    Tacos (chicken, steak, chorizo)
    Rosie T.

My favorite spot for a pupusa craving! We have only ordered takeout from here but the pupusas are hot, cheesy and perfect each time. I love the little spicy curtido it comes with - always fresh and tasty. The tacos are very flavorful, particularly the chorizo! The wrap is a bit thicker than what I'm used to but I love the simplicity of it all. In a nutshell - steak and chorizo tacos are the best, and get ANY one of the pupusas for a good night of eating!

The worst Service ever!! I work in the Industry and I have never see this kind of Display. Everyone was on there phone. We were sitting for a long long while before anyone gave us a menu! There is no prices on the drink menu which mean they can charge anyone anything. Happy hour bucket for 6 beers is 24 dollars. That's some DC pricing. Food was really good but omg I would never go back because of the staff and zero pricing on drinks.

I come here often and have tried many of their food times. Staff is always friendly. Food is really good. Today I happened to come by for breakfast. We ordered plátanos fritos, 2 pupusas, tamal frito de elote, nuegados, and 2 freshly made orange-carrot juice. It all came out to about thirty bucks. Depends on what you order it can range of pr

Night club not bad, lots of Spanish baddies. The food is good too. Just be careful lots of drug traffic in the bathrooms.

Having been to Local…read moreProvisions (their sister restaurant next door) a few times, we were anxious to sample the French inspired menu. We were not disappointed. The restaurant ambience and decor even gave us fond memories of restaurants visited on our 2023 trip to Paris. The tuna tartare as a shared appetizer was delicious, as were our entrees - Trout Almondine and Duck Confit. The hardest decision of the night was actually dessert, which we would normally skip, but being our anniversary and first time at the Brasserie Royale, we indulged. The "British" (in a French restaurant?) seasonal offering of Sticky Pudding was too tempting not to try. It was excellent. The service and wine selections were equally enjoyable. It was busy on a Monday evening, so reservations are recommended. Our table for two was nestled between other small tables and it was interesting to both see and get reviews of other dishes. Overheard from the table to our right were criticisms of the squash ravioli and garlic sausage entrees. However, the table to our left was effusive about the creme brulee. We will be back. (still need to work on my food photo taking, sorry - I always remember after the dish is almost gone)

While it was busy, it wasn't absolutely slammed. Our server took five minutes to initially greet us-not a massive deal. However, when we went to order, she was unsure of what we wanted. She was clearly new because she asked for us to point on the menu with what we would like. Again, not a big deal. We sat for about 25 minutes and then she told us "it will be out any minute." About 10 more minutes passed and it came out. A 35 minute ticket time for med-rare steak and a croque madam is unacceptable. In addition, she forgot to ring up a side we asked for, which took another 7-8 minutes (even though she told us it would be out in an unrealistic 2 minutes). This experience overall was really underwhelming and a disappointment to a kid-free date with my wife. The actual food was good, per usual. While we will try Brasserie again, it was a massive shame.

They also have a very nice cocktail menu, the guava margarita is really good! Their wings were how we started and the fish sauce is a great flavor to choose. Nice tang to them and they tasted even better when tried with the onions and peppers that were on the plate. Their golden fried rice with grilled chicken was really nice! I enjoyed both the rice chicken, separately. The shaken beef was made with a very nice tenderloin and was also loaded with great flavor and served on a sizzling platter. Highly suggest the lychee mojito!! every person in our four-person girl group had two of these with deliciously plump fresh lychee on top of fresh mint, limes and just the right amount of rum to make you feel all warm inside! The decor was really nice too! Modern with a touch of fun and eclectic. Fortunately, my friends had already been here before, so I had plenty of good suggestions to consider. I opted for a plate that was heavy in vermicelli noodles, and upon ordering the server who took my order highly suggested that I order the woven vermicelli meal that came with lemon grass beef. I am so happy I listened to him because the dish was overflowing with delicious flavor and before I knew it, my plate was completely empty. Service was very kind, prompts and knew all the right suggestions to offer for a high quality experience. Plenty of delicious options for appetizers from classic favorites like fried spring rolls and rice paper summer rolls to savory entrées like short rib, hot pot Vietnamese noodle soups and fried rices. I can see why this place has quickly become a local favorite and why the ratings are all very positive! Lived up to the hype for sure! Thank you so much for an awesome dinner this evening! I really look forward to returning very soon.

We ordered the hummus and pita, which were excellent. The hummus was incredibly creamy and smooth--one of two the most memorable I've had--and the pita was full of flavor and extremely soft. I ordered the Chapli Kabab Burger, which was just okay for me. It comes with two patties, making it a bit too heavy, and while it had some spice, it lacked depth of flavor and had more jam than I preferred. The Brussels sprouts were heaven sent, and the hookah was very smooth. Service was good--nothing standout, but nothing negative either. A DJ came on later in the night, which added to the atmosphere and made it lively and allowing us to talk comfortably. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and I'd definitely go back.

Food: We started with the Batata Harra, which was described as "Fried Potatoes Tossed In An Irresistible Fragrant Peppers & Spices", what we got was cubed fries with not much seasoning, that started the disappointment which became much worse when we got our mains. I got the chicken kebab, which was $24 for 5 small chicken pieces, rice, and a salad FLOODED with dressing. I was disappointed with the small portion size of chicken and the pool of dressing on the salad which leaked to the rest of my food as I ate. My girlfriend got the Lobster and Prawn Risotto and for $39 we were extremely disappointed. We got 2 prawns and a little bit of lobster, for $39 I expected more than that, and it was the worst thing I've ever tried at a restaurant. Didn't try the desserts since the food wasn't good so can't say much on that, but they looked overpriced. Service: For a restaurant charging this much for food, you expect good service. The appetizer was delivered with my food, and then my girlfriends food came out 5 minutes later. The appetizer was warm so I assume she didn't realize it was ready and then when my food was ready it was just brought out together. When we started eating our food we finished our water, the waitress did not ask us if we enjoyed our food or app, just quickly grabbed the water and replaced it without saying a word. If a restaurant is charging this much I expect better service than that. Atmosphere: The atmosphere is probably better during the nightlife, seems they have a dj booth. I gave it 3 stars because when we walked in it smelt kind of weird (not from the hookah), and they were playing MSNBC on both TVs.

Upon our arrival, we were seated near a window overlooking the sidewalk where we were able to watch people passing by while enjoying our candlelit meal. 10 out of 10 for atmosphere at this charming and cozy table. The service was prompt and attentive. We started by enjoying a few of the craft cocktails, which were simply wonderful and the product of a talented and adept bartending. If your idea of a good cocktail involves slush or machines, this is probably not the place for you. I enjoyed a dirty martini, as did my youngest daughter. My oldest daughter enjoyed a French 75. All lovely and all perfectly mixed. I would return here if nothing more than the cocktails! For starters, my daughter shared the Pate De Campagne, which consisted of country style pâté, cornichons and toast points. They loved it! My wife enjoyed the Salad Verte and I loved the Roquefort Salad. Both salads were simply marvelous and went well with the freshly baked bread. On to the main event! Fo her entree, my youngest daughter had the Roasted Cornish Hen. She had never had Cornish hen before, but this particular rendition made her a fan of the dish. Perfectly cooked, juicy and savory. My older daughter enjoyed the Salmon en Croute. The salmon was perfectly cooked to the correct temp and the pastry was spot on. A lovely dish and one I will try on our next visit. My wife and I each devoured the Chicken Paillard. This is one of those dishes that is so simple, but the lemon butter knocks your socks off. If it wasn't such a lovely restaurant, I might have licked my plate. Yes....it was that good. I ate every last caper! For dessert, we shared a portion of the luxurious pistachio cheesecake. An excellent ending to an amazing meal. This charming restaurant is a jewel in the heart of Herndon. I highly recommend it for your next special occasion. We look forward to returning soon!
