This restaurant came highly recommended to me and for good reason! I got the cheese pupusa, beef tongue taco, and roquero taco. My favorite was the beef tongue taco. I was a little skeptical at first but the tongue is fried like crispy beef and very tasty. They brought out complimentary chips and homemade salsa to our table. Their salsa was delicious! If I could buy it at the store I would. Good homemade sauce is the sign of a good restaurant. The staff provided excellent service. They were friendly and fast and refilled our drinks. They asked if I wanted pickled cabbage with my order. It was included and yummy. Crispy and fresh pickle. The restaurant is decorated in a traditional way. They also had some Christmas decor which was fun. I loved the variety on their menu. Next time I return I think I'll order the tex-mex burrito. My partner ordered it and the serving size was nice and big!

Unfortunately, Tipicos Los Reyes was a no dice for us. We came here for lunch, as we had read some reviews in which it was a favorite in the area. The menu is extensive, offering various appetizers, salads, sandwiches, soups, platters, and Tex Mex items. We ordered: +the Beef Chimichanga - this was a large flour tortilla filled with carne, served with rice, beans, pico de gallo, sour cream, and guacamole; the beef that was used had an off-putting taste and odor to it, and the texture was super mushy; it wasn't really steak, and it wasn't really ground beef +Carne Asada tacos - similar situation with the off-putting taste and odor of the meat +Pollo tacos - thinking that this would have been better than the carne asada, these were just way too wet and we weren't a fan of the marinade/spices that was used Complimentary chips and salsa were offered, but the salsa was super watered down; the tortilla chips, which were thin, seemed to have been cooked in old oil. Service was a little lackluster, as we weren't checked in on throughout our dining experience and we had a hard time even trying to get the check to pay & leave. Really wished we had similar delicious experiences as other fans of this place; glad I was able to try this place out, but wouldn't return. +off-putting meats +chips cooked in old oil +lackluster service +parking available in lot

No complaints at all. I love what I ordered! We got the tacos combo and pupusas and let me tell you it is sooooo good! I'll miss being in the manassas area just because of this restaurant. I wish I tried this place sooner!

Originally, the family wanted to get lunch in Manassas, but would I want to drive to Manassas? Then they wanted to go to Tipicos and I was on my way. Outside, the restaurant does not look like much, but the place is surprising. The parking lot is okay, but a little limited. It was moderately crowded for lunch. Our server was nice and attentive. They bring out chips and salsa after you order. The Salsa and chips were on point! You have to stop yourself from getting full off that. We got 4 Pupusa Loca and some tacos, 2 Carne, Pollo, Lengua, 2 beef. The Pupsa loca is so cheesy and hits the spot every time! It is huge, I do not know why every time I insist on getting more than one. It is filling and you will be full after. But I had to have tacos. Each taco was delicious, but I really like the Lengua. Their menu had a variety of other items, but I was too full to get anything else. Tipicios is definitely worth a stop and if you are like me, even worth a 30 minute drive!

Was searching on Yelp for an authentic Mexican or Salvadorian restaurant in the Manassas area for dinner and stumbled upon this place. I am just drooling writing this review looking at the pictures I took when we went a couple of months ago. The food here was outstanding and I totally did not expect it. I love a restaurant that makes their pupusas. You can tell because the flour was not thick and the ratio of filling was perfect. Their chips and salsa was amazing and you just can't stop eating it! I cannot wait until this quarantine is over so they can reopen!!!

I'll start by saying I've tried 5 of their menu items in the 4 times I've been here and I'm NEVER disappointed. The servers are also very attentive and a pleasure to be served by. The restaurant itself is clean and gives me a vibe of a restaurant from my home country Honduras. 100% recommend the food, service, venue everything about this restaurant is great. Gracias a monica por el servicio en mi última visita

Visited this restaurant for my husband's birthday. It was a rainy Thursday, but for a Thursday, it was pretty busy. There is plenty of parking. We were able to secure a booth. My husband wanted a place that had a vibe. We liked that there was nice music playing. We were seated immediately, and the waitress brought us the menu. The menu has a lot of items to choose from. She did bring us some tortilla chips and salsa. The salsa was delicious. It had a habanero taste to it that we truly enjoyed. They had a special for the in-house margaritas. I ordered one and it was delicious. My husband had the micheladas, and it was delicious as well. I had the taco salad, which I enjoyed. The lettuce and the tomatoes were fresh, and the chicken was flavorful. My husband had the pork burrito, and he enjoyed the meal. Keep in mind that portions are big. We even took leftovers back home. My daughter had the calamari. They did taste a little chewy, but she liked the flavor. My other daughter had the baleada. She did not leave anything on the plate. We also ordered the churros. I was not a big fan of them. Overall, I would visit this restaurant again to try the seafood soup and tacos.

Came in yesterday for lunch and it was fairly empty. I decided to sit at the bar and chill. The inside is a decent size, and I'm sure they could accommodate a few large groups at once. I started off with the house margarita ($9.50), and Pollo Taco ($2.25). The margarita was OK at best, but the TACO was amazing. One of the best I've ever had. It was topped with onion, cilantro AND served with salsa verde and pico on the side. You honestly can't beat that for under $3. Homemade corn tortillas and you know I had to order some pupusas con curtido ($2.25) to go! BOMMMBB The service was great too! I typically take forever to order and the server was super patient and polite. I would gladly return. This place is a hidden gem.

This place has the best pupusas in town! We love coming here! We recently tried the Enchilada- it was really yummy. It can be it's own entree or a shared appetizer. Staff is very friendly and food/service is fast. Chips and salsa here are also wonderful! Music is a little bit loud here.

This place is Great. Papusas!!!! Super nice people, wonderful hospitality, price and portions were pretty good. There's a cooler full of beers and drafts from the snazzy bar. Green eyed Goddess. Love, love, loved the salsa. Rich smokey flavors from the roasted bits and baubles they do. Absolutely wonderful. Thin crispy chips. My three chorizo tacos were plump and delicious, generous. Dressed with onions, lime, cilantro, like street tacos, if you've ever done. It's about all you ever need unless your hangry for Americanized commercial ones garish with lettuce, sour cream, and cheeses. These aren't that. Papusas were some of the best I've ever had. Large ones too. Went with the loco one, but there's others. Cheese is usually the favorite. Accompanying cortido was fresh, crisp. Delicioso. Super busy, with a lot full of cars, said to me people Love this place. And they're right.

So this is a little bit of everything. It's Salvadorian, Mexican, Honduran. It is a popular place because it was busy when we went, but we were seated promptly. Our lovely waitress brought us some chips and salsa. The salsa was one of the best I've had. It was very fresh and had a smokiness to it. I ordered pupusas with a side of rice & beans. They have an open kitchen, so you see everything. Anyways, the pupusas were great. I ordered 2 and really only ate one. They were big. The pickled cabbage that goes with it was extra crispy. I liked that it gave the pupusas some cruchiness. Service was awesome. I had a great experience. 5 stars.

    Overcharged for a double order
    Rachel P.

We asked for 2 orders of steak fajitas (menu price at $14.50 each). The waitress said I can get you a double order. I thought, that sounds fine, what difference does it make? We also had one order of chicken fajitas at the table. When our order arrived the steak order definitely had more quantity, but it seemed right - about double what the chicken fajita plate had. When she brought us the check they had charged us $60 for the steak order! We could have ordered 4 orders of steak fajitas at that price. What we received was definitely not equivalent of 4 orders of steak fajitas! When we complained they took the $10 off the price. We definitely won't be going back here which is sad because the food was pretty good.

    Chimichanga
    N. S.

Bottom line upfront- dinner was excellent the price what about what you expect for the area... but quality and value out it on point. I would recommend can you try this place out if you'd like authentic Mexican! The overall service was on point and the waitress was able to answer some very in-depth questions about the menu and drinks. She always had a refill ready as our drinks ran low. The food was flavorful and very good. We tried several types of the tacos and the chimichanga pictured in this review. The menu descriptions missed some key elements so that was a little frustrating when the food came out....lots of onions. This was my only real negative critique. Maybe we should have expected that but didn't think to ask. The return to was clean and had several considerations for COVID. Overall you spend what you would expect anywhere in this area. But the quality and perceived value exceeded our expectations. We will return!

We drove out of our way to try this place and honestly it was a bit confusing to figure out where to order. There are two lines and it's not very clear which one we are supposed to get in for what. Especially because some of the items are duplicate on both menus. I noticed there was barely anyone in the "restaurant" line. Anyway, we sort of got a little bit of everything and wasn't completely brown away. I liked that they let you add your own toppings, and all of the sauces that have available were great. But the taco meats all sort of lacked a bit of flavor. Carnitas are my favorite but these were a bit inconsistent. Some pieces were very nice and juicy where others were hard to chew. I will say the place is very clean and spacious. They're pretty quick with your order as well. The food was lacking flavor for me personally. Overall, I don't think I would go back.

The flavors are bold, authentic, and made with what clearly feels like actual care and love going into every dish. It's the kind of food that makes you stop mid-bite just to appreciate what's happening. And the prices? Beyond reasonable. You are getting so much food and flavor for what you pay -- it never feels like a splurge even when you go all out on the order. The cost was usually $10.99 each, thru the app at least - you know how they like to mark things up in the delivery apps.... I also ordered a side of sour cream, which at $3.50 per serving is ridiculously expensive... You can buy a whole container at the store for that! For $3.50 I would usually get a whole side of something (corn, fries, onion rings, etc) at a restaurant..... The empanadas were pretty good. It was flavorful and seasoned well.. it was slightly spicy, at just the right amount, not over powering... glad I had some sour cream handy! The portions were good and reasonable. However, $3.50 for such a small container of sour cream is a bit absurd. Should be $1, or $1.50. Not sure what the yellow sauce was that came with the empanadas, but it smelled decent and didn't have any strong scents or flavors to identify it. I found the meal to be very enjoyable! I would order again.

This item listed a variety of meats and side dishes to be served for 3 people. For starters the side dishes were served on individual plates as you would receive a standard side of rice and beans. So only two plates were served because there were two of us but we paid for a dish that serves 3. At the $80+ price tag we expected leftovers. The amount of guacamole each of us got was less than Chipotle gives you on a bowl. For the price point I am expecting an appetizers worth of guacamole. Because if I were to add up the cost of the individual items on the menu that made up the parrillada familiar I don't see how I got any value here. Additionally for a dish that included ribs as one of the meats to serve for three people, we literally got 3 ribs... Just between my gf and I we almost finished everything on the plate. Which again is suspicious for a dish that is supposed to serve 3 people. None of the meats were really stand out. To be clear the food wasn't bad but it was definitely not the best I had ever had and for what they charge I admit I was curious if they were able to back it up since similar dishes elsewhere are a fraction of the price. To top it off they charge an addition fee for paying with a card for a meal that ended up being over $90 before the tip. And they do not offer free water in a cup, we were forced to buy and drink from plastic bottles. The server was nice and attentive but the atmosphere was incredibly loud based just on the volume of the music, not even the other guests. There is definitely a lot to improve on here. It may be worth checking it out if you are having drinks is at the bar which is where most other patrons were sitting, but for food especially for value Manassas alone has so many other options to try.
