This is my lunch go to. Each visit is better than the last. I love the chimichangas with the tinga shredded chicken. The food is so good I even eat the rice and beans (which I normally never do). It's always the same staff and they are so patient and helpful as I read over the menu each time asking random questions and still end up with the chimmis and the chips and salsa are fabulous, the chips are thin and warm while the salsa has flavor with the chopped up veggies. Heard about this place quite a few times and frequently pass by it on the way to Costco. Finally decided to grab some to go. Ordered ahead of time for a designated pick-up time. Birra tacos and burrito surpassed mmy expectation--they were damn delicious! Bye bye District Taco. I had a long run with you, but Taco Zocalo has bested you not only on flavor, but customer service. These people were so friendly, professional (order was fresh, hot, and ready when I arrived on-time), and all around great dispositions (plus, they liked my german shepherd waiting in the car and no, he didn't get even a crumb ) Needless to say I will be back again and again. Stopped here on a whim while in Chantilly and I'm so glad we did! After reviewing the menu and deciding on what to order, we were able to place the order quickly and easily. The employee was attentive and made sure everything was ordered correctly before finalizing. The downstairs seating area is cozy and the decor really adds to the ambiance. Our food came out quickly and everything looked great! The guacamole was perfect - Just the right amount of everything! The shrimp tacos and chicken quesadilla were delicious, too. Everything tasted so fresh! The sauces provided at the table complemented the food really well, I just wish they were labeled so we knew what they were. We had to taste each one because only the extra spicy was labeled. With that being said, I'll still be back to try more things because we enjoyed every single item this time. This place has officially been added to my go-to list when I'm in Chantilly again. read more

I was visiting King Spa and upon leaving wanted to find a place to grab some Mexican food, and this location came up on Yelp. I will say that this location was in the business area of the shopping center, and was a little hard to locate. Upon walking in, the decor was very bright and inviting, even though the restaurant was on the small size. There was a small section to allow you to eat outside, which was nice. You order and pay from a kiosk, which was convenient but not as user friendly as it could have been. I really enjoyed the tacos and the various sauces they offered at the table. I came for the Birria tacos but found out that they are only offered 2 days a week :( I hope that will change soon. Also, they have not obtained their liquor license to offer margaritas, so I would like to go back and visit once they do. read more

So delicious! My friends and I were hungry after going to the Udvar-Hazy Air and Space Museum near Dulles, and this came up on Yelp. We were a bit concerned when we pulled into what seemed like an industrial park, but once we got inside Taco Zocalo, it was awesome! Cute decor, clean, and with helpful staff. The highlights: Chips and salsa - the chips were perfect. Substantial and salty, and held up to the most delicious salsa. Get the salsa!!! Tacos - I got brisket and barbacoa. The brisket was good, the barbacoa was amazing. Get that one! These are a good size with a pile of toppings (that you can customize). The pico was super fresh, and everything tasted so good! Of the salsas that came alongside, the pineapple salsa was so good! I almost bought more chips just to eat the pineapple salsa. I also liked the red and green salsas - both excellent. Again, just wish I got more chips! I also got a side of refried beans, a hearty portion for the price. These were good but weren't my favorite - a tiny bit too crunchy. I am soooooo glad that one of my foodie friends recommended this place! I was sad that they offered Birria only in certain days of the week... But I got super lucky and Sunday is one of those days... am I glad that I got to eat the Birria tacos. It can out quick and everything was fresh and hot! The consume was filled with onions, cilantro and pieces of Birria. I love dipping the taco into it but I also drench the taco first... it's messy but glorious! Warning: *If you are a vegetarian I DO NOT recommend this place I found this place through tik tok and being a Mexican restaurant, I didn't have a lot of expectations. Reason being is that even though I love Mexican food I haven't found a place that stands out well. I am happy to say that this place is fire. I had the 3-taco platter and got 2 meat options and one veggie. The veggie was not good (It was just too bland even with the sauces) but the other 2 meat tacos were amazing and for the price we paid, I am not mad at all because unlike other place like Taco Bamba and Bar Taco the food portions match's the price. I walked in, and there was only one other customer there who had already ordered their food. I was not graded when I came in the employee who took my order act like he did not wanna be there. They did not ask me whether I wanted my order for there or to go because I didn't wanna eat there because I was having a moment to just relax before I got to traffic, they packed my order up, brought it to me. It says on the table and to go box even though I wanted to eat it there I had picked a spot and set up my stuff so clearly I'm eating there. I had to wait for the young man to notice me so that I could ask him to open my bottle. They started cleaning up the establishment like they were closing while I was there. They only customer left and they still had a good four hours before closing when I ask for the bathroom once again bad service the food was mid and the service was horrible. I tried 6 different meats, the beef was definitely better to me and I would stay away from the BBQ chicken, just had a weird flavor for a taco. Brisket was my favorite. Food is very good. We had tacos and elotes. We tried 3 of the 4 sauces, all of which were very good. Service is friendly, helpful, patient, and attentive. Tacos are regular size and generously filled. Elotes was so good, I ate the whole thing even though I was getting full. Drinks are cans or bottles. Order at the counter, and they bring your food to you. Make sure to say "yes" to the "hot sauce" so that you get the caddy of sauces to try. This is a really small place but there tacos are some of the best I've had. I got the chicken tinga, chorizo, and grilled chicken tacos. They were really good and the portion sizes are generous. I believe it was ~$12 for 3 tacos which is definitely filling for dinner. One suggestion if you like spicy food is to ask for the extra hot sauce. They give you 2 hot sauces when you pay and since I like spicy food, I found those 2 sauces flavorful and tangy but not spicy. We came after our long spa day, and found this cute colorful little taco spot. Service was nice and super fast. We got 6 taco to share: chicken, 2 barbecue brisket, beef Barbacoa, fish and shrimp. The shrimp taco has an extra $ sign next to it, but they didn't charge me extra (not sure why, is my lucky day:D) They gave us a tray of 4 sauces to eat with. All of them are fresh and hot! I had high hopes for this place. I ordered the chips and queso and three tacos - chicken tinga, steak and beef barbacoa. The chips and queso came out first. The chips tasted they came from a bag. They didn't seem restaurant made or fresh. The queso was a major disappointment. It was microwaved nacho cheese which had no taste and it wasn't hot. The queso definitely came from a can and was not made there. The tacos weren't all that great either. Although they were a decent size the meat in each one was cold and came out of a warmer. Only the Barbacoa had an taste the rest were underwhelming. I don't think I'll be visiting this place again. read more
