I tried the lemongrass chicken and the pad Thai lunch special. The lunch special was good value and you can add an appetizer add on and a drink if you wish. My friend and I booked reservations, and we're glad we did because it was a very busy Saturday evening. We ordered their fresh summer rolls with shrimp, their holy basil, ans their khao soi. Their food was really good. What really surprised me was their presentation of the khao soi. At first, I thought it was a prank and they gave me one of their displays like you would see in Japanese restaurants, but it was not. The fried noodle garnish was actually suspended with the chopsticks looking like it's lifting the noodles up. It was quite a presentation as I was baffled at it for almost 5 minutes. The curry sauce came in a gravy boat. There was live music in the background, and I assume it was live music night. I would say that I wish the servers would check in more to see how the food was tasting because not once did any server come and ask how everything was. Craving for Thai food? This is the perfect solution! A few days back I went to this place situated in Kingston Rd and I have to say the food was delicious! I tried their Tom Yum soup - such a classic, you've got to try this; along with their lemongrass chicken wings which was very flavourful and had the right amount of sauce. The Jatujak fried rice was also perfect. The only complaint I had is with their masaman curry which I felt was lacking in flavours. What a pleasant visit! All of this was $70 with cash discount (not including tip). Kept our group of 4 filled with good food with extra to bring home for lunch the next day. Hard to eat here if you have a peanut allergy as everything we had incorporated nuts in everything but boy was it scrumptious! I wish it was a little spicier than we got but I'm sure that can be adjusted! The place is spacious but unfortunately parking is going to be a struggle as there's a lot of construction and there's no designated parking spaces for this restaurant. Walking in, both me and partner were greeted with a Sawadee Ka! by very cheerful and friendly waitresses. We were told we can sit anywhere after confirming it was the 2 of us. Ambiance was very great, lots of families and couples, it seems this place had either renovated to add more dining space in the back or something but anyways moving onto the food. We ordered the Thai milk tea (I was craving one so badly), Thai curry puffs and the Pad See Yew. Thai Milk Tea 4.5./5 - Great tea flavour - Came out unmixed with the milk on top - Perfectly iced - Lost half a star because it was just way too overwhelmingly sweet for me but maybe because I didn't wait for the ice to melt to water it down some more, I've seen video of people making with a crazy amount of ice and it appears that a strong tea concentrate is poured in on top of the ice along with the milk afterwards. Thai curry puffs 5/5 - Very flaky outer shell - Filling was perfect amount, soft curried potato with the right amount of curry seasoning - Dipping sauce was sweet and sticky, I believe it is fish sauce based with tamarind? I tasted both fish sauce and tamarind lol Pad see yew 5/5 - Thick flat noodles cooked al dente :) - Very generous serving that was more than enough for 2, I'm glad we only ordered one noodle dish. The picture doesn't do it justice on how much there was in that bowl - Sauce was so good and perfectly coated the noodle, chicken and the Chinese broccoli - Never ever ordering from Thai Express again Overall. Jatujak is a legit Thai restaurant, everything was made to order, staff were amazing and heck why you would go get Thai Express (which honestly cost more) than here? Best thai in these parts! The restaurant was filling up even with a snowstorm happening. We were left sooo full with leftovers. Mango salad was refreshing and tart, which was good to pair with the larb kai (a little spicy and savory). Closer to 4.5 because the pad thai was too sweet after a while but the staff were so nice and the portions really are humongous (for the pad thai at least). The Khao soi is great if you can't decide between curry or a soup, you get both! Only thing is parking was confusing, not sure if it was just because of the snow covering more spots? This review is based on the veg pad Ke mao only. Came here for the first time a few weeks ago with high expectations due their advertisements of being the best Thai restaurant. I love Thai food and have eaten it frequently at almost all other Thai places in the gta. Pros: large variety of veggies!! Never got so many different veggies in one noodle dish. Spice level was good for spicy lover. Cons: overall pretty flavourless. Unless you ate a veggie, it just tasted like plain noodles with some spiciness. There was 1 veg that looked like mini grapes which was extremely bitter. I had to spit this out wish there was more fish sauce for flavour. Overall this was my least favourite pad Ke mao that I've tried in the GTA. It beats a food court but also costs the same as tastier places. read more

This Jatujak location's green curry, red curry, and Khao soi yellow curry were pretty amazing. The Khao soi curry goes well with the beef (beef brisket for this curry, but just regular sliced beef for the other curries). Toronto has some good Thai spots, and I think this Jatujak should rank up there too. The ladies working here taking our orders are sweet and remember us. They like to chat with us while we wait, giving this place a more homey feel. The only item that I wouldn't get again might be the mango salad. The mango itself is julienned well, but the sauce that goes with it is cloyingly sweet and the overall salad isn't really worth $10, in my opinion. The quality of the food can also be inconsistent. Not sure if it's the time of day (when they first start taking dinner orders) or day of week (main chef is off), but if you manage to order when things are going well, you'll like the food! read more

3.5 decent Thai place. Lots of tables and you can park on the street or by bulk Barn and walk over. Nothing that makes them stand out but if you're craving Thai and in the area, grab it here. The cold roll was pretty good, they pack in more lettuce than noodles so you get more fresh veggies than just the carbs. I got the mango crispy chicken $16 which wasn't crispy given that it's deep fried before the sauce is put in. Still great flavour and lots of veggies in the stir fry. My husband got the pad kee maw I think? It was spicy and a great portion. I would want to come back and try the pad see ew as that's my normal go to. Oh, my, tastebuds! Wow, went for lunch today, had Thai food on my mind, so just picked a place with high ratings; boy am I ever satisfied. The Mango salad w/spring roll was SO fresh, sweet, tangy & delicious. The spring roll made that "crunch" I love. Green Curry Chicken? Give me another serving! I want to fall asleep eating this! It has bamboo in it; it was like eating a nice soft parsnip (not much flavour, but so yummy) I can't describe it. The chicken in both dishes was so tender, so fresh & served with just the right amount. Pad Thai had this sort of sweet after taste (that was my dessert). No frills type of Thai food. It's authentic and unpretentious. Loved the beef Pad Kee Mow and Tom Yum soup, my husband enjoyed his Pad Thai, mango sticky rice was tasty too (although we found a piece of Saran wrap in it). However, curry puffs were essentially filling-less. Spring rolls are probably one of the worst I've had, no vermicelli like other Thai spring rolls. Quite empty inside with few veggies. This place always has a lot of take out orders so make sure you place your order in advance because there will be a wait. read more

I've always wanted to check out this Thai restaurant It's a 8-10 tables restaurant, very small. If you are in one of the middle tables, you won't have enough space for the food. Not too comfortable in terms of seatings. We ordered the Lemon grass chicken, the sauce is a wet sauce and a very generous amount of lemon grass. I find the meat itself lacks flavours. Moving on to the Khao Sao with beef, the presentation was beautifully done. The egg noodle was angled in the bowl, you will have to dip it into the yellow curry before you start eating. I find the yellow curry way to sweet to my liking and the beef lacks flavour. And last but not least, the Shrimp in the Pad Kee Mao was a good size and the flavour of the noodle was good. Decided to give them another shot as they are a neighbourhood spot and I am honestly glad I did! Although I did a pick-up order, the ambiance is actually really nice. I would walk over here with friends visiting for sure if we were in the mood. You honestly could forget you're at Kingston and midland inside here. Last time I got takeout, they replaced the chunks of fresh chicken breast with pieces of chewy hard deep-fried breaded chicken. Let me start out by saying I LOVE Texas and have never considered moving to Canada. However, this Thai restaurant might just have changed my mind because It was THAT GOOOD. I am a Thai food connoisseur and I can undoubtedly say this is one of the best I've ever had. Every single item we ordered was flavorful and it was evident that they used really fresh ingredients. Below is everything I ordered: Tom Kha soup- when the soup initially came out I was a bit skeptical because it was completely white in color and looked very flavorless. DON'T let that fool you though because this soup was EXCEPTIONAL and packed with so much flavor. Took me less than 6 minutes to finish the entire bowl. Mango Salad- this was honestly one of the best dishes I've ever had. The salad had so much flavor and the mango tasted very fresh. Ended up getting another order of this togo to eat later because it was THAT good. It was laid out on a big crispy chip(?) I'm not sure exactly what it was but it went perfectly with the salad and added another great texture to the dish. Shrimp cold roll with peanut sauce - so flavorful and so fresh! This is a basic appetizer found at every Thai place but you could taste how fresh theirs really was. It came with two difference sauces, one was the peanut sauce and I'm not sure what the other one was but they were both EXCEPTIONAL, especially when mixed together. Pad Thai Beef - Amazing Pad Thai!!!!! I asked for Thai spicy and it definitely had a nice kick to it. It was saucy and fresh and had the perfect blend of sweetness and spiciness. Green Curry - My brother ordered the green curry and really enjoyed that as well. He said it was very flavorful and had lots of different spices that you could really taste in the curry. I love Thai food and I love lunch specials!? So my review of Jatujak might be a little bias. Jatujak is really simple and down to earth take out place. Don't even come with a group of more than 2 people if you expect to eat in as there are only 2 tables for 2 and 4 bar stools... Capacity for 8. (they working to get a restaurant license to put in more seating capacity and for time being, it is really a take out place) Lunch special starts at $5.95 and can be upgraded to a combo for $2 that's includes spring roll, mango salad and pop. My friendly waiter recommended Pad Kee Mao ($6.95) Freshly off the wok, the dish is so well seasoned and flavored by fresh basil and peppercorn and made extra spicy by using fresh Thai chili. I can eat this everyday!! The taro filled spring roll and mango salad both delicious. For dessert, my waiter recommended Water Chestnut in Coconut milk - Tab Tim Krob ($3.95). So colorful and the chestnut has a chewy tapioca outer layer and crunchy inside. I will definitely be back again to Jatujak for some authentic Thai cooking and hospitality.. A really good option for Thai food in Scarborough. I got the vegetarian khoi soi (?) which is a classic northern Thai noodle soup. The rice noodles are soaked in a yellow curry soup base and it's delicious. This dish is hard to come by in a lot of Thai restaurants, so finding it on their menu was a nice surprise. The dish was delicious. My favourite part was the mix of wet noddles in the soup and deep fried noodles on top. The tofu was semi firm and deep Fried as well, cooked perfectly. I really enjoyed my meal and will be back -especially on a colder day. Their mango rice was also well done and a nice way to end the meal. A+ for fast Thai food. read more

Great food esp for takeout. Their food generally is saucy, so even if you takeout and it sits in a container for 15 minutes, it's still good! We're fortunate we live relatively close and so the foot sitting in takeout containers isn't a huge deal, but even leftovers are top notch! Pad Thai is must have along with their mango sticky rice dessert and Thai iced tea! Everything is always fresh and definitely once of the best Thai restaurants around. Highly recommend if you've never had, and you won't be disappointed. I would recommend calling to order if you're doing pickup to avoid the pesky food delivery service fees (both for yourself and the business). It is however not recommended for large parties as their are not a lot of larger tables. Now onto the food. The the pad thai chicken was good. It had a different flavour then most thai restaurant. But it worked. The curry was solid. Exactly what you expect. It may not wow you completely. However it will provide what you expect to find in an average to slightly above average thai restaurant. Given ive been to thailand to try authentic dishes and i think was not bad. Now the lemongrass chicken wings the flavour was good. However the chicken were very overcooked and very dry inside. Also the crispy mango chicken had the same problem. The chicken was overcooked and dry on the inside. So meat was rough. About the food overall i find it was a decent restaurant that provided thai food as a decent level. Service wise however, Two problems i had was the way they charged. On the final bill without heads up they would charge +1 or +2 dollars for whatever meat was with pad thai or curry separate. I find that dissengenious as by doing that they tried to make their menu seem cheaper then it is. And also they mandatory charged 15% tips on a party of 5. Which is not typical for any restaurant. Its not about percentage but moreso on how they approached it. Overall i find they need to be more upfront and clear about their charging policies to customers in order to not leave a bad taste of them adding a lot of extra cost without informing them. And also they need to work on their other appetizer dish as well and mango chicken. I would go back under certain circumstances. read more

I had a terrible experience with Jatujak a couple of weeks back. I had attempted to put in an order through their website and wasn't able to see an estimate of how long the order would take until after I had submitted the order. When I saw that it was going to take 45 minutes, I called in to ask to cancel because I had a hungry/tired toddler in the car and couldn't wait that long. The lady on the phone asked if they can have the food ready in 20 minutes, can I keep the order and still come in? I said yes. I arrived 20 minutes later, and they hadn't even started preparing my order yet. They asked if I wanted to cancel now. When I asked how much longer, they said 15 minutes, the kitchen will start on it right away. So I decided to wait. I waited at the restaurant for 40 more minutes before my order was ready, and during that time, I saw multiple customers receive their orders first. It didn't seem like they had prioritized my order at all after stringing me along with false time estimations, and the kitchen DEFINITELY did not start on my order after they informed me of such. Generally speaking, I don't mind a lack of service at certain restaurants that I patronize, but the fact that they blatantly lied to me twice to keep my order in place was offensive to me. I submitted a complaint and it wasn't followed up on or acknowledged in any way. I will not be ordering from here again. read more

A very small restaurant with about 10 seats but I like the ambiance. It's cozy and cute. The staff are polite and attentive. We ordered pad thai (my favourite) and pad kee mao lunch specials. I actually enjoyed the flavor of the pad kee mao better than the pad thai. Both noodles were al dente. The pad thai noodles were chewy (awesome). The amount of chicken they loaded in the pad kee mao was insane! It was probably more than 50% chicken compared to all other ingredients combined! Maybe they noticed how skinny I was. The pad kee mao is stated to be "two hot peppers" hot which is the hottest on their menu but it wasn't spicy IMO. It has some heat but it wasn't native Thai hot. It was nice. They probably noticed I wasn't Thai and gave me the weak stuff lol. I would come back here if I were in the area for sure. read more

I have only been to this restaurant at their Victoria Street location (sketchy area btw) but never been to this one so I decided to check it out while being nearby. Wow, I didn't realised the place was small with only twenty seats available (two seats being taken by the fan) when I got there compared to their Victoria brand. There are 3 sofas chairs on the side wall for people to wait for their takeout. There is no AC but that day, since it just rained, it didn't feel hot and stuffy. Looking at the menu, I don't remember being that small with limited choices. I also didn't noticed they charge now $2 for Chicken or beef and $3 shrimps. I remember it only used to be $1 more for chicken, beef or pork. I guess with inflation, cost is going up. I decided to get my favourite Pad Kee Mao, try the Street Pad Thai and the monthly special fish curry. I thought I would like the Pad Kee Mao more but it turns out I prefer the Street Pad Thai dish. I really had wanted to like the Pad kee Mao because I thought they make the dish the same way as Kub Khao ( being they are owned by the same owners) However, the noodles are thinner as they don't use the thicker noodles that I prefer. don't get me wrong, it was still good but I just enjoy the pad Thai more I couldn't stop devouring the pad Thai. The fish curry turned out to be smaller since it was a monthly special. I expected it to be pieces of fishes but it was more of a fish curry paste. It was good but didn't expect it to be small. I will stick to the normal curries on their menu in the future. Service was quick.food comes out super fast. A lot of tables were ordering spring rolls, which also didn't take long to come out . This restaurant has been in existence for a while and the owners have decided to open Kub Khao last year, which is great since it is closer to where I am. But looking at the reviews I guess they are doing pretty well at their current location although the place is quite small. Service: Didn't have much interaction since I came on an awkward in-between lunch and dinner time (around 430pm) on a Thursday for a quick lunch before work, so I guess it was reasonable for the place to be completely empty, and food came quite fast.
