    Chicken burrito
    Elaine L.

I went yesterday to pick up up some food to try since they're new in the neighborhood. I ordered 8 tacos, 3 burritos and a ground beef quesadilla. The owner was there when I went in, he's a really nice gentleman and offered chips while we were waiting for the food. The food was ready promptly. However, the food itself was very disappointing. The burritos alll had WHITE rice in it, it seemed like those instant white rice you microwave. There was very little meat compared to the price of the burrito; and the chicken was very dry. The street tacos were priced at $4.45 each with not a lot of protein for the price. For the food I would give 0 stars but the people were nice. Ultimately I would not return.

Have only been there once but was very impressed. Service was solid and the food was good. Really good. Cannot wait for a return trip.

The tacos were great, but the pupusas were especially good. I'd put this place ahead of most of the your options for tacos in the area.

The table had been set with crisp white tablecloths and centerpieces, the first indication that this was going to be a special event, and as our evening progressed, we were not disappointed! Pete Maxwell served us several courses that began with the best tomato basil bisque I've ever had, prepared with locally-sourced heirloom tomatoes. Then came ahi tuna on microgreens served with a horseradish-based cream sauce. It was served family style, with Pete accommodating some of our group's request for more well-done portions. An heirloom tomato and burrata salad was fresh and delicious. I don't typically choose lamb, but the entree of a lamb ribeye and a little lamb lollipop in a bed of autumn squash puree, served with roasted heirloom carrots (strip steak for the non-lamb eaters) had both a beautiful presentation and just the right seasoning and I was pleasantly surprised. A miniature, warm pumpkin muffin was served before a unique dessert of vanilla ice cream served inside a roasted squash bowl. We brought and enjoyed our own wines, including a wine that paired well with the desserts. This is not the type of dinner we would have expected to be offered at The Grille, but every person raved about the experience and we look forward to doing it again soon.

Got to check off eating here as it's been on my list of places to try for years. The fresh flowers are a nice touch. We received complimentary treats from the kitchen which set the standard for what was to come. Could have eaten a million more. Our tuna tartare arrived and upon eating our first bites, the taste was off-putting. The staff was so kind to compensate by removing this item from our bill. The mussels are a good dish shareable for two; we asked for soup spoons to enjoy the broth. My friend typically does not order protein as her main entree (coming from a family who is skilled at grilling meats), though I was able to persuade her to share the pork chop. The staff offered to split this into two separate plates. I enjoyed the fact that were were supporting a local fresh pork farm based out of Mount Jackson, VA known as Baker's Farm. All of the dishes were plated creatively and we left feeling full. +Yellow Fin Tuna Tartare-saffron aioli, house made kimchi, crispy tuile +IPA Steamed Mussels-bacon, cherry tomato, basil, grilled sourdough +Smoked Local Pork Chop +Espresso Martini Although my friend mentioned that this is typically more than she would pay for, she would come back for the mussels. I would agree the price point falls short of the flavors.

We made reservations since we were a group of 6 including 2 infants, and these were warranted as the restaurant progressively filled up as we got closer to peak brunch hours. We were offered a large booth, which was appreciated as we needed space for the babies. The food here tasted quite good. My wife ordered the Pork Belly Benedict, which offered tender-crisp, thick slices of braised pork belly atop soft, buttery focaccia and coated with well poached eggs and creamy hollandaise. We both highly enjoyed my Broadlands Breakfast Sandwich, a clever take on a standard bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich swapping crispy, perfectly sweet French toast for standard bread. The breakfast potatoes served alongside were crispy on the outside with fluffy interiors and good seasoning. Our friends enjoyed their sandwiches as well. As the name alludes, the drink program is strong and offers something for everyone. In addition to wine and whisky, a solid selection of both cocktails and draft beers are available. Prices for both food and drinks were quite reasonable given the quality of what we received. I do dock a star for just so-so service. Our waitress was a bit MIA during the first part of our meal when we were trying to order, and then kept checking in on us every 5 minutes once our food arrived. We also had to remind her a few times to get a high chair for our little one. Fortunately, the food and drinks all arrived accurately and within a timely manner once ordered. Service woes aside, the creative fare satisfied our taste buds and we look forward to returning soon for to sample more of the brunch menu and libations.

Our fantastic bar server was Abby. She joked about trying everything on the menu... and we almost did. Short of maybe one or two items, we did enjoy all the food. It's easy to slide from crazy hour to happy hour because of the food, drink and service.

I would recommend a reservation because with rain outside aka the patio being closed, the whole inside was packed. A lot of the seats are super close which feels very European but you can hear most peoples conversations which can be annoying. Our waitress was really sweet and stopped by a bunch. We started with French 75's, hot coffee, and an espresso martini. The drinks were refreshing and quite large for the price. The espresso martini really reminded me of a grown up hot chocolate, I really enjoyed it. I later also got a cucumber vodka martini and it was one of the most refreshing drinks I've ever had - definitely the drink of the summer. For our food we started with the baked brie with fig and garlic and the escargot. The brie was a unique take on baked brie, I loved the way the flavors all melded and the fact the cheese wasn't completely spilling out everywhere. The escargot was soft with a phenomenal crumb/butter mix, the whole things really melded well and melted in your mouth. The bread served with it was nice as well, if only I had a bit more of it. For our mains we were here during brunch so we got the lobster omelet and the French onion soup with the side of fries. The french onion soup was great, a good amount of cheese and onions without being overwhelming. Fries were fantastic and quite large, a big portion for $7. They hooked it up with the amount of lobster. I would definitely come back to try their lunch tasting menu or other brunch items as well!

The short ribs fell apart without a knife bc they were sooo tender and the desserts were expertly crafted. I might go back just for dessert yum!! The Brie appetizer was enjoyable though a little small if splitting. The shrimp cocktail were very traditional. I enjoyed them. My husband loved the homemade baguette although I wonder if it's because the butter was so good; the bread itself was a little hard for me and of course room temp as is typical in France. Kids enjoyed the kids options (though preferred our dishes). Pasta in cream sauce and steak frites were their choices. It was really loud inside particularly when tables in the middle of the room were occupied. Outdoor patio might be pleasant for easier conversation. Also bring a sweater- if you end up under an ac vent, it can be cold.
