My wife ate their on Saturday, March 28th. We started with Mac and Cheese bites and the Brussel sprouts. The Mac and Cheese bites were delicious. Crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. There was a tomato dipping sauce on the plate which was very tasty. My only criticism is that the Mac and Cheese needed some salt. The Brussel sprouts were cooked in balsamic vinegar. They were cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. The onions were a nice addition to the plate. We both had smash burgers. Mine had the fried egg on it and my wife's had BBQ sauce. The burgers were wonderful. Very tasty. Possibly the best smash burgers in Loudoun County. My only critique is that the meat itself needs more seasoning. My tater tots were nice and crispy, although they weren't hot, only warm when our plates came out. Our server was wonderful. She came by our table often to check on us. I'm rating only based off the wrestling event. They need to install ceiling fans or get some more ventilation in there somehow, as the atmosphere inside got super humid, sweaty, and gross. This is one of my favorite pizza spots in NOVA! I highly recommend the saucy sausage - it's amazing! The crust is perfectly chewy. Their happy hour menu is great - good price on drinks and food. I also recommend the smash burger, it's so cheesy and good!! There's ample outdoor seating and frequent live music. The patio is very dog friendly and even had pools for the dogs. He ordered the triple decker sandwich and I ordered the Ruben sandwich which came with side of chips, and it was delicious!! I was excited to try this place after seeing it was close to our hotel. When we arrived there was a band playing and we sat at the bar. I got a dozen wings and my wife got steak frites. Her fries were cold. We asked for new ones and they came back only slightly warmer. My wings were ok. Not as flavorful as I would've liked. Service was ok. Despite the music and decent crowd, it was easy to converse with my friend. My friend had the Pretty Little Liar and I had sangria (yummy). We ate: heirloom carrots - good but not as memorable as the other dishes Fried halloumi- absolute perfection Short rib-zaa - really, really tasty combo of flavors on delicate buttery crust Lobster deviled eggs - I enjoyed the tempura lobster and my friend loved the deviled eggs. Went with the wife in october 2024. Place is definitely more of a sports bar vibe than restaurant. Thave have outside seating and large TVs all around as well as comfy looking sofas. Inside is dark and the first time I went there was line dancing going on, which can be fun to watch. This time I had an OK smash burger, but my wife ordered the blackened shrimp and it was brought out by a man who was probably the cook. He seemed a bit 'off'. The shrimp looked like it was not fully cooked and when she asked the server, was told that is how it is served. She gingerly ate 1 or 2 before deciding it was a bad idea. Lets just say things went decidedly downhill after this and we had to make a hasty ride home as the shrimp were definitely not properly cooked and probably not fresh, resulting in some stomach issues. If she had eaten the entire dish she probably would have had to to to ER. Not cool. Prices are somewhat high, but the focus seems to be more on the booze than the food. Their beer selection is good, but I can say both of my visits had me regretting the food. read more

The short rib pizza was also something special. Glad they had some pinball & virtual golf since they seemed to be short staffed. It is more hip hop/90s vibe and more high top seating instead of the pool table. There are also pinball machines. The renovations were quick! LoCo definitely needed this - we were starving for a tapas place! Service was great! Our waitress, Emi, offered suggestions on what to get and even made a drink I wanted into a mocktail! They also have a few mocktails under the "sober curious" section of the menu. The owner's wife stopped by at the end to ask how everything was as well (I didn't know until I saw on Facebook when she commented!). I got a butterfly pea flower lemonade (mocktail of "pretty lil liar" drink), while hubby ordered the fallin' off cocktail ($10). We ordered the grilled halloumi cheese ($9), chicken lollipops ($15), blistered shishito peppers ($9), and rounding out with the halva blondie ($16). FOOD/BEV: -butterfly pea flower lemonade / mocktail - very good and refreshing! more lemonade than anything but it was fun. AND they only charged us $3! -fallin' off cocktail - hubby deemed it as "really good" - I had a sip and deemed it as too strong but I rarely drink -grilled halloumi cheese - this is such an unexpected combo but the grilled cheese with the pomegranate seeds was really great. the chef really thought about textures! -chicken lollipops - we didn't particularly care for these. the sauce was too sweet and some of the lollipops were too fatty. a steep $15 price tag deemed it not worth getting again -blistered shishito peppers - wonderful rendition of a classic app - the green goddess dressing and the walnut dust really elevated the dish. dipping them into the dressing was hands-on, too. both of us drew a spicy one this time! -halva blondie - the STAR of the show! we did get it without the whipped cream, as i am lactose intolerant, but it didn't really need it (or rather, it was great without it). the blondie had a peanut buttery taste and the coffee anglaise matched it perfectly. hubby STILL talks about this dessert and it was a week ago. NOTE: they have since changed their menu - the shishito peppers are no longer on it and they have pizza and sammies now! They also have a DJ on Saturdays but it wasn't too loud. Been hearing some things about this new place and today I got my chance to check it out. They are now open for lunch, which worked out great. Very bright "graffiti-like" paintings on the walls, lots of TVs going to catch all the sports action. My far the most unique menu options in Ashburn, blend of Mediterranean, Greek, and more. Items like lobster PB&J to a variety of small plates and handhelds. Andre was our server and was on top of everything, made some great recommendations and answered our questions. My wife had the hummus, that Chef John came out and talked to us about, a long time family recipe from Greek, it was the best hummus I have every had. I had the Arayes Burger, think of sliders in pita, outstanding! The only knock I would give them, and it's small, is the music, too loud Beyonce, Katy Perry, pop junk. Delicious and refreshingly different type of place in Ashburn Village where Bungalow Alehouse used to be! The service is phenomenal (they try to locally source their ingredients) and it's a really cool vibe! Let's start with the food...So they have some great small plates to try with a seasonal rotating menu. I was with a couple of people and we tried so many plates (at least 8)! My favorite thing about their food was an overall well-balanced and well-seasoned menu. There's a lot of flavor in most dishes without being too salty or strong. The seafood was all cooked perfectly from the tempura shrimp to lobster. I thoroughly enjoyed the deviled lobster eggs and the yellowfin tacos!! Soooo yummy! We were regulars when it was Bungalow Alehouse and the layout is pretty much the same but even more screens! It's a good place to watch football or other sports. The staff are so friendly and helpful. They go out of their way to make you feel welcome and always on top of refills! Andre is great as is Jerry. The decor is very unique for Ashburn with a casual vibe. Graffiti art everywhere is really cool with old school hip hop playing when I was there. For REALLY good REAL food in a cool atmosphere (not stuffy) with good people you should definitely check it out. Had a very large group for a birthday dinner. I initially did have some trouble getting confirmation making the reservation, but after sending an email, the staff quickly reached out and answered all my questions and got the reservation squared away. It was pretty busy when we came in but got a nice spot tucked away from the outdoor party, so we were able to have a nice dinner without being overwhelmed. Towards the end, the band moved indoors due to the rain so it did get louder but it was at the tail end of dinner. They were sweet enough to do a small birthday bit weaved into their song as they were playing. This place has a very casual vibe but can be a bit loud. Lot of party vibes but chill and welcoming for guests to mill around, have a good time with the music. Some of us went around to browse the selection of games. Service was slow as they seemed to be understaffed since our waiter was manning multiple stations of the restaurant, but they were able to provide everything correctly. Came in during lunchtime by myself. I hadn't heard it had changed from the last place... kinda quiet, only 1-2 other parties here. The staff was friendly and eager (though they could probably benefit from a "please sit where you would like" sign at the entry as there was no host during the day. Their menu is great! They offer an extensive tapas-style menu as well as sandwiches, pizza, snacks, and deserts. I was also pleased to see they have mocktails as well! I ended up ordering the wedge salad and the braised short rib which came with butternut squash puree. The food was pretty fast. The wedge was very nicely portioned and perfectly executed. Braised rib was fall apart tender (as it should be)... the puree tasted fresh and consistent. Overall I was very pleased with the great service and lovely menu; I'll be returning for sure! I am extremely disheartened and disappointed by this establishment. I will say the staff was amazing, but the food quality has gone down hill, and the ownership is extremely unappreciative of the people that help support the business. I was at this location with my girlfriend and we ordered drinks and some food at the bar. The staff was amazing and on point. We ordered beverages and placed our food order. The food was below average and very disappointing. The supposed hype and buzz surrounding the food at this place was not close to being met. We had the Hummas, a Pizza with sausage and pepperoni, and the steak frites. All were way below average. The staff noticed our disappointment and tried to help however they could. Interestingly enough the owner was present sitting at the bar with a laptop. He did not notice or seem to care about our lack of satisfaction with the quality of food. Shortly after a group of Indian Americans came into the restaurant and I noticed a sense of "damn, now we have to deal with them" on his face. The owner went on to say to one of the regulars "these brown people come in, they are extremely demanding, and they never tip". The more I heard the most disappointed I got. I had high hopes for my time at this establishment, especially with reviews and what i had heard, but seeing how little they care about the quality of food, or what people are coming into spend money and keep the business open is disappointing. I honestly wish this place the best, but hope that they one improve the how the think of patrons and understand who is spending money to keep this business open. Next I hope that the food gets back to the point where everyone raves about it. read more

I was floored by the quality and complexity of flavors used by the chef. It was something more like what I'd expect at a fine dining spot. Had the small plate asparagus, mushrooms, shrimp scampi, and chicken wings. Asparagus had preserved lemon to amp up the flavor which was complemented perfectly by the sliced almonds. The mushroom were a mix which gave great variety of texture. The scampi was fantastic and the bread served with it brought out amazing flavors. The wings I was septal on because I got old bay with ranch. The ranch had a super high dill flavor which I wasn't into at first, but the more I used on the wing the more addicted I became. Simply fantastic and unexpectedly delicious. My colleagues and I were visiting the area and found the review's for Rai and assumed they were "cooked" or too good to be true. Nope. Every menu item was fantastically prepared as if coming from a gourmet kitchen all in a very hip bar scene. The drinks were incredible (old fashions) and we reordered many items. Try the pizzas, deviled eggs with lobster and the hummus was the best I'd ever had. Lamb lollipops were incredible and the Brussels sprouts did not disappoint. We tried Rai's for the first time today for lunch and it was absolutely amazing! The decor is so nice with graffiti stylishly painted on the walls and a very cool vibe in general. The selection of small plates is great and there are so many wonderful options on the menu. Our waiter, Andre G, was excellent and seemed so well versed on the menu that we felt as if he was the cook himself. Besides telling us about the dishes themselves, he went through the inspiration behind the dishes! The other staff were also so welcoming and came to our table to make sure everything tasted great. We were not disappointed with our selections -- they were out of this world. We had the brussels sprouts, hummus, lollipop lamb chops and PB&J lobster (seriously -- how creative!). All of these were incredible and tasted so good. We are so excited to go there again soon and try four or more new dishes because we know everything will be tasty! The music videos playing on the huge screen added to the atmosphere as they were really interesting and went with overall vibe of the restaurant. In Ashburn, we don't really have a place like this and I am so glad they decided to come here. Definitely try it out and you won't be disappointed! read more

I have to be honest- this is a tough review to write because I wanted so badly to like Rai's Rendezvous (RR) for a couple of reasons: 1. The owners seem like great people, and 2. Their other restaurants are very good. However, after trying RR for a second time, I just find myself thinking this version of the restaurant may not make it. I know the owners are trying for something unique, but I just think this concept will not work. The restaurant is confusing, as if it doesn't know what it really wants to be. When you walk in there are tvs everywhere, including a huge one in the main dining area- which is awesome for watching sports. So, you immediately think this is a sports bar, so let me get some wings, a burger or food like that, but that's not this concept. There are small plates (think Tapas) that are frankly, pretty unimpressive. We've tried many of them including: The wedge salad (ok), the chicken lollipops (eh...to dry, not enough chicken), the tempura shrimp (all tempura, no shrimp it seems), the crispy cauliflower (again, eh...kinda boring honestly) and the baby gem salad (yuk). Can you imagine yourselves eating any of that while watching a football game? Me neither. Also, there are so many small plates on the website that were not on the menu at the restaurant. The menu also included a $54 NY strip steak. Seriously? That kind of price in that atmosphere? That is going to raise a lot of eyebrows. I tried the chicken and fawaffles and the chicken was okay, but man, that fawaffle is terrible. C'mon, just make a regular waffle so there is something that is not overthought on the menu. I think the reason there are so many "wings and burgers" types of sports bars is because they work. People know what to expect and a $54 steak and a "fawaffle" are not pleasant surprises. We won't be going back, but we will visit Rai's Pizza and Rai's Pourhouse. By the way, the service was pretty slow and both times we went there were not many other guests, but I know the restaurant is new so I do not hold that against them. It was a little irritating to have our server ask if we were ready for our check and when we said yes, she "Okay, I'll be right back" and then she went and talked with the bartender for 10 minutes. Anyway, I like to end on a positive note and I'll say that I have faith that the owners will figure things out and I hope to be back when they do. read more

If you like food and have an extensive pallet then this is the place for you. Scratch kitchen, nothing frozen and Chef John is one of the best in mixing unique things that go well together that not the average brain would even attempt to try. Lobster PB&J, Chicken lollipops, braised short ribs and the hummus and tahini sauce is off the charts. Of course they carry incredible pizza and burgers....even those are unique. Their Sat and Sun brunch is everything you are looking for. I challenge any foodie to test this place out. Full bar, games and live music tie everything together for a great outing.
