Wonderful food! We got two carne asada, 3 pupusas and a temal de gallina. The pupusa with frijoles, queso & chicharron was by far the favorite while pupusa with only bean was a bit dry and bland. The steaks were perfect! We would have preferred fresh lime with it- the ones we had were old and dry and had no juice but that was only a very minor thing. We've tried many local Latin places and still overall I think this is one of the best out of the ones closeby to Reston. I can't wait to try more of their menu.

Everything is fine price slightly high but not bad. Didn't purchased not even 30$ in food and was charged a automatic 15% tip. Was a party of 2 only. Todo está bien precio un poco elevado pero no está mal. No compré ni siquiera 30 $ en comida y me cobraron una propina automática del 15%. Eramos un grupo de sólo 2 personas.

The recent negative reviews about service but positive feedback on the food made me curious to try this place out for papusas. You don't come here for the ambiance or the atmosphere - you come here for good food and very, very reasonable prices. My chicken taco was amazingly good. My wife tried the authentic chicken tamale. The masa was very airy and the chicken was tender and tasty. I forgot to take pictures of the corn and rice flour revuelta papusas, but they did not disappoint. My favorite is still white corn. Yeah, this may be a run down former pizza joint, and the staff may not have perfect English, but they are nice, and the food speaks for itself. If they decide to close a little earlier than advertised, it's okay, let them close and take a rest.

I got the pupusas with Beans & Cheese (Frijoles & Queso) and it did not disappoint

The pupusas were fire, they're $3.75 each. However, I did feel the staff acted more like a loud gossiping friend group rather than a professional team. Also, if there was one thing I would add to the menu is the drink options. I give this place an 8.5 / 10 Loses one whole point for the cashier's bad attitude and the loud employees, loses half a point for not putting drinks on the menu Overall, really good food definitely will recommend this place

Here is the funny part. I probably will not be back. Despite the fact that the food is fabulous. I ordered a Lomo Saltado without the onion, and the dish tasted absolutely terrific. Their version is closer to a South American version rather than the Chinese version. The meat, vegetables, the French fries all tasted hot and fresh. Minus the rice, which tasted a little too dense, it is a big portion for a good price. I will never complain about getting too much food. I also ordered a Mango drink. It was really refreshing. Unfortunately, I knock the restaurant's star rating for two reasons. 1.) No tap water. The restaurant forced me to buy a drink, and I am pretty sure that refills are not free. I did not ask, but when I surveyed the customers it did not appear I could get more. If that is true, then that is a shame. 2.) I did not like the "country club" atmosphere. Look, I get it. A lot of the staff members speak English as a second language, so there is definitely a language barrier. But it is quite apparent with the customers. If you do not speak any Spanish, chances are you will not have a great experience and errors will be made. They also cater to their regulars, and I noticed that if you try to speak to them in English, it makes them uncomfortable. So I just stuck with Spanish (I speak enough to get by), and I was fine. In the future, I will stick with Waku Chicken. The menus are similar but I found the owners nicer and the experience more pleasant. Plus, free and unlimited water is certainly a perk.

Food still the centerpiece however sanitation maybe an issue. No social distancing. Kitchen staffs were not wearing any masks, patrons are allowed to dine without masks. Though I love mexi food I will skip this place for now till they adhere to the cdc and state established guidelines.

Stopped by here with my friend after the gym! We got some chicken and pork tacos, which were both delicious. Service was also extremely friendly and and the restaurant was clean/spotless.

HERNDON, VA 10/04/19 LUNCH +The food is excellent minus the big bags of Tostitos chips on the shelves in the food prep area. +They offer a variety of drinks. +The meat portions are huge. +They have various types of sauces. +The prices are super economical. -No loyalty rewards program. -The cleanliness can be questionable, at times throughout the day. -The food may not come out as quick. Overall, this is a good Salvadorian food spot in Herndon proper. Go check them out and give them some love!

My husband and I were craving pupusas and tamales and we stumbled across this restaurant in the herndon area only 10 minutes away from us. They have it all - we were pleased with our selections especially the tacos which were loaded with avocado and meat, portions were generous and plentiful I could barely close the taco! The chicken tamales were a decent size as well and larger in comparison to other places I've tried. They give you pickled carrots and cauliflower with your pupusas which is different from other places as I usually get a pickled cabbage slaw but I was not disappointed at all - just wished they gave more cauliflower - it was very refreshing!

Was in Herndon this evening, so decided to stay in the area for dinner. This place had good reviews, so I decided to give it a shot. At first, I thought the prices were a tad high. The decor didn't seem all that. The restaurant claims to have authentic Latin American food and it does it right. The tacos came out and surprised me with the portion size. It was scrumptious. I got the lengua and it hit the spot. I actually started to get full after that. I ordered the lomo saltado and it was huge! So well worth the price paid for it. And it was very delicious too. I could not finish it so I got the rest to go. The wife ordered the chimichanga and it was pretty good too. She said mine was better, of course. Overall, a good hole in the wall place offering authentic Mexican/El Salvadoran food. Check it out!

The meat options were also greatly appreciated by my friends who joined me at the restaurant. Ask for the in-house spicy salsa if you like a kick of spice. The prices are very reasonable for the generous portion sizes. The service is friendly, and the food arrived in a decent amount of time even when the restaurant was busy. I wasn't feeling up to the big chains and places I wanted to try seemed to close early. Luckily this place was open and I had been wanting to try it for a while. Definitely it let a hidden gem! There are some parking spots right in front, although not many. There is a decent amount of seating, but it would be tight if you had a large party. My partner did note that the bathrooms weren't that great. You immediately get served complementary chips and salsa. They were pretty basic, but not bad. We ordered the following: + Papusas (Pork and Cheese & Loroco and Cheese) - Decent, although I prefer the Loroco (an edible flower bud). + Pollo à la Primavera (chicken dish) - Yummy, especially the sauce which mixes well with their hot/spicy sauce too! I could do without the salad dressing. + Camarones con Calabeza (shrimp dish) - Same as above! Note they leave the tails on. + Natural Juices (Mango and Maranon) - So refreshing! I loved the Maranon (cashew apple) was a wonderful burst of tropical sweetness with a subtle nutty taste. I appreciate that for the pupusas they had the foresight to provide my partner and I two plates so we could sphere the papusas. The portion sizes of the entrees were great for the price. It did take a while for the staff to swing by so that we could get boxes and the check. Note that credit cards and mobile pay are accepted. I definitely wouldn't mind coming back again to try more items on their menu.
