This review is regarding our meal on the patio the evening of 4/4/26. We were impressed that the staff picked up on my birthday, since I didn't mention it, and offered a complimentary dessert. Server Kelly M. took our order for a Caesar Salad, Margarita Pizza and a glass of red wine (light meal). A different person delivered the salad and pizza to us, and the food was good. However, we never saw Kelly from the time she took our order until we finished eating. She then showed up with an empty wine glass, said the wine order did not get put in, and asked if I still wanted it. I said "no" since we were done with our meal. At that time, I requested the Cheesecake w/cherries for my complimentary dessert, a small box for pizza, and the check. More than 20 minutes later, Kelly brought a box and the check, but no dessert. She then asked if I "had decided" on a dessert. I repeated that I would like Cheesecake with cherries. After nearly 30 minutes there was no sign of our waitress and no dessert. We were not happy at this point, left cash payment on the table, and walked out. We have eaten at Reston 60 Vines multiple times. No complaints about previous visits; food and service were very good. However, due to the long waits, inattention, and mistakes by our server on this visit, we were very disappointed. We felt management should be aware of this so they can correct the problem. Overall, this was a solid 4/5 experience. The location is beautiful, and the decor and dining room really stand out--everything feels thoughtfully designed and creates a great atmosphere for a night out. The food was good across the board, but nothing particularly stood out or felt memorable. It's the kind of place where you'll enjoy your meal, but it may not be the first spot that comes to mind when deciding where to go next time. I'd definitely come back if I were in the area, though. My one major complaint was the timing of the cocktails. They didn't arrive until after our meals were already served, which took away from the overall experience a bit. By the time our server came back to check in, we decided one round was enough. I understand it was a busy Friday night and the staff was clearly working hard, so it's not a dealbreaker--but personally, I'd much rather have my cocktail in a timely manner, even if that means waiting a little longer for the food. My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful meal at Sixty Vines in celebration of our wedding anniversary. This was our first visit, so it was a gamble. Boy, did we win big!! Upon our arrival, we were greeted with smiles, as our hostess quickly found our reservation and seated us. cWe had a great view of the busy kitchen, while still soaking up the lovely atmosphere of the dining room, Our server, Aimee, was quick to take our drink order. She was exceptionally helpful while ordering and remained very attentive during our entire meal. We started with Albondigas (meatballs) and wood roasted cauliflower (incredible). Followed by two Caesar salads (the croutons are the star), we were almost full! I enjoyed Creste Di Gallo, which is a wonderfully creamy and savory pasta dish. My wife enjoyed the Pan Roasted Chicken, which was so filling that she required a doggy bag! For dessert, they provided us with a huge slice of the Basque Cheesecake, in honor of our anniversary. I have to be honest - I really, really like Sixty Vines. I've actually been to two of their locations - one in FL and one here in VA. Why do I like it so much? The menu really has something for everyone, and well, 60 wines available...again, something for everyone! They do feature a lot of big wineries, but it's a vast selection and you can definitely find some gems. Food: When both my parents and I like the same restaurant, that's something. The food isn't earth-shattering or Michelin star worthy, but they have a good, broad menu and they execute it well. Dishes I've enjoyed include the Caesar salad, chicken, shrimp appetizer, seasonal fish (last summer), and the meatballs. We've dined there with both friends and family and everyone has always liked what they have gotten. Service: No issues with the service. This was my first time to Sixty Vines (SV), and I knew nothing about it. A friend and I were looking to kill some time and have a glass or two of wine somewhere ahead of a later appointment, so we dropped in, and were very glad we did. The host was so nice and directed us to the bar, where David played the role of sommelier, host, and new-found friend. He explained the concept and menu beautifully and clearly, and throughout the several hours we stayed he gave us tastes of this/that and we were won over. A bit later Ms. "V" also introduced herself to us and she too established a great rapport such that I will ensure SV is a go-to for me, now that I've moved back to Reston after some years away. David's wine descriptions and recommendations were spot on for us and I found several new ones I will want to explore further. We had only a couple of appetizers, but they were well done, beautifully presented, and very tasty. One was the hummus, and David, who clearly pays close attention to the guests, delivered a second helping of the pita bread before we even needed to ask. Spacious place; nice decor; big enough it was not at all noisy. And they seem to have a lot of special events that are worth exploring. All told, definitely a place for me and my crowd! read more

This is my favorite place in the town center!! I am a big fan of their cheese board and you HAVE to get the ricotta. It's freshly made and I've never tried a better cheese anywhere else. I wish the cheese board had some more sides, but the cheese choices are great. I love that they do a seasonal menu so there are always new things to try. Recently my husband had the pork chop and he was hesitant, but it ended up being the best meal he's ever had there. I dunno...when a restaurant chain expands beyond it's original home state, the experience doesn't always translate to it's new locations. I first encountered Sixty Vines in 2023 during a busines trip in Houston. Sixty Vines is based in Dallas, TX and is part of the FB Restaurant group https://www.fb-society.com. Sixty Vines is known for their "60 wines on a sustainable tap system." My visit to the Houston outpost also inspired ethos of a California wine bar mixed with an oceanside cafe. I've been to the Reston Sixty Vines on a few occasions, with the most recent visit being for brunch with a large 10 person party. The interior is very bright and welcoming with large windows providing ample natural lighting. The color scheme also leans towards warm earth tones with blonde wood, white tile and khaki flooring, and live plants interspered throughout the dining room. We were seated at one of the long communal tables, and bonus that this place allows for seperate checks - as long as you alert your server before ordering. Water in self-serve bottles and drink orders followed shortly thereafter. I'm not a big wine drinker, so I just stuck with the house coffee which was fine. One of the things about which bothered me immediately, was that because the doors out to the patio were opened (as the weather was nice), there were several flies buzzing about the table. We were constantly waving our hands to shoo them away from the food. I'm sure this is not an issue during the colder months, but still a negative for me. I ordered the truffled ham and cheese and it was...fine. Nothing outstanding, but also not terrible. Just fine. Prosciutto cotto ham was layered with provolone cheese and topped with "spicy" (barley) tomato sauce and a sunny side up egg. It was served atop toasted sourdough with a side of crispy fingerling potatoes. TBH, the food was lukewarm, as if it had been sitting in the kitchen under a heat lamp. As soon as my dish arrived, it cooled to a tepid temperature within 5 minutes. The smashed potatoes also suffered from this temperature issue; there are few things worse than cold potatoes. My biggest complaint was that everthing was very underseasoned and one note. The tomato sauce was very one note, with the prominent flavor being salt and the ham disappeared under the doughy bread and yolky egg. I even had to request salt and pepper...which is never a good sign. It was a busy Sunday, so I give our server some grace for having to flag him down for extra bottles of water and when we were ready to settle up the checks. Everyone else seemed to have an enjoyable experience; but I'm not sure if that is a function of the food and service - or - because this was an instance where this group of was able to convene for a rare brunch outing. I guess in the end, Sixty Vines does a competent job of creating a nice atmosphere for folks to gather and have a good time. Just don't temper your expectations regarding the food. My meal with coffee, one entree, tax + tip came amounted to a shade under $30. read more

Be it date nights or small gatherings this place has become a regular haunt for us. Today 6 friends on a night out - we shared the roasted cauliflower, burrata, shrimp and crispy zucchini over a couple of bottles of wine (a Cabernet, forget the name). My aunt loved this place and has been telling me to go forever. I'm so happy I finally tried it because I absolutely loved it! We did not have a single bad bite! The mussels were plump and tossed in an addictive white wine sauce, the brussel sprouts were crispy, sweet and tangy, the pasta was cooked al dente with yummy pesto sauce and the Benedict had a unique smoked tomato hollandaise that I loved! I've been here a few times now. I really like that you can get half pours of wines here or try a flight. Their pizza is really good and the servers are attentive and nice. We enjoyed the fig and Prosciutto pizza, artichoke pizza and the spicy sausage pizza. My favorite was the artichoke. The watermelon cocktail is amazing and fresh! They offer beer, wine, non alcoholic options, and cocktails. One negative is that most of the wines are really pricy. I enjoyed my experience at Sixty Vines. Both the decor and the food were good, and the staff were kind and friendly. When you first walk into the restaurant you are greeted at the host stand with a sitting area to your right to wait for a table or for your reservation to be ready. The restaurant is large with a lot of seating both traditional tables and some longer tables for larger parties. When my party was sat down at the table, we received a large paper which I thought was the menu, however this was what the server called a "wine mat" and to access the actual food menu there was a QR code to scan. I thought it was very creative how the restaurant leaned into the name of Sixty Vines and presented a "wine mat". In terms of food, I tried the "FRIED CHICKEN + CAVIAR" and the "SPICY SAUSAGE" pizza. I enjoyed both and I would recommend these dishes to anyone who is looking for appetizers to share or even to split between two people. Overall, I think Sixty Vines is a great restaurant to have a relaxed dinner with a nice atmosphere and fun environment. There is good food and many wine options. read more

Recently came back here with my family after receiving a Gift Card and wanting to take everyone out for a nice meal with some wine. Our waitress recommended the Truffled Fries and explained that they were different than your usual french fries - large rectangular fries that have been sliced into thin layers and fried, served with a truffle mayo. Very delicious! We were also all able to sample different wines and find the ones we liked before ordering our own glasses. This experience was very different from anything I've had before but it was very nice to know the wine you're getting fits your tastes. The food was amazing! I went here for my birthday on Saturday for dinner and I had an amazing experience here! I made a reservation for four way in advance and we got seated immediately. I tried their rosé and I liked that I could casually order a half glass as it came in a cute glass as well. We shared the Brussels as an appetizer (which were very flavorful, peppers were spicy and the overall sauce sort of reminded us of soy garlic). Then we got the spicy sausage pizza which was pretty oily but I liked how it was the right amount of spicy which matched the strong cheese on it very well! We then shared the Creste di Gallo- which was everyone's favorite. Man these noodles were cooked perfectly and were so unique as I don't find them often in pasta dishes but if you're ever craving pesto pasta, this is it. The pork chop was also great, seasoned well and juicy and I especially loved the carrots that came with it! I want to come back and try their charcuterie next time. Met a friend for dinner on a Saturday evening for a late birthday dinner. The interior of the restaurant is beautiful. The waiting area felt like I was in a friend's living room. The restaurant is very spacious with a lot of tables for large groups, along with smaller tables around the perimeter. We were seated in a room off the bar area and the first thing I noticed was how loud it was. While all the tables were not full, the acoustics of the room were horrible, so much so that i could barely hear my friend sitting directly across from me. We ordered appetizers (fried chicken + caviar, tuna crudo) and drinks (tequila fix, ginger & juice), all of which were good. The tuna could have used more seasoning as the cucumber and pineapple outshined the ahi. The fried chicken was perfectly cooked. For mains, my friend ordered the bavette steak and I had the campanelle (shrimp pasta). We were both underwhelmed by our dishes as they were under-seasoned. My pasta was cooked well, but the shrimp was bland and dish overall was very one-note. I tasted my friend's steak and it was seasoned to my liking, but extremely fatty. She did say the sides were tasty. The highlight of the meal was the dessert. We both enjoyed the sticky toffee cake, but it is VERY sweet, so beware. Get it with a side of ice cream to cut the sweetness. Overall, an OK experience. Prices are fine, but I will likely only only return for happy hour, or to gather with friends for some drinks and appetizers. read more

This is an upscale but not stuffy wine bar and restaurant. I was attending a conference at the neighboring hotel and came here with a group of ladies I was with. It was actually perfect and super cute for a girls night, unplanned or without a reservation I should say. There are lots of tables and space inside, and it's pretty loud, but not so much that you can't hear those in your party. We had a great waitress that took time to make us feel welcomed, comfortable, and answer any questions about the food menu or the different wines and beverages. I opted for a ceasar salad and margarita pizza, and everything was fresh and delicious. The pizza was definitely shareable. If you are looking for a spot with lots of wines to choose from and some good food, Sixty Vines is a great choice. It is located in Reston Town Center by the pavilion area. They have lots of indoor and outdoor seating, but I would recommend making a reservation, it can be hard to get a table if you just walk in (even on a Monday). Those working are great at recommending wines, I have to ask everytime I go. I also enjoy their cocktails, their spicy jalapeño margarita is definitely spicy. I would highly recommend their pizzas and pastas. The fig and prosciutto pizza is delicious, though they don't put enough prosciutto on it. I also really enjoy the creste di gallo pasta, it's very creamy. If you have space for dessert, the olive oil cake is spongy and moist. I will preface this review with the fact that I have been a customer at sixty vines numerous times and have greatly enjoyed my experience. Last night did not match previous enjoyment of the service and food. Firstly, we had two waitresses, which seemed odd. When we arrived, the restaurant was sparsely occupied, so I found that odd. I asked for wine recommendations and was just asked to order. That is not what I was expecting. It started out on a negative note after that and the experience spiraled from there. We ordered a cheese and meat platter, which was actually tasty. Then we ordered the brussel sprouts, which are normally excellent. This time, they were fully burnt and charred not nicely fried. They were also lacking sauce. We had the waitress take those back and we ordered the buratta small plate and that tasted great. Then without asking if we were done ordering or eating, our check was delivered. We were 100% not done. Then I went to use the bathroom. My friend stayed at the table and then as I was reapproaching the table, she was heading to the bathroom. I returned to the table to find our wine gone, our food gone and mind you we had 50% left. I spoke to our waitress and the manager. They comped us for what they took, but the whole experience left such a bad taste in our mouth, so we paid the check and left. Between not giving requested wine recommendations, burnt food, bringing the check prematurely, taking our food and wine without asking if we were done was entirely inappropriate for a restaurant.
