    Fajitas

Still love this place. Very friendly people. Fast service. And delicious good homely food. Steak fajitas are scrumptious, the whole fried tilapia is perfectly fried and crispy but fluffy. Light but still pretty decent sides. I love their refried beans and Guac. I haven't ordered a bad thing here yet.

    Plantain, overcooked. Couldn't eat it.

Chicken was okay, not the best I've tried and it isn't my first time at this restaurant. Plantains were overcooked, burned and it's an expensive side. I ordered white rice and got yellow rice instead, not good. I was hoping for a good, tasty dinner at home and Mi Casita Restaurant killed it. I DO NOT recommend Mi Casita as of today Wednesday, January 11, 2023. Cashier wasn't very nice either, didn't feel welcome.

Excellent Mexican fare. I had dinner here this evening. BUT - once again - as with other Mexican/Latin America restaurants in the Manassas area - communications issues marred the overall experience. My waitress was not fluent in English - she did know some. She was friendly and smiling the whole time. I was trying to get her to tell me how big their plate of Nachos was - she did not understand what I was attempting to ask. I was trying to figure out if the Nachos would be a meal alone - or did I also need to order an additional menu item? So I rolled the dice, ordered the Nachos with ground beef AND a Beef Burrito, plus a Diet Coke. While I was waiting, she brought me out a basket of chips and salsa. The salsa was not anything to write home about - I added some hot sauce to it to kick it up a notch. When the Nachos came out - visually - they were appealing. And from a taste-perspective - they were excellent. Meaty, just the right amount of melted jack cheese, chopped onions, jalapenos, sour cream, and guacamole. A solid, robust, tasty plate of Nachos. And I added more hot sauce to the Nachos. Then she brought me my check. I asked what happened to my Burrito? She clearly did not understand that I had wanted to order both. At that point, I decided I was close to full from just the Nachos - so I thanked her and paid the bill - $8.00 and change for the meal. I tipped her $1.60. Food was excellent, despite the communication issue, I would definitely eat here again. Next time I will not be denied my Burrito!

The service was very slow. Even to get the drinks. We were seated fast but it was slow to get. The food was good and worth the wait. But I will try again and see if will update.

LOVE Mi Casita! My family has been savoring their food for years now. My husband, who is from Los Angeles and San Antonio, TX is all too familiar with authentic Hispanic food but upon moving to Northern Virginia was saddened to see a lack of good places. Then I took him here... The prices are super fair, the food is always fresh and delicious! They have a large variety of drinks and the atmosphere is chill. The servers are always sweet and happy to help you, even if you don't speak Spanish perfectly... (still learning). They JUST opened up a taco truck at the intersection of Gum Springs and 234 and you must go try it! They cook everything fresh, when you place an order. They have a nice shady spot to eat there if you'd like. On a beautiful, sunny day it's a great place to catch a bite. We highly recommend! They will be adding more variety to the truck as it grows in popularity. Please check it out! We'll definitely be going back.

Our history: Been coming to Mi Casita off-on over the years....everything here is fantastic! You'll be happy. :) Recommendations: For soup lovers, try the Consome De Camaron Con Huevos(English translation: Shrimp soup with eggs). How Mi Casita's soup differs from other businesses I've dined at? Something buttery in the broth, which I think marries well with the shrimp/eggs/vegetables; the competition uses a sweetener(e.g. Coconut milk)---which I'm not a fan of in my soup! If no other customers were around? Forget the spoon! I'd sip it up from the bowl. Owners: Norma and Lucio are sweet, down-to-earth and hard-working people. Any language barriers with the waitresses? None. While my Spanish is ok(always room for improvement), the Staff's English is fair/good. Do you like fruit shakes? From my understanding, Mi Casita uses fruit from exotic locales and is said to be a health godsend, such as helping to reduce weight/high blood pressure. Mi Casita expanding? They're mobile!! Painted in elegant blue/red colors, Mi Casita has a grill truck; however, I'm not sure as to when/where the truck operates. Contact the restaurant for further details.

Decided to check this out after seeing this place for years and reading the great reviews. We ordered chicken enchiladas and a chicken taco salad. There were a number of people in the restaurant when we arrived. We were seated and taken care of almost immediately. Our drinks came out as well as chips and home made salsa. The salsa was good but a bit watered down. The chips were great. That said, we waited thirty minutes for our food to arrive. The chicken enchiladas were absolutely delicious and hands down the best I've had in Manassas. The house sauce on them mixed with the chicken made for a very enjoyable meal. The rice was typical and more of a flavored yellow rice. The taco salad was good too (7 out of 10) and there was a lot of chicken! After driving past this place for years I'm happy we finally stopped and look forward to coming back again soon.

Nachos were delicious...i got it to go tgen got sturck in traffic...i will get my chips on the side unless I eat in. The nachos with shredded chicken instead of chucks was a pleasant surprise.

That combo is rare and I refuse to take it for granted. The food is just incredible across the board. And I mean ALL of it. I have yet to order something that didn't completely deliver. The flavors are bold, authentic, and made with what clearly feels like actual care and love going into every dish. It's the kind of food that makes you stop mid-bite just to appreciate what's happening. And the prices? Beyond reasonable. You are getting so much food and flavor for what you pay -- it never feels like a splurge even when you go all out on the order. I find myself coming back any chance I get and honestly the hardest part of the visit is just deciding what to get because everything is that good. It's become one of those non-negotiable spots for me -- the kind of place I'll drive for and never think twice about. If you're in the Manassas area and you haven't been to La Jarochita yet, fix that immediately. You will not regret it, you will not leave hungry, and your wallet will thank you.

We drove out of our way to try this place and honestly it was a bit confusing to figure out where to order. There are two lines and it's not very clear which one we are supposed to get in for what. Especially because some of the items are duplicate on both menus. I noticed there was barely anyone in the "restaurant" line. Anyway, we sort of got a little bit of everything and wasn't completely brown away. I liked that they let you add your own toppings, and all of the sauces that have available were great. But the taco meats all sort of lacked a bit of flavor. Carnitas are my favorite but these were a bit inconsistent. Some pieces were very nice and juicy where others were hard to chew. I will say the place is very clean and spacious. They're pretty quick with your order as well. The food was lacking flavor for me personally. Overall, I don't think I would go back.

They had a sidewalk sign advertising their specials so my curiosity got me. They chip & salsa you at the outset, the chips were fresh, warm and tasty...the salsa meeh. I was impressed at the size of this place. Enough room for several pool tables and it appears that for the weekend, they can turn this place from restaurant/game room/bar to 'club'. I tried a couple of chicken tacos and was pleased. You have a choice of soft flour tortillas or had corn. The chicken was generous and tasty. I really like that they briing the cheese, tomatoes, cilantro and fresh lime on a side plate. I was disappointed with the salsa, it was was void of any real flavor. It was more like tomoato soup with tabasco sauce in it. They have a very good menu with a good selection of seafood, beef, chicken & pork. In El Salvador, desayuno típico is made up of eggs, crema, chorizo, beans, plátanos, cheese, and tortillas. However, at el Espino (a self-described Salvadoran restaurant) desayuno is eggs, beans, plantains, avocado, hard cheese, rice, and tortillas. As a pregnant woman dying for a typical Salvadoran breakfast, this place missed the mark, especially for $23 (2 breakfasts and 2 beverages). Like I said the service is great, the waitresses are very nice and quick. The (breakfast) food is just overpriced and not authentic or typical to Salvi cuisine. I've been to El Salvador enough times to have high standards for desayuno típico.

It was the standard white queso that I commonly associate with the Midwest because for the longest I couldn't get it on the East Coast, but it's not queso fundido. They offer Coke from a fountain, which is a huge plus. And the salsa was really good. The chips and salsa were free, so they absolutely get bonus points for that.
