Staff was very friendly and attentive. We tried the nachos- huge portion and very good!! Garnachas were a bit small and dry tasting but overall were good. Will definitely come back, want to try more things on the menu!

Lunch today was something new - I had no idea what cuisine Cuna Del Sol was - but I was ready for a new culinary experience! When I walked in for a late lunch - the first response ringing through my brain was "jackpot!" I was the only Caucasian person in the joint. Everyone else was some flavor or Hispanic/Latino. Which is usually an indicator that the local ethnic population thinks the food is pretty good. Cuna Del Sol it turns out - is a Guatemalan restaurant. I sat down and scanned the menu - the first item I wanted to try - the "Tortitas De Carne" - they were out of for the day. So I explained to my waitress Mary - that I had never had Guatemalan cuisine - and that I wanted to select something off the menu that was closer to authentic (they had some American and Mexican offerings on the menu and I did not want to pick one of those). So Mary recommended I try the "Plato Tipico": 2 tacos, 2 pastelitos de papa, 2 garnachas, 1 chile relleno, served with refried beans, salad, and fresh homemade cheese. And I added a glass of water with a wedge of lime and a Corona with a wedge of lime. First Mary brought out a very small basket of chips and a side of salsa. However, I was not phased by the relative paucity of chips as I did not want to fill up on chips. I ate the quantity that was brought to me - but I did add a good bit of the red hot sauce that was on the table to the salsa - the salsa was relatively bland. My food came out and it all looked pretty yummy. I knew there was no way I was going to be able to eat the whole thing - it was a good bit of food. I ended up eating one taco, one pastelitos de papa, and one garnacha, plus the Chile relleno, the cole slaw, and part of the pickled cabbage side they brought me. Food was all good - particularly the Chile relleno, nothing to spicy - I added hot sauce to everything after tasting each item. Meal was $10.95 without the beer. I would definitely come back here again!

Cuna Del Sol: Crib of the Sun? Really?...Really?? Not a 'staring' experience for lunch today. I had read several reviews and almost went here a time or two since moving to Manassas. Not a very good lunch experience but I'm not going to slam them too bad because my server, Sayra was very nice. I wanted some Sopa De Pollo, it's on the menu but this entree comes with chicken on the side. I just wanted the soup & Sayra said it would be no problem. It came with chicken livers, not a single bit of real chicken meat. The broth was tasty, there were lots of potatoes & carrots and flavored with cilantro. I ordered the Tacos Del Sol. Never have I had tacos like this. They looked more like enchiladas. There was no way to pick them up. WTF? Tacos you eat with a fork...please!!! The chicken was all dark meat...C'mon man! The tortillas were supposed to be flour but they had a mushy & mealy texture and flavor. I basically just ate the chicken. It came with rice, guacamole & lettuce on the plate. The guacamole was fresh and flavorful, that's the best I can say about their 'tacos'. I also ordered sweet tea, it was clear that it wasn't fresh brewed, in fact it was more like tea syrup and not very good. The soup was $10 bucks and the tacos were another $10. Not really what I expected for that kind of money.... $22 bucks... Whiskey Tango Foxtrot!!! I sat at the bar so I could watch the Rose Bowl Parade on their HD TV. It was fun. it was festive, lot's of color...mostly red. Then somebody turned on the house sound system... spanish radio playing Christmas music. Felize Nuevo Ano Amigos! Change the calendar...right...the Mayan one. I doubt I will try this place again as there are way too many other options in this town.

    Chile relleno with hair

Even if I knew that Cuna del sol is pricey we go there often, so last night we went and I order chiles rellenos to go and to my disgusting surprise this morning when I was about to enjoy my chiles I found a hair inside also was burn parts sooo disappointed and 4 dollars each

Bakery: I was in a time pinch and Cuna had the perfect cake for me! The manager greeted me nicely and the employee was so helpful. The tres leches cake was delicious!

    Tres leches birthday cake.

5 stars only for the bakery side. I've bought baked goods here before and I've been pleased with all the products all for a good price. A few days ago I bought a birthday cake from there and I was very surprised to find the price, usually tres leches cakes are pricey, the young lady who assisted me was very attentive and was taking all precautions against Covid. I loved her customer service skills. From now on I will only buy my birthday cakes from here. Unfortunately I can't say the same thing from the restaurant side, the food is not bad but you have to wait a while for the food to arrive and sometimes the service is rude.

One…read morething I wasn't a fan of was the graffiti on the doors and walls - It just feels like vandalism that the owners didn't care to clean up! Not sure if this is part of the chain's aesthetic, and if it's like this at every location or not... It was even in the bathroom, and clearly people took it too far, because next to the only urinal was a giant "F*** YOU", and it was crossed out by one big line, and not at all removed or attempted to be removed. To me it just seems too chaotic and encourages deviant behavior... This is not somewhere that I would bring my kids or family members, because of stuff like that. The food was ready when I got there, but I still had to stand around for a few minutes before someone finally came along and handed my order to me. I got the Catfish Basket with onion rings. It was about $16. I took the meal home and surprisingly the food was still piping hot when I sat down to eat it. The fish was excellent. There is the comment being made that the food is 'greasy', but I mean, it's fish - and it's fried... what do you expect? ...So, yes, the food was greasy, but that's part of the joy to it. If you want to eat healthy, go to Wegmans or Kroger. The fish was excellent. The breading was crunchy. The fish was soft and tender. No odor. Great seasoning - not too much, not too little. Not spicy at all (trust me, I'd be the first to tell you!) The onion rings were a bit on the less crispy side, not quite soggy, but still delicious none the less. The inner breading was just a bit spongy. They aren't like Outback's fried to a crisp onion rings/petals. The bag contained two moist towelettes and a pair of food grade disposable gloves, for those who indulge in the messiest of foods from here - not for simple fish. Also, when at the counter they wanted to know if I wanted any sauces. I did not, but I appreciated the gesture. I was happy with my service here and with the food overall. The restaurants appeal and decor gets a 5/10, because while the decor was nice and the wood facade of the furniture and structure were great, they were caked in a myriad of profanity and anarchy, as mentioned before about the graffiti-like markings. The food gets a 9/10, while it did have minor issues, it was overall an amazing lunch! The staff gets a 9.5/10 as well - While I was acknowledge once by a passing staff member running food to a table, I still had to wait a little while to be serviced, at the busiest time of day. I appreciate their time and efforts.

I had no idea that they offered a small bowl of complementary ceviche, which is actually really good. Like, so good, that I'm going to have to go back just to get that. The queso was also good. It was the standard white queso that I commonly associate with the Midwest because for the longest I couldn't get it on the East Coast, but it's not queso fundido. They offer Coke from a fountain, which is a huge plus. And the salsa was really good. The chips and salsa were free, so they absolutely get bonus points for that. It was a random Saturday evening when I came in, and they were setting up for what looked like live music and a fun night. The service was really good and parking was easy since it's in a plaza. I would highly recommend this place. They were fast and super sweet.

I had the Cedar Plank Salmon, which was moist and well complimented by the red pepper coulis. My wife ordered the Cilantro Lime Roasted Grouper. The lime from the compound butter was fantastic, though if I were to criticize there was too much jasmine rice. The carrots were also amazing. We started with the excellent clam chowder. It's a little thinner than a traditional New England chowder, but much more flavorful. We saved room for dessert and loved the key lime pie. We had our eyes on the pumpkin bread pudding, but they had unfortunately run out (maybe next time!). A huge shoutout to our bartender, Jesica. She whipped up an Old Fashioned based specifically on my flavor profile requests, and it was spot on. She made excellent recommendations throughout our meal, as well. Service at the bar was really fantastic. The only downside to the evening was our seating; we were at the bar right by the door. It got a little drafty and we caught some cigarette smoke whenever the door opened. Not a dealbreaker, but we'll definitely look to sit further inside next time. We will be back!"

It'd be great to add beer to the menu, my guess is they're waiting on the ABC license (there appears to be a bar ready to be stocked!). If you've never had Sri Lankan before, the staff is friendly and willing to field questions and give recommendations. It's always a little hard to describe Sri Lankan food -- but after growing up in Southeast Asia and spending time in India, I describe it as the missing link between the two -- which geographically makes sense! More coconut than Indian, and different spice combos than Indonesian/Thai. It's incredible unique and super tasty! Their menu also has pretty lengthy descriptions, which help you decide. I also loved the Sri Lankan pride on display -- cards on the table with different explanations of locations, etc; placemats with photos of its amazing nature and a TV playing scenes of the greatest hits of Sri Lankan tourism.
