Our family had a very concerning experience at Sixty Vines Reston. Our 6- and 3-year-old children were served orange juice that we discovered was spoiled after my husband drank the remaining juice at the end of our meal. When we brought it to the staff's attention and asked to speak with the manager, we learned that the manager had tasted the juice, determined it had gone bad, and instructed staff to discard the remaining juice before speaking with us or giving us the opportunity to inspect or preserve it. We were deeply disappointed by how the situation was handled, as it felt like evidence was removed instead of being preserved while our concerns were addressed. The manager acknowledged that the juice had gone bad and accepted responsibility for any health consequences. We have reported the incident to the Fairfax County Health Department and hope the restaurant improves its food safety practices and transparency when responding to customer concerns. read more

I had a reservation here for me and my GF for dinner on a Friday night, but they did not have a table for us until 1-hour after our reservation time. Also, when we first got there they told us that they were just running 15-minutes behind, which tricked us into staying and waiting for this whole time. They did offer us each 1 free glass of wine, but still totally unacceptable and worthy of my 2nd 1-star review. Recently came back here with my family after receiving a Gift Card and wanting to take everyone out for a nice meal with some wine. Our waitress recommended the Truffled Fries and explained that they were different than your usual french fries - large rectangular fries that have been sliced into thin layers and fried, served with a truffle mayo. Very delicious! We were also all able to sample different wines and find the ones we liked before ordering our own glasses. This experience was very different from anything I've had before but it was very nice to know the wine you're getting fits your tastes. The food was amazing! If you are looking for a spot with lots of wines to choose from and some good food, Sixty Vines is a great choice. It is located in Reston Town Center by the pavilion area. They have lots of indoor and outdoor seating, but I would recommend making a reservation, it can be hard to get a table if you just walk in (even on a Monday). Those working are great at recommending wines, I have to ask everytime I go. I also enjoy their cocktails, their spicy jalapeño margarita is definitely spicy. I would highly recommend their pizzas and pastas. The fig and prosciutto pizza is delicious, though they don't put enough prosciutto on it. I also really enjoy the creste di gallo pasta, it's very creamy. If you have space for dessert, the olive oil cake is spongy and moist. Beautiful setting. Reminiscent of a Napa Valley aesthetic. Enjoyed the copious gluten-free fried zucchini appetizer. The dates were good but three were not filling at all. The sausage pizza came highly recommend and my companion enjoyed that. The grilled pork chop also came highly recommended by the staff. I enjoyed it. Many foods had an agrodolce finish, including the pork chops. I liked the rich sauce and roasted carrots. The tastes did start to run together by the end. Great bartender and servers. I can't believe we didn't find this place sooner! Everything was awesome! The atmosphere is just as described...wide open, comfortable seating and nice decor. Service was top notch. *** 3 1/2 stars*** -------------------------------- Review #900 When this place finally opened, we decided to wait awhile to give them a chance to get their act together, as all new places need time to do so. We made a reservation for 5 p.m. on a Saturday which turned out to be a good idea as the place seems to fill up quickly as the evening progresses. While waiting to be seated, I looked over the whole set up. There are some 4 top tables on the left as you enter. However, in the center there are 2 long rows of tables. As we heard someone come in after us tell the person at the host stand that he didn't want to sit at the "cafeteria tables". And, yes, that setup did remind us of a cafeteria or a mess hall. My husband said he thought the decor gave the place a cold feel. It's a bit cavernous with industrial type lighting and poor acoustics. Between the background music and lots of people talking, it was noisy. In other words, not a place one would choose if romantic dining is your thing. Fortunately, they gave us a 4 top table. Our server who was prompt, gave us the option of using a QR code on the table to see the menu or we could get a paper one. We chose the latter. To drink, I ordered a mixed drink called "The Carajillo" which consists of: "Licor 43, calusa espresso, chocolate spiced rim". This was an interesting drink as it was at once bitter, sweet, spicy and salty. The salt comes from the rim as does the sweet and spice. My husband got a large bottle of Pellegrino sparkling water. For my main course, I ordered "rainbow trout" which (supposedly) consisted of: "pan seared, snap peas, pickled fennel, lemon-dill aioli, marcona almond gremolata". There were no snap peas (which was disappointing as I like them), no pickled fennel, and no marcona almond gremolata. The lemon-dill aioli was there but barely registered. Plus there was a side that I really couldn't identify. It had nuts that seemed to be peanuts and stems from a green veggie that I didn't recognize. On the plus side, the trout was well prepared---no bones and very flaky. My husband chose to have the "Atlantic Salmon" which consists of: "shaved Brussels sprouts, shallot braised peppers and smoked paprika vinaigrette." It was served with a spicy tomato or pepper-based sauce. His lips were pleasantly numb upon finishing the dish. We had room for dessert and each got a piece of "Basque cheesecake" which consisted of: "carmelized cheesecake, luxardo cherries". This was very creamy and smooth with the cherries adding a nice touch of flavor. This was my first time to Sixty Vines (SV), and I knew nothing about it. A friend and I were looking to kill some time and have a glass or two of wine somewhere ahead of a later appointment, so we dropped in, and were very glad we did. The host was so nice and directed us to the bar, where David played the role of sommelier, host, and new-found friend. He explained the concept and menu beautifully and clearly, and throughout the several hours we stayed he gave us tastes of this/that and we were won over. A bit later Ms. "V" also introduced herself to us and she too established a great rapport such that I will ensure SV is a go-to for me, now that I've moved back to Reston after some years away. David's wine descriptions and recommendations were spot on for us and I found several new ones I will want to explore further. We had only a couple of appetizers, but they were well done, beautifully presented, and very tasty. One was the hummus, and David, who clearly pays close attention to the guests, delivered a second helping of the pita bread before we even needed to ask. Spacious place; nice decor; big enough it was not at all noisy. And they seem to have a lot of special events that are worth exploring. All told, definitely a place for me and my crowd! read more

Went here for a little wine&dine with a group of friends about an hour before closing on a Monday. We ordered at the bar and sat at their cozy little mock-living room area with a couch and some comfy seats. The vibes are lowkey but lively, and there is plenty of seating. The patio was closed due to the heat warning but walking by outside you can see how beautiful it is. Our bartender/server was amazing. They do FREE WINE SAMPLES and boy did she deliver. Our party was a bit large for the seating at the cozy area so she brought us extra chairs and tables. She even gave us a free frose because she made an extra. You'd think the portions of food wouldn't be that big since it's a wine&dine restaurant, but they were huge!! The shareables are definitely big enough to fill up a party of 4, but still satisfy a party of 8+. I quite enjoyed all of the food. Nothing was a culinary standout but everything was solid, cooked well, and fresh. I've passed by this place plenty of times while in RTC, but now I'm kicking myself for never having gone in til now. This review is regarding our meal on the patio the evening of 4/4/26. We were impressed that the staff picked up on my birthday, since I didn't mention it, and offered a complimentary dessert. Server Kelly M. took our order for a Caesar Salad, Margarita Pizza and a glass of red wine (light meal). A different person delivered the salad and pizza to us, and the food was good. However, we never saw Kelly from the time she took our order until we finished eating. She then showed up with an empty wine glass, said the wine order did not get put in, and asked if I still wanted it. I said "no" since we were done with our meal. At that time, I requested the Cheesecake w/cherries for my complimentary dessert, a small box for pizza, and the check. More than 20 minutes later, Kelly brought a box and the check, but no dessert. She then asked if I "had decided" on a dessert. I repeated that I would like Cheesecake with cherries. After nearly 30 minutes there was no sign of our waitress and no dessert. We were not happy at this point, left cash payment on the table, and walked out. We have eaten at Reston 60 Vines multiple times. No complaints about previous visits; food and service were very good. However, due to the long waits, inattention, and mistakes by our server on this visit, we were very disappointed. We felt management should be aware of this so they can correct the problem. I will preface this review with the fact that I have been a customer at sixty vines numerous times and have greatly enjoyed my experience. Last night did not match previous enjoyment of the service and food. Firstly, we had two waitresses, which seemed odd. When we arrived, the restaurant was sparsely occupied, so I found that odd. I asked for wine recommendations and was just asked to order. That is not what I was expecting. It started out on a negative note after that and the experience spiraled from there. We ordered a cheese and meat platter, which was actually tasty. Then we ordered the brussel sprouts, which are normally excellent. This time, they were fully burnt and charred not nicely fried. They were also lacking sauce. We had the waitress take those back and we ordered the buratta small plate and that tasted great. Then without asking if we were done ordering or eating, our check was delivered. We were 100% not done. Then I went to use the bathroom. My friend stayed at the table and then as I was reapproaching the table, she was heading to the bathroom. I returned to the table to find our wine gone, our food gone and mind you we had 50% left. I spoke to our waitress and the manager. They comped us for what they took, but the whole experience left such a bad taste in our mouth, so we paid the check and left. Between not giving requested wine recommendations, burnt food, bringing the check prematurely, taking our food and wine without asking if we were done was entirely inappropriate for a restaurant. We sat inside the first visit but have consistently sat outdoors in the front couch area of the patio thereafter since we bring our dogs. The food is okay. Not sure I'd go back there just for food - it's food appetizers for sharing to accompany the copious amounts of wine I drink but otherwise, they're all just good brunch items. I always get the Osmosis which is the Sauvignon blanc. Their bar area is honestly off putting - it looks like a bathroom wall with faucets. Something about it is just off. Ive been here a few times and still aren't impressed. I was so excited for this spot to open; gave it time to improve, and it's not aging well (wine pun intended). The ambiance is just strange. It's a mix between industrial, rustic French farm house, and modern. It distracts me every time I go inside. It's bright inside and not stuffy or pretentious. This spot is pricey, especially for a place that pours their wine from the wall and not even a bottle. You can pay around $50 or more (depending on your selection) for a flight. The first time I tried the place, the server was only somewhat knowledgeable about the variations in the wine and had the filthiest fingernails I have ever seen. Like pure chunks of dirt/black gunk were sitting on his nails. He continued to point and the dirt was never washed off (he had to have seen it, right?! or at least someone he worked with?!). I really like sixtyvines! This place is cute, clean, open, and has 60 wines on tap. I had a sweet, bubbly wine (Centorri) and a taste of my partner's froze, and both were really good! As someone who doesn't really drink much, it was still so exciting to browse over the extensive selection. Literally, a wine drinker's paradise. The food was also really good. The house salad was amazing! I didn't really care for the bacon-wrapped dates. Margherita pizza was good, I added a side of honey for a nice contrasting sweetness. Campanelle pasta was insanely good, I've been thinking about it ever since! Portions could be bigger (or maybe serve on smaller plate, because it looked skimp). Service was good. First time visiting this gem. It was absolutely amazing. Let me just say we had so many appetizers we never made it to the main dish, the shareable items were divine. My table ordered individual wine flights and it was a great experience to taste the different wines. The atmosphere was chill, but keep in mind the food was delicious and very good portions. My first time here and it won't be the last! Came for lunch with friends, only one had dined here before. We had a reservation for 1pm and we were seated immediately. The restaurant wasn't too crowded due to the hour. The aesthetic of the restaurant was clean, bright and fresh. We later learned that they very much believe in sustainability (always a plus) and we saw the details in which they do this. Our server was (I don't know how she spells her name) A-Lee-A (phonetically). She was an absolute joy! Her smile and warm, easy going personality definitely added a positive note to our experience! Since it was lunch, we all just stuck with water. We ordered the crispy zucchini for an appetizer to share. It was so good! Just enough heat without being too. This was a very popular restaurant when we went the day after Christmas. It was packed! The wine bar is spectacular and there are tons of options to choose from. It was a gorgeous day and we had reservations at 5:15 and the outdoor patio, and the restaurant was getting filled quickly. We were seated in the private dining room which was nice because it was a lot quieter but away from the servers, or so we thought. We were waited on by Kelly and even though it was a busy evening, she did amazing in making sure we were taken care of. Her positive attitude and attentiveness truly made us feel like family, and made us feel well taken care of. Our dishes came out staggered and quite slow; and these were just the appetizers. We understood it was a busy night but our dinner was almost a full three hours because it was taking a while for things to come out. We did have a little hiccup with one of the dishes but they quickly remedied the situation. Mitch, the Manager for the evening, was AMAZING. He came to check on us and could tell that we were waiting on our dishes and paid personal attention to ensure things came out. We came in before the holidays and waited about 20+ minutes to be sat even with a reservation. The spot is trendy and open concept- but you get sat at tables with others so can be a bit awkward. The service was really bad the time we came in- took about 20 minutes to see the waiter, another 15 minutes to get water for the table and another 45 to get another water when we ran out of the small bottle. Our shared old fashion came out semi quick but they served our friends drink to another table so she didn't get her drink for 30 minutes until after she ordered. Food came out in waves and all of it was solid- the eggplant dip, the zucchini chips, the burrata were all fresh with great flavor.
