Location/Service This place is near the end of Main St, Markham - in a small plaza with a decent amount of parking available. It's right across from the go train station. Interior is pretty nice, lots of seats available and very nice authentic decor of Thailand. Staff were very friendly and nice. Orders were done on time and I also appreciate the explanation of any recommendation or food items. Food Tried a few items and they were all pretty good and consistent in terms of quantity and quality. I highly recommend the appetizer assortment. It comes with differ types of satay and rolls so you can taste a bit of everything. There's also a fried taro that was the best. Larb chicken lettuce wrap was nice too. It's more on the clean side so it helps change the palette. As for mains, they have a crispy pork belly with thai chilli and a shrimp pad med mamuang - which were very flavourful and strong with authentic thai spices. It wasn't as spicy as I thought too (which you can also ask to readjust) and I liked how it was plenty in quantity as well. I never knew this place existed since 2006 and I'm glad it's still thriving! Definitely will come back to try other classical dishes.

Canadian Thai flavour but still worth a visit for great lunch specials. Yes, I can be a bit of a Thai restaurant snob, as the flavour balance to get can be difficult. It has to have the right combo of sweet, sour, fishy and spice to make the curry stand put probably. Even in Thailand, Pad Thai can range from town to town but its not as sweet as anything in North America. Most chefs seem to add more sugar to dishes unless advised otherwise. Shared two types of Curry(red & massa), Tom Yum soup & Coconut curry, spring rolls, Fried Taro & Tofu. All very sweet! Fried Taro did not have much going on except the dipping sauces, wouldn't order again. 4* Food, lots of flavour, the right amount for lunch. Decent $15.99 lunch deals in 2023. Great flavour for most new to Thai food. Must try Thai Iced Tea, huge flavour from the steeping of black tea and sweetened with sugar and cream. 5* Service attentive and friendly in a quiet way, she is on her own during the lunch rush. Water was frequently refreshed. Lots of free parking in plaza, would visit again and ask for more limes, less sugar.

We are Thailand fans and glad to have found Little Bangkok which is not far from home. Our Nepalese server was very friendly, polite, welcoming and always greeted us with beautiful smiles. The restaurant is clean and the decor is not bad. I hate those 'fake' Thai restaurants serving ketchup Pad Thai, but this one doesn't! Foods were prepared hot and fresh. Next time we'll skip the Appetizer Assortment as it's not value for money, nearly 2/5 were paid for fried taro sticks! Foods there tasted quite authentic and the Kua Gai Noodle (fried chicken broad rice noodles) was good. We'll become regulars for this place.

Back for more! (March 1/22) Was I ever excited to dine in again at this gem in Markham! This was the first time in almost 2 years that we were dining in. Since covid, it was always take-out orders, but nothing beats the dining in experience at any restaurant - especially this one! We were warmly greeted and invited in to choose any table to sit at. Our server passed by frequently to ask how everything was and if we needed anything else. This is what we ordered: Green Curry Beef lunch special - $12.99 - 1 vegetable spring roll, Tomyum Lemongrass Soup and a side bowl of rice. I opted to add a mango salad to my meal for $3.00 Cashew Nut - this has to be, hands down, one of THE best, if not BEST Cashew nut dishes I have eaten/tried at any Thai restaurant. Full of flavour, great balance of vegetables, cashew and chicken. The sauce is seasoned so well and has the perfect amount of heat vs sweet to the dish. This is easily a fav for take-out or dining in. Some other fav dishes to check out: Pad Thai Fried rice w/pineapple Coconut rice (great option to any spicy dish!) Green/Red/Yellow Curries Appetizer assortment platter, satays - can't go wrong with any of their apps! #visitmarkham

Best Thai food in Markham! Little Bangkok is a wonderful family-run authentic Thai restaurant. The staff, management and chef are all from Thailand and are proud to offer their customers the best of Thai cuisine. It was my first visit to Little Bangkok restaurant for takeout recently and I'm delighted to say it was beyond my expectations. This place serves incredible meals that are a goldmine of flavours! Sweet, sour, salty and spicy all in one. If this restaurant were a game of golf, it'd be a hole in one! :D Located near the GO train station, it's right off the Main Street in Markham on the east side of the street. My coworker and I decided to venture here to sample their takeout offerings. We ordered basic menu items that are popular with regulars. **Green Curry Chicken is one of my favourites! It surprisingly was good, hot and spicy. **Chicken Tom Yum soup was extremely flavourful, every spoonful was packed with flavours, such a delight to the taste buds! *Pad Thai Chicken was exactly how it should be, perfectly well-balanced flavour profiles. *Vegetable Tom Yum soup was equally delicious and bursting with flavours! *Vegetable spring rolls were crispy and came with a sauce to dip the spring rolls. Judging from my excellent experience at Little Bangkok, I will be glad to become a repeat customer! They offer excellent tasting authentic Thai cuisine superbly prepared by their staff chefs! Please support this local Markham small business. The staff are wonderful and their attention to detail is refreshing.

First time coming back to dine in at one of our fav Thai restaurant "Little Bangkok " @littlebkkcanada in Markham!! We got "Red Curry with chicken", "Tasty Tofu" appetizer, "Thai Curry Puff"appetizer, "Mixed veg", "Beef Fried Rice", "Shrimp Pad Thai" (not in pic as kids ate them too quickly) and our fav Thai Iced tea!! My fav from all were the shrimp Pad Thai (sorry hungry kids and adults ate before the camera) which was tasty/flavorful while rice noodles are al dente!! Thai Curry puffs were kids all time fav, we ended up ordering another plate of 3. Thai Iced tea was amazing! I could totally finish it in a few big sips! #supportlocalbusiness , check them out! Looked so promising when we entered: a spacious dining room furnished with beautiful Thai sculptures, wood carvings and wall art. They even had a typical shrine along with portraits of the royal family, could this be a truly authentic Thai restaurant? Sweet hostess greeted and seated us. Ordered off the$8.99 lunch menu which includes an eggroll and soup. I had the Pad Thai with the lemongrass (Tom Yum) soup. The Pad Thai was too sweet and the soup was way too strong (overkill in the flavor department), the eggroll was tasty and crispy. Hubby had the Pad See Ew and added beef, he chose the coconut soup as the accompaniment; the beef was over tenderized but I liked the flavor of the noodles. The coconut soup was too heavy on the coconut flavor. Thai food is really tricky to cook, there are many different ingredients that go into a dish that can't be substituted. We've had really good authentic Thai food from hole in the wall restaurants with real Thai cooks from Thailand, so it's really hard for us to find a place that knows how to balance all the complex flavors together. Our search for really good, authentic Thai food continues.....

An authentic Thai restaurant that has good food and a fairly large lunch menu which is popular. For $8.99 you can select from the cheaper options which are generally chicken and beef dishes or for $9.99 you can select the fish and shrimp options. I have had a few of the curries which were good. I found the coconut soup that comes with the lunch way too salty and couldn't finish it. The spring roll that also came with it was average. I tried the mango salad which was pretty good! Overall a good value option.

3.5 stars. Cute, homey spot right off of Markham Main Street which seems to be family run. Came before the dinner rush, so we were the only ones dining. It is clean and furnished with a lot of decor that will take you right back to Thailand. Staff were attentive and constantly filling our waters. We ordered the Green Curry with chicken; steamed rice is extra moolah. This was really good and the flavours were on point, but the portion was smaller than what we expected for a price point of $13.99. We ordered the Pad Thai with chicken, which came to us as a major disappointment. Sort of rubbery tasting, maybe we just got a bad batch but the noodles seemed slightly chewy, giving the dish even more of a rubbery taste. As much as I was dying to give this cute spot at least 4/5 stars, every Thai restaurant should offer a killer Pad Thai dish. Sadly, this one did not suffice. We also ordered Thai Spring Rolls (3 per order), which were good but also felt like a small portion. To end on a good note, the Thai iced tea was great and took me right back to the streets of Bangkok. Overall, not a bad Thai option... maybe just don't order the pad Thai?

"Our restaurant never makes Papaya Salad (Som Tum) Spicy!" All I asked was to ask the kitchen to throw in a few Thai Chili pepper?! My Grilled Chicken with Sticky Rice ($8.95) was disappointing. The chicken tasted like it underwent some mutation... or rehydrated chicken?? Meh...

The server asked me to post a google review to exchange for a free Thai milk tea, I showed him I had posted many yelp reviews but that doesn't count, honestly the Thai milk tea doesn't cost much and I don't ask for free stuff, they could be more flexible in offering goodwill especially as a supportive customer, I showed them the many reviews I've posted. They now default to minimum 18% service charge on machine. I just feel tipping is going crazy these days, together with 13% tax, it means for a regular meal I'll need to pay additional 31% just for tax and tips. Tipping should correspond with service level, there's no reason to default to a high minimum 18%, I know I have right to adjust tipping amount, but sometimes it makes people feel small if they don't pay that much as requested. People might say if you're poor or stingy then don't eat out, but that's not the point, why are people forced to tip so much just for a regular job, I think that's greed! I still think they offer delicious authentic Thai meal but I'm not satisfied with above arrangements but having said that, I am unable to do anything which is disappointing!

For $6, we got a huge portion of chicken skin, we almost couldnt believe it. Thought they brought out the next size up by mistake. It came with a pickled cucumber vinegary sauce that was delicious when used to soak the white rice that came with the pad gra prow (which was super spicy thanks to the heavy use of Thai chill). Beautiful loungy decor, tinted windows, mood lighting..but somethtng threw me off immediately. The floors were slippery throughout the restaurant.. as if the floors were coated in grease. At first glance, the tables looked clean. But when you sat down and got a closer look, you can see the remnants of the ring of a plates and cups. The tables have not been wiped clean. At least I can say that about the 10 person table I sat on. I would expect that from a food court or a fast food restaurant but shouldnt be seen here. The server was friendly. Took our orders and asked about allergies, was attentive and brought out the food timely. Didnt have to wait to be seated for lunch. Moving on to the food. We tried the following: Green curry with fish was rich with a coconut milk base and a mild spice. Came with thai eggplant halves, green peppers slices and crunchy baby corn. Went great with the soft white fish. Very flavorful. Couldve came with a bit more rice. Pad thai with chicken was standard against other thai restaurants in the area. Good portion and large sized chicken and tofu pieces. Not heavy on the beansprouts which was a plus for me. Pad see mao was very flavourful. Always prefer this style thick noodle to the simpler pad see ew as it has more flavor and spice vs just soy sauce. Neat to see the whole peppercorn still on the stem. Papaya salad was great! Thin slices of perfectly ripe papaya with mini shrimps and topped with peanuts. The fish sauce dressing had great balance. Pineapple fried rice was presented beautifully in a carved out pineapple! Only down side to that is it became a space filler! Regardless, it was delicious. Great amount of spice. A generous amount of crispy pork belly. Big chunks of the sweetest most refreshing pineapple mixed into the piping hot rice. Grilled pork jowl was ok. Thinly sliced and had chewy texture. Came out with a balanced chili sauce to break through the fatty meat. Thai iced teas were too sweet. Was disapointed that they did not have the typical strong tea flavor. Even the color alone was telling. It was mainly milk and sugar. Was more sweet and icy than anything else. Overall the food was great yet I couldnt get over the greasy floors and that tables arent wiped down thouroughly between customers. Really hoping that was a one off. Because for a sit down restaurant serving great food with those price ranges, its disappointing.
