On a cold weeknight, stopped at the this nearby family-owned Thai restaurant just north of the Main St Markham. I wa always drove past it but their fairly new store sign caught my attention, so wanted to check it out. I decided to try the chicken red curry, as its not too spicy and just a mild kick with it. The curry was quite solid, creamy and thick, and filled with flavour. Also, ordered a rice, which is unfortunately excluded from the curry. Then, tried the beef pad see ew to share which overall tasted delicious - coated in a savory-sweet soy sauce and tender crispy veggies ( broccoli, carrots etc.) The staff were super friendly, and the atmosphere felt so warm and welcoming -- perfect for a casual family meal. The price range is solid between $15 to $20 per dish. If you love authentic Thai food, this spot is absolutely worth checking out read more

This place isn't bad it was pretty average, I ordered the paad kee mao, green curry and basil fried rice. I found their portion size to be very little, but the taste was really good for the paad kee mao, good texture on the noodles wishes it was a bit more spicier. The basil fried rice was really good I think that was the best thing I tasted here. The green curry was way too sweet, there was not enough spice to it. The jasmine rice was flavourful. The service was good staff were friendly and the owner or worker took a picture of my family with my daughter. It is a nice small family restaurant but I think khao san rao is still the top place for Thai food. read more

This is becoming one of my favourite go-to places to eat! I treated my mom to lunch for her birthday, and we had a great time. Lunch time is less crowded, so this was perfect for a quieter setting. The server was so sweet and cheerful. And the food, as always, was astounding. My friend recently introduced me to the roti on the menu, so I just had to get it again! My suggestion is to get it with curry and dip it in. Can't wait to find another reason to grab a meal here! read more

Location/Service This place is near the end of Main St, Markham - in a small plaza with a decent amount of parking available. It's right across from the go train station. Interior is pretty nice, lots of seats available and very nice authentic decor of Thailand. Staff were very friendly and nice. Orders were done on time and I also appreciate the explanation of any recommendation or food items. Food Tried a few items and they were all pretty good and consistent in terms of quantity and quality. I highly recommend the appetizer assortment. It comes with differ types of satay and rolls so you can taste a bit of everything. There's also a fried taro that was the best. Larb chicken lettuce wrap was nice too. It's more on the clean side so it helps change the palette. As for mains, they have a crispy pork belly with thai chilli and a shrimp pad med mamuang - which were very flavourful and strong with authentic thai spices. It wasn't as spicy as I thought too (which you can also ask to readjust) and I liked how it was plenty in quantity as well. I never knew this place existed since 2006 and I'm glad it's still thriving! Definitely will come back to try other classical dishes. read more

Flavour is very good. Ingredients are fresh and of good quality. 2 diners. We ordered the Larb Chicken Wings - you get 7-8 pieces. We decided in the Original Pad Thai , Tom Yum soup - single portion is big and it had noodles in it. We also ordered the deep fried pork belly and green curry w beef. All were delicious and well executed and as mentioned, there's quality in their ingredients. Oh and we had to have rice to pair w the delicious dishes which were served in cute containers. Service with a smile and attentive. Helped with our big take home containers. Ambiance was warm and clean. Free Parking available. Location is across Markham GO station. Our first time and eating here and experiencing their food made us plan our next visit to try the other items in their big menu! Worth a try guys.... read more

Canadian Thai flavour but still worth a visit for great lunch specials. Yes, I can be a bit of a Thai restaurant snob, as the flavour balance to get can be difficult. It has to have the right combo of sweet, sour, fishy and spice to make the curry stand put probably. Even in Thailand, Pad Thai can range from town to town but its not as sweet as anything in North America. Most chefs seem to add more sugar to dishes unless advised otherwise. Shared two types of Curry(red & massa), Tom Yum soup & Coconut curry, spring rolls, Fried Taro & Tofu. All very sweet! Fried Taro did not have much going on except the dipping sauces, wouldn't order again. 4* Food, lots of flavour, the right amount for lunch. Decent $15.99 lunch deals in 2023. Great flavour for most new to Thai food. Must try Thai Iced Tea, huge flavour from the steeping of black tea and sweetened with sugar and cream. 5* Service attentive and friendly in a quiet way, she is on her own during the lunch rush. Water was frequently refreshed. Lots of free parking in plaza, would visit again and ask for more limes, less sugar. read more

We are Thailand fans and glad to have found Little Bangkok which is not far from home. Our Nepalese server was very friendly, polite, welcoming and always greeted us with beautiful smiles. The restaurant is clean and the decor is not bad. I hate those 'fake' Thai restaurants serving ketchup Pad Thai, but this one doesn't! Foods were prepared hot and fresh. Next time we'll skip the Appetizer Assortment as it's not value for money, nearly 2/5 were paid for fried taro sticks! Foods there tasted quite authentic and the Kua Gai Noodle (fried chicken broad rice noodles) was good. We'll become regulars for this place. read more

Back for more! (March 1/22) Was I ever excited to dine in again at this gem in Markham! This was the first time in almost 2 years that we were dining in. Since covid, it was always take-out orders, but nothing beats the dining in experience at any restaurant - especially this one! We were warmly greeted and invited in to choose any table to sit at. Our server passed by frequently to ask how everything was and if we needed anything else. This is what we ordered: Green Curry Beef lunch special - $12.99 - 1 vegetable spring roll, Tomyum Lemongrass Soup and a side bowl of rice. I opted to add a mango salad to my meal for $3.00 Cashew Nut - this has to be, hands down, one of THE best, if not BEST Cashew nut dishes I have eaten/tried at any Thai restaurant. Full of flavour, great balance of vegetables, cashew and chicken. The sauce is seasoned so well and has the perfect amount of heat vs sweet to the dish. This is easily a fav for take-out or dining in. Some other fav dishes to check out: Pad Thai Fried rice w/pineapple Coconut rice (great option to any spicy dish!) Green/Red/Yellow Curries Appetizer assortment platter, satays - can't go wrong with any of their apps! #visitmarkham read more

Best Thai food in Markham! Little Bangkok is a wonderful family-run authentic Thai restaurant. The staff, management and chef are all from Thailand and are proud to offer their customers the best of Thai cuisine. It was my first visit to Little Bangkok restaurant for takeout recently and I'm delighted to say it was beyond my expectations. This place serves incredible meals that are a goldmine of flavours! Sweet, sour, salty and spicy all in one. If this restaurant were a game of golf, it'd be a hole in one! :D Located near the GO train station, it's right off the Main Street in Markham on the east side of the street. My coworker and I decided to venture here to sample their takeout offerings. We ordered basic menu items that are popular with regulars. **Green Curry Chicken is one of my favourites! It surprisingly was good, hot and spicy. **Chicken Tom Yum soup was extremely flavourful, every spoonful was packed with flavours, such a delight to the taste buds! *Pad Thai Chicken was exactly how it should be, perfectly well-balanced flavour profiles. *Vegetable Tom Yum soup was equally delicious and bursting with flavours! *Vegetable spring rolls were crispy and came with a sauce to dip the spring rolls. Judging from my excellent experience at Little Bangkok, I will be glad to become a repeat customer! They offer excellent tasting authentic Thai cuisine superbly prepared by their staff chefs! Please support this local Markham small business. The staff are wonderful and their attention to detail is refreshing. read more

Little Bangkok - Pad Thai with shrimp - Thai Near Me - Markham, Ontario

First time coming back to dine in at one of our fav Thai restaurant "Little Bangkok " @littlebkkcanada in Markham!! We got "Red Curry with chicken", "Tasty Tofu" appetizer, "Thai Curry Puff"appetizer, "Mixed veg", "Beef Fried Rice", "Shrimp Pad Thai" (not in pic as kids ate them too quickly) and our fav Thai Iced tea!! My fav from all were the shrimp Pad Thai (sorry hungry kids and adults ate before the camera) which was tasty/flavorful while rice noodles are al dente!! Thai Curry puffs were kids all time fav, we ended up ordering another plate of 3. Thai Iced tea was amazing! I could totally finish it in a few big sips! #supportlocalbusiness , check them out! Tucked away in a small corner within a plaza. This little place serves up some pretty tasty dishes. Staff are friendly and attentive. Your water glass is never empty. I tried several dishes at this place, green curry, pad Thai, sweet and sour shrimp, corn sweet peas and carrot, pineapple fried rice, fresh rolls, satay chicken, mango salad, mango sticky rice and the roti roll. The vegetable dishes were a tad salty, but all the other dishes were well flavoured. I would come here again. read more

Placed an order here for work and they were super accommodating in catering to the request of separating each order with everyone's names. They were so nice and great to deal with customer service wise it was great! Our order was also quite large for lunchtime so we appreciated them accommodating the request. Food wise everyone enjoyed their meals. We ordered the lunch specials and it came with a choice of soup and a spring roll alongside your main dish. I personally ordered the chicken pad Thai with chicken tom yum. By the time I had the chance to eat my meal it was already about two hours later because of work but I still enjoyed my meal. I'm sure it would of tasted even better warm. The Tomyum came with some veggies and chicken. read more

Looked so promising when we entered: a spacious dining room furnished with beautiful Thai sculptures, wood carvings and wall art. They even had a typical shrine along with portraits of the royal family, could this be a truly authentic Thai restaurant? Sweet hostess greeted and seated us. Ordered off the$8.99 lunch menu which includes an eggroll and soup. I had the Pad Thai with the lemongrass (Tom Yum) soup. The Pad Thai was too sweet and the soup was way too strong (overkill in the flavor department), the eggroll was tasty and crispy. Hubby had the Pad See Ew and added beef, he chose the coconut soup as the accompaniment; the beef was over tenderized but I liked the flavor of the noodles. The coconut soup was too heavy on the coconut flavor. Thai food is really tricky to cook, there are many different ingredients that go into a dish that can't be substituted. We've had really good authentic Thai food from hole in the wall restaurants with real Thai cooks from Thailand, so it's really hard for us to find a place that knows how to balance all the complex flavors together. Our search for really good, authentic Thai food continues..... read more

An authentic Thai restaurant that has good food and a fairly large lunch menu which is popular. For $8.99 you can select from the cheaper options which are generally chicken and beef dishes or for $9.99 you can select the fish and shrimp options. I have had a few of the curries which were good. I found the coconut soup that comes with the lunch way too salty and couldn't finish it. The spring roll that also came with it was average. I tried the mango salad which was pretty good! This is an update to my last review. Decided I wanted to order some Thai food and this place has always been pretty consistent. Unfortunately, I am changing my review based on today's visit. I ordered food for pick up and was told to pick it up within half an hour. Upon going to pick up he was too busy answering phones to pay attention and said my food hadn't come out. 15 minutes later I checked back in and again said it wasn't ready. Turns out the bag had been sitting there the whole time. Once I got it home that was a whole other story. We always order the chicken pad Thai, green curry chicken and basil chicken. Needless to say we like our chicken. All three dishes were tasted different and it's because the chicken they used was so dry it was like leather. I was extremely disappointed with the state of the chicken that it was difficult to actually enjoy any of the dishes. Usually the basil chicken is never leftover as it usually is the best dish. Sadly more than half was not consumed. This may have been a one off and perhaps they used old chicken or different quality chicken, but I definitely will not getting those dishes again. read more

3.5 stars. Cute, homey spot right off of Markham Main Street which seems to be family run. Came before the dinner rush, so we were the only ones dining. It is clean and furnished with a lot of decor that will take you right back to Thailand. Staff were attentive and constantly filling our waters. We ordered the Green Curry with chicken; steamed rice is extra moolah. This was really good and the flavours were on point, but the portion was smaller than what we expected for a price point of $13.99. We ordered the Pad Thai with chicken, which came to us as a major disappointment. Sort of rubbery tasting, maybe we just got a bad batch but the noodles seemed slightly chewy, giving the dish even more of a rubbery taste. As much as I was dying to give this cute spot at least 4/5 stars, every Thai restaurant should offer a killer Pad Thai dish. Sadly, this one did not suffice. We also ordered Thai Spring Rolls (3 per order), which were good but also felt like a small portion. To end on a good note, the Thai iced tea was great and took me right back to the streets of Bangkok. Overall, not a bad Thai option... maybe just don't order the pad Thai? read more

Food is pretty good, a solid 3.5 stars with a good round up! I have visited this plaza countless times and have never had the chance to stop at this restaurant. How glad that I did! We ordered the appetizer platter, the tamarind curry, and pad thai. We definitely should have ordered the Thai style pad thai because the western style was too sweet. That was on us though, because the waitress asked before we ordered. So my advice is order the Thai style pad thai!!! All the food was very good and flavourful. I did take one star off though because it is on the expensive side. You are looking at around $15 per person if you order one entree for each person. Overall though, I enjoyed it! read more

Ate in last night with my parents. 3.5/5, +.5 for service. Highlights included the fresh spring rolls, chicken satay, roasted duck red curry, thai curry puffs, and fried ice cream. I particularly enjoyed the satay and sweet sauces this restaurant had, and I even liked the red curry (and I'm a person who has a low spice tolerance). I also had the golden squid which was okay, but not too memorable. It was pretty much squid rings in deep fried batter; something many other restaurants have already. Service, once again, was excellent. The waiter explained every single question we had, and kindly offered us alternatives for dessert since we arrived quite late, and many options were already out for the night. Surprisingly we never touched any rice or noodle dishes this time around. Perhaps next time? read more

I debated between a 3 and 4 and I'm going to stick with giving this a 4.0 (really a 3.5 rounded up). Loved the authenticity to this place. Lots of Thai accents, and traditional Thai accents and menu selection. All of the notes on location are true. It's in a strip mall style plaza next to a GO Station parking lot. It has a lot of traffic during the evening and a decent value selection for the lunch menu. There are two lunch menus, one for $8.99 and one for $9.99. I attached a photo of that menu. I ended up having the Basil Beef and Lemon Chicken Soup. I didn't want to, I wanted the Pad Thai, but the thing is, if you didn't have $10 before taxes, you had to pay cash. I get that things are pricey for card transactions but come on... Anyways, in terms of food quality I thought the lemon soup was a tad too citrusy and sour, but it was delicious none the less. The basil beef was great, good amount of meat, hot, fresh, and enough rice and veggies to make a good lunch. While i'd agree to portions being small, I'd say that they're perfect for a quick lunch or business lunch. I don't expect to get stuffed but this will satisfy a craving and be something that won't keep you bloated. Happy to come back to try a few more things. read more

Thanks for ruining our New Year's Eve dinner....we placed our order over an hour and a half...was told to pick up our order at 7:55pm--we get there at 8 AND a line up of 10 ppl standing around all waiting for their orders. Not a single person came to attend to the line up--after 5 minutes I screamed for the gentleman to check in on our order and he was rude--he just said "not ready"--we asked how long and his response was "very long". We then said if you can't tell us how long then cancel the order. He literally said "ok" scrunched up my order-paper and walked away! WTF!--WOW! I pick up the phone and called ChangRai (Kennedy & 14th) and guess what? My order is already picked up--i''m on my way home to finally have a feast with my family because ChangRai was competent, friendly and runs a business! Please note--there were at least 15 orders all packed ready for their customers to pick up! Smooth process!! You guys should pick up some tips from them. read more

Having a growing desire for good Thai food in the area, I can across Little Bangkok from Yelp. Came here for my birthday dinner, and despite having lived in this area for a while, I haven't came across Little Bangkok. From the outside, it looks like a modest restaurant, but walking in this restaurant, it is decorated beautifully inside. We were given our menus and drinks right away. We decided to try their: 1) Mango Salad ($8.99) The mango salad has thinly sliced pieces of mango in it, on top of a carrot and green salad with a little bit of nuts in it and is drizzled with delicious sauce. 2) Chicken Pad See Ew ($11.99) The pad see ew if you have never had it before, has thick noodles and is covered with a lighter sauce than most Thai dishes (tastes a little peanut-like in my opinion), and is decorated with tons of vegetables. 3) Yellow Chicken Curry ($11.99) This is probably the smallest curry bowl I have seen, and it didn't come with rice, so we had to order rice on our own. The curry was spicy, but it wasn't over the top spicy, and shredded chicken was generously placed in there. 4) Jasmine Rice ($2 each bowl) I would say that this bowl of jasmine rice is larger than other Thai restaurants. 5) 2 Mango Lassi Drinks Mango drinks are standard and taste delicious after a spicy dish. All of the food proportions are small in size, but was really delicious. read more

Came by for quick bite, they were still serving lunch, we ordered the Pad Thai that came with soup and spring roll, and also chicken skewers with peanut sauce. The Pad Thai was al dente which was nice, not too soft, how the noodles are supposed to be, soup was okay and spring roll was nice and hot. Chicken skewers with peanut sauce has great flavour but just a little bit on the dry side, I guess because it was thin. Overall, love the Pad Thai and would come back for it and maybe try the curries and salads next time! read more

Arriving at the small parking lot and seeing the tiny store, we were reluctant to believe there was such a great Thai place here. We went in to the simple restaurant and noticed the several cultural art pieces on the wall and soft Thai music playing. We ordered the appetizer assortment, pineapple chicken curry, steamed brown rice and pad Thai. The appetizer assortment included a sweet and fragrant mango salad that had a bit too much dressing, the chicken skewers were moist and mild, the shrimp rolls were crispy with a nice hint of pepper, the fried taro was breaded very nicely, fresh spring rolls were very savory especially when paired with the tangy sauce, the Thai spring rolls were fresh and tangy. Overall, the appetizer assortment is a good sampler of some great dishes with nice mixture of different flavors and textures. The pad thai sauce was a bit too thick, but the noodles were springy and the shrimp was very fresh and overall the pad Thai was very good, altho next time we will try the pad kee mow. The pineapple chicken curry was very aromatic. The curry was a bit strong for my wife, but paired with the rice it was perfect for me. Spicy with a nice hint of mint and pineapple sweetness. The low point was the semi-stringy chicken. With the curry in my mouth, I accidentally breathed in through my mouth and the lovely sweet aroma filled my sinuses and airways. Surely an unorthodox way of appreciating food, but very pugent and filling. I was not a big fan of the brown rice though I was able to appreciate the nicely blended flavors. As a pairing with the curry, the flavors seem to clash slightly. We ordered a jasmine rice, the plainess going much better with the strong curry. The service was quick and attentive, dilligently refilling our water, with the required checking to ensure everything was to our liking. We ordered a lot of food, so the bill was large but very reasonable. We ended up packing up quite a bit of the food. We left very full, and very satisfied and pleased that there was such a gem hidden on main street Markham. read more

2. 5 stars. My review is based on lunch experience on a weekday. Service was friendly and polite. I ordered something from the lunch special menu; basil chicken fried rice which came with a spring roll and a soup (lemon chicken soup or coconut chicken soup). You can add a side of mango salad to lunch special for $1.5. Food was very OK; portions were very small. Side of mango salad is very very small; I guess it's alright as its only $1.5. Both mango salad and soup were too salty for my liking. Chicken fried rice was just ok; this was the smallest fried rice I ever got; not sure if this is small because it's lunch special or its their regular size. Fried rice was loaded with onions and more onion, mixed with bok choy, diced carrot, corn and peas, little thin pieces of chicken. Overall, food was just okay, portion was small. Service was polite and nice quiet ambiance. read more

As soon as we parked our car in front of the restaurant, we could smell the aroma of goodness! Since it was our first visit, I wasted no time letting staff know that I'm Thai. Within a few minutes, a lovely Thai lady in the kitchen came out to greet us. Ah ... it felt almost like home! I was very impressed with everything we ordered. Delicious, authentic flavors and right portion size, this place reminded me of a mom and pop place in Thailand. The Tamarind Fish Delight - Pla-Jian. Perfectly fried fish with rich and flavorful tamarind sauce was a hit at our table. Roasted Duck Red Curry - Gang-Ped-Pad-Yang was absolutely divine! Tender and buttery duck in spicy and creamy with hints of lemongrass, ginger and kaffir leaf. A must try dish! Since our parents prefer milder dishes, we also ordered stir fried vegetables and fried rice. They were all terrific and well prepared. And to finish off, a large order of deep fried bananas. Our parents enjoyed the restaurant so much that we have since returned several times. We are happy to report that the service and quality of food have been consistently excellent. read more

After almost three weeks of meats and taters, I came back to TO craving coconut rice. Then my friend's coworker recommended this place and a day later, there we were. At first glance the restaurant sign is simple. Had we not been searching for it, I would have missed it. Heck, I did miss it until my friend (who had street viewed the place prior) pointed it out to me. The exterior is nothing fancy, but the interior is nice: warm atmosphere, nice blue table cloths, soft background music - great for a girls night, I'd hold off on bringing any young families though. Several people came in and out before we ordered to pick up take out. The place seemed popular enough. The service was prompt and the food came out quickly. I ordered the roasted duck curry and a coconut rice and my friend ordered the tamarind beef curry with a coconut rice instead. Why this place lost a couple of stars: we ordered two coconut rices, only one bowl came. Although it was larger, there was an assumption we would want to share. We did not. The coconut rice was also not creamy. Unlike my favourite Thai place in Hamilton, the sweet coconut milk taste was lacking. My duck curry also had lots of skin, fat and bones in it. I ended up wasting a lot of an already small dish. My friend enjoyed her tamarind beef, her only complaint was that they charge an extra dollar for all beef dishes, even if beef comes standard with the order. This seems to be an add on as a label was printed and taped to the cover of the menu. Overall, the food was not bad, it just was not great. I haven't found a Thai place in Markham, like the hole in the wall in Hamilton, but until then, this will do. read more

This cute little Thai restaurant is situated in Markham and seems like a family run business. There is always a male and female server who manages all the tables but they are efficient. Our favourite dishes are the pad thai, the coconut rice, and their cashew chicken. They do make a delicious fried fish with tamarind sauce but I find that their fish needs to be more crispy. They also do sell tom yum soups and tom kha gais but they are quite price at $6/bowl. I wouldn't mind paying for a bowl of soup that I can't make at home for less money (ie: tom yum soup). But something like tom kha gai should be less than $6/bowl... Overall, we are frequent visitors so we'd definitely go back! read more

Cute little Thai restaurant behind Markham go station. The decors are nice and give off a homey feel. The Thai iced tea is delicious! The food was good. I ordered the mango fish and I honestly didn't know what to expect. I was thinking fish cooked in a sauce but I was surprised it was fried fish. It's a bit dry to eat with just rice (extra cost) so I recommend eating with the mango salad or if you are with someone.. order two dishes and share. read more

I wanted to really like this place as its right beside my house. But disappointingly the service was extremely bad to the point where I felt that they were discriminating against our table for some reason. The waiter gave us really blunt replies and basically we had to ask if our order was out yet after 20 min of waiting. Food wise a disappointment as well. The price point was pretty high considering that all the curries didn't come with rice and the portions were small. The biggest problem was the green curry, as it had a spoiled taste to it and smelled really weird... We tried informing the waiter but was ignored. The fried rice that we ordered was on the dry side... The pad Thai was the best out of the three but I've definitely had better around the area . Overall I will not be back. read more

Panang beef curry, shrimp green curry and the coconut rice were all delicious. The spice level was just right (which probably means a bit westernized). Coconut rice was fragrant and amazing, but 2.75 for a small bowl =(, I could eat like 5 of those to soak up all that curry goodness. Only other (minor) complaint is that the curries are a tad sweet, but nothing like Salad King sweet. Again, maybe a bit restrained to not blow off our Western taste buds? read more
