I used to live in the area when this was World of Beer and while in town for a night figured I'd check out the new setup. They definitely have a huge selection and the staff I talked to was more than happy to give beer recommendations, samples, and mix up and drink you were after. The vibe is exactly the same and is pretty much a corporate spot for happy hours and parties. It's a large venue and seemed very understaffed when I went; only having 2 bartenders and one server with a corporate event going on in addition to the regular evening traffic. I tried their pickle chips and they were solid. A little greasy but crispy. We came here on a Wednesday night for their karaoke. It was our first time visiting this Reston location. They had a QR code on the table for their menu, and I ordered the mozzarella sticks, the sautéed shrimp bowl (like a stir fry with veges over rice), and a peach sangria from their cocktail menu. The food was brought out promptly, and it was tasty. The shrimp was well seasoned and grilled, and the portion of the bowl's contents (mixed vegetables and rice) was satisfying especially with the appetizer. I might've been left slightly hungrier if it was just the bowl that I ordered for dinner. The shrimp bowl came with a Sriracha lime dipping sauce as well as a gluten-free soy sauce ramekin on the side. I opted for the soy sauce, but it was tasty enough even without it. The peach sangria was delicious, but when I went to order a second they ran out of the contents to make another! So that was a little disappointing. For my second drink, I ordered the house margarita with salt. They had various flavors of margarita, but I just stuck to the classic. The drinks were not cheap, even for a Wednesday night, at $13 each. With all the ice they put in there and the short glasses they serve their cocktails in, that $13 drink will last you about 15 minutes! We really enjoyed Benji and the karaoke set up he brought. Even some of the most obscure songs, he had at the ready. There was a few steps to walk up to stage, which was spotlit and featured a small monitor for lyrics and a mic stand. There was a larger monitor facing the other patrons, and what I liked about the system they had was that you could see the next 2 to 3 singers who were on deck to appear next. It was helpful, so you know if you were in the queue and it cut down on the need to "page" the next singer and wait for them to come up and sing. A much more efficient system. There seemed to be a group of regulars, and it was a welcoming and appreciative audience of folks of all ages. Karaoke went from 8 PM to 11 PM, so we each got about two or three songs in. I would definitely come back with friends again for another karaoke night. Parking was super easy in the garage next-door, and evening parking is free. read more

We came in on a Sunday and appreciated all the TVs that had different games on. The place was busy as it was NFL Sunday, but our waiter was pretty good at checking in on our table. Never go there on Monday night football or for any sports. Went there tonight and there was over 80 people or maybe more and they only had one guy working in the entire restaurant and a bartender. So why should anyone go there when you can go to Jackson's or open road and get a much better service. I believe I've come here twice so far. First time, I had nachos and some Irish whiskey or some such that was discounted on St. Paddy's Day. This is my second time, on this Friday evening. Next Monday is Juneteenth, just to put into context. I attended a social event here. In terms of parking, I work in Reston so don't have too much issue with it. Otherwise, try any of the parking garages in the Town Center (RTC) and they should be free for up to 2 hours on evenings or weekends -- but don't quote me on that. Our waiter who came around was some Asian dude who had a lot of swag and general know-how, and me being Asian myself I could definitely respect that. Anyway he said the best items here were any of the Bowls (Fish or Steak in particular), the Burgers, or Pizza. Don't remember his exact words, but he seemed sure of that. I felt hungry enough for a burger, but I settled for a Salmon Bowl. That seemed good enough, and fish is healthier and I didn't want to risk touching red meat too often. Turns out, my Bowl was rather superlative. Lot of greens and veggies and healthy side, but even that aside, the fish and accompanying sauce was an outstanding combo. Fish was lightly salted and went fine by itself or with underlying rice. But when you mixed in the sauce it came with, it truly added to the flavor. I would try spooning the sauce, along with salmon and rice and maybe some greens -- that combo tastes very good, trust me. Anyway, subtracting a star because one it's kinda expensive here, so be prepared to bust out the wallet and a 20-dollar bill (figuratively speaking) and that's just with me ordering one dish and a glass of complementary water. That, plus lot of the people are just chatting amongst themselves and it's real hard to talk to anyone or strangers or just try to pick someone up in a bar-style setting, just saying. I tried that once last time, it was a smaller crowd and bit easier somehow, but when it's packed it's pretty brutal to talk to strangers, but then again I guess that applies across the board in anyplace VA, so this is no exception to that rule. All in all, good food but certainly on the pricier side. I guess it helps if you consider you're paying for the atmosphere too, but I didn't like the atmosphere too much myself either, so i guess it boils down to whatever floats your boat, captain. Food: 4/5 Service: 3/5 Atmosphere: 2/5 All in all, I'd recommend eating here especially if you are hungry and have a (figurative) 20-dollar bill lying around. read more

I love this place. I work from home, but when I go to the office this is an easy after work happy hour. You can call ahead and make reservations, there's parking garages everywhere, the menu is on a QR code, waiters are great about starting tabs for individuals, and the food is good. I've never been disappointed. I created a reservation the day before by calling in, there was a table waiting for our group when we arrived. They have large high tops that seat I believe 8-10 folks. Veggies were not fresh, all flavor was in teriyaki sauce that was served on side. Don't waste your hard earned money on this place with so many great restaurants in the same area that do not microwave and provide much higher value for their menu. I am a foodie that loves to try new places. Hate to go Gordon Ramsey on this place; but just no passion in the food and it is very evident with disappointing portions, poor flavor, and sky high prices all made in a microwave. My friend lives in the Reston Town Center and comes to Crafthouse for work happy hours pretty often (M-F from 4-7 PM, which are reasonable times for a quick bite on a weekday) so he recommended coming here to hang out this past Friday after work. CRAFTHOUSE TOTS - 6 I didn't know what to expect. Nowadays, HH deals tend to significantly decrease the portion size to make up for the lower pricing points. However, we were given a huge plate topped with lots of tater tots, spring onions, jalapeños and bacon for garnish along with a scoop of sour cream. Tater tots were perfect crispy and the garnish were the perfect complements. There was also a spicy creamy sauce drizzled on the tots that was tasty. I've been here once before with a few coworkers and hands down it wasn't the spot for me but it was a year ago. So when my coworker planned an after work get together here I decided to give it another try big mistake ! We ordered two of each happy hour appetizer they were basic bar food nothing special. Than the waitress took out drink order I had a dirty martini and boy was it Dirty! When I got to the bottom of the glass I ate an olive than said these olives look terrible my Supervisor was sitting beside me and said no they look old. I said your right and start to look at the olives a little closer and to my surprise mold was growing out of the olives. I almost threw up right there. When the waitress came back I showed her and she didn't look surprised. I said this Is not ok please remove this drink off my tab she said I'm so sorry let me go ask my manager. My whole table was like go ask the manger that's gross. She came back a few minutes later apologized again and said her manager will remove it off my tab. And of course this just shut the night down for everyone we can't order drinks here now. The manager didn't even come over to the table and apologize. So now we're trying to decide if we should go to a new spot or just call it a night. I'm like I'm calling it a night , my other coworker said she wanted to Leave to. Everyone else was like the drinks are watered down and the food was just frozen appetizers heated up. so I'm like let's call it a night. Than 20 minutes later the manager comes over I heard about your olives I'm so sorry I'm a new manager and I'm trying to teach them to put expiration dates on things. What why would you tell me that ! This is a review based on 2 experiences in 6 months. Highly understaffed, takes forever to get drinks and food, that's when only 1/3rd of the place was occupied. Underwhelming food- soggy tater tots, kids pasta looked like microwaved pasta tasteless, Veggie bowl was bunch of under cooked things thrown together, everything was a utter disappointment. Drinks were watered down. Our server however was trying his best, one star for that. I mean as an establishment if you are scrambling for staffing for almost an year, you need some serious help to know how to run restaurants. I came here with a group of friends for a weeknight happy hour. It was super crowded and we were supposed to seat ourselves. The space isn't as big as I expected so the tables and chairs were all very crammed. The ventilation isn't great in this restaurant - once we stepped outside you could smell all of the oil and cooking smells on our clothes. Great place to go and catch up with friends. The environment is very friendly and so are the staff. The outdoor seating is also great. While there is limited space, it is covered and faces the street to allow for people watching. The food is another plus. I would highly recommend the chicken nachos. Reston has some fancy apartments & too many awesome wineries. Crafthouse has that "Fairfax Feel" so that means a lot of Karens crawling around and looking to call the police on anyone. Don't be surprised if one of the Fairfax soccer moms is nosy and calls the police after ease-dropping on your conversations. The parking is some of the worst I've ever seen. But the bathrooms are the cleanest I've ever seen. I'll definitely go back. The music (they had a live band) was a little too loud for me. I ordered probably 4 or 5 drinks. Don't even ask me the bill. I have no idea. Watched the Phillies Game and then Reds/Cardinal Game. I couldn't hear a word of the game thanks to the obnoxious band in the corner. With traffic its 40 minutes to DC. There's not too many junkies leering outside looking for targets, but the Fairfax City & County homeless populations is dramatically rising to critical levels. Oh yeah, a fire Marshall showed up when I was there. A Karen called Fairfax PD on the band. The police look like dorks in their tan uniform. Looks like they're about to invade 2003 Iraq. Fairfax Police is not as respectfully dressed as the fine Prince William County Police Department uniforms. Fashion all around is lacking in this county. Now Prince William County talk about class. Less Karens in Prince William too. In conclusion, I try to avoid Karens as much as possible, but Reston and Crafthouse is filled to the brim with them. Came for trivia night, but got there late and just sat at the bar, ordered dinner and watched baseball! I had previously gotten carryout here and it wasn't good, but you get a reprieve as my food was delicious, bar staff was quick and attentive and kept my drink glass full of water and kept checking with me. The burger was good, cooked to the proper temperature and the fries were tasty with very little salt, which was perfect. It was a very loud place especially with trivia going on, but it is a heavy bar scene, so it is what I anticipated. I do look forward to coming back here for other tasty bar food, and I will certainly be back. I'm glad I gave you another shot after the carryout disaster late in 2020!
