Very unwelcoming to African American guests and they upped the prices of the food in the system but it doesn't reflect on the menu customers look at. I told her the price discrepancy and she came out and looked and still said that's the price. I reiterated the same sentiment why are you charging higher than what's on the menu. She had no answer. I almost left but I just bought the tacos and sat down inside to eat. This is a grab and go kind of place there's chairs and a table, to enjoy in-house and they have the World Cup on so. read more

Soooo good! We did an airport drop off and I was starving but not dressed to really go out. We grabbed breakfast tacos and pupusas right off route 50. It's in an industrial building and there are only 5 tables, but the food looks and smells really good. The taste was great. I loved the beans. Nothing fancy to stop at, but you should do it. The ladies making all the yummy food were chatting and enjoying themselves. They know the menu in English well, so no language barrier. read more

Totally forgot about this place. I was craving for some pupusas and tamales and they were delish! Just typing this review reminds me that I need to go back and get some more yummy goodness. The only thing I wished was more seating and maybe just a tad bit cleaner.... Like one reviewer said, don't let the place deter you from going in. The food is delicious and the people in the back are friendly. read more

The food was fantastic and the ladies were very nice, especially with my somewhat limited Spanish. There are a couple small tables inside/outside but not much to the interior. It's all about the food here. I had the tacos, elotes locas, Chocobananas (frozen bananas), and pork/cheese pupusas. Everything was excellent and I would recommend this place to anyone and definitely return. read more

It's a hole in the wall type of restaurant. The space inside is small and has tables and chairs, I believe there are tables and chairs outside. Not sure. Regardless, the food is delicious and highly recommend it! Authentic and many yummy food options! The service was kind and generous. Definitely coming back soon to try other dishes! read more

My wife and I decided to come by based on the high reviews. We opted for pupusas (pork, beans, cheese), hen tamales, and the yuca with chicharron. The pupusas are tasty, but based on other places and prices that ive seen it is an average size for the price. Im not a huge fan of their version of cabbage slaw, but others may disagree. The tamales was good, its something I would get again, but wouldn't go out of my way for. The yuca and chicarron was my favorite, the one downside is the size of the yuca. They cut them large vs medium/smaller sizes, so if you like to dip it with their green sauce, you'll need to break them up (not a deal breaker whatsoever). The chicharron was fantastic, the meat to fat ratio and the amount you receive is great for what you get. I would recommend this if youre a fan of yuca and/or chicarrons. I would happily come back to try other foods. As others have said the storefront is very very small. Theres about 3-4 tables in the shop and you barely have any walking room. read more

Great experience. Nice people, food was delicious, my son was a fan of the chicken tacos and cheese pupusa. I had the chorizo taco and pork pupusas. I can still taste the flavor, it was great. Small place, 5ish tables, perfect for carry out when heading home down 50. read more

The staff are incredibly hardworking and the food is high quality and authentic! I got tacos de lengua and al pastor, and they were just delicious. The tamales are great too, and the fried yucca patty appetizer (I forget what it's called). Five stars for this excellent hole in the wall! read more

I am giving them 4.5 Stars. I wish we could do half star ratings on Yelp. My favorite Salvadorian restaurant in Chantilly. The establishment is small, probably about 4 tables. It's better for takeout. I've never actually dine in, so my experience has always been just ordering for pickup. So far, service has always been friendly with whoever I've interacted on the phone or the front counter. I've tried many items on the menu. But, my favorites are the chicken fajitas ( although that's not really a Salvadorian dish), the bean and cheese pupusas , and the hen soup. I just want to really emphasize the hen soup is amazing! Like seriously this is something that you must try. They actually boil the hen, so you can have that chicken flavor broth and then that boiled hen is grilled. I believe they serve breakfast too. Prices are really affordable, especially for this area. read more

EL Granito De Oro - One taco al pastor - Salvadoran Near Me - Chantilly, Virginia

I'm here at least once a week. The food is phenomenal!!!!!! The pupusas are better than anyone within 20 miles. The chicharron con yuca one of my faves, the tamales the elote are authentic and corn 100% no flour so get them. The breakfasts are also a fave.... Just go you will be glad you did. read more

Great food and prices!!! Don't spend your money somewhere else if you are looking for carry out!

The food was okay and I'm sure they are nice people but Unfortunately, the location is dirty and appears unsanitary. Would not recommend do to food safety concerns. read more

El Granito de Oro is a small Salvadorean tortillería and a carry-out eatery, with mostly a take-out system. There are a couple of tables in there, but due to these uncertain times, dining in is currently unavailable. Their menu is extensive, offering items such as carne asada, pollo a la planca, pargo frito, chicarrones, various tacos, tamales, and other daily specials. The hubs and I stopped by for a later lunch, and we ordered a couple of their al pastor tacos, carne asada tacos, and a chicken tamale. From studying the pictures, I was pretty excited for the al pastor, as they seemed to be super well marinated and the colors looked absolutely divine - however, both the al pastor and the carne asada were dried out, flavorless, and were just not tasty. I did enjoy the chicken tamale, as the chicken was juicy and tasty, an dthe tamale itself was piping hot. The horchata that they had in the fridge, along with other housemade drinks and sodas, was okay. Service was friendly, but just note to brush up on your Spanish - limited English spoken here! Not sure if I'd go out of my way to return, but I'm glad I was able to give this place a try. Located in an industrial area and plenty of parking in the front. +tasty tamales +avoid the tacos +flavorless meats +friendly staff +plenty of parking read more

We had to search a little to find this gem tucked away in an industrial park, but it was worth the effort. The food was delicious and inexpensive while the hostess (proprietor?) was friendly and gracious notwithstanding a bit of a language barrier (my Spanish was a little worse than her English but we made it work) read more

By far the best I've tried! It's very authentic and most importantly it's not salty at all! Place is very small and not very welcoming but it's so good! It's my new favorite place now read more

Ate there for lunch with coworkers then ordered carryout for dinner the next day. This place is very small with literally 5 tables, 3-2 seaters and 2-4 seaters. We got there before noon and no one was there. I feel like once word gets out how good they are, it will definitely get more crowded. If you like Cerritos down rt.50 then you'll like this place! We ordered the chicharron and yuca platter as an appetizer to share, chicken taco, steak taco, lengua taco, pupusas revueltas, and modongo soup. For carryout, I ordered carne asada, chorizo taco and lengua taco, pork and cheese pupusas, and chicken tamales. So lots to review here... Pupusas...delicious, flavorful, not dry, plenty of filling, and in my opinion better than Cerritos. And they placed this huge tub of fresh cabbage slaw so you can have as much as you like! Wha wha! I'm down for that! Tacos...my lengua taco was DA BOMB! Best I've had...and yes better than Cerritos again! That's crazy right? It was so tender and flavorful! Ordered it again the next day for my 10 yr old son and he loved it! The other tacos (chicken and steak) were good but not as flavorful as we have had elsewhere. The chorizo taco was pretty tasty though. Chicharron and yuca platter was awesome! Huge portion stacked with big chunks of fried pork and tender yuca topped with slaw and jalapeno slices. Definitely a must try. And dont forget to ask for their house hot sauce. Bottle of something saucy is what they gave us and we put that sh*t on everything lol! It was good! Modongo (tripe) soup was pretty good, had better, and I didnt see any yuca pieces. Instead they put big pieces of plantains (with skin). Never had it like that but all good. Chicken tamales were huge! And yummy! With plenty of filling. Carne asada was delicious as well. Huge pieces of meat over seasoned rice. Came with salad and beans. I like my refried beans kinda chunky but their's was not. Tasted really good regardless. They also gave you 2 homemade tortillas too. I work right across the street so this place is most definitely on rotation! read more

I came here to the great El Granito, I picked up my order. As soon as I walked in, I got confused. The menu is basically a white board. The place was probably a dentist office or a doctors office with a waiting lobby/room, the cashier was just a regular women dressed in regular clothes HOLDING A BABY!! Asking me in a weird manner what I want. Told her I'm picking up. After that came the big boss, it's very to open a restaurant in a place where it was a doctors office, and you don't have any experience in restaurant he could change his attitude since he doesn't have anything normal to offer read more

This is my new favorite lunch spot. Came here with a few coworkers (be warned: the dining room is small), and before noon it was empty. We received our food quickly, as it was made, and it was beyond excellent. We ordered a variety of tacos, pupusas, tamales, plantanos and a few sides, and we were so full we had to be rolled out the door. Best of all my filling, delicious lunch of 2 pupusas and a drink totaled to just over $6. Unheard of in this area, and I will to continue to support this fabulous business. Maybe breakfast next time! read more

THIS PLACE IS WOW FOOD! Really obscure small location but wow had the al pastor tacos and this is as authentic as it will get. Reminds me just like the tacos I had back home in California. EL Granito De Oro - AMAZING AL PASTOR TACOS!! SO MUCH FLAVOR! This is authentic and reminds me so much of tacos from back home in California. A must try! - Salvadoran Near Me - Chantilly, Virginia

I had the Tacos Al Pastor which were very good tasting, but with some gristle mixed in with the meat, it wasn't as enjoyable as it otherwise would've been. The Refried Black Beans were outstanding. Great price for what you get. Worth a try. read more

Best pupusas I have ever had! Fresh and hot with plenty of filling and great slaw! The tacos served with radish, cucumber and sauteed spring onion are also fabulous, fresh and only$2.50 each. The hot sauces are also yummy. If you like authentic Salvadorean food then you must check this place out. Come on folks give it a try and review this great little carryout. A little hard to find but very visible if you are on route 50 by Lee Rd. The folks that work there are very friendly and great cooks. I will be going back again soon! read more
