I can confidently say this is my favorite Indian restaurant I've been to in the area so far. Everything from the food to the service exceeded my expectations. It's conveniently located in Reston Town Center inside the Hyatt Regency hotel. The portions were generous, and everything tasted fresh. I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala, which was rich, creamy, and had just the right amount of spice. It paired perfectly with the warm Garlic Naan, and I found myself reaching for every last bite. Starting with the positives: because this restaurant is connected to Reston Town Center and located on the Hyatt Regency premises, there is plenty of parking nearby. While hotel parking requires a fee, you can park in any of the Town Center lots for free after 5 PM on weekdays and all day on weekends. Inside, the space is spacious and modern, and the service is quite good. Unfortunately, the food was a bit of a letdown. The kale salad and the mango & avocado salad were just okay, and the chat papadi was disappointing. Both chicken dishes we ordered, the chicken tandoor and chicken sekuwa, were average at best, and the Alu mutter tasted a bit strange. The Dal Makhani was the only decent dish and the saving grace of the meal. Additionally, the portion sizes for both the dal and the Alu mutter felt small for the price. Because the location is so fantastic, we will give them another chance on a weekday when it is less crowded. read more

First impressions, cute place, trendy interiors and setup. The service was amazing, prompt and helpful and could be back cause of that one reason. The food was good, the appetizers, Shrimp Koliwada and Fish Fry were decent, but the batter and taste felt like the same. The Veg Momos (Sadeko) were the best, you could easily gobble em up, Chicken biryani was great, not too heavily spiced, and the rice and meat were cooked perfectly. The Goat curry, succulent meat and the brown gravy were well done. Chicken Chettinad wasn't really upto the mark, the Rabri Parfait was just ok. This was my second time coming here, and to be honest I was a bit hesitant because my experience with the food the first time wasn't that great. But after this second experience I will definitely be coming back! The food we ordered recently hit the mark on every dish. My favorites were the mango avocado salad and the vegetable Hakka noodles. The salad was perfect for summer, super light and refreshing with a little bit of a kick with the sweet chili dressing, and the Hakka noodles were full of vegetables and the noodles themselves had the perfect flavor and consistency. I also tried the papri chaat, and the jackfruit kofta, which were both delicious as well. They have outdoor seating with a view of the turf at Reston town center. So it's a prefect place to sit, eat, and people watch! read more

First time at Masti, and it did not disappoint. It's a modern Indian restaurant in the Reston area with a great vibe and even better food. We tried the steamed chicken momos with sauce on the side (9/10) -- light and flavorful. The tandoori chicken was the standout for me (10/10), perfectly seasoned and smoky. I went to Masti with a friend on a Saturday for lunch. It's located Reston town center and there's plenty of free parking in the parking garages on the weekends. Parking is also free in the garages after 5 PM on weekdays. The ambience of this restaurant is very nice. It's a large space with lots of seating options for smaller groups as well as larger parties. We saw several families with children there so it seems like it is a kid friendly restaurant as well. We were seated right away and the service was decent, we had someone come right away to take our orders but we didn't have them coming in to check on us to see if we needed anything or needed more water. That aspect of the service could be improved. I ordered the Jhol lamb momo and my friend ordered the vegetarian momo. I enjoyed my Jhol Momo, they were very light and flavorful. The jhol is served cold here. I've had jhol momo before at other restaurants and the jhol was served hot, so just something to be aware of when you order this dish. My friend said that her vegetarian momo were not very flavorful. I also think that the prices were a little high for the portion size. For these reasons in addition to some improvements needed in the service area, I am rating this four stars instead of five stars. read more

The menu looked diverse and amazing. I ordered online and was staying at the hotel. I wanted to try different dishes that I've never had before. I got the garlic naan, chili chicken appetizer, and chicken korma. The naan was really good as well as the basmati rice. The chili chicken was good but a little too spicy for me. I didn't like the chicken korma at all, I was expecting a more nutty flavor, but I didn't taste any nutty flavor. If you need to use the bathroom, The restaurant hallways is connected to a mall indoor part. Its around the corner. We order kale chaat 2 cause it was so good. I've been on the hunt for Jhol momo in the area and I was not disappointed when Masti opened in the location of the old Panera! The interiors are clean and bright, the service is fabulous, and they have a bunch of tables that would be great for huge groups. We ordered: - the kale chaat (do NOT skip this. I love me a good chaat and even my 1 year old ate this up) - Jhol momo (Loved! I really liked how you could choose your filling between lamb, chicken, and veggie. And there's other momo flavors as well) - the daal makhani (I love a daal makhani and this one did not disappoint - chicken tikka (good, not the craziest one I've ever had) - garlic naan (great!) Overall, I think this is an awesome addition to RTC and a sight for sore eyes (in a sea of Wine Bars and Ice Cream Shops). I look forward to returning and trying other menu items! read more

I genuinely have nothing against mom-and-pop restaurants -- some of my favorite meals have come from tiny kitchens -- but this place is nowhere near the standard you'd expect in Reston Town Center. We were a party of six with a reservation, but apparently that just meant we got to wait 10 minutes in the lobby pretending we weren't starving. From the moment we walked in, everything felt chaotic. Staff were darting around with no system, and while everyone was polite, not one person looked like they had ever worked in a restaurant before. We started with the puri puri, which came out as a soggy shell with a little potato, a bit of egg, and a chutney so cold and dull it could've been straight from the fridge. Then came the fish pakora -- or as I now call it, "The Iceberg." I took one bite and the fish inside was frozen solid. The batter outside was warm-ish, the middle was an arctic expedition. No apology, no manager, nothing. They removed it from the bill but never brought a replacement or checked in. When we finally told them to cancel it, they said, "Yeah, we didn't make another one anyway." Perfect. The entrées didn't help. We ordered chicken vindaloo (2), chicken curry (2), chicken biryani, tandoori chicken, and butter chicken -- and they brought two tiny bowls of white rice for six people. When we asked for more, they reacted like we were asking for gold bullion: "Oh... you want more rice? We can bring more. Don't worry." Very weird. We're Middle Eastern and Asian -- spices are not new to us -- but even the mild dishes came out aggressively spicy, overly salty, and strangely lukewarm. Everything tasted like it had been heated unevenly, hot on the outside and warm or cold in the center. At this point I honestly wasn't convinced there was an actual chef back there. Service? Terrible. No refills, no check-ins, and even the soda tasted off. The menu said Coca-Cola, but what we got was some flat, sugary off-brand that tasted like a childhood birthday party gone wrong. Between the cold food, chaotic service, untrained staff, and the mandatory 20% gratuity, this was a full disappointment. And I still don't know why "wild boar" is on an Indian menu read more

Friendly service from manager to server. Dining area is nice but the tables are too close to one another so you can hear other table conversations. Food was amazing, lamb and goat curry was delight spiciness is at minimum but you can always order to make it in a higher chili count. Samosas was good too. The service at this restaurant was great, but the food didn't live up to the price tag. As a huge fan of Indian cuisine, I was especially disappointed by the goat curry. It is not easy to find a genuinely good goat curry, so I was really hoping this place would deliver--but it did not. The meat was so chewy it felt like bubble gum, which means it wasn't simmered on low heat long enough. When a restaurant charges premium prices, the culinary quality needs to match that price tag. Loved the food, ambiance, service, and overall experience here! This restaurant replaces the old Panera that was a staple in RTC. I'm so glad Masti turned out to be a great replacement. The servers were all really nice and attentive, and even though they accidentally brought out one item we didn't order, they let us keep it and did not give us a hard time. All of the food was cooked really well and I loved the flavors of the Aloo Gobi Mutter, biriyani, and the kale chaat. I will definitely come back here soon! read more

Popped in for lunch with a friend last week while shopping in the area. They have amazing lunch combos and the fact that it wasn't crowded was crazy! The space is beautiful and the service top notch! I ordered the lamb vindaloo which came with the basmati rice and a great salad-amazing dressing! We also ordered dal and garlic naan. My friend ordered the chicken tikka masala, I believe. So glad I tried this place! I think it's in the old Panera and the interior is kinda strange and giving more French brasserie vibes than an Indian place. Also the lights are soooo bright! Being that it is a new restaurant the service had some glitches and they were very slow at times. However the food was excellent! The chicken momo were delicious and so light! The butter chicken was smoky and the chicken meat was tender and rich with flavor. I loved the palak paneer and this dish was not the mashed up spinach but was fresh. Just needed more salt. The inside of the restaurant looks very clean, bright, and welcoming. They did a nice job renovating the inside. The staff were very friendly, informative, and attentive all throughout the meal. When the food came (we ordered several dishes), each dish had a different spice level, so be sure to ask how spicy a dish might be before you order. Each dish was full of flavor and very delicious. They also do a great job with their wine selection, which is key for us when eating out. Masti is a wonderful addition to Town Center and we will be back. read more
