By far one of the top Thai places in Toronto. Top quality ingredients (like fresh noodles) and everything is prepare with great care. It's not overly presented just good food. It's a very small place but super busy with takeout and delivery. You must visit an isaan derr location. You won't be disappointed. What we had: Isaan Platter (spring rolls, chicken satay, golden bags, calamari, shrimp chips, papaya salad and sticky rice) Soft Shell Crab fresh noodles pad thai Lamb Shank Massaman Curry 9 Duck Red Curry Pad Si Ew (Chicken) Three flavours fish Mango Sticky Rice Cantaloupe Tapioca

Pineapple Fried Rice

Absolutely incredible experience! From the moment we walked in, you could tell this place was something special. The owner went above and beyond--taking the time to walk us through the menu, explain different dishes, and offer thoughtful recommendations based on what we liked. It made the whole experience feel personal and elevated. And I have to give a huge shoutout to our server, Earth--truly exceptional. Attentive, friendly, and so knowledgeable, they made sure everything was perfect without ever being overbearing. The food was outstanding across the board--fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. You can really taste the care and authenticity in every dish. This wasn't just dinner, it was an experience. Can't wait to come back

Isaan Der has multiple locations around the GTA, but the Junction location is my favourite spot for Thai cuisine in the neighbourhood. The atmosphere here is cozy with their warm color scheme and lighting, and the staff here is super friendly. Like all restaurants, there may be an occasional off day, but 9/10 times the food here does the job in satisfying my Thai cravings with well prepared, and beautifully presented dishes. They have an extensive menu of appetizers, soups, noodles, curries, and seafood dishes offering something just about every palate. Because several items on the menu has caught my attention, I've been making an effort to try something new with each visit, and have not yet been disappointed. The restaurant can get pretty busy during weekend dinner hours, but most of the time you can walk in without a reservation. The restaurant is also not wheelchair accessible.

Family owned and operated, this restaurant serves amazing Thai cuisine! Clean and casual atmosphere with super friendly family members that make you feel part of their own family. The appetizers and main courses we ordered were expertly and freshly prepared. We started with Spring Rolls which were crispy outside and filled with fresh lettuce, cucumber, carrots, and cilantro - it felt as if they picked it out of the garden. The house made peanut sauce is addictive - so much so that we took some home. The tender, juicy Chicken Satay with peanut sauce was just as wonderful. Our mains of house made Isaan Der and Pad Se Ew noodles were the best we've ever had! All the sauces on the noodle dishes perfectly complimented the noodles. My husband opted for a soup main (Tom Yum) which was just as delicious. The medium spice levels we requested on our meals were perfect - just the right amount of heat with a little kick. It doesn't matter what you order here - it'll all be fresh, expertly prepared and addictive enough you'll want to come back for more. Highly recommend a visit asap!

Came here for dinner with colleague and had a taste for my favorite Thai cuisine. This place did not disappoint from the ambience, staff wear traditional Thai clothes, accommodating and friendly. The food was delicious. Started off with the spring rolls shrimp Pai se we, cashew chicken and chicken red curry with generous portions. The Thai iced tea was good not too sweet! I am a fan!

Khao Soi (Beef)

Dined in on a Monday night and it was relatively quiet. Service was fast, as we were seated immediately and the food arrived shortly after ordering. We had the Beef Khao Soi (one of our favourites for comparing between Thai restaurants) and the Lamb Shank Massaman Curry. Both dishes were packed with flavours and came at decent-sized portions. The Khao Soi noodles were more al dente, but became softer (more to my liking) as it sat in the curry broth. The beef chunks were extremely tender and had just the right amount of fat. The lamb shank was fall-off-the-bone and paired with a sweet and sour curry (courtesy of the tamarind) that gave off a fragrant peanut flavour. This was served with a side of rice. I also had a Thai Iced Tea, which was brewed in different spices (delicious) reminiscent of Fall. All in all, one of the best Thai meals I've had in the city!

Chicken Fried Rice

The food was good. My favourite was the basil fried rice and Khao Soa. Khao Soa could have been better. The sauce was just too thin for my liking. We got the green curry and Massaman curry, and both the curries were good. The only complaint I have is that they kept the main door open, which made the restaurant very humid and hot. Overall not a bad experience

Isaan Der is actually opened Mondays! I had to bring my friend here because I found their fish curry was so so good! I got their fish panang curry again (thai spicy) and found it had a small kick but not very spicy at all. It was so so flavourful and came out piping hot. There was a good amount of tender fish as well. Came with a good amount of rice as well. My friend got their beef khao soi and she enjoyed it. I had a small tasting of it and it tasted like beef jerky. Service was great.

Thai iced tea and Thai iced coffee

The interior of the restaurant was nicely designed and very aesthetically pleasing. We came on a Wednesday afternoon for lunch. There was only 1 other table but a lot of take out orders coming in so our order did take a bit of time to come out. My friend and I got the Thai iced tea and Thai iced coffee. It was very flavourful but one thing I would've liked would've been being able to adjust the sugar and sweetness level. As I am someone that doesn't enjoy the drink when it's too sweet. We decided to try an appetizer we haven't before and it was the thong pong grob. It was very unique and nothing like I have tried before, it tasted fresh with the veggies and delicious with the minced chicken. The soft shell crab fresh pad that was my favourite, it was a unique twist to my usual order of pad Thai. The flavours were all there and the soft shell crab was fried to perfection. Flavourful and crunchy. Panang curry is my favourite and they did such a great job with this dish. It was so tasty I could drink the curry broth itself straight. This is now one of my favourite Thai places and I will definitely be back!

Incredibly authentic Thai food- felt like I was back in Thailand with the fresh ingredients and perfectly complex flavour profiles. The basa fish was cooked perfectly and the portion was HUGE! We also had the spring rolls, grilled ribs, papaya salad, pad see ew (we ordered the fresh chili peppers on the side so we could control how spicy it was) and don't forget to order the mango sticky rice which was delectable!! Can't wait to come back.

I had a great experience from the Richmond hill location and got a craving for more great Thai food so decided to visit the Dundas location for lunch. I recommended going there for lunch as this is definitely a dinner restaurant. Lunch time was peaceful and quiet. Dishes and services were just as good as other stores. The chef made us a special dish that was out of the menu and I was amazed by the balance taste, layer of flavours and freshness of each ingredients.

It was the perfect mix of sweet, sour, floral and bitter. I loved it! My husband had the Unit 75 which he really enjoyed. The grapfruit bitters rounded out the sweetness of the Chambord and the sourness of the lemon. We decided to order another cocktail each just as our food arrived. I had the I Have a Lychee Secret. It was a little on the sweet side, but was very yummy. I loved the black pepper on top but didn't really taste much cilantro. My husband had La Passionista which was great. It was so well-balanced and flavourful. The dumplings were AMAZING! The butterly pea infused tapioca gave the perfect bouncy, chewy texture to the outside and the mushroom and radish centres were so tasty. Our waitress explained that they should be eaten in a lettuce cup with cilantro, mint and peanuts. YUM! Such a flavour bomb. The only thing I would have changed would be to add some sort of a spicy, salty, sour dipping sauce like a nuoc cham. The green papaya fritters were also just fantastic. They were crispy, crunchy and the dipping sauce was a little spicy and sweet. All in all, we really enjoyed our meal and would 100% return. I have already reccomended them to others.
