Although the food here was phenomenal, I cannot say the same about the service. I expected better. Dine-in was so painfully slow that I witnessed the other three in our party (Mom, Aunt, and her friend) be served their meal 20 minutes before mine even arrived at the table. The flavor profile of the Pad Thai was spot on with subtle undertones of tamarind. I decided to try this place out because I received a takeout menu in the mail for this new location which so happened to be nearby. The staff were so kind and accommodating when I ordered over the phone and when I picked up my food in person. I really appreciated the fact that they let me change the Spicy Thai noodles to have broccoli instead of peppers at no extra charge. We Ordered: - Spring Rolls - Mango Salad - 2 x Chicken Pad Thai - Spicy Thai Noodles ( aka Pad Kee Mao ) our bill was around $50ish The Spring Rolls were so large & filling, the Mango Salad was fresh & delicious, The Spicy Thai noodles had such a great spicy basil flavour, they really hit the spot just right. Unfortunately the Chicken Pad Thai dish was my least favourite. There were no vegetablessuch as green sprouts or green onions and it really lacked sauce so much so that when I took it out of the container the the noodles were completely stuck together and dry. Ordered lunch take out on a Saturday and there was no one at the restaurant except for 2 people who seemed to be the owners. They were too busy talking to each other to take an order for the lady that came in behind me. I was told 10 min for my order of pad Thai and chicken wings and it was finally ready after 25 min. I have ever only ordered the pad thai here, and it was ok. It's close to the bakery I frequent so if I'm lazy to cook I stop by here to order food. My friend said that the chicken pad see ew was ok. The pad that kind of tastes like it was made with ketchup, the sauce tasted a bit sweet and a little sour, it's not bad though. But it is pretty pricey and unless you're too lazy to cook for yourself or find another place, it's not that worth it. The 2 noodle dishes were quite subpar and the Malay curry was not edible-rotis were all slightly over cooked and chewy-like the dough had been overworked. Absolutely fantastic Beef Pad Thai. I ordered extra spicy and it had great heat to it. Whereas many restaurants just provide a side of some red chilli sauce, these guys notched up the spice level during the cooking - I could see some fiery green chillies in there, half cooked. Loved it! Note to restaurant: Please include a nice sized lime wedge and not a little sliver! Food was ready in 10 minutes after the phone order, so plus points for that, and you can also order online on their website. Finally, this dish had loads of beef, good chunks, not tiny pieces you have to fish for. You don't get that these days a lot. read more

One night at my parents place in Scarberia I was craving Pad Thai. So I looked up local thai restaurants and found this place. It's tucked away in a small plaza, next to a shoppers drug mart and a metro on Port Union and Lawson. At first I was hesitant because, they didn't ask how hot I wanted the food (usually a red light for pad thai), and when I goto to the place and it was empty. However, I just chalked that one up to it being 9pm on a Monday night and went ahead and grabbed my food (I wouldn't have bailed on the order at that point anyway, Douche-Move!). I have to say I was definitely impressed, I have had good Thai and horrible ketchup noodle crap before, and this was definitely good Thai food. The spring rolls were good, the vegetarian pad thai was good, they asked if I wanted it egg free, so I guess I could have gotten it more vegetarian if I really wanted it. LOVED this hidden gem. The dining area is small but cosy. Service is super speedy ( food was ready in 15 mins). The prices are reasonable and worth every penny. Ordered the Chicken Pad Thai, which was creamy, peanutty and absolutely delicious, Also had the Beef with eggplant, which was out of this world! A go to last minute dinner spot for our family. Food is generally fresh and ready very quickly.

I ordered the Rad Nar with shrimp and added on an appetizer of spring rolls. The Rad Nar was kind of a gelatinous mess because the noodles had really soaked up the sauce. It also tasted somewhat bitter, which I figured might have been the broccoli. The spring rolls are very big but not very tasty and they were extremely, extremely greasy. I drained the spring rolls on paper towels but the amount of oil was excessive. The weird thing is they give you one small plastic container of the spring roll sauce, not really enough because the appetizer consists of 3 large spring rolls. One of the spring rolls was burned on the bottom, they put it in the container with the burnt side down. Needless to say, I was not impressed. read more

Which is ok if you like spicy. But I told the order taker that I didn't want anything spicy. So I couldn't eat that too. You'd think he would have warned me considering I specified it upfront and could've ordered mango salad instead. The only thing I ate was the spring roll. It was good. I wish I could say better about this place considering the good ratings and reviews. But I was extremely disappointed. I will not return. So we'd passed this place a bunch of times and I know that there are a lot of Thai places around, but not so many who also do Malaysian food, so I thought this might be worth trying. It's a tiny place, more set up for take out, but with one table for 4 and another 3 or 4 tables that can seat two. It's nothing fancy, but as soon as we placed our order, we could hear them chopping in the kitchen and smell them cooking our food (the walls don't all go up to the ceiling so you can smell all of the tantalizing scents of our fantastic food cooking). At that point I knew we had a gem on our hands. Everything was fresh and wonderfully tasty! We ordered the Appetizer Combo plate (for 2, $14.95). It was GREAT! It comes with 2 full-sized skewers of Shrimp Satay, Mango Salad, Spring Rolls, Salad Roll, Lightly Breaded Calamari, Fresh Rolls and Samosas it also comes with a dipping sauce for the rolls and a peanut sauce for the satay. I loved everything. I'd say my least favourite were the samosas (good, but nothing exciting) but everything else was super fresh and tasty! That alone would have been enough to make a completely satisfying dinner for two. However, we'd also ordered the Chili Chicken which came sauteed with fresh red and green peppers and onions (boyfriend commented and was impressed with how fresh the peppers were). This was really flavourful, but be careful - we eat a lot of spicy foods and have a pretty high tolerance but this definitely has kick - but flavourful! They also sell cute glass bottles of Coca-Cola and Sprite (only $1.50 if memory serves) - remember you can justify it with "Sweet cuts the heat"! I want to eat some now - it was SO fresh and flavourful! I'm already trying to narrow down what I'm going to order next time we go! read more

My wife and I love Thai Square. We order take out from here at least 3 times a month. I love their Vegetable Pad Thai, Vegetable Spicy Noodles, Mei Goreng and Basil Fried Rice. They also have very good Spring Rolls. They give you a lot of food for the money. Unlike other small take out places, this place is very clean, I have never seen it look dirty. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because the people that take your order can be a little rude some times, especially the older guy that is usually at the counter.
