Had to wait out in the cold for twenty minutes before they even opened the door. And we had reservations! Then twenty minutes to be seated- they had two people pointing you to a seat- and they had a giant backlog, with a lot of confusion. It was 7:10 before out first drink arrived. The entree came before the app. Talk about setting a bad scene. THe "duelling piano" duo was fine, but played way too loud. Have they never heard of a dinner set? Also, fairly offensive in asking for VENMO donations repeatedly for requests. Portions were modest; wine selection VERY limited (No Reds, exc. Sangria? We won't be back. The place is actually fun and full of life with graffiti and pinball games, elevated bar, and even a bit of slots. Great venue for bands. Service was excellent, friendly, and accommodating. Even though the place was packed, the wait staff came by the table at reasonable intervals, and the manager even checked to make sure everything was alright. My only (minor) negative comment is the selections on the menu. Everything presented is a little unusual as far as ingredients or choices. Would be nice for us traditional people to have a few simple and boring choices as well. That having been said, what we did order was very good. read more

Went for the first time today for lunch. It wasn't very busy, but it should be! The food was delicious. We shared the Patatas Harissa, Fried Halloumi, Grilled Heirloom Carrots, and Braised Short Rib. Everything was perfectly seasoned and prepared. The service was also great. It's a varied menu with lots of vegetarian options (which was great for my veg partner and partly how we ended up going.) It's a sports bar, not a restaurant. Food was overpriced and not good. Best thing was a wedge salad. Not sure if the hummus that was so thick the bread could barely scoop up or the chicken lollipops that were not crispy and had so much fat we couldn't even bite through them, were worse. The food is really good and different - some of our favorites have been the lamb lollipops, mushroom risotto, shrimp ceviche. The menu is very diverse, so lots of things to try each time. The Mediterranean small dish menu was surprisingly Delicious. We have been back many times and we enjoy the entire menu. They frequently change the menu and have specialties like tacos on Tuesdays and special events. The large screen high television is awesome for sporting events. The food was very good, however, the service was slow, and our order was not correct (asked for sauces on the side, they were not). Also, when the waitress explained the menu, she said the sandwiches come with a side and gave us options. However, when the bill came, the sides were an extra charge, which is not how I interpret "comes with". If I pay for it I can order a side with anything I want! Also, I had ordered a drink and she still didn't bring it by the time the food came, so I cancelled it. Was so excited to go, my friends said they had a DJ and we were trying to do Sunday Funday! Tony the bartender/manager was a dick, maybe a little racist. He told me that I was aggressive and that I was partying to much(I'm a black women) I apologized and said I meant no harm was just happy to be out celebrating my girl. He changed his attitude when he realized who I was with. My friends saw how he treated me and were ready to leave but I said it was all good because I saw that they had no busy on a Sunday and I had about, 20 people with me. This place is difficult to understand, sports bar atmosphere (loud) with very expensive tapas menu and even more expensive large plate menu. We were a table of four adults who were reasonably hungry, we ordered for small plates to share and one large plate each and one cocktail each. Seems like a lot but portion size were very small. Given the prices we were expecting the food to be top notch, but it was average at best and some dishes were quite frankly not good (Fawaffle, Chicken Lollipops, Tuna). Our waitress was Fantastic! Just tried Rai's for the first time. Loved it! Staff was very friendly and informative,, food delicious, atmosphere great, and a nice selection of beer and cocktails. Sampled several small plates (short rib, brussels, and tempura shrimp) all of which were really good. Finished with a sausage pizza (new item) with cup pepperoni, lamb sausage, and hot honey. Pizza was excellent too although Rai's pizza by the skating rink has become our favorite Ashburn pizza so it was no surprise this pizza was so good. Definitely will be back. This place is amazing! Incredible food, great service and staff, fun art. A group of us went today to hang out and had a blast, met the chef and some of the other owners. My husband is Egyptian and he said the hummus is the best he's ever had, so we asked the chef to come talk to us so we could tell him.
