There were a ton of take out customers while my friend and I were there. Given that this was the first time we had eaten Salvadorean food it was clear to me to order pupusas and they did not disappoint. 5/5. Warm, fresh tasting, not soggy, great texture. The main reason why I took the review down to a 4 is because it was somewhat hard to find the server after our food was delivered. Glasses of water weren't refilled.

The chimichangas were not what I expected. I expected more of a fried burrito, but instead I got what felt like enchiladas smothered in cheese sauce. The sides were good. The service was rough, as one of our group's orders was not made. Luckily, we just decided to split amongst ourselves. The restaurant itself has a nice ambiance. The food isn't to die for, but if you're craving Mexican food in the area it can definitely get the job done.

I used to go to the hookah bar on the corner and that's how I discovered it. Now that I am out of state I have had such a hard time finding a good papusa place!!! I had to order it while I was in town. I was not disappointed at all. They're even better than I remembered. I do not order any of the tacos or anything like that so I cannot speak to it. I'm sure they're good if the papusas are this good. I ordered, bean & cheese, 2 chicken, 2 pork. (Obviously not all for me) Then I ordered a side of rice, beans, and chips & salsa. I forgot how big the papusas were. I ate a chicken one and was so full!!! I will definitely be back on my next trip. If you're thinking of expanding your business into other states I have some suggestions hahaha

For many of my friends, when we visit this area, Crooked Run is now a destination because of the tacos (as well as the beer). I do find them delicious and nicely spiced. For me, their price is slightly below average among places I visit, so I find them to be a good deal, especially since they come in slightly larger tortillas - and double layered at that. Their lamb tacos - now 2 styles - are incredibly popular among my group, but I've never had a bad taco there. But the tacos are very messy. Perhaps they have a little too much - even double layered, some of the tacos fall apart as I eat them. Also their method of delivery is a little inconsistent. Two of us ordered two tacos each at the same time. One got his on a tray, I got mine in a little cardboard holder. Maybe they have a limited number of trays? No matter, it's not how they're presented, it's how they taste. And for that, I say "Si Senor!"

I'm really glad I took my daughter who speaks fairly good Spanish with me to place a take out order. Truthfully, you need to be a native Spanish speaker to really order well here. That said, my daughter managed to communicate well enough. These tacos are absolutely the best I've had here in northern Virginia. We ordered both beef and chicken tacos. The place was packed so it took a little bit of time to make our order. Honestly, they made it very quickly given we ordered 7 orders of 3 tacos so I wasn't surprised. The tacos come in an order if 3 tacos with a lovely fresh, spicy green salsa and limes wedges. They use corn tortillas that are very fresh and a nicely seasoned meat with a little fresh grated radish and cilantro. It was wonderful! Even the pickiest one of my kids ate one and said it was fantastic! Honestly, we've been here three times in a month now. It's cheap, good and really nice. Would taco again.

The reason why is because the food is dry and the meat was stringy and hard and the sides were a bit too burnt. The plantains were dry and a bit too bland. The pupusas were pretty good and cheesy but they were very oily so make sure to dab the oil with the napkins. The music is loud and it's a very quick and easy fast food type restaurant. The tables were kind of dirty, but I think they do the best in regards to making sure things were clean. The front cashier really only understands Spanish but I came with a friend who is from PR, so the transaction was fast and easy. We didn't really know what this white sauce was though; it tasted like a garlic mayo, but it didn't really go with the dish itself. Nonetheless, we were pretty full from this meal, so I wouldn't say that it is terrible but it wasn't great either.
