My fiance took me to Mizu for my birthday and it was a lovely experience. We did arrive about 15-20 mins early and they told us to come back, even though it was the first slot of the day on a Saturday. We ended up just walking around and waiting in the car until then. It was a full-house and three chefs who attended to us. They were really great at keeping conversations going and everything was made in a timely manner, even though we started earlier than the party next to us. As a birthday gift, they gave me some free uni and gold edible glitter! Mizu is definitely one of the more solid omakase choices in the GTA.

Came here for my birthday and I love it!! Black cod is probably my fave dish there. Appetizers are all real good too! Not really a fan of their tamago, as i prefer ones where you can taste the layers of the egg rolls more. Love the squid and absolutely love how fresh their sushi are! This is probably the first time I dont hate uni and scallop nigiri! Dont even taste fishy! Would absolutely come back! Special shout out to my chef! She's real cute and even sang for me!

Celebrated at Mizu with a friend--super fresh sashimi and great quality. I loved the uni, anago, and toro, and will definitely add an extra uni cup next time. It's affordable, the staff are warm, and I'll definitely be back. I was impressed by its quality!

This place offers amazing value in their omakase menu. The chef was so friendly!! The quality of the seafood was also spectacular!! Their otoro was an instant melt in your mouth - no fishiness smell or taste. Their bafun uni was also rich and creamy!!! I'd definitely recommend this place over other budget friendly omakase establishments in the area. Note: This venue only serves omakase style menu/ dining experience. There are adds- on available, however it is not an a la carte type of restaurant.

I had a fantastic experience at Mizu. The spot is very intimate and the chefs all know their stuff. Our sushi artist was very friendly and knowledgeable, and we had a great conversation that flowed effortlessly the whole night - which made the experience that much more enjoyable! It was cool to watch each piece being made and although it's only 10 pieces I was full at the end. We ended off with the matcha coconut pudding - I was worried it'd taste more like coconut than matcha, but it was the other way around! So I really enjoyed that as well. The servers are very attentive and will not let your beverage deplete at all lol. They came around almost every two minutes to fill our cups. This spot is a great choice for omakase in Scarborough, especially since most places are downtown or further.

I just found this little hidden gem in Scarborough, as there are not many Omakase sushi restaurants in this area. The following are my dining experience at the Mizu Omakase Sushi restaurant. - A lot of parking space available. - The decoration of the restaurant is typical mid to high-end sushi bar restaurant. - Staff are attention to details and service is excellent. - The sushi chief servicing us is well experience. - Every piece of sushi is fresh and tasty. The sushi size portion is just right for me, as many sushi restaurants in the GTA serve micro size sushi. - I liked their chef did not use the "traditional" super sour Japanese red vinegar for the sushi rice, which many high-end sushi restaurants uses now-a-days. - Most importantly the price is very affordable for what they offer. - Reservation is mandatory.

Really enjoyed the omakase here. My friend and I made a booking couple weeks in advance. The sushi chef was really nice and kind explaining to us in English even tho we understand Cantonese. Every piece of sushi was fresh and tasty. I would definitely come back.

I had a great time here as my first omakase experience! Everything was very fresh and so good. The service was super attentive and welcoming. It was reasonably priced for omakase as well. I would definitely be back

this spot is a good value omakase for the price. it was the perfect amount of food at the end of everything. only complaint is that the pieces were a bit wasabi heavy, would ask for them to go lighter next time.

I came here to try the omakase, priced at $95 for dinner. The chef was knowledgeable, and the experience didn't feel rushed or uncomfortable, which I really appreciated. Surprisingly, the highlight of the entire dinner for me was the egg dish. While all the sushi and sashimi were fresh and good, nothing else really stood out as much as the egg. Overall, it was a solid, classic omakase spot.

The nigiri was decent on both deliveries with the rolls being a tad above average. I was tempted to order a bowl but wanted a more filling option. With my go to spot for sushi delivery not showing any signs of revival. This might fill the void for now. 3.5 stars

There were three add-ons (toro with caviar $25, uni with caviar $35, and caviar sushi). I opted in for the toro and uni add-ons. It was strange they give you the add-ons before any other nigiri. Everything was very good and fresh. Standouts for me was the appetizer, all three cuts of bluefin tuna, the lobster (by far my favorite), and the hotaru ika. I would've appreciated knowing that the omakase included or not included toro and uni before I decided on the add-ons but I don't regret it. It was a splurge night after all. Service was very attentive. Note that the dining space is very small. 12 seats around the counter and two tables. There was a very loud gentleman two seats from me who never learned to use his inside voice and totally ruined vibe. But that's not on the staff. Another note is that gratuity is automatic on the bill.

The space itself leans more modern and clean rather than the typical dark, cozy izakaya vibe, which I actually didn't mind. It felt comfortable, not too loud, and easy to settle into for a slow dinner. We ordered a mix of small plates to share, and everything came out looking nicely put together. The aburi-style salmon sushi was one of the highlights for me.. lightly seared, with a soft texture and just enough flavor on top without being overwhelming. The tuna tataki was also fresh and clean, simple but well done. Some of the fried dishes leaned a bit richer with the creamy sauces, but they were still enjoyable, especially if you're in the mood for something a little more indulgent. The beef fried rice was straightforward but satisfying, one of those dishes that's easy to keep going back to between everything else. Drinks were a nice touch too.. refreshing, nicely presented, and added to the overall experience. Overall, this feels like a solid spot for a casual night out with friends.
