Stopped in as an Uber Eats driver, remained for the food n service! Total hidden gem! Highly recommended

Cute little supermarket with Mexican food inside. Food was overall good. A little on the salty side and wish they gave sour cream on the side, but overall it hit the spot. read more

Two words: Birria Tacos!!! Just like many people are saying, the birria tacos are the way to go! Good amount of filling and a LOT of consomé. Even with the three birria tacos, we had a lot extra that we saved to use for future cooking use. We also had Al Pastor tacos which was a nice fresher balance to the saltier and flavorblasted Birria Tacos Ordering was quick and simple. Just like the name suggests there were some grocery items inside. I didn't look around too much but there were some teas and snacks. The vibe was pretty chill. When we went, a few people were eating at the row of tables. I think most people end up doing take-out though! Overall, a great quick bite to go to! read more

Two words...Birria Tacos! My meal was, hands down delicious! The customer service here is phenomenal, these ladies are very warm and loving. I drove quite the distance for these tacos. Second time here I had to bring a friend and she loved it. I also got sopes and choco flan which was good but the highlight were the tacos. Pretty quiet atmosphere so that was a plus. They have snacks, drinks and other market items in half of the store. I will definitely be back. read more

I had no idea Mex-Mart & Deli was a thing. I discovered it after snagging some caffeine from The Human Bean. After looking at their listing on Yelp - I saw someone had talked about a Chorizo Breakfast Burrito. So I went in and ordered a Chorizo Breakfast Burrito - which came with rice, cheese (and maybe beans). While I was waiting - I looked around - the place sells a variety of Mexican-themed food items, spices, and more. Some nice options for the home cook looking to prepare Mexican dishes at home. There are a number of tables to eat in. My burrito was made to order. I took it to go. The thing was fairly substantial - and dense! You could use the burrito as a weapon by throwing it at someone! The burrito was filling and delicious! Pro-Tip: Don't eat it in the car - I made a huge mess! I paid with Apple Pay, Service was good. #MexMartAndDeli read more

Happened to stop by on my way back to DC, searching for cilantro and I'm SO happy I did. I asked if they'd had cilantro for sale and they said no, but they kindly gave me a bunch of cilantro from their kitchen! Ordered a burrito and loved it! Delicious food and amazing service! Thank you! read more

The Birria tacos were very good. I've had them on 3 diff occasions. Tonight I also ordered fries and 2 Mexican cokes. The fries were $6 which is outrageous for the small container u get. And I got regular plastic bottle cokes not Mexican ones which are usually in a glass bottle and taste better. Idk, disappointed & I feel like I wasted money. read more

Incredible flavor, delicious tacos. It's my new spot. 5:30 Baseball at Byrnes with an order of tacos and pupusas is my new thing.

I'm so glad this spot still doing well. It's been a while since I had it. Delicious Mexican gem spot that more people need to try. I ask for Al pastor to be the protein of choice on my burrito. Something about the Al pastor from this place is that it's different from others and I like it. The tongue taco was the surprise bite of the night. I forgot how good it was. The sweet lady is still here as the owner. I remembered when this place first opened up. The hot sauce was delicious but a bit too spicy, I think they found the right balance now read more

Kept reading about how awesome this place was so I wanted to check it out for myself. It is a small Latin grocery store in Aldie that serves food in the back counter. There is minimal seating located inside and there are some picnic benches across the parking lot. We came during dinner so there was a bit of a wait with all the pickup orders they had. Food was delicious especially the Birria tacos. read more

Mex-Mart & Deli is a small Latin grocery store that also serves up hot food in the back - the mart has various types of chips and snacks, sweets, condiments, dried goods, cleaning products, as well as OTC medicine. The eatery in the back offers tortas, tacos, pupusas, quesadillas, and soups. We decided to come here for a later lunch, and we ordered: +steak tacos - the strips of steak were a little tough, but had okay flavor; tortillas were of a single rather than doubled-up +chicken tacos - wasn't a fan of this one, as it seemed like ground/minced chicken paste +shrimp tacos - nice char on the shrimp, but I think there could have been more seasoning or garlic to get rid of the slight fishy odor/taste of them +potato tacos - included sliced green bell peppers, these tasted more like breakfast potatoes that were more on the mushy side +birria - this comes as a set of 3; super cheesy, could have had a bit more of the birria; the consome was okay The red hot sauce that comes with is extremely spicy; those who are spice fiends would enjoy this! Definitely adds more flavor to the tacos. Staff were super welcoming, kind, and friendly! There are only 3 tables inside, but most seem to get their orders to go. Plenty of parking in the llot. +friendly service +plenty of parking read more

This place is great! My family is from Puebla MX and when we have a craving we go here

Whenever I'm in the mood for traditional-style tacos, Mex-Mart & Deli is my go-to spot. If you're seeking authentic Mexican cuisine, rather than Tex-Mex, this is the place to be. Don't expect to find any fancy food. It's a family store selling straight tacos and traditional food. While the atmosphere may not be glamorous, the food exudes the comforting essence of home-style cooking. This place is a gem in this area since there isn't a lot of selection for Mexican food. I would say that most people order to go since there isn't a lot of tables inside. One unique aspect of Mex-Mart & Deli is their selection of Mexican products available for purchase. It's a haven for anyone who enjoys recreating authentic Mexican dishes at home. From spices and sauces to imported ingredients, they have everything you need to elevate your own cooking adventures and bring the flavors of Mexico to your kitchen. Although Mex-Mart & Deli may not offer an opulent dining experience, it more than makes up for it with its genuine, home-cooked Mexican cuisine. Whether you're a Mexican food enthusiast or simply craving a taste of tradition, this humble establishment is sure to satisfy your cravings. read more

People raving about this place so needed to find out for myself Burrito was good size and my coworker said it was tasty Pupusas not great; just decent; other places have more filling and bigger size for the price Birria tacos came with 3 and small container of consommé; pretty small with little filling; very tasty though Beef head taco was very tender but again small; with only one layer of tortilla and little filling; didn't even have radish slices as in description So would I go back? Maybe if I'm not so hungry but there's many great tacos places closer that gives more for the price read more

The really nice lady running the Deli helped me decide on lunch. The seating area was nice and the kitchen was really clean. The steak tacos were delicious as was the rice and the beans. What is the fate of Aldie and South Riding residents... we usually have to travel between 30-55min to get to a decent foodie-worthy restaurant... I actually don't want to put this place on blast... so I can keep it to myself and not have long lines... but being a foodie... i need everyone to enjoy this place! It's the quintessential mom and pop shop... I want to get to know the owners and celebrate them! They have Birria queso tacos!!! The consume is rich and deep in flavor... there is nothing bland about these tacos! They also serve it alongside 2 different hot sauces... the green is mild and the pinkish sauce is the spicy! If you are lucky enough you can try their spicy guacamole! Make sure to ask for the onions and cilantro! Their chicken quesadilla is overflowing with chicken and I actually fed all 3 of my girls with one! The pupusas are also made fresh! It is perfect in that it is located inside a Mexican grocery store where you can get drinks, chips... even piñatas for your parties! Can't wait to come back to try their taco asada and all their other offerings! There is not indoor seating area... so it's call in and pick up only. But my family loved sitting at the small outdoor seating area (only 2 picnic tables and 2 benches) and eating them hot! Come check them out ASAP! read more

I LOOOOOVE this place! I haven't shopped around but you can't go wrong with the tacos. One of the best tacos in this end of the neighborhood! I HIGHLY recommend you try their food. The chicken isn't just grilled chicken. It's chicken tinga, which is a stewed chicken in tomato puree with seasonings. My other half always gets the steak tacos and if he goes back twice a week for them, you know they're that good! And each time he eats them he raves about how good they are! If you want to spice it up ask for the orange hot sauce! It's not too spicy if you love heat but it's the right amount for your tacos! The service is always great. The lady working the kitchen is always friendly and recommending things for me to try, since I don't eat anything but chicken. It doesn't take too long for your order to come out either! Call ahead so you don't need to wait! Or while you wait you can shop around to see what they have in store! Lots of goodies and dry herbs, peppers and spices! Try them out! You won't be disappointed! read more

So freaking good. We had birria tacos from a food truck before and they were bland and more bland. Tried to listen to the people of Yelp and try this place out. Ordered some birria tacos with cheese and the consume dip. Drove home and ate them up. Delicious!!! We used the leftover soup consume to pour on some rice too because it was so good and we didn't want to waste it. Also the staff was very friendly and answered any questions that I had about the menu. This will be my new go-to place for delicious tacos. Looking forward to trying other items off their menu!!! read more

Ever since moving from California to Virginia, I haven't found legitimate tacos that taste close to it - especially if you had a variety of tacos from SoCal. Nothing won't beat the actual tacos from Mexico, but the fact that the taste, and seasoning is just as good, all the way out here in VA; sold! It's not your typical American version style where you order food and sit down at a table inside. It's more like you order the food, sit outside, and tailgate type of style. Just like how everyone else does it back in SoCal. Only down side that I haven't found yet is that they dont seem to serve Horchata that I'm missing. Maybe they do and haven't realized it yet, but from the Menu so far seems more like they dont. Nonetheless, I think this place still deserves five stars. Will come again. :) read more

Birria tacos are very good as are the beef, chicken, and pork tacos! Everything is made fresh so you never have to worry about anything sitting under a heat lamp. Also nice place to purchase some authentic Mexican ingredients. Don't bother with anything other than the tacos from here since the torta cubano was not impressive nor was the salad with chicken (not pictured). The tacos are the only reason for the 4 star rating. read more
