose your noodle of choice - either wonton noodles, rice noodles, or vermicelli. You can also choose your portion size as well (small or medium). They also have some appetizers as well as yum (I believe a cold Thai noodle dish), rice and drinks/desserts. The restaurant is small where there is seating for about 30 customers. They are currently in their soft opening phase. I stopped by 555 Boat Noodles on a Wed late morning right when they opened at around 11:30am. The restaurant already had several occupied tables. As soon as I sat down, staff gave me a small sheet with a QR code to view their menu. I opted to get the small pork noodle (Chinese broccoli, garlic, coriander, bean sprouts, onion) with rice noodles. I also opted for a fried wonton appetizer (friend shrimp and pork wonton with a spicy chili sauce) and kek huay (chrysanthemum juice). The food was made at a reasonable time. The fried wontons were smaller than I expected but had a delicious crunch and the spicy chili sauce was sweet but not overly spicy. The pork noodles were delicious - the broth it was in packed so much flavour! The pork noodle came with slices of pork 2 pork balls as well as a pork meatball. I enjoyed the noodle soup and definitely was thinking about the next time I would come back to try other items. Overall, great new place for Thai noodles in the downtown area! Service was friendly and food was great. Definitely will return for more!

Alex H.

Delicious! Will definitely be back to try other items on the menu (including the gelato/ice cream). The place is small - keep in mind if going with a larger group but perfect for groups of 2 or 3 people. The servers were very kind and helped answer questions. I would highly recommend the lemon pork. Had a nice kick of spice but was also well paired with the lemony broth.

We had spring rolls & garlic chicken as appetizers. Everyone ordered their own main. I ordered the Beef Pad Thai with some modifications for my food allergies & preferences. The pad thai was really delicious & filling! Well, maybe because I had the appetizers too. LOL. In any case I enjoyed my food & couldn't finish it all. So I took the rest home in a small container. We didn't have any dessert because we were full! Service: I came early to make sure we didn't lose our table & was seated right away. I ordered appetizers so when everyone came they would have something to eat while the main dishes were being cooked. The main dishes actually came pretty fast after we ordered them. Our waitstaff were two different ladies & they were very nice & efficient. Ambiance: The decor is very kitschy. There were paper lanterns hanging from the ceiling. And the door to the bathroom is a rustic wooden door. The tables are basic & chairs all had different colours. I don't mind the decor but it's very casual so not the best for a corporate dinner if you want something fancy. Also the music was quite loud. So it was hard to have a conversation. I like the food here & it's in a convenient spot. It's just really loud & casual. Also there isn't much space between the tables so if the restaurant is full it could feel squishy! I would come back here again to try some different dishes.

It was the perfect mix of sweet, sour, floral and bitter. I loved it! My husband had the Unit 75 which he really enjoyed. The grapfruit bitters rounded out the sweetness of the Chambord and the sourness of the lemon. We decided to order another cocktail each just as our food arrived. I had the I Have a Lychee Secret. It was a little on the sweet side, but was very yummy. I loved the black pepper on top but didn't really taste much cilantro. My husband had La Passionista which was great. It was so well-balanced and flavourful. The dumplings were AMAZING! The butterly pea infused tapioca gave the perfect bouncy, chewy texture to the outside and the mushroom and radish centres were so tasty. Our waitress explained that they should be eaten in a lettuce cup with cilantro, mint and peanuts. YUM! Such a flavour bomb. The only thing I would have changed would be to add some sort of a spicy, salty, sour dipping sauce like a nuoc cham. The green papaya fritters were also just fantastic. They were crispy, crunchy and the dipping sauce was a little spicy and sweet. All in all, we really enjoyed our meal and would 100% return. I have already reccomended them to others.

The soft shell crab pad Thai exemplifies the kitchen's willingness to honor tradition while exploring thoughtful variation. The dining environment presents an aesthetically refined space, though observations regarding atmospheric density suggest opportunities for enhanced comfort optimization.
