This place is a Gem. Their customer service may not be that great but they are kind, friendly if they want to be lol but get your order correct and serve you right. The Ambiance is pretty basic with table n chairs and somewhat Nica themed. Food is excellent. One of the best and only Nicaraguan place in the area known to us. Their food never disappoints and kids, adults everyone loves it. We have been going there for a long time now and always love their food. So far have tried almost everything on the menu and it has been delicious. Only thing is it does get a bit smokey in the place, I am not sure if their kitchen hood fan is strong or not turned on at times. Definitely do recommend it 100%.

It's been a long time since I have enjoyed a really good and fresh Nicaraguan food. I'm Nicaraguan and visiting from Massachusetts. This food is really good with the taste of my country. I'm very glad I decided to visit beside the bad reviews. Food and tastes is what matter the most. The lady was very nice as well!!!

Ordered beef rolls and chicken dish . Both dishes tasted great . 1 star off as there was no one at restaurant who speaks English so missed opportunity to try any authentic dish I would have tried per their recommendation.

Sopa de gallina con albóndiga, tajadas con queso, carne en baho.

As soon as I entered this place I felt like I was back home. I have gone to this restaurant multiple times, and I have tried almost everything in the menu. My thoughts as a Nicaraguan: The sopa de gallina con albóndigas tastes like a dream. The quesillo is as good as the ones you would get in Nagarote or La Paz Centro, es riquísimo. I love Tajadas con queso, and this ones didn't disappoint. Gallopinto is good too. If you want to get one that is super rico, go at night, I found that that is when it tastes better. I think this place has bad reviews because people are acostumed to a different kind of service, and food. But I can tell you that this place is a true Nicaraguan experience. Back home it is OK to go order at the counter, and the culture is more layed back so the service is different. This restaurant is Nicaraguan approved.

Latin restaurants can be a hit or miss, especially the small ones you typically find in suburban neighborhoods. For anyone saying negative things about service, this is an authentic small restaurant. If you have done any traveling to restaurants in third world countries, you will know they don't kiss your a$$. They know they have good food to offer and asking you questions from behind a counter is actually very normal/ authentic. If you want some damn good food and have ever been to Nicaragua where the kicked back life is breezy, go here. Eda's took on the challenge to be the ONLY Nicaraguan restuarant in the D.C., MD, VA area, and they NAILED the dishes. My dad (a huge foodie like me) is quick to turn his nose up and say mehh but our family noticed the attention to detail and authentic ingredients used in these dishes. Leave your pretentiousness at home.

First time here. We were looking for a place to have lunch and out of curiosity, we decided to give…read morethem a try. And, oh boy, we were so grateful we did. The place is super clean. Spotless, including the bathrooms. The service was excellent. José was very nice and helpful. A well educated young man. The food! Well, food tasted like homemade food. Serving was huge and the food had an explosion of flavors. The meat was tender and juicy, the chicken was seasoned so well that it didn't taste like chicken. It was so good and it wasn't dry. Shrimp was also delicious. We will come back.

So the service was pretty good. The young ladies were delightful and checked on us often. And I…read morewanted to like other things, but I just couldn't. The decor is interesting. Like an old school cafeteria or something. Not the worst but not terrible. The music is also interesting. Not exactly my cup of tea, but fine. However a 5 minute break from music to talk about random stuff was less pleasant. But what about the food? The food is legitimately not good. Even great service can't make up for bad food. We started with spinach artichoke dip that was flavorless beyond the massive slab of cheese on top. The rest of it was so runny you couldn't even get it onto a chip. My wife's bean soup was ok, other than it had beef stock in it when they initially said it didn't. My pork was edible. Just. It was massively overcooked and too salty, but it wasn't so off putting as to be inedible. But the refried beans were among the worst I've had. I say among the worse in case I can't remember worse. But I can't remember worse. The beans were so dry they would break into clumps when trying to eat them. And the flavor wasn't great on top of that. One other note -- among the stranger menus I've seen. I probably should have checked more carefully before giving this place a try.

This place is busy for a reason!! Super unassuming from the outside but is gold on the inside…read more They have both the taqueria and a large bakery section. Love the traditional Al pastor they keep on display, as well as all of their agua frescas and horchata. We got a horchata, bean and cheese pupusa, and an assortment of tacos - carne, chorizo, pollo, and carnitas. All fantastic. Will be back to try everything. We were worried its cash only but they do take card & Apple Pay.

I'll be honest, I was completely intimidated when I first walked in because nothing was written in…read moreEnglish and I didn't want to make a fool of myself. Luckily I've had the pleasure of eating lots of tacos so at least understood the menu. I found out when you order from the register on the right (where it says Taquiza), you can only order tacos. All other items like tortas, enchiladas, etc are ordered from the register on the left side. Might be obvious to everyone roses but They announce your number in Spanish only so you need to be prepared. You pick up on the side of the dining tables. The condiment/salsa bar is delicious and I love how you can customize what you want. If you like tripa, you're going to celebrate. Best tripa tacos I've ever had. Lengua was also good. Unexpectedly, the al pastor wasn't my favorite.

La Jarochita Restaurant - They have an entire concha wall which is always an indication of good things to come. I had lunch here and their food was spot on.

I used to live in Manassas Park and still have occasion to visit…read more I've been in El Espino a handful of times and the food and service has always been very good. Their English is marginal/adequate, but I had no problems with my English and Spanish I learned in school years ago. They have never been busy in week day mid-afternoons, a few guys at the bar and American Spanish channels on the TV. My favorite is the Pollo Encebollado. I love onion,s and they pile them high on the chicken breast, with a bed of rice and cooked in a citrus sauce from orange juice, but also with a taste of lime. I've also had their shrimp dish which was also good. Al meals come with an appetizer of chips & salsa, and sides of refried beans and a salad with no dressing. Entrees top out around $10-12. I don't get to El Espino often, but I look forward to it.

They had a sidewalk sign advertising their specials so my curiosity got me. They chip & salsa you at the outset, the chips were fresh, warm and tasty...the salsa meeh. I was impressed at the size of this place. Enough room for several pool tables and it appears that for the weekend, they can turn this place from restaurant/game room/bar to 'club'. I tried a couple of chicken tacos and was pleased. You have a choice of soft flour tortillas or had corn. The chicken was generous and tasty. I really like that they briing the cheese, tomatoes, cilantro and fresh lime on a side plate. I was disappointed with the salsa, it was was void of any real flavor. It was more like tomoato soup with tabasco sauce in it. They have a very good menu with a good selection of seafood, beef, chicken & pork. I'll be going back to try some other menu items...also interested to try their sopa de polo.
