Yummy! Small local restaurant but has tasty food with great portions for your money. Parking can be a bit of a challenge but if you see this little red bldg on the side, make a stop. Family friendly with great customer service.

This place is busy. This place is authentic El Salvadoran food and the people love it! Service 5/5 available and helpful but not pushy Food 5/5 tasty and good value we ordered 2 chicken burritos, plantains, cheese and pork pupusas and steak tacos. All were good and the pupusas represented El Salvadoran cuisine pretty accurately according to our waitress. 4/5 it's Family style restaurant. The parking lot isn't paved and the place looks like an older pink house on the outside, but it was clean and comfortable inside.

Came by to pick up dinner and it was our first time. The staff are so friendly! For a $60 total for 2 people, we got SO much food. Things we got: Revuelta Pupusa (mixed pork and cheese): had to try a pupusa since it's in the name. And it was yummy! Love their sauce that it came with. Carne Asada Taco: The tacos come with two taco wraps and this one was okay, it was a bit dry and not as much meat as the pollo. Pollo Taco: the portion on this one filled both taco wraps to the brim and more. It's so yummy with the sauce it came with. Carne Burrito: this was SOO big. And it was FILLED, love that there is avocado in there to make it so rich. Sopa de Gallina: this hen soup was suggested by the staff and it was tasty. It's kind of like a chicken noodle soup but I think with rice?? There was a huge jalepeno, a piece of corn, some zuchini, and potato. It would be good for a cold day. It comes with a chicken drumstick and thigh and some tortillas. If you're looking for a chicken noodle (rice) soup, try this, otherwise nothing too special. Carne Asada Special: this came it's own box and was filled to the brim with food. It came with a lot of rice and two pieces of beef, some bean paste, and veggies. You can definitely get full from this from the amount of rice, but nothing too special in taste. Things I would get again: pupusa, tacos, burrito

This was amazing

Food 5/5 Restaurant 2/5 Service 4/5 Firstly, the beef soup I ordered tasted INCREDIBLE. Best I've ever had, seriously. It tastes exactly as if it were made by your 80 year old abuela using a recipe passed down for centuries. The meat was perfectly tender. The soup was perfectly seasoned. The vegetables were perfectly cooked. And the broth? Mouth orgasm. The steak burrito was very tasty as well but the meat was a bit dry. It includes fresh avocado and homemade fresh salsa you can tell by the cuts. The two salsa offerings they have are lackluster. THE PORTION SIZES ARE ENORMOUS. The burrito is 3x the size of chipotle burritos. The soup is 5x as large as a soup at Panera bread. Great pricing. Restaurant is plenty spacious. The most striking thing about the restaurant is how dirty it is. There are years worth of caked up dirt under the tables for example. Service was friendly but not very attentive

The soup was by far some os the best seafood soup Salvadorena style that I've had in a while, good for the price they were not stingy at all like most places with the seafood, We also had the hen soup also great dish presentation and taste wise was absolutely delicious and the served with the grilled pieces of hen on the side, charred to perfection with just the right seasoning both soups were amazing. However we ordered some pupusas to go and I was personally let down by this place the size was good for the price but the filling of them seemed to be lacking of cheese which is one of the main ingredients on pupusas and since I've had then there before it seemed like they are cutting cost and compromising quality so pleas don't do that make sure you get that good tasty cheese there. Service it was OK there was a lot of room for improvement on that area, and I understand that was the afternoon and on a Saturday but the servers were looking like they were forced to be there and very straight faced in fact, no one ask if everything was ok father we were served or whether we wanted to order anything else, and had to struggle to get their attention to get what we needed. So if someone from management reads this please address this issue most of the people I know that has been here got the same feeling about the service. Ambiance wise Is a very casual type of place even a little to informal, building looks rundown it needs major improvement and a good facelift and don't get me wrong I'll visit again just for the sole purpose of the food but it'll be GREAT TO FEEL WELCOMED and no line we are burdening you with our presence there. Thank you!

The truth is I didn't really know what pupuseria was. But here's how I discovered this place. On my way back from running errands, I saw a line of people waiting to get into this place from Rt 50 (literally right off of 50, where it's John Mosby Hwy). My inner Yelp radar was vibrating like crazy and let me know: this is a must check out local place. I looked up what Pupuseria was and realized it was El Salvadoran cafe. I took a venture and called up and asked for very my current diet friendly (which is Pescatorian) shrimp quesadillas with side of yellow rice. I went to pick it up around 330p which I knew would be a low crowd times. I entered the cafe building from unpaved dirt lot. It's a literal hole-in-the wall gem. Even at 330p, there were patrons eating inside so can't imagine how busy they get around actual meal times. My order was ready, paid and picked up. I came home to enjoy one of the most delicious quesadilla I've had in my life. Those pump shrimps! And that white creamy sauce must be El Salvadorian version or Yum Yum sauce. So delicious! It was such huge portions I knew I could finish other half tomorrow. It was so satisfying. I'm so glad this place is so close from my new condo and thank my Yelp radar for detecting a gem like this.

Sopa de Res con limón verde por sabor

I did a Yelp search on soups and this place popped up. I figured it was going to be pretty good by all the work trucks/vans in the parking lot. It did not disappoint! It was a locally run shop with very friendly people. Food came out quickly and everything was fantastic. It was made by scratch and tasted great. I got the sopa de res. Having a Colombian wife I'm used to ordering the caldo de res. The difference is the number of ribs in the soup. This thing was packed with beef ribs. The broth was top notch with big chucks of carrots and potatoes and good portions of green onions and cilantro. It honestly, was too much for me and I left some behind. If I get a chance to go back, I'll have to try the chicken soup. The pulposa was great also.

A whole lotttaaaa food lol

Does anyone know why it closed? I showed up at noon 3/1/19 & a lot of people were walking to the door & leaving with a sad face. A paper said they're closed for construction until 3/8/19, but there wasn't any work being done at all.

We are having work done in the kitchen, Sorry for any inconvenience!

This is one of several occasions that I've tried calling between 7-715pm and it goes straight to voicemail. I literally called 20 + Times. Does anyone know if they stop taking to go orders after 7pm?

I thought they closed at 7pm? Probably why you cant get thru. I've called before and it went to voicemail but i think its because they only have one line. Just keep trying...and call before 7pm.

That combo is rare and I refuse to take it for granted. The food is just incredible across the board. And I mean ALL of it. I have yet to order something that didn't completely deliver. The flavors are bold, authentic, and made with what clearly feels like actual care and love going into every dish. It's the kind of food that makes you stop mid-bite just to appreciate what's happening. And the prices? Beyond reasonable. You are getting so much food and flavor for what you pay -- it never feels like a splurge even when you go all out on the order. I find myself coming back any chance I get and honestly the hardest part of the visit is just deciding what to get because everything is that good. It's become one of those non-negotiable spots for me -- the kind of place I'll drive for and never think twice about. If you're in the Manassas area and you haven't been to La Jarochita yet, fix that immediately. You will not regret it, you will not leave hungry, and your wallet will thank you.

We drove out of our way to try this place and honestly it was a bit confusing to figure out where to order. There are two lines and it's not very clear which one we are supposed to get in for what. Especially because some of the items are duplicate on both menus. I noticed there was barely anyone in the "restaurant" line. Anyway, we sort of got a little bit of everything and wasn't completely brown away. I liked that they let you add your own toppings, and all of the sauces that have available were great. But the taco meats all sort of lacked a bit of flavor. Carnitas are my favorite but these were a bit inconsistent. Some pieces were very nice and juicy where others were hard to chew. I will say the place is very clean and spacious. They're pretty quick with your order as well. The food was lacking flavor for me personally. Overall, I don't think I would go back.

I came here during a visit to Fairfax and decided to see what was happening in here while visiting nearby Barnes & Noble. Nice clean spot with a bar and monitors. I came on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't crowded. I ordered the spicy mushroom, taco Bamba (skirt steak), and chicken (Peruvian). My biggest mistake was eating the spicy mushroom first. It was so hot, I could barely eat the other two. For my taste, I didn't enjoy any of the three. They just don't taste like Mexican tacos, and I guess that's the whole point. I guess I should be impressed by the variety of ingredients, but a good taco is a good taco. Sometimes a simple hamburger just beats a steak. Other diners looked happy and content, so I'm sure this place has their following. This is a strip mall with solid parking, retail stores, and other places to eat. I wouldn't call this a destination spot, with exception for the book store, Nordstrom Rack, Old Navy, and Capital Grille. The main section of the parking lot was quite full and all the stores along the mall appear to track solid business. I was hoping to sit down and eat at the bar, but it was empty with no good games on TV when I visited, so I ordered takeout, which took about 12 minutes to prepare. I wish this place the best.
