We have been to this place a number of times and the food has always been good. The only thing we would like to mention is it seem like the customer service is lacking specially late at night. We went there today at around 11pm and it took them about 5 minutes to acknowledge us so we just found a table on our own. Then another 7 mins or so to get a menu. Ordered carry out in the restaurant during lunch. The server was very nice but when I got the menu I thought the prices for combination were high but I ordered two enchilada combos for our dinner later. I ask the server if the enchiladas were rolled and she said yes. I received my order in a timely manner but when I got home I received the wrong food and did not look like the portions on the menu. I called the restaurant telling them I got the wrong order basically they could've cared less. Sorry lady is what they she said. My husband would not eat his and I ate mine but it wasn't that great. The fried beans were horrible. I threw the second one away after reading in one of the reviews of failed fairfax restaurant inspections. I paid a little over $31 with tip for these. UberEats and Doordash both said closed but restaurant was open. When I called to ask if the restaurant was OPEN, I got put on hold. Second employee was confused and hung up on me. After two hours of waiting for food to make progress, I ordered through qMenu which I had never used before. Order never got past confirmed, but me and my girlfriend drove over to see if it was ready. I was the only customer and the employees pretended I was not there for as long as possible. Finally got the food and drove back home, the food surprisingly smelled good. Got back home and me nor my girlfriend took more than one bite of our main course: a tough seafood burrito covered in cheese and beef enchiladas. We tried to eat the beans but they were just brown liquid with the consistency of water. The only thing that wasn't terrible was the rice. One of the worst meals I have ever had. read more

Simply Horrible: Watery Salsa lacks any spice. Chips are either bland or too salty. Piscado Frito is old and greasy. Anything fried here such as the Yuca con Chicharron is greasy and anemic. Check out Cerritos Pupuseria in Chantilly. It's a little dive off route 50 but the food is 100% better. read more

The worst customer service ever. This is a 24/7 restaurant, food is great and I have been always treated with courtesy and respect, but on 10/26/2020 at 3:00 AM the waiter literally slammed the menu on my table, I was hungry and I just wanted to eat, but I noticed the waiter was drunk, yes he was drunk. After a few minutes the chef was the one that served my food because the waiter was in the bar area laughing and playing music. After 12 minutes to be exact I finished my food and I just wanted to pay and leave, I had to ask a lady in the kitchen to get someone to get my check, then the drunk waiter showed up throwing the check on the table. THIS WAS AN ACKWARD EXPERIENCE. A shame that a good restaurant's reputation is damaged by unprofessional individuals. Stay Away of this place. read more

OK, let me start by saying that if you like Mexican food with sombreros while somebody is singing you happy birthday, this is not your spot. I'm not badmouthing those places, as I also enjoy them, but please understand what you are getting when you go someplace. Two Amigos is authentic Mexican. You will actually see Hispanic individuals eating there, which is what the FBI calls a clue. The menus are set up so that there are English translations, but for the most part, it is set up such that somebody from Mexico would be comfortable eating there. The servers are typically not very fluent in English, but they get by OK. The time my wife and I ate there, we had pupusas for an appetizer, and then we both had enchiladas of various flavors for our entrees. The food was hot and arrived in good time. Everything had good flavor, was fresh, and visually appetizing. The desert tray was full of authentic and home made deserts. We had the tres leches and the flan, and both were very good. If I were to give any negative remark, it might be over my margarita. I ordered it with Patron Silver and Gran Marnier, and it came as ordered. It was a good drink and I enjoyed it. It also cost about $17. (Probably not horrible considering the size and quality of liquor, but I didn't expect it to be quite that expensive.) Let me start by saying some people are more racist than I am when it comes to dining. If you go to a joint like P.F. Chang because you like "Asian" food but don't want to be around Asians, knock yourself out. I think PF is ok but in a plastic BS kind of way ...Olive Garden too. I don't mind a restaurant that skimps on the swag screwed into the wall if they are generous with the flavor and the portions. This place is that. When we came in, we got great service. Our waiter was happy to tell us all about the food he grew up with. And we had lots of questions. Look, if you are in America get used to immigrants. They have something to bring to the table. And at Two Amigos it's very tasty. Wife wanted to try their empanadas and I wanted the loroco pupusas (ask about it for yourself...mmmm, it is worth trying.) We got both. And I'm not sure I have had salsa and chips that was watery but so uniquely seasoned well. Boring me, I was just wanting an old chimichanga and it was good. The real eye opener was my wife's order of paella. This was the first time I honestly enjoyed it. I thought I didn't like this stuff till now. It was that amazing. They also make their own cheese too. We asked to take some home in our doggy bag. The portions were large. Believe me when I tell you this place offers the best Salvadoran/Mexican food in the area. My favorite item on the menu are the pupusas. Crispy on the outside and soft and cheesy on the inside. Perfection! Their coleslaw mix with the salsa roja is flavorful and adds that extra crunch on top of the pupusa. The tamales are my other favorites. It's wrapped around the leaf and when you open it, the aroma is incredible. Tender pieces of chicken inside makes it all come together. The chicharron is crispy and complimented with a squeeze of lime and the yuca on the side is soft and perfect pairing to the chicharron. I'm going to let you guys go there and judge yourself. You will leave with the biggest food baby ever. The horchata is also the highlight of my meal. It's not too sweet and always refreshing. Service is great, food comes out pretty quick and employees are attentive. Very authentic restaurant mix of mexican and salvadoran food!! read more

I'm not big on half stars but I wish I could give them an extra half for effort. We had gone here once before while at the Expo center. It's just a short walk in the same shopping center. I would definitely advice to go for the more Peruvian items rather than the Mexican fare. The Beef Fajitas were merely so the next time I ordered of the House Specialties and got the Tipico which includes a Papusa, a Chicken Tamale (wrapped in banana leaf rather than corn husk), and Fried Plantains. It was served with a delicious cream as well as the cabbage. Totally wonderful. If it were that experience alone, I may have bumped it into 5 star territory, but I have to dock them for the following. First, I have never met a margarita I didn't like. I like all different kinds from a mix, frozen, on the rocks, flavored, regular. However, I was served a MASSIVE margarita and was shocked at the absence of any sort of flavor. It tasted like straight tequila and flavorless ice. I though about suffering through the gargantuan drink but instead sent it back in favor of a plain ol' coke. Shucks. Update- my boyfriend and I went back the SAME day for dinner and the place was PACKED with Hispanic people (confirms the authenticity) we had MORE pupas, chicken tamales, beef empanadas, and acapulco grilled parrillada, ceviche and mango margaritas. Unfortunately, very disappointed with my lunch. Ordered 3 tacos which came with red beans, rice, sour cream and lettuce. The tacos were filled with greasy ground beef that made them soggy. I received about a teaspoon of sour cream for 3 good sized tacos. The beans, were also flavorless and really soupy (in a bad way). The salsa was watery, food wasn't very good, they were showing some horror movie the whole time we were there. Nothing like eating tacos while listening to the piercing shrill of a woman screaming as she's murdered! We had to ask like four times "what kind of lettuce is in the salad" before we got an answer other than "the salad has lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, avocado and radish." We only went because we were trying to use a restaurant.com gift card we got for free but it still wasn't worth it. This is my 1st review on Yelp and I wish it could have been a better experience. The restaurant definitely doesn't focus on service, our waiter might as well have been a customer watching tv. Anytime a restaurant has poor service it automatically is a "do not return", especially since there are plenty of other restaurants serving the same kind of food out there. We ordered appetizers and a main course. The appetizers came out the same time as our main course. No explanation was offered or any apologies. Again, bad service. As far as the food, it was not impressive. The wings were pretty good but the carne asada and pescado frito were sub par. They advertise a buffet 11-3. They lied. I went in at 230. Yes, there was a buffet, so maybe it was a half lie. And maybe I'm rating them 1 and half star. 80% of the food was 86 (out, if you don't know restaurant lingo). I enjoy a buffet for some variety; a little of this and a little of that and on my plate goes only what I want, not what the chef wants. But this was pitiful. I went with my poor pitiful plate of food and asked if anything else was coming out. She said no, it was late. I said, but you advertise until 3 and it's not 3. She said sorry. Failure 1: I wasn't told when I got to my table and asked for the buffet that there was no food left. I know, I should have put the plate down and left, but I'd already started filling it before I got down the line. You see, they keep the dishes covered, so it was not apparent on my first fly-by of the line that the food was gone. Failure 2: I wasn't offered the chance to have the kitchen prepare something for me. Would have been a nice touch of customer service. Not done. Failure 3: I wasn't offered a discount to help them throw a bit less food away. I'd have been happy had they offered as little as a dollar off, more had they offered 20%. Failure 4: When the server came by to ask how I was and I let her know I wasn't entirely happy, nothing was done. No apology, no manager came by, nothing was offered. She was OK that I was not happy. That's why the 10% tip; bonus for stopping by a few times to check on me. Some servers would have ignored me, knowing I wasn't happy. Failure 5: My total for this dismal buffet was $10.49. I gave a twenty and didn't get my penny back. That's right, I'm bitching over a penny. Have you been reading along? These failures are why they lost me as a customer today. Sad thing is, I often stay in the hotel in their front yard. I could come here often, with others, refer others as well. I will say this, the food was tasty and seemed of quality. I would be willing to bet had I been there between 1130 and 1230, maybe even 1, it would have been a completely different experience. But they were OK with that. Staying at the Holiday Inn down the street and wanted to try this. Stopped in the bar side first for a drink. Was loud and intimidating and I am not easily intimidated, as I was stared at like I should not be there. After my beer went to the quiet restaurant side. Was waited on quickly with chips and salsa. Quesadillas were fantastic, the house Margarita was good as well. Chips were very bland and the seats were not great. Service was very good.

This place has such a vibrant, friendly atmosphere. Jackie, our bartender was so nice and made killer margaritas! We ordered some songs on the juke box and had a great time. I wasn't expecting much but the selections were pretty weak and if you're not going to offer a wide variety then you better really execute the limited selections. All of the food was very heavy and dense. The empanada's had a lot of potential but were greasy, bland and clunky. There was some kind of rolled up ham filled with spinach that was laughable. I drive by this place each day from work and one day decided to give it a try and I am REALLY glad I did! I normally order the cheese/chicken enchiladas along with the ground beef taco. Each item is seasoned well and very flavorful. Most recently, we tried the beef tongue taco as well as the chorizo. I am telling, you----both are amazing!! I can easily eat here 3 - 4/week.
