Stephen was a gracious server / bartender to our wee little party of 3. The beers were cold and the Cadillac Margarita was decent. The Rueben and bbq wings were raved about (especially the bbq sauce ... it was legendary)! Unfortunately, the salmon bites and the pork belly deviled egg appetizers were soooo salty and just not edible. Also $15 was diabolical for the portion size of the salmon bites. (Pic attached) I've paid that for a full bourbon glazed salmon meal with rice and veggies. Not a deal breaker. Would most def return to try other app / entree / summer cocktail options. The Monte Cristo was flavorful and so big that she could only eat half along with the sweet potato fries that came with it. For dessert, my wife had ice cream, and I had their cheesecake. The cheesecake was as good as any I have tasted. I strongly suggest that you make your way to old town, Manassas and visit Crossroads often. There are nightly game nights and other events that will surely make this a place that I will return to time and time again.

That's not an exaggeration. It factors into where I stay. My order basically never changes. Cheesesteak, fries, a beer, and a bourbon or an Irish whiskey depending on the mood. I've had it enough times now that I'd notice if anything slipped, and it hasn't. The vibe is a big part of why I keep coming back. It's never so packed that you can't hear yourself, and there's a clear crew of regulars who are obviously here all the time. That's usually a good sign about a place, and it is here. But the food is the reason. It's to die for. I'll keep coming back as many times as humanly possible whenever work puts me in the area.

They are our favorite restaurants in Northern Virginia. The menu varies a little from one restaurant to the next, but every restaurant has a relatively broad menu from salads to sandwiches to chicken and seafood and steak entrees. All are prepared fresh and to your liking. If you ever have a meal that isn't perfect, let your server know and they will fix it. Some of the favorite meals we consistently order are chop house salad, Caesar salad, crab cakes, blackened prime rib, chicken and salmon. The prices are getting a little higher, but the value is still very good for the quality and quantity of food provided. Sweetwater Tavern is a little bit noisier and more upbeat than some of the other GAR restaurants. Most have outdoor dining options.

The apathetic service, the $7.50 Stella longnecks, their nasty steak sauce (ask for A-1, not the house crap) and the upcharges for a tablespoon of blue cheese crumbles for a salad or a baked potato with anything more than butter makes this chain a HARD pass.

Wife and I sat at the Chef's Counter for a truly wonderful meal last night. The menu is exceptional, five courses, several with two options, and the progression was just perfect. We really loved all of the dishes, but for sure the ravioli with wild asparagus and ramps is one I will remember for a long time. The octopus was also a memorable dish, and the poussin was complex, layer after layer of flavor and the salt level was so good...just perfect food, perfectly executed. Oh, and shout out to the owner's dad, who is in his 90s and makes the bread, a rich sourdough, served warm, that has a 50 year old starter at its essence. Yum. We did the wine pairings and I def recommend. Some really good wines, curated from small vineyards globally, matched perfectly and well presented. The sommelier nailed it. We also just loved the service. Nice touches pre arrival, they are expecting you when you arrive and there's a lovely personal touch and welcoming feel. The ambience is warm, and you can hear and talk and it does feel like you're at a dinner party with friends and family. Finally, shout out to the chefs and servers. Knowledgable, conversational, and charming. We really enjoyed the Chef's Counter and the entire experience. Kudos to Chef Jon Krinn and his family for creating this masterpiece of a restaurant. I mean, honestly, the meal was exquisite and so perfectly executed. Each dish is crafted with a passion and care for food that absolutely shines. I mean the Foie Gras (sp??) - I don't even really like the stuff, put the way they sauteed it, put it on top of some sort of savory cake and slathered it with this balsamic gastrique - it was like bacon and pancakes smothered in maple syrup just amplified to 100. Bottom line: I would eat this every day (and amplify my weight by 100 too). The snow crab, I don't know if it's the care in selecting the product or the techniques used to prepare it (probably both ), but they packed so much crab flavor into that dish! And the dark chocolate cheesecake, it was magic that can make something so dark, so bold, so rich feel so light when you are eating it.
