I thought I had updated my review last Thanksgiving... but no. This is the second year in a row that we had our Thanksgiving dinner here. Since it was just the two of us, it was much easier to go out for dinner. Ruth's Chris offers up a Thanksgiving dinner on this day as well as its usual menu. For drinks, I had a blueberry mojito, which was quite good. They do a good job on this drink. My husband had a Michelob Ultra. The dinner starts with either the soup of the day, a house salad, or a Caesar Salad. We both opted for the house salad. It was a good mix of veggies with a balsamic vinaigrette dressing. The portion was generous. However, I wished that they had put a bit more dressing on it as it was on the dry side. Next up, was the main course which consists of turkey breast, stuffing, gravy, a bit of cranberry sauce plus your choice of veggie. We both got the garlic green beans. The turkey was tender and moist. The gravy was flavorful, and a generous amount was given. The stuffing was mildly flavored. The bit of cranberry sauce added a bit of sweetness to the entree. Dessert was pumpkin cheesecake with a small cup of vanilla ice cream on the side. The cheesecake was presented as a very small pie. One thing that should have been done---a spoon needed to be given, as we ended up using our forks to eat the ice cream! We were pleased with the portion size as it wasn't too filling. Instead, it was just right. Overall, we enjoyed our meal. Service was excellent. We were greeted and seated immediately. All the staff we interacted with were friendly and efficient. The manager came around a couple of times to ask if we were enjoying our meal. Our server was attentive without being overbearing. The ambiance was cozy, like a steakhouse. We always feel comfortable dining at Ruth Chris. We most certainly will return for Thanksgiving dinner! read more

I came here for a meetup event so i didn't have food. Ambiance: rich deep-toned wood and leather seats. I was in the bat area which was to the left of the restaurant. It was pretty good crowd for the start of Happy Hour. Service: hood service. I was able to get a glass of wine right before Happy Hour was over. read more

Forever a lover of Ruth Chris and this location was the perfect spot to celebrate my kiddos birthday! The staff was wonderful and made sure her dining experience was memorable from start to finish! Our serve took his time to explain the menu and offer a plethora of recommendations around apps, cuts of meat and what sides to chose. I love the fact that they bring the butter plate out piping hot for your steak!! Bonus points that you can ask them to slice your steak for you too! Especially helpful in our case as my kiddo and I split a steak since we both wanted the same cut but knew we would not ea a whole one by ourselves! I loved the added touch with the birthday card they left on the table for her upon our arrival. Highly recommend this location for the casual eat to the celebratory dinner. It's unfortunate, I have a feeling this place will not last long. Friday night, a concert in the Square across the street, and the place is empty. It's not because of the ambience, it's not because of the food, it's because the service is sub par. Please don't get me wrong, when they speak when they do speak to you, the service are very friendly almost phony not genuine like other expensive steakhouses.. It's obvious the staff needs to know how to interact with customers that are coming out for a fine dining event.. I've been to other Ruth Chris, and this one is not gonna make it, i'm sure it will fall under the corporate axe. I will add, that my three course dinner was very good. The potatoes were standing the small petite fillet and the shrimp were very good. The salad was very good. The dessert which I had, crème brûlée, was delicious although probably pre-made because the topping was cold so it was probably put in the refrigerator , but it was a good meal overall if the service was a little better. this is the worst experience I've ever had. Valentine's Day is supposed to be a night to enjoy and share with your loved ones. Had a reservation for 8 o'clock did not get see it till 9:15 PM. Food did not come out until after 10. They were out of all their steaks except for fillets. When the food came out, it was mid at best steaks were cooked. sides are cold. We were told that OpenTable overbooked. No thank you, no, I'm sorry. No nothing. This is the worst experience ever and I paid 300+ dollars for it. Resting Ruth's should be ashamed. They did not apologize or offer for complementary drinks while waiting. I wanted drinks so I went to a bar and order a unsweet iced tea and the bar tender named Jorge said he wasn't gonna serve me because there was no alcohol. I'm writing this as I sit at the bar, completely disappointed with my experience. When I arrived, Lisa, the bartender, handed me only a happy hour menu, while others who arrived at the same time and sat nearby were given full menus. I watched as she openly handed full menus to other guests, making it clear that I was being treated differently. It was hard not to feel that I was being deliberately discriminated against. She never checked on me or asked if I needed anything, instead spending her time chatting one-on-one with other guests while completely ignoring me. As the only person of color at the bar, the difference in treatment was impossible to ignore. It was uncomfortable and disheartening to experience such disregard in a place that prides itself on hospitality. Jorge eventually stepped in and took my order. Overall, this was an awful experience, and I won't be returning to this location. I'll gladly take my business to the DC or Arlington locations, where I know I'll be treated with the same level of respect as any other guest. The 2 stars is because the food was good. read more

Ambience and service was ok. Food was disappointing and very salty. The steaks were not cooked to specification and not as tender. The salad was average and more like fast food salad. The spinich side was awful and the mash potatoes were average. They charge $3 more for the wine i ordered but didn't want to hassel with it. Really like the food and menu. As someone who will eat steak but usually prefers seafood they have a great seafood menu as well. This is our second time going and the server Jack is really good. We will be back. I work in an interior design field and will say the decor is very nice. We used to frequent the Fairfax location and was excited to see a new Reston location. I'm torn between a 3 star and a 4 star. The staff was friendly, the food delicious but the timing and the service was definitely lacking. A dinner for 8 on a night where the place was barely at 50% capacity should not have taken 3.5 hours to dine. Table decorations and cute birthday card and a wonderful host team started our dining experience. Our server, can't remember name, was so nice but his timing was slow. Plates were not taken off the tables so the next courses were always slow to arrive. I ordered a salmon dish topped with grilled shrimp. No shrimp. I had to ask for it. It was a sad display of shrimp, almost like they took a frozen shrimp out and microwaved it. Poor quality for a Ruth's restaurant chain. Dessert was not complimentary for the birthday boy even though the waiter and the host told us it was going to be. We never saw any kind of manager considering we were the largest party in the restaurant that night. Probably won't return and honestly I don't think I could recommend. read more

My husband and I decided to try the new RTC location on Friday night, after we found a gift card we had forgotten about. We realized we hadn't been to a Ruth's Chris since 2004!! The new space is nice, and elegant, although lower lighting would be nice (way too bright for 8pm). Henry was our server and he was excellent! He was personable, attentive and just all around nice guy. My husband had a blueberry mojito that was not only well made, but a good looking drink. Sad I forgot a pic! For appetizer, I had the lobster bisque, which was made New Orleans style (Brandy instead is sherry) and my husband has the Caesar salad. Both good. For dinner we shared the roasted Brussels sprouts. Cooked well, but we both decided we still like shredded Brussels better. Husband had the bone in filet medium rare and the lobster tail add on. The steak was cooked perfectly. I had the blue cheese crusted petit filet done medium. It was a little over done but good none the less. I noticed others saying timing was horrible, but we didn't have that experience. Apps and dinners came out in a timely manner. Not too rushed but not too long in between. Entire dinner was about an hour and 20 min which was perfect. Definitely recommend! read more

Usually don't do this, walked in to have a steak and a few drinks at the bar sat down three people behind the bar waited a few minutes assuming that at some point, someone would come over and ask me if I wanted anything. Another gentleman came in and sat down, fairly close to me with greeted. He was able to place an order and I felt invisible no greeting nothing. I had the opportunity to dine at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse in Reston tonight and everything exceeded my expectations! Their official grand opening is on Monday April 3rd but I highly suggest stopping by before that if you're in the area. The decor is beautiful with classy lighting and artwork throughoit. There's a great ambiance and staff are very well prepared to greet you with a smile. Everyone was friendly, polite, and upbeat. My waiter Jack checked in with me throughout my meal and provided some great recommendations! For starters, I ordered a Caesar salad and their ahi tuna. The salad was nice and crispy with a good amount of Parmesan cheese. The ahi tuna was fresh and came with a side of cucumber salad. If you like steak, this is one of the best restaurants to satisfy your cravings! The steak comes out sizzling at 500 degrees and perfectly cooked to order. I had the filet mignon with some bleu cheese crumble on touch and *muah* it was delish! I was so excited I forgot to take a photo before I cut into my steak! I also had a said of au gratin potatoes which was cheesy and gooey. Are you a chocolate fan because the chocolate sin cake will 100% hit the spot! It's very rich chocolate, light and actually reminds me more of a mousse. The mint garnish was also fresh but did you see that strawberry? It was huge and sweet! Don't forget to order a drink! The pomegranate martini was amazingly good! I was afraid it'd be too strong for me so I asked for it to be mad a little sweeter and it was so good, I finished it before I finished my appetizers! Great spot for a juicy steak! I ordered from the pre-fix menu which included a appetizer (caesar salad, house salad, lobster bisque) petit fillet with either shrimp or lobster tale, as well as a side (creamed spinach or mashed potatoes) and desert. They provide complimentary bread which was hot and fresh. Caesar salad was fresh and enjoyable. The petit fillet was delicious, I had my steak cooked medium, it had a nice red center. Had the steak topped with truffle butter which added a nice flavor too it. My wife had her steak topped with blue cheese crumbles and that was also delicious. For sides, we had the creamed spinach and brussel sprouts. Brussel sprouts could have been cooked a tad more for a little crispiness, but overall was very good. Creamed spinach was terrific. For desert, I had a personal cheesecake, which was a nice ending to the meal. Service was pretty good, and the restaurant manager came over to make sure we were happy with everything and wish us a happy holidays, which I appreciated. The worst fraud whatever the location is. The meat is always too salted ...when it is good. Very irregular for the certainty of paying more than everywhere else. The menu is poor. The sides are greasy -even the " healthy options " - the service is terrible. We had to wait and stop the waitress on her way 15´ minutes after we got seated. Untitled, hypocritical like if the clients are their good of bad friends. They threw a bag to the table so we could take out the leftovers but it was not good enough to bring anything back home. Came here first time for New Years Eve. Walter was our waiter. He was kind enough but not as experienced as other waiter related things like removing used dishes and overall attentiveness. The ambiance was nice and a private table in the main dining room was very cozy. The meal was a traditional rib eye with sides of Mac and cheese and Brussel sprouts. I got a petite sirloin medium rare was perfectly cooked. The only negative when you have sides you need a larger plate or extra side plate for the sides which is why the restaurant lost a star. Update to my review below: I spoke with the Ruth's Chris General Manager. She was extremely professional and apologized for our experience. She was very open to my feedback. In speaking with her it was clear to me that she is a very well versed and experienced manager who genuinely will work to improve the restaurant. I will go back and try the Ruth's Chris Reston restaurant. Everyone deserves a second chance. I will update my experience. Absolutely horrible dining experience at Ruth's Chris Reston, Virginia. The quality of the steaks that came out of the kitchen were low grade beef and bland in taste not up to Ruth's Chris standards. You pay top dollar at Ruth's Chris and what was served was below what you get at Outback. Drinks ordered from the bar took approx. 15 minutes to be brought to the table from the time of order. My guests came in from Baltimore an hour and a half drive and they ate only 1/2 of their steak as it was not a tasty experience and commented that the quality of the Pikesville, Maryland Ruth's Chris was a much higher standard. For what was to be a celebration with friends turned out to be a bad culinary experience. I do not fault our waiter as he tried his best. read more

My wife and I had dinner tonight and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. When our entrees arrived, the server realized that the kitchen prepared for me a NY Strip rather than the bone-in NY Strip that I ordered. The maitre'd immediately arrived and offered me an appetizer while they prepared a new steak for me while my wife ate her filet. Every piece of meat you try has excellent flavor. The sides are big enough to feed two people and are flavorful. You are always full after the meal, so the desserts are always take-home. I am not sure if the bartender is to blame for the drinks' lacking desire. read more

It's absolutely amazing to me that this place has four stars. They have obviously paid people to go on Yelp. From the plastic bar to the IKEA shelving for the liquor. I'm remiss in my delay of this review...I recently engaged with Ruth's Chris for the catering of my Real Estate office and two sister offices Holiday Party in Midtown RTC (next door). From start to finish the communication was excellent with the offsite coordinator, Jennifer. She was accommodating in last minute change orders to the menu & rental needs for our party. However, I would like to recognize the General Manager, Sierra Krynitsky, for an incredibly exceptional job! I've been in the event industry for 20+ years and was BLOWN away by her professionalism, hands on approach and attention to detail. She went above and beyond to make our event fantastical, and her Team is a reflection of her leadership skills. Jack, our Bartender and Assistant Manager of Ruth's Chris, could not have been better! He served 70+ people with ease and without any thought offered to assist us in delivering our excess food to the local shelter. Literally, without a thought offered to deliver food for us...truly a Holiday Angel with the giving spirit Ruth's Chris is known for. Lastly, I cannot leave out the sweet kitchen staff who delivered our PHENONMENAL food direct from the kitchens with laughter and playful conversation with the guests. FOOD - AMAZE everything we ordered was delish, impressive and gorgeous. We knew the steak and apps would be nummy but if you are hosting an event do yourself a favor and get the charcuterie & mezza boards. We arrived around 5:30 PM on Monday for my husband's birthday. It was relatively empty so we were sat at quite a nice table. We decided to order a crab cocktail, even though it wasn't on the menu and there was hardly any lump crab meat. It was mostly a Swedish cabbage mixed in with some crab meat. That was the beginning of a very sad meal. When you're spending quite a bit of money, you expect to at least have quality food. However, the three crabcakes that was my entrée were mostly filling and you could hardly taste the crab As it was my husband's birthday at least he got a decent fillet, which obviously he should have for the money and a very small lobster tail. Suffice to say, I will not be going back there anytime soon, if ever again. read more
