My friends took me here after landing at Dulles and this was the best brewery I visited while in the area. Adorable outdoor space with fire pit, seating and an igloo. Space inside was cute too, very farm chic and high top tables along with regular. Our beertender, Derrick was awesome, he was full of personality and explained all the beers to us. I went with the black IPA the first round then switched to their ciders for the second round. Being a hockey fan I loved that they had Caps themed beers and were even selling Tom Wilson glasses. Loved this place! First of all, I was so impressed and happy with the women's bathroom, which had both a sticker by the stall lock that said "You are beautiful" and a sign on the stall wall that instructed women to order a certain drink that would flag for the bartender if they feel unsafe. Every bar should do this, and I know some do, but this is the first time I've seen it in the wider DC area after 20 years of living here! There was a large beer selection; I hate IPAs so I always love when a place has pretty good malty and wheat beers (not as common as you think in recent years!) and this brewery delivered. I particularly liked the oatmeal stout and the hefeweizen. The food options were also pretty good--the sausage place next door had a good variety of toppings and sides. Indoor space is a bit small but the overall place has lots of patio area that has plenty of seats and now in the winter, many fire pits on. Lots of IPA on tab which I do not prefer, so I went with the only Pilsner on the menu, sorry goose. It was light and not lots of body to it. Asked for a taste of one lager on tap but it was watery with lack of flavor, didn't go with that. I then ordered a mulled wine since my beer choices were limited, however it was not all that hot. I really didn't feel a welcoming vibe or too much enthusiasm from the beertender. The place has lots of games around. Food on premises and opportunities to bring your own. My boyfriend and I stopped by for the Oktoberfest event at Eavesdrop. The venue is really nice and has a tons of outdoor seating. It's bigger than I thought it'd be. Although not much parking. We tried the oktoberfest beer, strawberry cheesecake, and Yorkshire. All of the beer tasted good. The most unique was the cheesecake. It was thick like a smoothie! I came here once before for a Yelp Halloween event a few years back and decided to stop by on the way back from Virginia Beach with my boyfriend. We tried the Chandelier and a Dollar Menu, Chungus Pidgey: Strawberry Cheesecake, Big Pidgey: Tangerine Creamsicle, and the KRSH Mango Hard Seltzer. Our favorite were the Pidgeys! The good: Neat place tucked away in an unlikely location. They have a great space and a good selection of beer, cider, and even some mead. There are some food options from the cafe next door and there is a Sheetz there too. The outdoor space is nice with lots of different seating areas and plenty of shade. There are even some fire pits for cool evenings. The not so good: As is to be expected with a place like this, everything is overpriced with beers starting at $8. They're understaffed and service is slow. You order at the counter but there was always a line. They also don't seem to have anyone going around and taking care of tables. They were all sticky and covered in crumbs. While the outdoor space was nice, there always seemed to be someone smoking, which stank up the whole place. There was also a horde of wild children running around and yelling and throwing balls. One guy got hit and the kids didn't even apologize. There are a few strong breweries in the NOVA area, but this is hands-down my family's favorite. Not only is the variety of beer they make varied and (of the ones I've tried) delicious, but they offer alcoholic slushies, wine, and beers and ciders from other breweries so if you're looking for an adult beverage, you'll probably find something you like. They offer flights of either three or five beers (on the weekdays) if you can't make up your mind, so no need to commit! One of my favorite things is that they offer IPAs that aren't overwhelmingly bitter. Their selection also rotates, with new releases fairly regularly. Lately I've been digging the Wild Hunt strong ale and the Digital Dove, an IPA created by ChatGPT AI. I can enjoy the fruits of AI before it turns on us in a few years! If you have little ones or aren't imbibing, they also have non-alcoholic slushies, soda, and juice boxes. They have a modest selection of food, from chips and salsa to sandwiches and charcuterie trays. Speaking of food, there is a Sheetz next door, and Eugene's Sausage and Fries as well. You can also bring in your own food and drinks (no alcohol!), which is especially nice when bringing kids or when your budget is all going towards beer and you don't need to be wasting cash on eating out. There is plenty of seating inside and loads more outside, including tables under shade in the sun and covers if it's raining. They have a selection of tabletop games and things like cornhole and giant Connect 4 if you need something to do, TVs with sports on inside if you want to ignore your family, and often offer events, from trivia and yoga to live music and shopping events with local artisans. If you aren't already, I highly recommend following on Facebook and/or Instagram so you can keep up with upcoming events. Parking can be limited on busy days, but I've always found some (note the reserved parking in front of other businesses, and don't be a jerk). The bathrooms are immaculate and always stocked, and everything else has always been clean and in good repair when I've been. They offer cigars stocked by Tobaccology and provide cutting and matches if you need, and plenty of ashtrays outside. The humidor is well-kept, and the prices are higher than you might find at a tobacco shop, but very reasonable for something sold at a third-party vendor. I enjoy the Aroma de Cubas, but my favorite is the custom blend by Tobaccology itself. If you enjoy cigars or don't mind them, it's great, but that is a heads-up that if you hate the smell or avoid smoke, and are planning on sitting outside, you might have to deal with some smoke and aromas. When I'm there with my kids, I don't smoke, but have never noticed the smoke to be overwhelming, and there is so much seating you can probably be away from it, but just be aware. The only complaint I have - and it's minor - is that the music (non-live) can be a little loud. It's turned up enough to hear everywhere, which is cool, but if you're in the vicinity of the speakers, it can be a bit much. This has gone from an ocaissional place to drop in on with the family to a place where I come to work (free wifi!) during the weekdays and where we always bring visitors. Eavesdrop is a large brewery off of 28. I met several friends here and we all brought our dogs. Parking was a little difficult during a busy period, valet parking is available on the weekends. The brewery has plenty of outside seating, consisting of picnic tables, covered seating areas, fire pits and an indoor seating area in the taproom. The brewery is definitely family, dog and crowd friendly. There is plenty of space for groups. The beer is excellent, the Digital Dove IPA is definitely worth the drive. Beer is sold in the taproom to drink on site or there is a separate shop where you can buy to fill growlers or take cans home. Wanted to love this place, but there seemed to be a severe infestation of yellow jackets. It would be one thing if you could have gone indoors to escape them, but the inside portion was all opened up. I'm not sure how the employees didn't seem to care. They were literally everywhere and kept landing in our drinks, on the bar, & were in the food area next door. I will say the place had an everything you wanted from a brewery and looked great. Even the food was fantastic and the staff were nice. I just think if there is that many yellow jackets, it's probably time to call someone and close off the indoors so people don't leave. We couldn't even finish our first drinks. It's not safe for people with kids, animals, or allergies to them. I am not a beer fan but they have fruity beers, ciders and sours which I can enjoy! We had never heard about this brewery and only found about it through some friends. The location is a bit weird; in the back of a small commercial retail property in the corner of Rt. 28 and Orchard Bridge Drive in Manassas. A townhouses development borders it at the back; a dilapidated, yet still surprisingly active, stripmall to the side. The parking lot is small and shared with other businesses, but they ussually have complementary valet parking. All right... so the location is weird, but the place itself is great! A big outside area filled with tables (picnic tables, high tables, regular tables) and seating (outdoor couches and lounge chairs), with the brewery at one side, a sausage shop (Eugene's Sausages and Fries, really good!) at another. They also have a small stage for live music, and typical brewery/winery games lying around (corn hole, giant Connect Four, etc.). They are kids and pet friendly, and allow you to bring outside food. Nice murals decorate the walls facing the outside area, which provide a nice background for pictures. The brewery itself also has a few tables inside their building, and even a rooftop area. They offer a pretty good selection of beers, ciders, and wines at good prices. They even have beer for dogs! A bunch of TVs on the walls are usually tuned to any games being played on.
