I ordered the Texas fajitas, a chicken enchilada, a cheese enchilada, and a large house margarita on the rocks with a salted rim. The fajitas were outstanding. Steak, chicken, and shrimp each need different cooking times, and all three were cooked beautifully. Too many places overcook the chicken or shrimp--not here. They came with rice, beans, guacamole, lettuce, and sour cream. Both enchiladas were equally impressive. The chicken was moist and tender, with a sauce that had just the right hint of smokiness. The cheese enchilada was velvety and soft, without any hardened cheese. Even the sides deserved attention. The rice was moist, without a dry kernel in the mix. The beans tasted homemade, with a little pepper flavor that made them more interesting than the usual restaurant beans. Loved them. The only letdown was the house margarita, which didn't quite rise to the level of the food. That doesn't change my rating: an easy five stars. My total was $55 before tip. All were great! (Well, except the carne asada - this came out a bit dry and under-seasoned). Next time I go, I'll probably get the beef birria tacos again. The dipping broth is great. The third time I went, they were out of the al pastor pork. This is my one complaint: while they have a decent variety of proteins, they do not have either barbacoa or carnitas. The beef in the birria tacos is probably the match here for barbacoa, but I'd like that option without the broth and at the regular price. The two fellows that work the counter are very nice and helpful with the menu. I overheard one of them talking to another customer and he mentioned his father bought the place a few years ago. The customer said this lot used to be an old gas station in the 1980s and that there used to be a post office here, too. The parking might be tough during rush hour -- there's a handicapped spot right out front, and about 5 diagonal spots on the old auto garage side (these would be a pain to back out of if all filled).
