For years I've heard about planta but never made my way over there. Some ppl told me it was overhyped but my cousin had recently tried it with her workplace and said she really wanted to go back and told me I had to try it. So we made a lunch reservation on a Thursday and it was empty. Maybe only 5 tables full in the whole restaurant. The restaurant is quite dark but very spacious and large in size. Decorated with an Asian aesthetic. So at this point all I know is that Planta is vegan. I didn't know what cuisine we were about to eat but turns out it is Asian slash Asian fusion? And it was actually delicious??? I was very pleasantly surprised. I would definitely go back again. I highly recommend the truffle fried rice and bang bang broccoli.

Absolutely incredible experience and will have to dine in next time !! I've been wanting to visit Planta for a long time now and finally had an opportunity when visiting Toronto ! I placed an online order for their sushi box and couldn't wait to devour it. I ordered torched & pressed, spicy tuna, firecracker and red dragon ! I didn't realize it at the time but all the rolls I selected were spicy besides torched and pressed. I guess I could've switched up the variety but they all sounded so mouthwatering that I didnt really think twice about it. I loved firecracker the most but they were all so delicious. Amazing flavors, the right amount of heat and of course, vegan I'll be back again soon !!

I'm not vegetarian, but I came to PLANTA on a Thursday for happy hour because my sister (who is vegetarian) raved about the New York location. She said it was one of the few places where she could order something other than just avocado rolls -- and now I totally get why she loved it. The restaurant itself is massive and has a more sultry vibe. The happy hour menu had a lot of tempting stuff, but the Unagi eggplant nigiri was the surprise star for me -- honestly tasted so close to the real thing. The spicy "crab" hand roll was also delicious, and I'm still thinking about the cauliflower wings. Perfectly crispy with great flavor. Service was attentive and friendly without hovering too much, which I appreciated. All in all, super impressed -- this place made me forget I was eating vegan food. I'd definitely come back, and I get why my sister's obsessed.

I ordered take out from Planta Queen and it was fantastic! The restaurant itself is beautiful so I plan to eat inside - one day. I ate the following: - BANG BANG BROCCOLI - sweet chili, peanut sauce (amazing, excellent texture and delicious sauce) - UNAGI EGGPLANT - miso truffle (brilliant - this was genius) - VOLCANO ROLL - heart of palm crab, avocado, cucumber, sesame, crispy sweet potato, gochujang mayo (excellent ) - UDON NOODLES truffle mushroom cream (decadent) The food here is phenomenal and for takeout it's packed with care. I stayed in a hotel though and they did not inside utensils which was a bummer but the food was too good to drop this down a notch. Can't wait to try more from the menu!

had an incredible dinner at Planta last night. Lovely bartender. Nice lighting. The unagi eggplant nigiri melted in my mouth, the beet root tartare was excellent and the spicy tuna roll was soo much the better version of this dish. Seriously I begrudgingly saved some to take back to my husband, he was super skeptical and then absolutely impressed. Said it was spot on and just as satisfying as from any other quality sushi spot. He also enjoyed the crispy mushroom hand rolls. The matcha cheese cake was delicious. Would absolutely recommend and return. Thank you

Came for a dinner with friends and we happened to catch happy hour which is 3-6pm. We ordered almost everything on the happy hour menu. My favourites were the cauliflower (lightly breaded), mushroom "chicken" (tasted like fried chicken skin over mushrooms), eggplant Nigiri (super delicious, tasted like torched fatty white fish). The handrolls, brownie, and Japanese sweet potatos were also good and I would order them again. I wasn't a fan of the watermelon nigiri or the summer rolls. The latter would greatly benefit from the tofu being cooked or flavoured, it tasted quite bland. The spicy tuna Maki roll was also tasting heavily of sweet coconut which was a bit jarring. Service was great and very attentive. The interior is very aesthetically pleasing and would be great for a corporate event, date, or time with friends. The price is fairly high. I would say that for the happy hour, prices are good and I would come back during those hours but I do not think I would come back outside of their specials. My friends and I had a great time.

LOVED the Unagi Eggplant Nigiri. Would solely come back just for that dish. The fact that it's all vegan is crazy! The flavors were amazing. MUST ORDER: -bang bang broccoli 8/10 -unagi eggplant nigiri 12/10 -Dan Dan noodles 9/10 -matcha cheesecake 8.5/10 The vibe is a little classy. I went on Monday night and it wasn't packed at all. They also have great green juices! Top eats in Toronto by far!

I went to PLANTA for lunch with a girlfriend on a Monday while staying in the city. This is a very cool spot with beautiful decor - the ambiance was amazing. It feels very upscale without being stuffy or uncomfortable. Service was very good, everyone was accommodating and friendly. I was able to try a lot of the food, so here is everything I tried and my thoughts: -Bang Bang Broccoli: 10/10 - no notes. This was a hit and sooooo yummy. The broccoli was so crispy and didn't get soggy, even the pieces at the bottom with sauce -Salted Maple Macchiato - 4/10 - one of the worst coffees I have had in Toronto. It just lacked flavor, I couldn't taste the maple or sea salt. Their other drinks looked great, I wish I got a cocktail/mocktail instead -Bao Slider: 5.5/10 - it was just okay, I didn't love the flavors and thought it had a really fishy taste -Crab Rangoon Dip: 7/10 - it was a pretty good and flavorful dip, but nothing special. The wonton chips were what made the dish! -Udon Noodles: 8.5/10 - these were fantastic! Really amazing truffle flavor and a generous amount of mushrooms. Definitely on the soup-y side, so I would expect less of a "pasta" dish and more ramen-y Overall, this is a really nice place for vegetarians and vegans to enjoy a large variety of unique and cool foods. While I don't think every dish was a hit, I would go back and try something new, likely the sushi.

I visited Planta Queen for a social gathering to take advantage of their Maki Mondays ($9 maki rolls, or $29 for unlimited maki rolls), and Happy Hour (Mon-Thurs 4 pm - 6 pm, & 8:30 pm - close) specials. The Queen location offers an asian fusion plant-based menu, with a wide selection of sushi rolls, small plates, salads, and bowls, in addition to rice and noodle dishes. The dishes we tried were either a hit or miss here, so knowing the right dishes to order will make a difference to your dining experience. I thought the maki rolls here were extremely mediorce, while I enjoyed the "Firecracker Wings" (fried cauliflower) and the "Pad Thai Slaw". This location has chic, modern decor, with a bit of an upscale feel. The staff here were friendly and accommodating. I had a fly land on one the hand rolls I ordered, and had asked our server to take it away when she came to clear some empty plates. She also did not charge me for the hand roll when we asked for the bill which was very much appreciated, and reflected great customer service.

My search-to-comment ratio in Yelp is maybe 20:1.. and I'm probably 50/50 on praise/complain. I gotta say, if you come here ask for Simon. He's on the ball and just what you'd expect for a good waiter in a place with this ambiance.

Amazing as usual! Love love this place and was so happy to be back -- Bang Bang Broccoli - 10/10 Volcano Roll - 10/10 Spicy Tuna Roll - 10/10 Dragon Roll - 10/10 Mushroom pasta - 9/10 Potstickers 10/10 Carrot Cake (April Special) - 20/10 This place never fails me, everything is soooo good. I have the mushroom pasta 9/10 only because I forgot to ask for chili oil or pepper flakes to give it spice. The service is always A+ and the vibes are always amazing. Have nothing bad to say!!

Finally! Made it to Planta! I am impressed - everything from the ambience, to the food and the service. The decor was very beautiful. Host and servers were very kind and made sure that we were well taken care of. I had the Dan Dan Noodles - they were delicious! Never had anything like it to be honest, and it was full of flavors. Bathrooms (man/woman) were very clean.

As an Asian fusion restaurant, I always come curious to see what new ideas the chef has come up with. The last two Summerlicious menus disappointed me a little--they felt a bit uninspired, with dishes like the vegetable curry and croquette. This year, however, the creativity is back, and I'd happily recommend Lee's Summerlicious menu again. Fried Wild Cod The crispy cod is served in an edible crispy rice basket, making it feel like sharing bread at the start of the meal. The fish is fried perfectly with a crisp exterior and moist, flaky interior. Paired with Thai sweet chili sauce, it's light, flavorful, and great for sharing. Gazpacho Picante A refreshing take on gazpacho. The avocado gives it a smoother texture, while the hint of spice adds another layer without overpowering the chilled tomato soup. Refreshing and a great appetizer. BBQ Jerk Pork Ribs Three generous ribs--almost a main course on their own. The meat is tender while still retaining a bit of bite, similar to the texture of slow-cooked jerk chicken. The jerk seasoning is excellent, coating every bite with rich, aromatic spices. Pan Roasted Salmon The salmon is beautifully cooked with a nicely caramelized exterior while remaining juicy inside. Each accompaniment brings something different: the olive tapenade is deeply savory, the parsnip purée is smooth and slightly sweet, the lima bean adds a creamy, nutty richness, and the lemon-tomato-pepper vinaigrette brightens everything with acidity and a gentle kick. Lima Bean Succotash Probably the prettiest dish on the menu--and also the most unusual. The lima beans and peas are cooked until tender without becoming mushy. The flavors are layered, but there's a subtle bitterness throughout. After asking the chef, we learned it's the natural flavor of lima beans and was intentionally preserved as part of the dish. Fried Organic Chicken The fried chicken is juicy and tender, reminding me of Japanese karaage. It comes with two fun sauces: one is rich and spicy with a hint of coconut, while the other is a sweet pineapple-lime mayo that pairs surprisingly well with the chicken. The pandan rice, however, was fairly ordinary. The desserts are still classic Lee--beautifully plated, but the flavors are more restrained. We tried the Rhubarb Almond Frangipane Tart, Lemon Mousse Panna Cotta (our favorite), and Strawberry Raspberry Monkey Bread. This year's Summerlicious reminded me why I fell in love with Lee in the first place.

I also highly recommend the wine paring they suggest having with the salad :) Everything else on the menu was done really well. The cheeseburger spring roll was quite unique, Indo think there could've been more texturally inside the actual spring roll, it was all mush in there. Very nice ambiance, service were very attentive, I had a great time and will be back to try more items :)

The meal was filling and balanced, and I left feeling it was money well spent. I strongly recommend getting the fixed menu. After a while everything started to taste very similar to the dish brought out just before. Crispy garlic and chili oil seemed to be the lingering taste in each dish. The only item that didnt contain these were the tacos which werent anything special. The tofu dish wasthe most enjoyable for me but again was topped with a lot of that chili oil that took over after a while. Truffe fried rice had a beautiful aroma but the truffe flavor wasnt as strong. Just missed the mark with me on this one but truly had high hopes for it. Great ambiance. Friendly service. Two levels. With prices of an upscale dining restaurant, the service didn't feel like it matched up; it was fairly mediocre. Food was a bit of a hit or miss for us too.. Shrimp toast: fun, good texture, could taste the oiliness stronger than I expected. Paired well with the emulsion. Fun guo: super tasty, quite greasy though. I typically don't order fun guo but the texture was a delight to eat. Pork & crab siu mai: this felt like it lacked identity, not really sure I saw the vision. It just felt like curry on a siu mai lol Iberico cha siu: beautiful cut, perfectly tender, good savouriness, no complaints. R&D fried rice: my biggest letdown. Maybe my expectations were set to high. For a house special, I would expect a solid crowd-pleaser. Having each bite feeling mostly like 'crunch' is not what I think of as fried rice nor a favourite for most people. My ideal fried rice focuses on the grains of rice, with substantial bite and flavour in each spoonful. The flavour was most definitely there, don't get me wrong but it was extremely hard to eat more than a bowl. The redeeming qualities were in the flavour and cute little mushroom garden concept. If they had maybe 2x the amount of rice for the ratio of toppings and crunch, I would say this is a delicious and near perfect fried rice. Not bad, but a hefty price tag for a meal that I had really high hopes for.

I've already paid $20-30, don't charge me $5 for 2 tbsp of gravy. I wouldn't go back, but if you want to have a slightly elevated Caribbean experience and just vibe, it's not a bad option.

You walk up a goldcolored hallway and 2 flights of stairs before reaching the restaurant. The host stand is farther inside.....which will make sense once you are physically in the space. The workers were very friendly and funny. I had a great time bantering with them. My friend from 8th grade and I reunited for the first time in 21 years over dinner. This was one of her picks, and I am deeply grateful she chose it. Appetizers: Rock Shrimp, Fatty Tuna Nigiri, Crispy Rice Tuna Entrée: Jidori Chicken Drinks: Sangria, Champagne Dessert: Yuzu Citrus The rock shrimp was delicious. We loved the sauce it was tossed in. My friend is not usually a shrimp fan but she polished it off for me. The fatty tuna nigiri was great, as expected, and the crispy rice tuna was phenomenal. The Jidori chicken was delightful. We loved the sauce, and the mashed potatoes were pillowy. I did not have the sangria but my friend said it was the best she had ever had. The yuzu citrus dessert came with strawberry gelato and cookie crumbs. The gelato was not overly sweet and the yuzu was perfectly tart. They also put a little "Reunited" note on the dessert plate, which we both thought was such a sweet touch. Definitely pricey, but definitely worth it. Recommended it to my Toronto friends, I really want to go back and get that king crab rice.

The menu leans Korean fusion and nothing feels forced or overdone. I tried them during Winterlicious and it was such a good intro to what they do. Standouts for me: Braised short rib was unreal. Super tender, rich, and easily the best dish of the night K Pasta was so unique. Packed with flavour and not something you come across often Kalbi striploin burger was juicy, flavourful, and done right Cocktails were strong and easy to sip. They disappeared way too fast, which says a lot. Overall, great execution, a menu that stands out, and a space that feels sexy but still cozy. Definitely a spot I'd come back to.

They had just changed the menu when I came here but I was really excited to visit for their old menu that I heard great things about. Overall, food was good but the different mains tasted too similarly. Service was wonderful. Our waiter was super kind, took photos for us and recommended things based on our taste. He was incredibly great at checking in and making us feel valued. The ambiance of this place was my favourite thing. I love the detail put into the decor of this place! Super vintage, abstract and the gold accents were beautiful. It felt like out of a story book.
