Interesting Asian vegetarian restaurant. Besides typical vegetarian dishes such as noodles, rice and curry, they serve vegetarian sushi and rolls. The food was good and the sushi was very interesting. Service was pretty attentive.

It's a vegetarian restaurant that has great reviews that you've driven by many times and thought to yourself, "huh? Who eats vegetarian sushi" Gave this place a try, and this review is from someone who has a carnivore diet lunch almost daily. Honestly, everything tasted great. I was truly surprised by how their chef can make vegetarian food taste so good lol. In fact, the only dish I found to be soso was their hot and sour soup (also surprising because this is naturally a vegetarian soup) The service is also quite nice. Gave good recommendations. The restaurant is clean and aesthetically pleasing. If you're a meat eater, give this place a try with an open mind. If you're a vegetarian/vegan, this restaurant is a no brainer!

This place has been here for over 20 years so I figured it's gotta be good to be able to survive for so long. NOTE: if diabetic, don't go here. Very starchy, lots of sugar. This sushi place is run by mainland Chinese. Nothing wrong with that: very few Japanese sushi chefs would actually open a place like this lol. Y'all, it was only 18 degrees today, cloudy, and very windy, but the inside was stuffy and hot. When I read reviews here that said it was "cozy", I expected comfortable, not stuffy and unventilated. Also, the spout on the teapot and the INSIDE of the miso soup bowl were BROKEN and chipped! It is IMPOSSIBLE to clean jagged pieces and rid it of all the bacteria. Gross! Know what's also gross? The tables were sticky. Food was meh. Max 3*, average 2*. The most delicious thing was the circular ham looking thing, and second is specifically the salmon sashimi. Other things were meh.. The ebi sushi was kinda mushy and didn't look like a shrimp shape lol. Taste was rather bland except the salmon. Not much complexity and did not taste like their meat counterparts. And why did my sushi roll have a hole as wide as a chopstick?? Check my pics. Barely any service. We had to hunt down the server to get our order taken, and after she brought out the dishes, she never came back. We also had to hunt her down by leaving our seating area to get the bill. My biggest gripe is considering that this is a veg place, why is the sashimi and sushi "meat" cut so thin and small? And worse, at the SAME price as real sushi (with real fish) at legit Japanese restaurants? The sashimi size here was less than what I'd get on a sushi roll at like... Miki. Disappointed for sure. Not sure what everyone's raving about.

Vegetarian for the Carnivore!!! I tend to be a lover of different types of food. As a 'Foodie', I think the only requirement is that you must have a passion and love for food in general. I love meat but I'm always looking for new food adventures. Tenon Vegetarian Cuisine is right in my backyard and I've almost gone a few times. I finally went recently to a family gathering in which we had vegetarians and vegans in our group. The food at Tenon is very well thought out. They really have got a handle on the food they design. I've had mock meats and plant-based meat alternatives before and for the most part enjoy vegetarian and vegan food. I enjoyed most of the food offerings and some more than others. The service was great and we had no trouble getting a private room for our group. The plates were cleaned almost as soon as the food dropped, as we were sharing most of the dishes. I was lucky to get at least a couple of photos before the food disappeared. We really liked Tenon's take on animal and fish proteins and we will surely be back. If you're a vegetarian or vegan or even just curious, give it a shot I'm sure you will like the food too.

Tenon Vegetarian Cuisine has been around for ages. The menu consists of mainly vegan options and some vegetarian items (with eggs and dairy). My family feels the portion size to cost ratio is slightly off. Generally, the bento offers the best value with different maki and side dishes. Dumplings are perhaps not the best option for takeout. The wrappers are far too delicate and are time sensitive. Sitting in a takeout box, from experience is detrimental to the quality. Overall, Tenon is best for dine-in. However, if you are seeking takeout option, bento is not a bad choice.

Is it Sushi? No it's vegetarian. First time trying out a vegetarian restaurant that does sushi. Was craving sushi but decided to try it with a twist. Came here on a Sunday dinner time Speaking about the location, it's easy to find and hard to miss. It's right along Kennedy in the New Kennedy Square plaza. Lots of parking available. The restaurant has a fair amount of space. It's a cozy place. For the service, it was pretty quick. We got seated right away and food came fast after we ordered. To be fair, there was not a lot of people... A busy day's service may vary. Now to the most important part, the food. All I can say it wow, I can't believe a vegetarian dish can be this good. With that being said, this is not a replacement or substitution to real sushi. But this is a category of its own. So if you're vegan or vegetarian and want sushi, this is an option. Overall, I enjoyed my dinner at Tenon. I can imagine that it's not for everyone but I suggest to give it a try.

I was exploring how good vegetarian sushi could be and my partner brought me to this place. They had sushi with imitations of different fishes. I would say shrimp imitation was the closest in taste. Overall the sushi wasn't bad but not as good as real fish. Also I absolutely loved sweet and sour eel and house special duck dishes which were vegetarian as well but the taste was so good and it did resemble meat in some ways, which was not my intention to necessarily taste the meat. I found these dishes were delicious. The decor was very traditional for Asian restaurants and very nice. The server was very attentive.

This one is for my vegan friends! Order: Party Tray B - an assortment of sushi rolls. This was good for 2 people. Amazing taste. Almost unbelievable that everything was VEGAN. Covid Safety: Online menu for takeout. Call ahead of time & place your order. Hand sanitizer available in store. Overall, this was a fantastic vegan place. I will definitely be returning. The inside also looked pretty nice. After covid, I will def dine in. Cheers!

Please note that this place truly has no meat in their location! Their imitation crab meat is actually IMITATION IMITATION crab meat and is not made from fish like how regular imitation crab meat is :D [Sweet & Sour Soy Nuggets] $14.99 - this is basically sweet and sour imitation chicken. The sauce in this dish is absolutely delicious so if you usually like sweet and sour chicken, my goodness, give this an order and perhaps you'll prefer this dish over real chicken any day like me! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! [Combo A] $27.99 - this was a platter that came with 28 pieces. The breakdown of the pieces being 8 pieces of "sashimi", 6 pieces of "sushi", 8 pieces of a rainbow roll, and 6 pieces of a california roll. Within this combo, I have to say that it's probably not worth your money to order it because I personally didn't enjoy the taste of the slices of "sashimi" that they provided. The "salmon" out of all the pieces was the most disappointing so going forward, I would order more of their dishes that are more creative! Honestly though, if it's your first time here, this combo could be worth getting so that you can sample their various "raw fish" offerings [Spicy Broccoli Roll] $6.29 - this is a 6 piece roll that my boyfriend and I inhaled before I could take a picture. Suffice to say that this is definitely something worth ordering time and time again (unless of course, you don't like broccoli!) If you know or are someone who is looking for a delicious and delightful vegetarian sushi experience, get your butt into this place! Ensure you make reservations ahead of time though as they are a relatively small restaurant for the quality of food they provide. Don't hesitate to clarify what things are made out of if you're uncertain because their service is wonderful! The employees seem to be extremely dedicated to providing you with a wonderful dining experience so they're more than happy to answer any questions you may have :D

Being a vegetarian family, this was a godsend. We were so glad that we found this place and we came here for our daughters milestone birthday for my other child with ADHD, calm ambience, and calm music was not overwhelming. I have the time on a Sunday at 8 o'clock. There were a few other tables, but it wasn't crowded. The food came in good time, and the service was functional. For group of eight we ordered about 18 dishes and we were super cool came up to about $230. They said they do delivery through Uber eats

"HOLD UP, wait a minute?! You're telling me this is vegetarian?" This is probably what you're thinking, and let me answer that question: YES! I mean, I've only started eating vegetarian food at least once a week, and thought the options were limited but had no idea that all these restaurants even existed! Making it so much easier for vegetarians to enjoy the stuff they normally can't. If you're going to ask me what this "sushi" platter contains, it contains rolls and nigiri - vegetarian style everything was fresh, made to order, and pretty bomb. What else was on the menu? There was house special duck, tenon special roll and seafood yaki u-don. Check out IG: @ooi.eats for all food reviews and your next foodie adventure.

Had the chance to try this place with a friend tonight. The service was different between us and others that entered. Definately was not happy with the service. The waitress came to us 3 times within a couple minutes to ask us if we have decided yet. I really felt unwelcomed and rushed. I usually dont say anything negative. Food was mediocre. I really dont know why this place is rated as high as it is. Maybe everyone else ordered something different than me.

Green dragon roll I think. Tempura vegan shrimp, etc.

We probably ordered too much food but it's hard to decide when you live far away and don't know when you will be back. This was our second visit and we stick to the Japanese menu and ordered things we can't get at home. Our sushi feast included 4 special rolls, 4 regular rolls, 2 hand rolls, and 1 appetizer. All the rolls had the rice on the outside and one of our special rolls, the Montreal Roll, was tempura roll where the entire roll is battered and fried. After scanning the menu for tempura rolls, In thought there were none so that was a pleasant surprise. Tenon is very generous with the avocado which I very much appreciated. My favorite roll was topped with avocado, a zillion thing slices crowded together. The king mushroom special roll was another favorite. It's five pieces and topped with 5 large bonus pieces of tempura mushroom in addition to the tempura mushroom inside the roll. As soon as we sat down, they brought us a hot pot of complementary green tea. The tea was permeated with the flavor of toasted rice and was quite lovely. A note to vegans - the items on the menu with cream cheese are not labeled with the red dot meaning "contains eggs or dairy" but I do believe they are made with dairy cream cheese. I first this I ordered was Philadelphia roll and the last thing I said was that we wanted the food vegan. The Philadelphia roll came without cream cheese so I can only assume the cream cheese is not vegan. For some reason the red dot only appears next to items with mayonnaise. There are lots of types of vegan seafood - salmon, crab, shrimp, as well as meat - chicken, duck, beef, etc. Highly recommended. I'm sure everything is delicious.

Graceful Vegetarian Restaurant, located inside Splendid China Mall in Scarborough, serves Chinese…read morevegetarian dishes that (in my opinion) are way better than the ones served in similar Chinese vegetarian restaurants that I had been to elsewhere in the GTA. At Graceful, they actually offer dishes that contain no mock meat, such as straight tofu and bean curd varieties with fresh vegetables (as a non-meat eater, I'm not a big fan of mock meats). The food here seems to be a hit with both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. The restaurant is easily spottable as there are huge signs and entrances from both outside and inside the mall. The interior is not very big - just one big room, but has a cozy and comfortable ambiance with Chinese decorations. There was a table with take-out snack and dessert items right at the entrance, where you can buy packages of cashew nuts, Chinese cookies, and glutinous rice-based snacks / desserts. Service was very friendly, quick, and much better than the service you'd find at most other Chinese restaurants anywhere else. We were presented with 3 menus: dim sum menu (where you mark the items you want to order yourself with a pencil), special dishes menu (with coloured photos), and the main menu (came in a paper booklet). We ordered a combination of dishes from the dim sum and main menus. DIM SUM - Vegetarian Shiu Mai: Loved it! The texture was very smooth and I could see the pieces of vegetables (maybe carrot, radish, water chestnut, mushrooms) in the shiu mai. - Mock BBQ Eel: We ordered this one just out of curiosity. This was my least favourite item out of the ones we ordered. It came out as cubed pieces of deep-fried gluten, covered in sweet sauce and a bit of sesame seeds. Not a fan of deep-fried stuff, and I didn't like the sweet sauce. It had zero resemblance (both visually and taste-wise) to eel (we didn't expect it to be... just wanted to see how this dish would turn out). - Mock Sliced Abalone Sashimi: This was okay, but it could do without the sauce. I liked the firm texture, just like abalone. It was served with a small dollop of wasabi (not needed, in my opinion). MAIN DISHES - Stir-Fried Tofu, Cabbage, Carrot, and Wood Ear Mushrooms: My absolute favourite dish here! We ordered it because I read another Yelp reviewer wrote that this dish was great, non-greasy, and non-oily. They were correct (thank you)! Glad we got this. The tofu was nice and firm with a chewy texture, and I loved all the vegetables that came with this dish. As a big fan of stir-fried cabbage and wood ear mushrooms, this was an easy win. I liked that it wasn't covered in thick sauce and not oily or greasy. - Egg Whites and Mock Crab Meat on Broccoli: Broccoli was a bit on the soft side, but I liked this dish for the combination of fresh vegs and a huge amount of lean protein (egg whites) on top. It was a big dish, and we got to take home some of the egg whites. - Crispy Egg-Free Noodles with Bean Curd Slices and Bitter Melon: This came with too much thick sauce (although I liked the black pepper), but the parts with the still-crispy noodles were good. The protein was actually called "Mock Beef" in the menu, but it was really bean curd slices. I liked the bitter melon the best in this dish, minus the sauce. Overall, this was a great place for Chinese vegetarian food. There was a wide variety of items to choose from, ranging from dim sum (small dishes) to larger main dishes, and all sorts of cooking styles (steamed, stir-fried, deep fried, soup, hot pot, etc.). In the fried rice section of the menu, it was written that they could make all of the fried rice vegan by omitting the eggs (good option for those who want them to be vegan). The 2 stand-outs of this restaurant were the quality and taste of the dishes (especially the ones with tofu / bean curd and actual vegetables), and the service. The gentleman who worked there (perhaps the manager or owner) really cared about his customers and acted like an owner - greeting us, making sure we were taken care of, giving us extra napkins and utensils when asked, explaining each dish that came out, and said goodbye as we were leaving. I plan on coming back to try some of their other dishes on the menu (still lots to choose from!).

Spouse had the mock sharks' fin soup - 10/10. We shared the "Korean style" napa cabbage with several mushrooms and taofu. It was outstanding and thankfully not loaded with cornstarch. 10/10. We splurged on "peanut filled dumplings" which contained minutely-chopped water chestnuts, chopped carrot and mushroom and the lovely crunchy peanuts. TEXTURE WAS SUBLIME and the TASTE outstanding. 10/10. Service: 10/10. Ambiance: 10/10. Highly, highly recommended.
