Great omakase spot that's a bit of a hidden gem because of it's location in a random somewhat sketchy plaza. The chef was really friendly and the atmosphere was casual but still professional. The sushi was good and I really enjoyed the signature hot puff pastry. The dessert was also yummy. The chef and the servers were all very attentive which is important. They provide guests with a copy of the menu as a souvenir which is a nice touch. I would love to come back :)

Delicious Omakase in an unassuming plaza located in Scarborough. Service was excellent and highly attentive throughout the meal course. The chef s tried to maintain an intimate experience. A few of the dishes including the monkfish puff were very unique. Everything was very fresh. Slightly pricey relative to others but overall a pleasant Omakase experience.

I found this place actually as a suggestion as a new restaurant on OpenTable. After checking out their IG, I didn't see much of anything except that it was omakase... so you bet I was there We booked it for dinner on a Friday and surprisingly it ended up being a private dinner for 2! There was only 1 omakase option at $175/pp and didn't really state how many courses it was, but it actually ended up being like 17/18 courses including appetizers, sashimi, nigiri, soup, desserts. I felt overall it was good value for the amount of food, but only a few items stood out to me. I liked the monkfish liver puff, that was different and was very rich, had some sweetness from the puff pastry and saltiness from the liver. The uni/scallop/ikura on rice was almost like a small chirashi course. The first cold noodle/octopus appetizer was refreshing and tangy. The nigiri courses were all very good but standard tbh. I usually devour ginger because of its sweet, sour and salty taste but this was one was just salty Lastly we had 2 desserts to end and the ice cream with cheese was interesting, I know sweet and salty is a good pair but the cheese was rubbery cause of the coldness of the ice cream This place is fairly new so regardless of this experience, I'm open to giving them another try down the road!

    A nice surprise

It was a sad moment when Nishinokaze shuttered its doors for sushi-lovers everywhere in the city. Thankfully, from its ashes rises Shizuku. Chef Kazuki has taken the helm at the former Nishinokaze location with a good combination of traditional flavours and creative, more contemporary takes on familiar dishes in his omakase. I was particularly a fan of the uni & spot prawn marinated with xiaoxing wine as well as a magical choux puff with a very special ingredient inside. This is a very intimate space that seats less than 10, and is reservation-only. Like Nishinokaze, I'm sure it will become quite busy as more find out about this hidden gem in Scarborough.

We booked the entire place to ourselves and it was quite a fantastic and intimate dining experience. We were initially a group of 8 but were allowed to add another 2. I like omakases and I can say I thoroughly enjoyed everything that was offered. I was pleasantly surprised by the monkfish in the choux pastry. It was perfectly warm on the inside and buttery but not flaky. It was paired well with the sake of which I've forgotten. I also loved all the nigiri and the dessert. There wasn't something I disliked and I'm so happy to have come here. Chef Kazuki was very friendly and there was such an ease when he was preparing our dinner. He was also kind enough to participate in our group photo at the end of our evening! I highly recommend coming here. Everyone knows their stuff and you'll have a wonderful experience. The attention to detail in the serving plates and cups didn't go unnoticed by me and I appreciated that extra touch.

The nigiri was decent on both deliveries with the rolls being a tad above average. I was tempted to order a bowl but wanted a more filling option. With my go to spot for sushi delivery not showing any signs of revival. This might fill the void for now. 3.5 stars

There were three add-ons (toro with caviar $25, uni with caviar $35, and caviar sushi). I opted in for the toro and uni add-ons. It was strange they give you the add-ons before any other nigiri. Everything was very good and fresh. Standouts for me was the appetizer, all three cuts of bluefin tuna, the lobster (by far my favorite), and the hotaru ika. I would've appreciated knowing that the omakase included or not included toro and uni before I decided on the add-ons but I don't regret it. It was a splurge night after all. Service was very attentive. Note that the dining space is very small. 12 seats around the counter and two tables. There was a very loud gentleman two seats from me who never learned to use his inside voice and totally ruined vibe. But that's not on the staff. Another note is that gratuity is automatic on the bill.

The space itself leans more modern and clean rather than the typical dark, cozy izakaya vibe, which I actually didn't mind. It felt comfortable, not too loud, and easy to settle into for a slow dinner. We ordered a mix of small plates to share, and everything came out looking nicely put together. The aburi-style salmon sushi was one of the highlights for me.. lightly seared, with a soft texture and just enough flavor on top without being overwhelming. The tuna tataki was also fresh and clean, simple but well done. Some of the fried dishes leaned a bit richer with the creamy sauces, but they were still enjoyable, especially if you're in the mood for something a little more indulgent. The beef fried rice was straightforward but satisfying, one of those dishes that's easy to keep going back to between everything else. Drinks were a nice touch too.. refreshing, nicely presented, and added to the overall experience. Overall, this feels like a solid spot for a casual night out with friends. It's not overly traditional, but it's easygoing, shareable, and comfortable.. the kind of place you'd come back to when you just want good food and a relaxed atmosphere.
