We happen to be in the area. The choice was between Mexican or Burgers. We opted for Parrando's. Lunchtime was quiet with probably only 3 tables occupied. The server was not friendly but he was attentive. It appeared to aggravate him to take our order and clear off our dishes. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated but a bit dark. Restrooms were clean. Food options were standard. There were no lunch options. I opted to create a 2 combo platter: spinach enchiladas and a chicken tamal(not be confused with a tamale). They were served with a huge portion of rice and refried beans. Both side dishes were delicious. The spinach enchilada was stuffed with a hefty portion of spinach and the "tamal" was kinda filled with bits of chicken. I can't say it was delicious and it definitely lacked any kind of mexi-flavor. I asked for a hot sauce and was offered a "homemade hot sauce" that was ridiculously too hot to even eat. They had offered bottles of Tabasco and similar bottle choices. What a great restaurant! I loved all their meals were so delicious and tasted so fresh. Their menu is huge so everyone's bound to find something they like. I was amazed that the seafood soup was so delicious, highly recommend. There's plenty of seating, the restaurant is huge. For birthdays you HAVE to come here! It's such a hoot. Parrandos is a great spot to grab tex-mex food in the area and I very much enjoyed my experience. The service was attentive and friendly, but not overbearing. There was a lot of seating in the bar area, so we took advantage. There was a lot of seating, and as many have commented it shouldn't be a problem. The margarita was strong and tasty. I liked that it wasn't overly sweet, unlike many margaritas you get at Mexican restaurants. I ordered the 3 tacos and tried various ones, each delish! My fiancé, his parents, and I went here for dinner and it was absolutely amazing! So upon walking in we were met with a friendly smile and immediately sitting down we were met with chips and salsa. Chips and salsa 10/10 - extremely fresh you can tell they make everything in house. The salsa was fresh chunks of tomatoes and onions so good. Frozen Strawberry Mango Margaritas 9/10 -Extremely great flavor and smooth. Could've been slightly stronger in my opinion but overall amazing Steak Fajitas 10/10 -By far my favorite place to get steak! It's always cooked to perfection no matter if you get it medium or well done. It melts in your mouth and so tender and flavorful. The waitress was nice, but she didn't really give us the happy hour menu and the prices online were incorrect. However, the frozen strawberry margarita and frozen mango margarita were still flavorful and yummy. Also, the wings were a little salty and the guac lacked seasoning. We frequent Parrando's. What's happening? First of all if you want a refill on your CHIPS REFILL there's now an EXTRA CHARGE, Really.Also the basket is not full and the chips mostly broken. Spending $21 for 3 enchiladas and charged for extra chips. This meal tonight was disappointing. The shredded beef was dry however the chicken tasty as usual. We arrived at 4:30. We discovered there's a Happy Hour Menu which we were not offered and I found out from seeing other patrons sitting near us. What's going on? Is there new management? The weather was phenomenal: 78 degrees in early March!!! and we got to sit outside, but it's frustrating that we are NEVER allowed to sit on the other bigger, brighter, side of the patio due to staff shortages. UGH. Our server, Claudia, was so amazing: Cheerful, attentive, our orders all accurate, even with 4 separate checks. I saw there was only 2 servers on a day with predicted great weather. Steak was very tender. The burrito was flavorful. Delicious. I had the crispy Tacos with ground beef. Tacos were flavorful. Delicious. I asked for hot sauce. The server brought homemade jalapeño, habenero hot sauce. It had some heat which I enjoyed. We both had rice, refried beans on our plates. The rice was tasty. The refried beans were creamy. My favorite Mexican restaurant in the area. I have had almost everything on the menu and there isn't one dish that isn't tasty and different from the other Tex-Mex wannabes in nova. I think it's related to Rangos in Tyson's. The service is great and the drinks are strong and delicious. It can get loud but that's what tequila does to people. read more

We were all ordering off the website happy hour pricing, and the servers saw we were ordering off the happy hour menu, but when we got the receipt we were unaware that the pricing had changed. The current website pricing is considerably cheaper than the menu provided post provided check. If I had known the prices were more expensive than provided I don't know I'd have ordered as much. Service was very friendly and attentive,atmosphere was very pleasant and people on the bar looked happy and satisfied. Food was good,not outstanding or phantasmic,but solid quality. I ordered Camarones Jalisco and had a choice of 2 sides. Portion was pretty decent,even though I didn't have any appetizer. Shrimp could be a little larger and a little juicier,but nothing was wrong or not tasty. My family liked seafood chimichanga with shrimp and scallops,but proportions were not even,was much more shrimp than scallops inside. Came here on a Friday night for a quick bite. I sat at the bar and ordered a Pineapple frozen daiquiri and chicken chimichanga. The daquiri was delicious, but would have preferred it to be a lot stronger than it was. The chicken chimichanga was okay; it was a little bit bland for my taste but was passable. Portion was pretty good. It came with the usual sides of refried beans, Mexican rice, sour cream, pico, guacamole and some lettuce. The service was great. I didn't have to wait long to get some complementary chips and salsa. I had ample time to choose what I wanted to eat, but didn't have a long wait to put in an order. The wait staff are friendly and patient. They were really busy, but they always made sure to circle back to me. I came in around 1800, so I think after 5, they get really busy. It seems like they are a popular place for a Friday night especially for some stressed out professionals. Haha. Very chill place even on a busy night. Recommend for drinks, but maybe not if you're just wanting to eat. 4 stars for excellent service and tasty drink. read more

Beware of this place. We ordered 2 fajita dinners and only received 1 set of tortilla with just 3 tortilla. We brought this up to the server and she gladly brought out another set. Here comes the check. We were charged for the second set of tortilla that should have come with the second fajita dinner! Not to be confrontational, I just paid the check, leaving about 20% tip BEFOR tax and thought everything was good. Here comes the online bank statement. They charged me $98 instead of the $95 I signed on the check!!!! COntacted management, and they claim the will make it right offering 2 $50 gift cards and that they can mail it to me. Well CRTICKETS-never heard back from them. Contacted VISA and got the difference back. As per VISA, I could have open a credit card fraud case but decided to let it slide. read more

We went there last night to celebrate an occasion. Arrived early, happy hour timeframe. Beautiful place. The food was amazing. We ordered the trio dip and ceviche to start. Outstanding. Their chips and salsa are great. Their tortillas are freshly made. We also had steak fajitas, a taco salad, and a burrito for our main courses. So much food, generous portions! Let's talk about their margaritas. They're really, really good and appropriately strong (meaning not watered down). They even garnished them with an infused frozen lemon. Delicious. Absolutely recommend. When we were leaving, the place had really filled up. Although it's huge, there are probably some nights where you'll need a reservation. Great experience. I can't remember our waiter's name, but he was OUTSTANDING and friendly - he made us feel so welcome. We were a three-top in the bar by the window on Thursday, Oct. 16, 2025. Parrando's is my families favorite Tex-mex spot in Northern Virginia. We've been coming to Parrando's for years now - and every single time, it does not disappoint! The service is amazing - all those involved in the process are very welcoming and make sure we are good. The food is beyond delicious, it's so good. Hands down one of the best tamales de lotes that I've ever had!!! They have lots of space so if you plan on having a very big dinner - they are able to accommodate. Made a quick weekend in VA, and my partner saw a Tex-Mex Restaurant nearby. We love this cuisine and the food looked AMAZING!! SO, we stopped in with our big appetite (and hunger pangs ). We were not disappointed! The staff was very friendly, attentive and accommodating. Mann from the time we entered the restaurant, it was great! The menu is extensive a tad in the pricey side, but portions were worth it! Everything was seasoned and flavourful. The drinks were not skipping any "adult juice"! The ambiance was lovely and they also have an outside patio. We even doubled back by to hear the love music playing!
