Philly Cheesesteak in a wrap.
Nick G.

I was traveling through and stopped in. Sounded like it might be a cool place. Definitely has the "local hangout" feel. They have a decent beer selection and serve some good food. I got a Philly cheesesteak in a wrap. Fantastic flavor! I also tried their chicken wings which were surprisingly good!! If i lived here, i can see this being a regular stop for me.

Great spot to stop and grab a beer and wings before Herndon Live. Usually not too crazy so you can grab a table without waiting. Always have some some sort of interesting event like line dancing classes going on

Buffalo Chicken Dip

This is now my favorite restaurant/bar in the NOVA area. The food is amazing with a nice dive bar charm. I actually went here in back to back days which demonstrates how much I liked my first venture. To start, I ordered the buffalo chicken dip. this was absolutely scrumptious and enough for about four people to eat their fill. I would recommend getting the mix of chips and bread foe the dip. You can't go wrong with this creamy concoction. For my main course, I got the Surf and Turf Mac and Cheesesteak. This will definitely be my staple for whenever I go back. The shrimp was fresh and the Mac on top added a gooey yuminess to the cheesesteak. Fries or tots as a side - they are both good. I also ordered (on my second trip) the Buffalo chicken sliders. I wasn't too hungry so was looking for some more light fare. This was the perfect choice. Three flavor packed sliders with a side of fries accomplished exactly what I was looking for. It was also a good balance of BBQ sauce to chicken for each slider. In all, this is a hidden gem in Herndon. It gives off a dive bar atmosphere but has a hipster like food menu that really can't be beat anywhere else in the area.

Pretty darn good for some yums during the pandemic. Picked up a girlfriend from the airport for her yearly visit. Wanted something quick and yummy. This looked like our best bet. If the food was less salty and they remembered our utensils it would have been a 5.

I will not allow any Sully's slander. This is my favorite restaurant in the Reston/Herndon area and it's not even close. The chicken tacos, flatbread and peanut butter drink are can't miss. Friendly waiting staff, outdoor seating and delicious food, what else could you want? Brunch is also very underrated. The mimosa was delicious and the French toast was buttery and delicious. Wish there was a location in Arlington because I would eat here every weekend if I could. Did I mention prices were affordable??

Dive place, food was OK. Service was lackluster. My hubby and I and our friends should've gone somewhere else. We won't be back.

We were seated right away and the servers were very friendly. We didn't have to wait for anything which was greatly appreciated. Whether it was ordering drinks, refilling water, and even checking out, the entire experience was top notch. The food was freshly prepared and packed with flavor. The fish tacos were paired with a fresh slaw and came with rice and beans. The portions were very generous so make sure you are hungry. The steak spaghetti was surprisingly well balanced and packed with flavor despite looking pretty basic with a few pieces of steak. Really looking forward to coming back again!

The free popcorn still isn't good or all that enjoyable, service can be hit or miss, drinks are expensive, and the food is very good. The Reston location does have plenty of large TVs, making it a solid place to catch a game. This was a guys' night out for food and drinks, but it's probably not going to become a regular meetup spot when a couple of easy changes could make a big difference. First, get rid of the popcorn, it's honestly laughable. Second, bring the drink prices down. A Wild Turkey and Coke shouldn't cost $14. We started with something to share. My biggest concern was value for the price, and the menu only had a few appetizers that felt both shareable and reasonably priced. The Bavarian Pretzel was good, although I wasn't a fan of the mustard dip. At $10, it's a decent value for two or three people. The chili nachos were tasty, but $18 is just too much for what you get. Even if they doubled the chips and chili, I'd still think they were overpriced by a couple of dollars. I'll definitely give them credit for the entrées. On my last visit I had the jambalaya, which was excellent. This time I ordered the Peruvian-spiced half chicken, and it was fantastic. I ended up spending almost $100. I had a good time and enjoyed the food, but Open Road has moved into my "splurge" category rather than my monthly hangout spot. Our server may have been new because service was slow, and the kitchen was also taking a long time to get food out, especially for a Friday night. I'm giving the Reston location four stars, just like Arlington. The food was tasty, I had a good time, and I'd come back, ... but.... the little things, especially the drink prices, lopsided menu pricing, and inconsistent service, keep it from being one of my spontaneous go-to spots.

The one blip was when we first entered, the young-ish man at the host desk looked at us with a "What are you doing here?" grimace. I was stunned since the hosts are usually very happy to see patrons come in. Beyond that, though, we had a lovely time. Our server was quite friendly and got hubs customized Cuban order just right. I had the killer tomato basil soup and tasty grilled cheese. I also got an order to go of the Buffalo Chicken wrap. It was yummy the next day for lunch. We hadn't been to NYAJ's in years. It had somehow fallen off our dining radar. We'll be back more often after our recent terrific dinner.

The chicken dumplings where served in a citrus soy bath, so sour on the taste buds it made me pucker. Additionally, upsettingmy stomach all night. Suggestion put the sauce on the side. They also lacked the crunch associated with dumplings. No sure if they were not cooked or the citrus soy bath damped the experience. The Waldorf Salad was as expected. I subsituted a different chicken option. The people experience was a 5. The food experience is somewhere between and 2-3 stars. I have had better at this location.

It's a nice atmosphere, not too stuffy but elegant enough for a nice dinner. The drinks are good, well mixed, and nice options whether you drink wine, beer, cocktails, or non-alcoholic options. The food, however, is very mediocre. They started with an amuse-bouche that was a fruit tart with cheese. Nice, light, and well balanced. We ordered the tuna tartare, along side a Japanese sweet potato dish and a salmon tartare that were both specials. The tartares were fine. Something you would get anywhere. The presentation was nice but their crisp or cracker was kind of useless as it doesn't have the structural strength to use as a vessel to eat the fish. The sweet potato was probably the best in terms of flavor albeit very rich. The main course is well things really fell apart. The beef dishes people ordered were either under cooked or over cooked. I got the grilled prawns which were limp and mushy. The veggies were underseasoned. The braised beef was small. I think everyone was underwhelmed with the main course. It's fine as a after work dinner spot but if you care about food, there are better options nearby.

Level G2East. Take the elevators up to 1, cross the plaza directly across from you (towards the metro) and the hotel entrance (not the residences) is under the awning on your left. Pro tip - restaurant is cashless, so have your card handy. There wasn't a bar tender available until 11, so unfortunately we didn't get any mimosas (which we were planning on for our bubbly brunch!). The scones (at $10) were delicious, particularly the lemon curd. I just wish you got more than 2 for that price. Several of us ordered the eggs Benedict. Eggs were perfectly poached and the bakery style English muffin was perfect. I found the Virginia ham overwhelmingly salty, but the salad was a nice compliment. The waiter was awesome and so nice. Staff wrote my friend a congrats card, as we were celebrating the soon-to-be birth of her baby.
